I have never interacted with such incompetent staff and am absolutely appalled by the trash service that they have provided me. These people are snakes and do not have your best interests in mind. They will overcharge you for things that you have not done or contributed to upon move out. The owner of this company is an awful person and I do believe in bad karma. DO NOT EVER WORK WITH JCAP IF YOU HAVE RESPECT FOR YOURSELF!!!!!!

I would put zero stars if I could. Hidden fees and deceptive staff. They have overcharged my roommates and I over $35 for a couple of burnt out light bulbs over the vanity. Absolutely do not work with this company. I guarantee that you will find better service somewhere else. I would rather stick needles in my eyes than request service from them every again.

What a joke of a real estate company. Ya’ll deserve negative stars. Staff will play you out of your money. Be smart and lease with a different business. Be warned…

My girlfriend and I unfortunately rented from Jcap and we were extremely disappointed. The staff were not very customer friendly and were extremely rude. They also have a lot of hidden fees, which we dont recall being disclosed to us. The staff were extremely condescending and they took our security deposit despite our riguous cleaning and repairs that we performed to all areas of the property. I would strongly reccomend that you do business with a different real estate company.

All these guys do is slide hidden fees and are dishonest about it and refuse to work with tenants. Ridiculous. avoide this place at all costs.

JCap has been great and transparent with me. Snow removal was always prompt and basic service issues were quickly addressed. I subleased and they were clear in the lease as to what I was signing up for, no loose ends. Great experience.

Great company. I have been renting from then for 4 years!Every maintenance request has been taken care of within hours of me calling. Fair pricing for the area considering the high level of customer service they offer. A vast improvement from other landlords in the area.

My daughter rented from a new unit owned by J Cap On Chippewa Street her junior year in college. Her senior Sr year she had to move to a new unit being constructed right next-door because the rent was raised substantially. Both units were very nice but my concerns were:1. Inadequate parking especially during the winter.2. I flew in from San Diego, my family, her mom relatives had the place spotless and when it came time to get the security deposit back they charged her $50 for a drawer that wasn’t wiped out. When she checked out her senior year we were not going to make that mistake again. We asked for a walk through with them at checkout. They reluctantly agreed to it and said we would get all our security posit back. We even carried our own garbage out that day and did not even use the garbage receptacles. We were charged a garbage fee for everybody else dumping garbage in the community dumpsters. They have no conscience and stick to their contract and said it’s in black-and-white but my research tells me you have to have individual dumpsters and cannot divide the cost up evenly. Either way it just was not right so be careful when it comes time to getting your security posit back. You think after spending $12,000 there in two years for rent they would believe us when we said we carried our own garbage out and reimburse us $50. Unbelievable!!!

I noticed some of the reviews are not good - but I can tell you that my experience with this company has been really good. The front desk staff is very friendly and seem to enjoy what they do. When I had maintenance issues they were always there right away to take care of the issue and were very friendly. If your looking for a good landlord for student rentals in Eau Claire I would recommend them.

I have been renting with JCap for a year and absolutely love them. They are very prompt with maintenance. The office is very friendly. I am renewing my lease with them this year and probably will next year to finish off my college year in Eau Claire. I would definitely recommend them to everyone.

Nice people... for the most part. I received a few emails that were condescending and rude.But my main issue is that they are all GREEDY BUSINESS people. All they care about is money and definitely scam college students out of PLENTY. Any fee or anything they could get money out of you they will.So if you want to save money and not have to deal with so many hidden fees DO NOT RENT FROM JCAPTHERE ARE PLENTY OF MORE REASONABLE PLACES AND LANDLORDS OUT THERE THAT WONT CHARGE YOU JUST FOR BREATHING

Update: We rented with Jcap for a year. The unit we had, in 320 Graham Ave., was really beautiful, although with a few shortcuts in finishing here and there. Very modern, high ceilings, and right downtown. We liked it a lot.Rob and Shelly were always very pleasant and helpful. Whenever we called for maintenance, we were taken care of the next morning. We were perhaps a little needy, as far as renters go, but they accommodated that very well. During reconstruction of Graham Ave., they were very responsive to questions about accessibility and parking.When scheduling showings, they gave us advance notice every time, and the deductions from our deposit were reasonable. We received the balance within three weeks of moving out.We rented with a dog, and while we were thrilled they were pet-friendly, we didnt like that they have a nonrefundable pet deposit as well as pet rent. Obviously we didnt care TOO much, as we did decide to rent with them. Both the regular deposit and the pet fee were very low as compared to other places we looked in Eau Claire.All in all, it was one of our better renting experiences, definitely so for Eau Claire._____So far we are very happy! Weve rented with Jcap for about five months. They are very communicative, and when we have had maintenance issues they have taken care of it same-day. Quite reasonable and friendly.

Ive never personally rented from Jcap but I live next door and I see these people hassle poor college kids out of money for piddly dings and dents in their house. These are the most gypsy ass landlords Ive ever even witnessed. What is wrong with these people. I hope to rent from them ever. University area housing is far superior in every way

I wish I could give them negative stars. The staff is condescending and rude. I have an extreme issue with how they conduct business. They are the most selfish real estate company I have experienced throughout my time in EC and didnt think they could get any worse but here we are!!Me and my roommate would hear mice running through our walls in the entire apartment and they did absolutely nothing about it.They scam college students who are already struggling out of hundreds of dollars through ridiculous and unfair fees. Theyre $100 processing fee is absurd. I never had more than a $50 processing fee out of all 4 real estate companies I had rented from in my years. I experienced a $500 total fee for finding a couple to sublet our tiny 2 bedroom apartment and when I asked why it was so much, theyre response was time and processing and that’s the biggest lie I’ve ever heard.My security deposit was also lost in the mail and they made ME pay the fee to cancel THEIR check that THEY entrusted the mail carrier service with and didn’t help me whatsoever in trying to see if we could locate the missing mail they just wanted money. The secretary sucks and just gets mad whenever you report an issue and then when you go to Rob for help he sucks too.UPDATE: when they resent my security deposit they sent it BUT DIDNT BOTHER TO CLOSE THE EFFING ENVELOPE. The postage stamp was flailing on the back on the flap that you close and lick. HOW DO YOU NOT PUT A POSTAGE STAMP IN THE CORRECT PLACE ON AN ENVELOPE. There was also TWO spots where they used whiteout so they were obviously struggling with a basic human task that shouldnt be hard and thats ANOTHER OPPORTUNITY TO SEAL THE ENVELOPE CORRECTLY YET THEY DIDNT AND ALLOWED FOR ANYONE TO STEAL THE CHECK OR FOR IT TO FALL OUT. I know they probably did this on purpose because of all the issues we had reported and then constantly emailing them since they would never resolve anything. Ive never gotten my parents involved in these types of issues but let me dad try to call them and they refused to talk to him.WORST BUSINESS I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH IN MY ENTIRE LIFE. They all have the mental capacity of children and I am reporting them to the Better Business Bureau for their poorly run and corrupted business.

Never rented from them but went into their office. I asked what the lady was talking about and asked what to sign and write down because she kept telling me something different everytime I asked something. She had no idea what she was doing. I exited the office when I said what should I write because you keep telling me something different everytime you talk. She replied with you are not our tenant so Im not going to help you, goodbye. They are in a people business and they do not act like it. Its the type of professionalism I would expect from someone working at McDonalds.

I wouldnt recommend renting from JCAP real estate to anyone looking for housing in the future. I have been unnecessarily yelled at by them on more than one occasion (so unprofessional!) and threatened to get charged unnecessary fees that arent even in my lease! If I hadnt pulled up my lease as proof on more than occasion, I wouldve been charged money I shouldnt have. Very shady company, in it for the money. Youre nothing than another dollar in their pocket.

Rent with them if you like dealing with threatening and crabby people... Also dont be fooled by their fancy cardboard houses they have been throwing up the past year

Whenever we have a maintenance issue this company is right on top of it. Glad I choose them as my landlord.
