Great Experience and Laid Back Atmosphere. The guys at the Studio, Tim Zick the Engineer, Nills the owner, and Tyler who takes care of their online posts and information were very down to earth and easy to work with. If you need a place to record something whether it be Simple or Complex I would highly recommend spending your time and money with these Highly Skilled, and very knowledgeable individuals. We will definitely be using these guys in the very near future for some more projects.

This place is great! Nils is knowledgeable, skilled, and very helpful. Most recently, took in an early 70s pioneer receiver and a technics turntable from about the same year. The receiver had a left channel going in and out and generally a pretty bad crackle. Just got them back and they sound amazing! Friendly, competent, and super cool. Highly recommend them for work on any audio equipment.

The owner is about as knowledgeable as you will find on vintage gear and probably has that item you are looking for an Omaha mecca for recording and a historical monument in my opinion! Stop in youll be happy you did !

Mark and Nils are very friendly and love to talk audio. Thanks to them, I have some functioning inherited cabinet speakers. They told me that they would work on them as soon as possible and actually finished before the deadline they gave me. I asked for an explanation as to the details of the repair and they really seemed to enjoy going into depth as to how everything was done. Thanks!

Omaha landmark recording studio since 1976 ! yes they sell new equipment but they have tons of vintage & unique audio gear. Famous bands have recorded there, the place just has so much history & cool vintage stuff to see! Ive been a customer of Nils since my first high school garage band back in early 70s when he was building Furnace Sound speakers in his garage and moms basement. You cant go wrong with Rainbow Recording Studios, years of experience with recording, recording equipment, pro sound & lighting, guitars amps, keyboardselectronic repair, speaker reconing they pretty much do it all. Great place !

This guy is a master on powered amplifiers and head units. Hes got one of everything in that place... But hes very proud its more like his own sanctuary of personal collectibles. Still definitely worth checking out!

I began in October, 2017 by going to Rainbow to see if it would be possible to listen to some old records from the early 1940 of family members. If there was something there, then I would want to transfer the recordings to a new media format. I said I was willing to pay for the time and transfer. I was told that the engineer would be contacting me. He never did. I made three more phone calls and was promised each time that the engineer would be in touch. No calls. If this was simply something that they held little interest in I could understand, but just say so and quit wasting my time. I went to Fuse Recording in Lincoln, within two weeks I was in the studio listening to the recordings.

I used to really love this place, even if they can be a bit overpriced. I bought one of my first bass amps here, bought my drum mics for my first demo here. But my last visit I was absolutely robbed. I brought this $200 dollar 2x15 bass cab to either sell or trade for a 1x15 to go with my new 4x10. Nils traded me an old Crate that must have been there for years. It sounded a little odd but I figured it would sound better with my Ampeg SVT CL. I was wrong the speaker was way worse with me setup. So I messaged Nils on Facebook where he originally messaged me about the 2x15. I asked if there was anything he could do. I figured maybe he’d hook me up with a different cab or even fix the speaker. At that point a refund wasn’t even on my mind. Nils neglected to reply to me and removed this profile. Well guess I need to be cautious who deal with.

Nils is a character of historical mirth...lots of fun and informed insights. The studio is a museum in and of itself. Worth a moment in time!

Nils and crew at Rainbow are a gem that the Midwest is fortunate to have. They always have what you need and or can find one. I highly recommend always going to them first for all of your instrument, pro-audio or recording needs!

I have been stopping by Rainbow on and off for 35 years. Nils has always been generous and giving of his time and knowledge. Stores like this are rare and that is a shame. I brought my son in about a year ago, ( he is a geetar picker). His mind was blown. Now him and his young musician friends make it a definite stop any time they are in the city. So, greeting from beautiful Homer Ne. Nils, keep Rainbow doing what it do. See you soon. Rock on.Bill Mc.

Worst business in the industry I have ever encountered. Horrible service, from the owner on down. Zero service skills and basically robbed me of $300. Funny, because in conversations, they constantly put down their competitors, yet I guarantee their competitors would have never treated me the way Rainbow did. AVOID at all costs---Thanks Nils for ripping me off.
