I helped my friend move and just love the property. So beautiful! While taking stuff to the dumpster Gilbert offered to help, i thought that was so sweet! I also met Andrew the maintenance supervisor while he informed my friend that a part had came in to complete her work order. I can tell her stay here will be amazing!

These apartments wouldn’t be as great as they are if it wasn’t because of how well maintained they are. I’ve had one issue thus far. I remember having a horrible day thinking my stay here was a mistake. Until one maintenance crew member made my day. He fixed the issue I was having quickly. He was respectful, extremely professional, and polite . Gilbert thank you for being awesome at what you do. As I mentioned , maintenance here is good but Gilberts personality makes it the best.

Your property was a breath of fresh air! Lacy was so accommodating and kind! Went out of her way to find something that would be perfect for my son and I. She was extremely knowledgeable about the area, schools and close attractions. Can’t wait to move forward With her when my lease is up! Super kind and patient I highly recommend!

This place was called (bayside at the island) when I was living there many years ago. I had So much fun living there. They have 2 gated pools. A main office. Covered parking spots. Doggy doo pick up bag stands. Lots of grassy lawn spots. The have BBQ fire grills. They have a big lake for fishing or any other water activity. The rent is sooo expensive. I met alot of friends and people.

I was visiting a friend and his lock was acting up and maintenance came to fix it while I was there and Gilbert the maintenence guy showed up and was very cool and friendly. Took a quick look at the lock and got it fixed quick. Needless to say that because of how friendly he was Im considering moving in to these apartments sometime soon!! 🙏

This was the first apartment i have lived in on my own and these guys made it as smooth and painless as possible! Blanca was the one to help me out and would absolutely recommend living here and having her help you out! No complaints at all and everything was beautiful and taken care of accordingly. I went to view a 2 bedroom apartment I thought it was going to be a pleasant experience but when I met Chelsy it all went down hill she was uninviting and incredibly rude. I had some simple questions and she made me feel like I was bothering her by even being there. Based off her attitude she doesnt want anyone to move in here and I will not be returning because of her negativity. What a shame.

Lived here for 2 years and Im about to sign the lease for a 3rd. Beautiful Lake, conveniently located grills for weekend bbq by the water. Turtles, fish, and ducks hang around, its great.The apartments a nice! The vaulted ceiling makes my upstairs 2 br feel much bigger.Courteous staff, quick repairs, and 2 nice pools. Parking is my only complaint. Each apartment gets only one covered parking spot. I normally let my room mate have that and I park in whatever spot I can find that isnt covered. Problem is, people have more than one car, so they leave their spare car sitting in a prime uncovered parking spot, and it never moves. They should park it out by the entrance since it doesnt get used. People with one car will take an uncovered spot, that way in case they have company, their guest can take their covered parking spot and not have to walk from the open spots at the entrance. Just irritates me when I have to park all the way out at the entrance because people are saving spots just in case they have company, or because theyre storing their rarely used vehicles.

3 in a half stars. I would recommend these, but are especially worth it if you are taking advantage of a move in special.These are next to a (man made) lake, however it doesn’t really matter unless you get an apartment with a lake view (at a higher cost). This place does not have kayaks/boat check out or rentals. I’ve lived here 3 years and there is new management. There is a dumpster issue but I feel management has a good plan to eventually eliminate that. Our apartment is nice and updated with wood laminate in kitchen, bathrooms and hallway although some units have it throughout. Some units also have fireplaces. I did read on an apartments listing website that this place has laundry and dry cleaning service which as far as I know they do not (I will revise this if I find out they do). And as far as community events or whatever I’m not sure about that either. I mean last month they drove around in golf carts giving away popsicles or ice cream 🍦. Fitness room is cozy with a I think 3 ellipticals, 2 bikes, and a couple total body weight lifting things. There are 2 pools, with a jacuzzi at one.Compare these to the newer apartments that advertise as “luxury” that have more modern look, free WiFi by pool areas, business center, fitness/exercise room with fitness classes, pet washing station, dog park, gated community, door-to-door trash pickup, etc... these would not be considered luxury. Even though not luxury they are not bad. 👍🏼

Love the maintenance crew especially Gilbert always on point with which ever task is given to him whether it be something minor like a clog sink or something major with hvac knowing I have him to count on leaves me with a peace of mind k owing things will be taken care of .

Living here has been wonderful! Between the view, the pools and new grills that make pool time an event, we love this apartment complex. The managers are attentive and helpful, maintenance is at the ready, and everyone is really just nice to our family. I hope we stay here a long time :)

Property management doesn’t care.The apartments are average. Maintenance is average. What you’d expect. What’s disheartening is the pathetic management and security patrol. I’ve been living here for 6+ months and have had to call security at least twice a month on noise related complaints (parties at the pool going to 2am). Not only does the patrol not show up, but the office doesn’t seem to care to make any attempt at addressing issues either unless it involves dog poop. I’d hate for there to be an actual emergency, I definitely wouldn’t rely on this apartment to care. I can’t wait to get out.

Everything was very nice at Alcove. I enjoyed the view, the management was attentive, and the upkeep was fine. It was in a very convenient location as well with walking distance to stores and restaurants. The only problem was parking. Most residents need two designated parking spaces. The only alternative is to park up by the street, which makes it hard unload anything. Competing for empty spaces near your door was a daily effort . I know there are not many spaces in the lot, and I understand the problem is not easily resolved.

I lived here for a year and loved it! The staff is great and the property is beautiful. The lake view is what brought me to Alcove and if I didnt get a job in the west valley, I never wouldve moved. The owners seem to really care about their assets, they have been doing upgrades to the property since they bought it in January. I highly recommend living here.

In the process of trying to lease an apartment i was completely discouragedby how they took their time in getting me approved,Providing that I make 3x the wages of the apartment that I was attempting to lease (never have i ever )Somehow (magically) the current leasing individuals where capable of renege moving out two weeks prior to move out date, and instead the complex tried leasing me AN APARTMENT I DIDNT ASK FOR ,theres nothing more than I hate than inattentivenessDuring this season of covid apartment complexes need to be more attentive and mindful to prospective leasing individuals ,after this run around im very fortunate that I had been in the process of getting approved with another complex which met my customer needs very promptly

When my air conditioner broke on a Saturday afternoon in August, Mike, the maintenance guy, was very quick to respond and came to repair it. He was not able to fix it immediately (a completely new air conditioner was needed) but came back with a portable unit so that the apartment would be comfortable until the new unit could be installed a couple days later. The office has been very helpful and friendly with whatever I have needed.

This place is absolutely ridiculous. We move here from across country to come to this place. We look at a unit that was an upgraded unit that had all the newer fixtures. Fine, we liked it so we wanted to get one by the lake. Fine, so we talked with Jessica and had a place ready for us to move into mid-November, calming that it was exactly like the renovated models. We talked over fees, and they claimed that it would be $1275 with the pet fees, and all other fees.Fast forward to about a week before we are supposed to move in. We make the 2700 mile trek across country only to find out that A - they were going to give us a non-renovated unit and that B - the total monthly cost to rent out a unit there is $1385. Dumbfounded as to where this additional amounts came from, the office claimed that that was what was originally quoted ( it was NOT ), and that to make it up they would give us another fully updated unit but without a lake front.The entire purpose of going there was to get the unit on the lake, for the quoted $1275. Now they are also refusing to give back our deposit of $250. They DID give us back $100 so they did do that. Other than that I would highly recommend NOT renting from these people. Stay far away.

My father called this place home for 2 years. I had my fair share of stays here as well. What drew him in was the beautiful lake views, readily available amenities, and convenient location. What kept him there was the impeccable customer service, attention to resident needs, and putting money back into the community (amenity upgrades, light bulbs, water conservation, etc.). Its rare you find an apartment complex that listens to and addresses your concerns, but Alcove has proven to deliver. The maintenance team, lead by Mike P., were very responsive, even on those 110 degree weekend days where the AC went out. You can find Andrew in maintenance always running around during the off hours taking care of residents, things like that get noticed by our family.

Sadly they offer a free Starbucks gift card or for somewhere else if you give them a good review.. that plus I believe there are reviewers with their one and only review being for this place which seems a bit staged to boost their star level. Anyways my experience here is long and lengthy. Thanks to health for problems I am sorta stuck here and not able to move for the moment at least. Every possible chance they jump to charge more money. I’m in my 60’s and have lived in quite a few apartments in my lifetime and after a couple years the normal is for them to offer a lease renewal discount for staying longer... not this one place. Price hike every lease renewal and always adding extra fees and taxes. Plus they charge you a monthly Islands community HOA fee. Maintenance requests have always been 2-4 days to get taken care of.

Was a fantastic community before it was bought out by the new management company. Prices were raised, they charged people to setup an online portal, a free service which many of us had before. They go weeks now without refilling/emptying the dog stations. Over the past two months I have gotten 8 notices that they would be entering my apartment for maintenance with a 3-5 day window each time, asking that all residents lock up animals. They expected me to cage my dog 8 hours a day for 3-5 day window. This was THE place to live, but in my experience it sadly no longer is.

This place is legit. The Lakeside view is nice and the ducks will make you laugh. The gym could be bigger but I’m just being selfish. 🤷🏽‍♂️😂Our move-in experience was a little shaky but we were able to clear things up.💯The maintenance team is AWESOME. Every time we put in a work order it gets knocked out within 24 hours; big thanks to MIKE and NICK - cool dudes who know what they’re doing. 👍Oh yeah, the management does cool apartment community events - we’re planning on winning the Halloween Decorating Contest, just FYI! 🎃

We have been here since July 2018. We absolutely love it. Maintenance is amazing CJ and Mike are who I have delt with, they are professional and excellent at their jobs. It is a wonderful community to be in.We have felt welcome and appreciated. I highly recommend living here. It is costly but well worth the money for the environment.We just hope they don;t bump the rent on us to much at lease time so we can continue living here for a long long time.

I have noticed over the last year or so they have been renovating and improving the facilities and work hard to create more of a community. Its a great place to live.

The property here is beautiful, yes. And the units are great as well. But all this property seams to care about is money. Dont let the sparkling water and green grass facade hypnotise you. They will gouge you for your money at every and any turn.. This price of the units are constantly changing, up over $200 in less than 24 hours for instance. Be wary.

I have never felt the need to file a bad complaint anywhere but this truly had been the WORST apartment experience Ive had. It didnt start off that way until new management took over at the beginning of the year. This place is in a beautiful quiet location and is conveniently down the road from a grocery store but the bad is really starting to out way the good.1. They will do everything they can to charge you just about anything. They have raised rent and unfortunately the longer you stay here the more they want to raise your rent. They charge you 7 dollars a month to receive packages in their new electronic mailboxes. If you have two vehicles and dont use one enough they will tow it without informing you and expect you to pay to get it back which happened twice to me both times while I was out of the country for no more than a week. They charge you to pay your rent online which the old management let you use for free.2. Poor quality in the amenities.Our dishwasher was not secured to the ground and didnt wash the dishes well at all. It eventually stopped working all together.The tub was painted over with hair and grime. The wall by our shower was deteriorated. The microwave constantly blowing a fuse.The painted cabinets have drips of paint everywhere like they rushed to paint.The cabinet by the sink where you wash dishes has paint falling off.We are constantly trying to kill huge cockroaches at least a few times a month.The toilet has to be flushed about 3 times before it actually goes down.The air conditioning cant go lower than 70 degrees and is constantly breaking down not getting any cooler than 90 degrees.They will take weeks before refilling the dog bags in their designated areas for animals to relieve themselves.The carpet edges have completely lifted up and weve have multiple guests as well as ourselves step on nails that have come loose in the carpet. We didnt even need a tool to take the nails hurting people out of the carpet so if you have kids or animals beware.3. Management is anything but help and is rude. They like to respond to your complaints with yeah and.. or they have every right to and have a not my problem attitude. They seem to look at their tenants as dollar signs and could careless about quality service.4. They seem to make themselves comfortable coming in your apartments often. This is especially an inconvenience for people who work nights. They have walked in on my girlfriend while she was undressed getting ready to shower. They said they had every right cause they gave use a notice but their notice literally was telling us that they can be in there at any moment between a 3 week span not giving us any exact days. They came in that day supposedly to give us new washer and driers and its been months where we still have yet to see our upgraded washer and drier. We have to dry clothes 2 or 3 times before they are actually dry. Since new management has taken over we have had multiple people barge in at least 6 or 7 times making us feel like we have no privacy.Yeah this place looks nice at first but this new management will treat you terribly and just make it feel unwelcoming while you spend extra money living here.

I could give less than one star if I could. I don’t ever give reviews but I HAD to for this one. Living here is a nightmare. The front office is anything BUT helpful. Asking for a manager gets you no where because she is very rude and unhelpful. The carpets are falling out, the walls in the bathroom are rotting and not to mention the roaches coming out of it, they PAINTED over the dirty bath (hair is under the paint), they promised new washer and dryer but nothing ever got fixed just workers who walked in my apt UNANNOUNCED. This all has happened in LESS than a year! Do yourself a favor and look somewhere else!!!

Completely love it here, Ive been living on the property for two years. It is quite and beautiful . The lake is a added plus, the surrounding community is beautiful. I even love the HOA, they are always having some kind of special event over at the park!! It like my Oasis in the desert!!!!! All the people working in the office have always been polite and respectful. Never a delay in getting things repaired. Only thing I have a issue with is the pet owners, they never clean up after their pets. So for the kids playing in the grassy areas are out of the question. I think management should get tougher on this issue!!! I should have to come out of my apartment and see dog poop!!!!

Tried to look at the property today. Arrived at 330pm, waited till 430pm. There was a sign saying the agent was out showing. That is completely understandable but, NO ONE EVER SHOWED. For someone who is relocating to the state and WAS extremely interested in your property this made our decision pretty easy. Needless to say we WILL NOT BE COMING BACK. Thanks for wasting an hour of our time.

It is perhaps a little unfair to judge my experience because it was during a change of management which meant a lot of interruptions for maintenance issues like installing GFI outlets, changing over light bulbs to LEDs, checking AC filters, etc. but my main complaint is that the new management did not have existing tenants sign a new contract and there were numerous expectations on their part that I did not feel were fair because they werent stated in the contract that I signed, such as docking the refundable security deposit of 500.00 by 90.00 for professional carpet cleaning and a maid sanitizing service. I researched tenant laws in AZ and unless fees are specified in the contract, the refundable security deposit cant be docked for normal living wear and tear expenses (such as carpet cleaning). It is a lovely complex and very quiet (I had an apartment overlooking the water). The parking spaces are narrow and inconvenient but at least they are covered. The office hours were better with the new management but very unfortunate that there is no interest in maybe overlapping shifts so that the lounge area with a pool table can be available longer hours. It is pretty useless having it open only from 9 to 6. I never once saw anyone enjoying the pool table and only once in 6 months did I see someone watching the large screen TV in the lounge. Why offer a lounge that can only be used a small portion of the day when most people are at work? Monthly rent includes an HOA fee so I would expect a little more interest on their part making the amenities more available. But at least tenants are given a key to the fitness machines. if you are thinking of renting there, make sure you understand all the little details such as the 60 day notice they expect if you are not going to renew your lease (my original contract said 30 and I didnt read thoroughly a notice they sent out that I had to give 60 days so I got stuck paying an extra month. No mercy!). Also, ask them about the non-refundable portion of your refundable security deposit, but maybe the new lease will include that in the non-refundable fee portion of your contract so that you wont be unpleasantly surprised as I was.

We lived here for 2 1/2 years and it was awful! Maintenance sucks! I called about getting our guest bathrooms toilet fixed three times and all three times they just replaced a part and called it a day. The toilet still was broken from the day we moved in til the day we left. Dont get me started on the Office staff. They do not communicate and tried to charge us different amounts for rent each month. We started off paying $820 a month, which was pretty high for an outdated apartment with so many problems, and left paying almost $1,200!!!! Neighbors were disgusting and left BAGS of week old trash right outside their door, other neighbors would get high and party til 5am! Those walls are super thin. You can hear EVERYTHING! We moved out May 2015 at the end of our lease and I am still receiving a bill for rent for every month. Get it together! For as much as you people charge I better get a dang unicorn that poops glitter.

Unhappy former resident - Horrible communication. They lose paperwork and claim that youre in the wrong (even though they cash checks without delay). I moved in here late September with my two roommates. We have lived in apartments before but never have we had the complex send out a notification saying that the Management is going to to a walk thru in our apartment. To me it just feels like an invasion of privacy. On top of that the rates are very high. I would recommend living somewhere cheaper, the maintenance is not good and the condition of the apartment wasn’t all that good when we got it either. It’s a high price for low quality.

Alcove is an amazing complex. The first apt I lived in was horrible once moved to alcove I have never wanted to move to another apt complex. Office staff and maintenance people are always so kind and willing to help.

My friend lives here and the facility is nice. The pool area is chill. There are a bunch of grills scattered around the property so you will always find a place to cook up. I only heard one complaint from my friend that lives here about the maintenance claims not being handled in a timely manner. His A/C had gone out when it was hot and it took forever to fix it. I think he even stayed away from the apartment during those days. All bad. Otherwise, clean complex and the apartments are cozy.

My experience was absolutely TERRIBLE with this place. To start it off, I called to ask first and foremost about my pets. I have a boxer & husky. I asked at LEAST 4 different types about pet restrictions which they every time said they were not on the list. Now that I have done my application, paid holding fees/app fees, sent pay stubs, etc. they tell me huskies are not allowed. They which then did not refund me any of my three applications fees. Extremely unprofessional & really glad I found out sooner. Would hate to even give you guys any business. I would go lower than a 1 star rating, but simply not possible.

Horrible place to live, cabinet door were falling off, a/c kept breaking down they did minor fixes to keep it going, But they are to cheap to fix anything. Rent was way to high, so mant rediculus fees. Our kids couldnt even play outside without a complaint. This place is horrible! Do not move here!! I moved because they tried to charge extra fees for all sorts of stuff. Just sad all about money not the tenants.

I’ll be frank: I had a bad experience living at Alcove at the Islands. That said, there are some good things about the complex, so I’ll start with those:1. The complex itself is really nice. It’s mostly quiet and right up against the water, which makes for nice walking with your dog (if you have one).2. The location is great as well. It’s a quiet neighborhood right across the street from a huge park. You’re also quite close to downtown Chandler and Gilbert.3. The units themselves are solid. Clean and relatively well maintained. In particular, the washer/dryer were probably the best I’ve ever had in a rental.4. I never had any issues with the office staff (note: NOT the management) despite having to make several calls to complain.So there are good things about this place. But the negatives far outweigh the positives:1. Pests. They are pretty common for apartments in the Valley. I saw more than a few roaches (never an infestation though), but I had a particularly bad problem with flies coming up from my drains. They go away in a couple days, but the pest people basically told me there was nothing they could do about them.2. The dishwasher didn’t work at all (mold problems, didn’t clean or dry well, funky smell). When I contacted maintenance about it, they only put a cleaner in it, which obviously didn’t work. So I just stopped using it, which was a pain.3. Most of the other problems I had with Alcove at the Islands are related to the management and, especially, the property management company, AMC. They were, bar none, the worst property management company I’ve dealt with.4. For one, they are unbelievably rude. The tone of their community newsletters/notices is appalling. They have referred to their own tenants as “riff raff,” and they threaten eviction for every conceivable reason. Also, I don’t have kids, but they seem to have a real problem with “unaccompanied dependents,” as they call them, so I would look elsewhere for a family-friendly complex.5. They come into your apartment A LOT. After I first moved in, I found a note on my door saying that they needed access to my apartment from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. M-F for a period of about a month. Pets were supposed to be kenneled during that time. Completely ridiculous. (And, yep, they threatened eviction if your pet wasn’t secured.)6. Right before I moved out, they advertised “electronic package lockers” as a helpful new service. They cost $7 a month—and after they were installed, the office would stop accepting packages. So they’re basically charging $7 a month to be able to receive secure packages (not just at your doorstep).7. If they can find a way to charge you for something, they will. That’s all they seem to care about: money.8. Speaking of which, the most frustrating thing was when I moved out. I only lived there for 6 months and left the unit in good shape. No damages, no messes, nothing. Again, I was only there for 6 months. But they tried to charge my over $300 in “move-out” fees (apparently for cleaning, painting, etc.). These fees were at all not explained in my lease. The management tried to claim they needed to “sanitize” the unit, but this was a blatant cash grab. I went over their heads to the AMC corporate office and got the fees slashed in half, but $150 in cleaning fees for a 6-month stay is ridiculous.All in all, this is a complex to avoid. Don’t be fooled by the nice grounds/area. For the money you pay (and the rent isn’t cheap), the headache of dealing with the management/AMC just isn’t worth it. Stay away from this place.

The neighbors are great! However, the first set office of people were usually rude, but kept the grounds clean, then office manager changed and the grounds became dirty and unkept. Then, new management took over this year, the new office people were friendly, but gave little to no notification on events that affect the residents, like entering apartments and tearing up sidewalks in front of my apartment. When I went in to pay my final rent, they talked about charging me for moveout things that were not in my contract with original management. New management does not communicate well. Maintenance does not know what they are doing. It took five separate appointments for them to stop my toilet from leaking. They finally put in a new tank, but, it still took two flushes to flush waste down, the maintenance guy said this was ok because his does the same. It wasted a lot of water.I am glad I moved out.

AMC took over and it’s not the same ! The place is turning into a low income housing project . Work orders are delayed ! PB Bell always did it’s best to help the tenants and now it’s just garbage . Gilbert is a nice community I wish AMC was more selective with its staff and the ppl they rent too.

If this is really the owner thats writing these responses, I would like to talk to you personally about my experience. I was all set to move in to my apartment, packed up my life and LITERALLY drove across the country only to find out that my apartment wasnt available for another 3-4 weeks due to renovation. So as an owner, how would you handle this? I show up and have no place to live. What would your solution be to keep your future tenant happy? And can you answer this question without calling the office to see how they responded my situation? And would you call me back personally and try to make this right? Fyi... I have contacted the BBB with my complaint.

Just moved out of the apt complex after 1 year. They are wanting to charge me $635.04 owed to the property....for what!? Minor wear and tear on the carpet. Thats it. Living here was alright but the aftermath of tge move out is not. Ive never had this issue before.

This place is beyond RIDICULOUS initial move in my rent would be $1405 but pay roughly $1600 monthly.... however thats neither here nor there I live on the 1st floor 3bd and my apartment is leaking.... I mean showers of water......called to make a complain and they told me the place was built a long time ago and there isnt much can be done..... youve got to be kidding me and I am paying 1600 a month for what to put a umbrella inside my house to get sheltered from the leaks that they wont fix on the 2nd floor....... DONT RENT HERE!!!!!!!......................Transferred to a new unit with the new mgmt and they are trying to charge me for moving out fee even though i had paid it to my insured company which they have a copy of the contract on the file.
