Our family lived here for almost 4 years, and to be honest we loved it! What drew me was 1) their pricing for luxury apartments is probably the best in this area and 2) theyre gated. We never really had any issues, apartment living is very communal, Ive lived in quite a few and this was a great experience overall! Perfect location, beautiful grounds, we loved the pool area, the office staff generally was very friendly and helpful, and the property manager James always goes above and beyond!

UPDATE: Rubin from the Maintenance crew is SUPER!!! Had an issue with AC and Rubin took care of it with one visit. Thanks!!!Ive been living here for a couple of months and couldnt be happier! The office staff is super helpful and courteous anytime Ive needed their help. the grounds are well kept and the pool is perfect now that its fully opened. It truly has a community feel and very inclusive to the tenants. If youre looking for a really nice home in Gilbert, you gotta come check this place out!

I’ve been here for a few months now and have had an amazing experience from the beginning! Holly in particular has been above and beyond welcoming. Since the moment I started inquiring she has been so helpful and kind. Even once I’ve moved in she is checking in on me and remembering my family who comes to visit.The pool area is so fun and beautiful, especially that waterfall!I am loving it here. My experience with the highlands has been great. I’ve had a great experience with Jessica who helped correct an error that came up, she’s awesome and easy to work with. I love hanging out at the pool and I always interact with Moses and Tony the maintenance guys. They are always working hard and keeping the property and residence informed important details. Holly is always friendly and provides great customer service to the community.

The leasing office has the worst customer service. I am a new tenant who is supposed to start my lease shortly and from the beginning they are difficult to reach, do not respond to calls (with voicemail messages) or emails. I have yet to receive a response with the emails that I have sent. Especially being out of state, one doesnt even have the option to drive over to get questions answered. It concerns me that if they are unable to respond to simple questions, then how will they respond to emergencies. They make you feel like a number and for the amount of money you are spending, its sad as they dont seem to care. Ive even asked for the name of the manager or someone of authority and no response. I would think twice before leasing with this apartment building. There are many other options out there... I just wish I had gone with another company.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS APARTMENT COMPLEX! This is the worst apartment complex I have ever lived in. I lived there for just over one month. Upon moving in, there was an infestation in my apartment (I won’t say what was in there, but if you look at other reviews on here or yelp you will find it). They kept saying they “took care of the problem” when it clearly wasn’t handled as they would continue to show up in my apartment. Was also told by an employee that worked there that “they were everywhere” when they were opening the pool back up after lock downs. Was able to move out, and have been waiting 2 MONTHS for my security deposit back. I have called every week for over a month now. Today I received my check in the mail. The apartment was left in near perfect condition (as I lived there for barely over a month) but was charged $150 for a “cleaning fee”. I have pictures of how the apartment was left and it required no cleaning as I cleaned before I left. The office is nearly impossible to get ahold of, the communication from management to ownership of property is terrible so nothing gets done. On top of all of that, upon moving in, the washer did not work, the dryer did not work, air conditioner didn’t work, and outlets in apartment didn’t work. Save yourself the trouble and look elsewhere. Feel free to message me if you have questions or want to see pictures.

This place is great to live! The staff are fast with any amenities that you might need looked at, friendly, and efficient. The management in front office are all friendly too and helpful! Overall, great people and clean Apts as well as common area. Love living here, definitely would recommend to anyone who wants a clean, safe, and gorgeous place to live as well as proficient management team!

I lived in a 1 bedroom 1 bathroom for a year. The apartment itself was fine. We did get multiple bugs, such as cockroaches and scorpions (on the second floor). They sprayed but it never solved the issue. Also, you only get one parking spot. The parking is awful & have had times where there wasn’t 1 single parking spot available... I just didn’t go home that day. As far as move out & move in, the staff isn’t helpful. Upon move out I’ve called 3 or 4 times and even emailed with no response or direct answer about how much I owed for my last months rent. The blonde one in the office is so rude & would always treat me & my partner awfully such as making snide comments. While moving our stuff out of the apartment she brought a people to tour by and said “oh look they’re finally cleaning.” This is beyond unprofessional & definitely not warranted. Overall, it’s definitely a hassle more than a luxury living here. Not only that, they raised the prices over $400 more only after one year, so good luck renewing!

I just had to leave this review in response to Chas who put the pictures up of the parking. What he forgot to mention, this is the way the parking was for a few days while they were putting new asphalt down on the property. The parking isnt perfect but its nowhere near what he tried to portray.I lived here 2 years and my biggest issue was the scorpions. I would consider it infested. Dont let people tell you oh its just Arizona. Ive lived in AZ all my life (44) years and never even seen a scorpion until I moved here. The apartments will spray but it does nothing. The pool area is really, really bad. Just be careful and especially with children.If you can overlook that, this place is great.

I put in a simple work order that I could not do myself, I am not sure how to change the batteries in the thermostat. I was very surprised to see that the manager James, came over and changed them for me. This community always goes above and beyond for me and my family! I love the Christmas ornament hunt that you guys have been doing. Its a good way to get us out of the house and exercising!

I dont leave many reviews but, I had to leave this one. I just moved here with my mom and was looking for a place ASAP! I found a job in the area, all I needed was an apartment. I called and saw complexes that were not up to my expectations. The Highlands at Spectrum is amazing to say the least! First, the office staff are wonderful and professional; they answered all questions and were actually to have me as a tenant. The new maintenance guy is outstanding; he is knowledgeable and responds quickly!All I can say is, I am glad that my search is finally over! Move here!

I lived here for a year and it was a great experience. The apartments are nice, its a very quiet area and convenient location make this a perfect place to live. Maintenance is always on top of service request. The only reason we moved out is because the rates were going up and we bought our own condo. I came in for a tour yesterday, I worked with James. He was very nice and super friendly. I waited a bit longer than expected, but it was because he was sanitizing the unit before he showed it to us. The other leasing lady in the office was showing the unit when I arrived. It made me feel like this company really cares about its customers. These apartments have been a nightmare! I get COVID going on but through this whole process we never received a call back of our status I had to call everyday 10X a day and finally if I was lucky someone answered. We finally moved into the apartment and it had not been cleaned it was so disgusting previous owners hair all over the bathroom. Broken and dirty toilet seats, tears in the vynl flooring a broken trash can and broken AC. No accommodations have been made for us just everyone pointing the finger at eachother. I do not recommend these apartments because you will be like me dealing with so many issues upon move in.

Finally! I’m free of this place!The office staff is terrible; I’ve never dealt with a worse staff. The girls in the front barely know what they are doing and always have a comment to make; Not to mention they are not the smartest (if you have a package coming pick it up somewhere else because they won’t even look for it and probably will miss place it).As for the parking it’s terrible. They never have enough places to park and your single covered parking is always a building over from you. When my wife had just given birth to our daughter, and they were doing replacements of the roads, the staff told me to have her park in the neighborhood behind the complex if we couldn’t find a spot. Are you kidding me?? Absolutely disgraceful.If you have a maintenance call, best of luck to you. The one time I made the call to have the washer fixed it took a week to even show up and another almost week to find the part to fix it. Everything else that had a issue I fixed myself.I requested multiple times that they not water as much during the due and spray for bugs; none of which changed. We had probably a scorpion every week sometimes two, not to mention the giant spider (brown recluse) that we found in my sons bathroom. Thank god we found it before he did.I would give this place a 0 star if I could. After living here for a year and a half I’m so thankful to be gone and this place be in the past.-In response to the reply-Andrew acts like a college frat boy; always hitting on women, always cracking jokes on people as they walk away, and never can get his story straight when confronted on issues. If I wanted to hear someone lie to my face about “solving a issue” I would go to the Jr College down the street.

On Friday, I scheduled an appointment with the Highlands at Spectrum, and received a confirmation email. I went there today, but was turned away because they couldnt find my appointment, and they were swamped - I was the only person there. I got off work early and drove 40 miles to see their apartments, but that didnt bother the two young women there, who were surprised that I didnt want to re-schedule, and apply to live at an apartment complex that cant even get a simple scheduled appointment right.40 miles...

Highlands at Spectrum is a beautiful gated community with covered parking. This community is near San Village which is a great open-air mall with plenty of shops and restaurants. This community is very quiet and quaint. Nothing says luxury apartment more than the gorgeous facilities like the pool with waterfall and built in BBQ area. I really appreciate the energy efficient lighting throughout the community. Property Manager James is a wonderful and helpful individual. The Maintenance Manager, Paul, is always responsive when there is a need for service.

The maintenance staff is exceptional! Our washer was squeaking and the work order was followed up on the next day. Paul left me a message letting me know a new unit was on order. Mark then moved in a new washer & dryer 3 days later. We had towels in the dryer and Mark even placed them in the new dryer for us! We’ve lived here for several years and have always appreciated the excellent service provided by maintenance.

My wife and I recently moved in 4 days ago. We were very overwhelmed with the overall condition that we found the apartment in. We found rips and scratches in our laminate flooring, painting and texturing was not done correctly and there were several bugs throughout the house.Initially I would have given this a 2. That would be generous, but the new appliances and counter tops do look nice (but they went very very very cheap on the laminate flooring).The reason I gave them two additional stars is due to the fact that Paul took such good care of us. He fixed all the issues we had in the apartment and really went out of his way to make my wife and I happy. James the site manager also seemed to want to fix the issues that we found and allocated Paul the maintenance supervisor to us for several hours to make sure we were taken care of. So thank you!

A man named James helped us out, he showed us around and answered all of our questions. He made the whole experience enjoyable. I honestly like living here a lot. Its super quiet and tenants are friendly. The location is perfect. My only real complaint is the 20+ stray cats living on property, and the fact that people feed them isnt helping. I wake up to cat prints on my brand new car on a very regular basis. So if you have a nice car, beware!Update: one year later they still havent done anything about the stray cats. In fact, they allow people who dont live here to come in and still feed them.... Also there is a Scorpion infestation. My boyfriend has been stung twice in his sleep now.

Our family lived at The Highlands at Spectrum last summer during a relocation from out of state while purchasing our new home. We were very grateful for the wonderful assistance we were given by Andrew and Erika in the front office. They really helped to make our transition a smooth one. The unit we lived in was newly renovated and beautiful. We especially loved the floors. We were very happy living in this community. It was quiet, clean and in a great location. This place is just ok.Pros: The location is by far the biggest pro. I love Gilbert, and Highlands is in a nice quiet, very safe area, but very convenient to the 202. There is just about everything you could need within a couple of square miles: Target, several grocery stores, the San Tan mall, etc. The public school system here is fabulous. The other pro is that these apartments are fairly new, and have a decently clean, modern design.Cons: The maintenance crew is awesome, but super understaffed, and things just dont get taken care of very quickly. For example, I have been waiting on a working microwave for three months now, which I think is something that has just fallen between the cracks. The outdoor lighting is extremely bright, which I guess is safe, but we have to pin blackout curtains to the walls on both sides in both the bedrooms to be able to sleep at night. Pet fees and parking costs are way above average for the area. The carpet is impossible to keep clean. And there is a MAJOR stray cat problem. Theyre everywhere, and residents continue to feed the cats, so they keep reproducing. The cats often catch animals, like pigeons, and leave the carcasses around.

Getting ahold of anyone in the office is impossible. may as well just be closed all the timeEDIT: Finally got ahold of someone in the office. We had had roommates apply to join our lease April 29th. The office said they would start the applicating right away. However, after speaking with them today turns out they had not even started it. They claimed they have been swamped with other applications. Having worked in leasing, I know it takes all of 5 minutes to submit an application. I believe they had just forgotten and want to cover their mistake. They refuse to take responsibility for it.

Erica helped us find the perfect fit for not only my boyfriend and I but also our big puppy which is a huge bonus. The area is amazing, parking is easy and maintenance is fast. The office even directed me on setting up internet which was a breeze since they pay cox for the installation. The neighborhood is quiet and everyone is so friendly and also pet friendly which was very important for us. We have felt at home since we first walked into the front office. Erica and Adriana answered all of my questions and concerns and are there to help every step of the way. They were so obliging, especially considering I called almost daily and stopped by the office a few times wanting to take a look at my future apartment. Love this place and definitely recommend!
