I was gifted a very special medal after my grandma passed away a couple of weeks ago and needed to get it reinforced since its a 60+ year old piece of jewelry and the ring where the necklace goes through was thinning.I looked all over San Diego to find the perfect place where theyll treat it with so much care since its such a big piece for me, its an heirloom.I talked to Wayne, brought him the medal and he was super honest and explained to me what he was going to do to it, he was clear about the risks and possible outcomes after treating the medal but assured me he will take care of it and Ill be happy.Something about his energy gave me the peace of mind that even if theres a risk for darkening he would do his absolute best to prevent it.He put a hook where the new necklace could pass through and honestly he did magic. I cant even describe what he did because it feels like magic.Well, what can I say? I cried when I saw the end result. He brought a 60+ year medal back to life!Thank you Wayne.

My wedding ring needed some repairs to the setting holding the small diamonds and the large diamond was reset into a new setting. After a few unfortunate mistakes by my regular jeweler (a well known shop in RB), I found myself looking for another jeweler closer to home in escondido. The jeweler who made my repairs (a lost stone in my wedding band and a couple of rings sized up to fit) did a flawless job and quickly at that. I was looking for an experienced jeweler to find a unique and non-traditional engagement ring. I wasn’t sure what that would be but I knew I didn’t want to be told what I need by.a chain jewelry store. Wayne spent time with me to talk about options and my vision. In the end he helped me find a ring that was perfect and even was the lowest cost option. He was so down to earth and low pressure. This shop is a gem unto itself. I spent a few days going to every mall jewelry store in Escondido, Carlsbad, Fashion Valley, and Mission Valley only to be up sold at every store and to be shown everything that I did not want. Since I don’t really wear jewelry I wanted something simple but despite that request I was shown rings with meteor rocks as part of it and some very flamboyant rings that even Liberace might have turned down. My simple request for a simple ring was ignored everywhere until I came in and spoke with Maria. She didn’t try to up-sell me with any moon rocks and explained the difference between the different metals and the reason for the difference in cost for the options they gave me. Save yourself the time and hassle of being sold a ring by someone reading the Information off a catalog and go to Wayne and Maria who didn’t have to ask a manager after each question I had regarding a ring I was interested in.Thanks again Maria.

Bobs has been around forever and I always get jewellery from here. I had an old worn ring that I wanted to see if they could restore. It was sorry looking it had rust and dirt inside and there was a huge deep scratch on the band. I didnt think it would come up to be the amazing ring it once was....i was so wrong the ring was if I just bought it!!!! It was beautiful the scratch was gone!! Love you guys! you know Ill be back♡

Bobs Gem Shop is a tucked back in a little shopping center and you might drive right by it if you are not familiar with the location. This is a store is a true gem and you dont want to miss if you love beautiful eye candy! They have done repairs for me and I always feel like the service is honest, genuine with a quick turn around. Their diamonds are dreamy and I always have to see whats new but what often draws my attention equally are the cases with estate jewelry displayed. When I need a quick gift (did I say for myself?) , I can always find something really special.... a gorgeous sterling silver cuff with a moonstone on it was my last find. Their gold prices are always fair when you have some to cash out. I love doing business with someone that I can trust and who is in it for the long haul and wont be gone tomorrow!

I just needed a quick chain repair. She started writing up a ticket for $35 to 40. No way! Folks at Swap meet or Oceanside street fair will do for few bucks. Dont let these folks overcharge you!

I wish I had more stars to give. I am so impressed with this business. I brought 2 gold chains and a bracelet to be fixed. They repaired the chains and charged me less than they quoted because the job didnt require as much work as they initially thought it would. Who does that?? So impressed. They also restrung a pearl bracelet and made it look beautiful even though I was missing pearls and beads. I cant speak highly enough about BGS.

Wayne and Maria (the owners) went above and beyond to help me create an amazing engagement ring. They took the image in my head and found me an exceptional diamond and the perfect setting. I told them what I was looking for and cant believe they turned it into a reality. When you dont know much about jewelry or diamonds it can be a little intimidating going from retailer to relailer where people are just trying to make a quick sell. They have taken care of all my jewelry for the last 20 years. The owner is awesome and goes out of his way to make sure Im happy. I recently had a 50 year old wedding band that used to be my fathers. 25 his 25 mine. crack from years of abuse bobs did a great job fixing it. But I was not 100% happy. So they used my gold and rebuilt my ring better than I could have ever dreamed. They did this to make sure I was happy with my ring. Happy is an understatement. Thank you
