My husband and I signed a lease with this apartment because it was one of the cheapest options in the area. Not worth it at all.1. Management doesnt really seem to care about its residents, and was never really helpful or friendly any time I reached out to them about anything.2. Really not a secure place - they have a gate but it only really worked a few months out of the 1 year I was living there, so they kept it completely opened for the rest of the time including overnight.3. None of the residents seem to clean up after their dogs, so you see dog poop around all the time. Occasionally management sent a gentle reminder, but lol never really worked.4. On a rainy day, there was a HUGE trail of ants that was coming through our apartment (in the hundreds) late at night and they wouldnt stop coming out from some corner for hours. There must have been a colony in the walls. It was insane and we ended up staying at a hotel because they were ALL over our apartment and I got bit a few times. When we told management about it the next day, they made us wait 5 days for the scheduled pest control to come because they didnt consider it an emergency.Oh and a weird thing happened when we moved in - they tried to make us sign a paper about the move-in condition that THEY filled out themselves when we hadnt seen the condition of our apartment yet. Seemed like they were trying to scam us from the start.The ONLY great thing about this complex was the maintenance staff - they were so nice and quick to respond whenever we put in a maintenance request.Its 100% worth it to spend the little extra money and signing a lease somewhere other than Sonoma Landing - youll get much better facilities and management who cares about their residents needs.

I wish I could say nice things about this place. They are luxury only in name. There was nothing but maintenance issues the day I moved in. Things were mostly band-aided and returned to being issues. Jessica Alexander is the worst community manager I have encountered in my adult life. The front gate was always open. About a month before I was to move out, they left the gate open when the left the gate open over night and my vehicle was broken into. Also with the last month, I attempted pay my final payment, I couldnt log into my account. I notified Jessica Alexander and she told me that she reset my account password herself and was able to login so they charged me a late fee. Jessica also sent me the password she reset without my request over plain text which is a violation of federal PCI payment processing standards as the password can easily be stolen over email, my account logged into, and my financial information stolen. Once I got into the account, I was able to see all of the names, addresses, and phone numbers of the applicants that had been applying for the apartment. I am in the process of holding them accountable for their violations. This place and its management are a complete shame. They use fear tactics to get every single penny they can out of residents while raising the cost of rent each year while doing nothing to improve the apartments and community.

Overpriced but not well maintained. A luxury apartment they say but its anything but. I had to clean for three days before I moved in. No garbage disposal and the bathtub faucets werent working.Pass on this complex.

The Gilbert location is lovely! We have had no problems while here so far. We just had a maintenance person, Robby, come and look at our dishwasher in a timely manner. Robby was quick, friendly, and professional. He did what he could to fix it and opted to just replace it for is. Great service! Thanks Robby!

Ive only lived at Sonoma for a couple months. So far, its a nice community. The best experience Ive had so far, has been with Robby, their maintenance technician. Hes courteous, friendly, and takes care of issues FAST!

This apartment could actually be decent for the price but the management is terrible. Everything is done super cheap and they nickel and dime for everything. Ive had to put in more service requests then any apartment Ive ever lived in. Also had to put in requests multiple times for the same thing. Its funny that they try to call it Luxury Apartments when everything is super cheap and low quality. Worst part is management though its been the worst experience Ive ever had with apartments. I definitely wont be renewing.

I have lived in the sonoma landing apartments for 12 years now and I have really liked it! I moved in after getting divorced and one thing that I really have appreciated is the fact that I feel safe and secure living here. Any maintenance requests have been taken care of in a timely manner and the few times I have had a maintenance emergency like my air conditioning going out, they are extremely quick to figure out the issue and get it fixed as soon as possible. The complex is quiet and hardly any issues that involve police in a negative manner. The office staff is really friendly and easy to talk to!

Sonoma not only has a fun and kind community, they have great workers. The workers are on top of everything all day. Making sure to keep things up to date and fixed. Robby was a big help when my dishwasher broke. He put in for a new one and it was deliver and installed within a couple of days. That was huge for me because when taking care of children there are a lot of dishes to be done! Thanks Robby!

I love living at Sonoma Landing! It is a great Gilbert location and my kids can walk to the Highland Schools. There’s a lot of closet space inside and storage and covered parking is included, which is nice! I always feel safe while at the community!

My family has to complain about the pool for days/weeks before it’s clean enough to swim in. If you’re thinking about moving here know that the high price of rent is for the location (Gilbert), and not the quality of the apartment.

I’ve only been living here for about 2 months now and it’s been a dream. Everyone is so friendly, neighbors are wonderful! I had a few issues in my home but they were corrected in a very timely manner. My dog was picked for pet of the month and I love that they are making this a special home for him too! Bravo!

I love living here and the staff Jessica,Colin,Claudia are professional, they will help you in any way they can, and they are so nice,kind,generous!!! I would recommend living here because theres all things you need to shop,eat, and etc near by this apartment!

From the moment that I met the office staff when I came to tour the property through a major health battle and then through a worldwide pandemic the staff Sonoma Landing it’s by the far the best staff any community could ever ask for. They have taken care of the residence and even spoiled us by having food catered in, shaved ice and whatever else they could dream in their imaginations to ease what we were all going through. They worked with so many of us financially and never made us afraid of losing our home.

Ive lived on this property for 12 years.2 years in a three-bedroom with my daughter and grandson and 10 years in a one bedroom (Great floor plan!) In all these years the staff has been wonderful, sweet, courteous, patient, and always ready to serve even to the point of going out of their way. Great place to live!

From the first moment I was introduced to Sonoma Landing Luxury Apartments, I knew the complex and staff would become family. I felt a sense of warmth and sincerity from the staff immediately. While I am based in New York and Washington, D.C, Arizona has become another home for me as I care for my mother specifically during COVID19. The Sonoma Landing staff is superb - very caring, attentive to my requests and needs, always executes above and beyond to make me and my family feel welcomed as new residents, and most of all, I feel the complex is safe.Most recently, after being in quarantine for six months, I traveled for the first time to perform for the 2020 Republican National Convention for the official re-nomination of President Trump and Vice-President Mike Pence. Upon my return, there was a note from the staff filled with warmth and kindness.I want to publicly thank Colin, Jessica, and Claudia - the Sonoma Landing staff - for their kindness, care, and leadership. They are a dynamic team - individually and collectively exercising the utmost professionalism and just so kind. I also want to thank the Sonoma Landing maintenance crew - Joe, Robby, Brandon, and Dwayne. They are always responsive and have been very thorough for the few requests I have submitted.Neighbors are kind. Complex overall is quiet. This was important to me as my other homes across the country are not apartments and I was concerned about excessive noise. The public spaces (business center, fitness center, movie theatre, etc.) are remodeled and beautiful. And again, most of all, I always feel safe as I come in and out of the complex.Lastly, Sonoma Landing and the parenting company Weiner Apartment Homes have been very understanding and kind during the coronavirus season. First of all the only luxurious part of these apartments is the out side the pool is awesome and the landscaping is nice but the apartment itself is being held together with Hopes and dreams one toilet is not bolted to the ground one toilet runs all day no matter what you do the second day here there were ants all over the dining room the third day there were cockroaches everywhere the kitchen cabinets are super old and ghetto the bathtub spout doesnt work so my kids cant take a bath in the master bath there is visible water damage all over the unit on the baseboard and the cabinets. the seals to the windows are falling out my back door doesnt close without it being locked and those are just the things we have noticed in the first week we have lived here we moved in 5 days ago and has been nothing but problems this place needs to be upgraded bad!

I enjoy living at Sonoma Landing. The Leasing Office, with Colin, Jessica, and Mary, are helpful in every way. Each month, they offer new and fun activities for the apartment community to participate in. Also, Joel and Gabriel, are very courteous, professional, and prompt, when addressing your maintenance requests. The grounds are kept clean and orderly. Sonoma Landing is centrally located to Mesa, Chandler, and not too far from Phoenix.I would highly recommend it!!!😊

I rented here from August 2015 until May 31st 2019 apartment #1071. Loved this place but don’t recommend renting from here if Jessica Alexander works here. It was very well kept and super clean. I loved living here until and office staff member started kind of messing with me . I work 10 hour days don’t have any pets and always paid my rent. I have no idea why Jessica was so mean to me. And it sucks being stuck renting when someone in the office does things on purpose to you. There are a lot of nice places more upgraded too that you can rent from with good office staff too. A family member of mine passed and I inherited a truck that I never drove my boyfriend did more than I ever did but most of the time it just sat. I didn’t realize the tags had expired and Jessica had my truck towed without any notice I talked to the Director Colin and he apologized and told me they are required to give us 24 hour notice. I never got a call, email or a sticker on the window. I had to pay almost 200.00 to have it towed back because it wasn’t running. Later I decided I needed more storage space so I rented one of the smaller storage units and I asked if I wanted to upgrade later to a bigger one if I could cancel renting the small one and I was told I could. When I decided to upgrade and asked her to remove the smaller unit she told me “you can’t, you have to pay for both storages now” I was later told by the Director when I asked him about it and he said that was also not true and I could remove it at anytime. She also tried to force my boyfriend on my lease who lives across town and rents his own place she accused the truck that she towed of being his also, I offered to show her the title and also offered to show her his lease. She got very ugly with me and continued to tell me that truck was his I have no idea why she was this way with me I still don’t. It is very sad because I did like living there but I was not the only person in the complex that dreaded dealing with her and being stuck in a lease there. Needless to say she’s what motivated us to move in together and buy a house. Just really think about what you’re committing to if u sign a lease at Sonoma Landing. All other office staff was a pleasure it was just that one person who kind of ruined it because she was kind of a bully. Colin the Director was a pleasure and was aware of the situation unfortunately it was after Jessica had already had my truck towed and lied about the storage situation. He did apologize for what she did already.

I lived at Sonoma for about 9 mo, and I loved every day of it. My apartment was absolutely stunning when I moved in. The Manger Colin and the Assistant Jessica, are super nice and genuine, they made my experience there a great one. The Service Manger Joel is dedicated to site standards and my work orders are always addressed quickly. I definitely recommend this community.

My husband and I moved here from California Dec 2015. I never saw the place before renting it so all I could do is pray it was like the pics and it was a safe place to live. I was more than impressed when we pulled up and it was just as beautiful as the photos, the apartment was fantastic. The people that work in the office are so sweet, kind and work hard for you. The maintenance guys are amazing Ive lived in apartments most of my life and have never seen such pride in the property before moving here. Maybe its an Arizona thing but what ever it is I love it. Leaving California to move here was by far the best move we ever made. Weve been here now 16 months and I have not had any complaints. Its such a nice change to really enjoy where you live.

This place kind of sucks. the people in the office are friendly, if they are open. they regularly close before they are posted to close. There is absolutely NO free parking on the site. The lots FLOOD. The billing is incredibly unorganized. The walls are thin.AAAAnd they up the price for rent from year to year so high - Ive got 2 more months on my rent and am excited to move!A week later and no assistance! Plus this company is absolutely incapable of knowing when their third party contractors show up!

I really love the apartment complex in general. When I was looking for a place to live, I saw some of the negative comments, but to be honest, I have yet to encounter most of those problems. I have never had an issue with the folks at the front office. They have actually bent over backwards to help me out.They have good amenities and fun monthly activities.I will highly suggest getting a top floor apartment though!!!The only downfall of this place so far is that the walls are paper thin. I can hear my neighbor across the hall (and no we do not share any walls). The kids in the pool sound like they are screaming inside my apartment, but the good thing is that they are usually out of the pool at a decent time, but the people above me sound like elephants are stampeding around 24/7. To give you an idea of how thin the floors are....I can here the cat spastically running around every now and then above me.Other than that issue, like I said before I have enjoyed living here.Oh and the 1 bedrooms are really spacious FYI!

I have lived here 2 years. I would sign another lease. The grounds have improved but the complex can only do so much. It is more about responsible dog owners cleaning up. Which has improved. The pools are very clean, playground is kept clean and safe, well maintained facilities with relatively new gym equipment. Maintenance calls are handled very quickly and I am very comfortable with any of these men coming in my home. The demographics are mixed but a lot of families. Even so, it is quiet even at the pools.Ashley in the office has been my go to from day 1. She is sweet, professional, and handles business. Others in the office are fake and have no problem not hiding their distatste for me. But I will live.All in all, I am very happy with my time here. I would stay if I could get into a first floor. Also my rent increased $100 when I resigned but didnt move. The guy who resigned (Ashleys day off) was new but didnt smile once. Still not sure he has.... I would stay if there were no more increases, may be incentive as a long term renter, and it is just really expensive to rent anywhere.

So for the past year Ive lived here, no real issues, I feel Ive been a great tenant. We get our lease renewal and the management company wants to increase the rent, because thats the best rate we can give.Ok... hold on, youre increasing the rent, if we stay... for what? Im confused?For the last few months theyve been dealing with vandalism , tenants cars being egged. Oh and my neighbor just came out last week to find his truck on cinder blocks as his tires were stolen.The building I am in continuously smells like someone is smoking pot, when its not a 420 friendly community.Courtesy patrol is a joke.Theyre increasing the rent to make me want to stay even more. Good plan. *thumbs up* I would love to stay, but sadly that may not happen until they fix their rate issue.

The region is great While we are 5 minutes away from a major shopping district, a huge movie theater and various freeways, we enjoy a quiet neighborhood without city noise. My neighbors have all been pleasant thus far and the grounds, playground, grills and pools are always well kept when we need to use them.Parking can be a little tricky sometimes, but I dont have to park too far, generally. I love the layout of our 2 bedroom apartment. We love the feature of an open kitchen, with a family area feel into the family and dining rooms, as well as the way the bedrooms are all able to have their own space. The water heater closet space is very nice to have as well.UPDATE: Ive now lived here coming on two years, and in reviewing other reviews left on this site, a lot of complaints stem from alleged lack of attention and care. As someone thats greatly enjoyed this location, I can confirm that the maintenance team is ALWAYS prompt and quick to address any needs Ive come across during my stay. Secondly, I have had no bug problems and take advantage of pest control at least once every couple of months - because why not, its free. The only thing I really miss is a couple of trees that used to be next to our apartment until a recent storm took them out, but thats just nature taking its course. It would be nice to have a couple new trees there but overall the grounds are very well kept.

Literally the worst place I’ve ever lived, the pools have so much cleaner in them they dye your hair green after 1 session of swimming, not exaggerating, the parking is terrible, management is extremely rude, especially Jessica, she needs to have been fired yesterday, she has put off so many residents here. Not to mention this complex is built right on the spill way and spells like sewer anytime it rains. Steer clear of this place, plenty of places to live out there with better management and better maintained.

Beware! I give this place a thumbs down!!! Before you decide to rent at this apartment complex, do some research. The office staff is unprofessional, rude and unapproachable. Especially Jessica Alexander for being an assistant Manager she definitely does not have the qualifications for this position. They don’t answer the phone, or emails and if they do finally decide to respond they are rude about it! Then after continuous issues with the office staff ..you attempt to contact the regional office to be told to leave a message for Crystal who is the manager for that apt complex! Now at this point you may be able to resolve any issues especially after providing a brief description of your issues and thinking Crystal Who’s position is management for the regional office to address these type of issues.. so does your call get returned? NO! Weeks later still no return call from Crystal! This is absolutely ridiculous and now it make sense why this apt complex staff can careless and continues to treat customers this way! There is no excuse for this type treatment..regardless if you’re a current tenant or past!! I have done my research customer service should be a priority! The reviews are current/past tenants expressing frustration regarding front office staff rudeness and management does nothing to address any of the issues! This is public information But this company was part of a law suit, for charging excessive late fees Which required them to change their policy! So before you decide to rent here ..just so you know if there are any sort of issues with the office staff, be prepared for management company to do absolutely nothing about it.... enter at your own risk!

The people in the office are really nice however they have raised the rent so much and have done nothing to improve inside the apartments. they have never updated even once since they were built and have no intention of upgrading. yet they continue to up the rent and this year for us they upd it more than $100.00 a month. we had no option but to sign again because we didnt have the money to move but now we know what they plan on doing to everyone we will not sign again. my husband and I are looking at either buying a house or renting one but either way, this will be our last year here. Ive looked at other apartments for the rent they are charging here and they are really upgraded and beautiful. I suggest you look elsewhere. Im, not the only resident who is planning on moving out as soon as they can.

Everything is always broken. Place charges to much for what they offer in the apartments. Old brown carpet, stove and microwave from the early 2000s, the bath tub and sink are painted over and have chipping. For what they charge your better going to Aviva apartments newly designed and modern about 1 mile away. Every other week or month something break. From the sink leaking water, the washer machine flooding the rooms and living room, the AC not pushing cold air during the hot summer. And the power goes out almost every 3 weeks. And right now my garbage disposal does not work and the sink is leaking, flooding the bottom cabinets and there is no way to do the dishes. Overall this place needs highly renovation and is outdated.

Nice , quiet, safe complex. The staff is great and maintanance has come same day to fix the couple issues over the past 7 years. The pool is kept up well and the trees around the property provide a lil shade. Overall a great place to live , also with a gilbert address on the mesa gilbert boarder.

12/2019 UPDATE: [[[[[Its been an interesting 2 years since I posted the original review, my reviews are fair and looked at as a whole. The apartment complex has taken the steps needed to improve everything they do here. I believe the management truly care about the residents and want to make the property better. Unfortunately you cant please everyone from looking at the reviews. Ive lived at the property for years. Ive taken the time to understand how things work and to ask what they are doing to improve the property. Ive plugged other residents concernes into the ear of the office and watched them take steps to better the property. This place isnt perfect, buy it is much better than a 3.3 rating. This property is a solid 4 star. I love living here had enjoy the staff in the office.]]]]]]] This is a good place to live, there are some good and some other things that need to be worked on. I am an observer, I look at everything as a whole. The things that need to be worked on might be due to a missing factor, there is a courtesy patrol that exists at the complex. One lady used to walk around at night with her dog and the hat on. She was really nice and got on these kids that were trying to break things. She has moved out and I dont see anyone patrolling anymore, this void should be filled because I do notice issues that didnt happen when she was here, she made sure people were held accountable. I wish the front office would put a package slip in your mailbox to notify you that there is a package in the office being held for you from ANY delivery service they rely on the delivery guys who dont always put a notification on your door .Now to the good part, I love the little events they hold on the weekends for the community, the maintenance guys know me and where I live, they are super nice and always say hi. The turn time on maintenance request are fast. If there is something that needs to be rescheduled the front office and the maintenance guys both let me know. I love having the gas grills to cook on available for the community. The gym is brand new and the water fountain has a bottle dispenser that is always cold! These apartments are dated and need to be renovated. Appliances are in need of replacement and show visible signs of wear and tear (touch up paint , chips, cracks, and dents on stove and refrigerator). Counter tops show signs of previous water damage and swelling at the joints. Carpets are aged and were not replaced upon new tenant move-in. Pictures of the property on the website are misleading and a lot of my neighbors smoke cigarettes (smoker friendly property). Walls are thin so you will hear all neighbor activity. Coming from a Mark Taylor property I knew that I would have to lower my expectations if I wanted to pay less money in rent but I continue to struggle with this reality every month.

Overpriced apartments for what you actually get. If we wanted to renew our lease, it would be an extra $100/month on top of what we are currently paying. The premises are littered with dog poop and trash. One time I even found a used condom in the patch of grass near our unit and it did not get picked up for 3 days. Maintenance starts at 7 am so if you work late be prepared to be woken up by multiple leaf blowers and chainsaws. They charged us an extra months rent for only giving 15 days notice of not renewing, even though we agreed on an initial 11 months (we are now paying for 12 months even though our move-out date remains the same.) I have made over 8 maintenance requests in the last 10 months, 3 of which were for the same issue. For the price you pay here you can find nicer apartments in a much more convenient location. Would not recommend.

Barely been here two months and its already starting to be a huge pain living here. As a first apartment the choice seemed obvious at first but obviously was a very misguided decision. First off it always smells like cow manure at night and in the mornings. Which obviously turns us off every time we come home, its embarrassing to have guests over and we try to avoid it all costs because of it.Secondly apparently were not allowed to have a mosquito net up because it inconveniences them and the other residents. Im sorry if I offended anyone I didnt realize protecting ourselves from mosquitos was a crime. If you want us to take it down so bad how about you fix the mosquito problem? While youre at it fix your bug problem too.We come home everyday to bugs all over our house.In addition to this we never more than 10 minutes of hot water before its raining a cold mess of sadness in our shower. Lastly the biggest annoyance is paying rent. Oh God where I start. They ask for the full amount at the end of the month as one might expect, thats not the problem the problem is well pay it but they wont take it out of account or process for like a week afterwards. For example they wanted our water bill so we paid it but apparently the account we provided had a typo so it never took it out on time because they dont attempt to take like 6 days after wards so by the time it realizes its the wrong account information and they have the audacity to charge us a late fee due to their shady and screwed up system. We are absolutely apalled at the kind of problems weve encountered in only a mere two months of being here. Who knows what shady misfortunes theyll force upon us for the rest of our lease. Whatever you DO NOT MOVE HERE. Its absolutely ridiculous.

I am a 25y/o veteran, who was looking for a place to live post college graduation. I was a perspective renter until I had a family member check the place out in person for me (as I am currently out-of-state). On the surface this place seems great, the website claims multiple available units, great amenities and friendly staff.The website and its claims of availability are extremely in-accurate. I was looking at a 2x2 and planned on moving in after I got back in-state from college. Eger with anticipation, I had a family member stop by to see what the layout was like. They attempted to call several times to arrange an appointment, left voicemails, yet heard no response until, by some miracle, a staff member picked up the phone. The staff first said that no viewings would be possible that day due to rain. They then stated that no two bedrooms are available and that I would have to go through the application process, be placed on a waiting list, and hope that a unit became available when I needed to move in.To me the rain excuse is just pure laziness, not having the website up-to-date is poor management and is also grounds for possible legal ramification; do to the intentional distribution of misleading information to attract potential clientele, also known as bait and switch. I am sure that Weidner Apartment Homes, the corporation who owns Sonoma Landing, would not be at all pleased with this locations poor management abilities.I digress, and conclude by simply saying, if you are looking for a great place to live, look elsewhere.
