RENTERS BEWARE. This company will find every reason to take money off of your security deposit. The state we left the apartment in when we moved out was leagues cleaner than when we moved into it. Yet, they still charged $250 for cleaning and painting 8 walls. Ive never had a more dissatisfying experience with a business in my life. Even calling them a business is a stretch. Theyre a scam. Avoid at all costs.

Glad we moved out. They dont bother you as much as people say they do but when it comes to issues that they specifically address in the lease. Smoking etc. they are very cautious on how they do things. We asked them to address it and they questioned us. All we got was the friendliest email reminder to people. If you have allergies or just dont like the smell good luck. Otherwise its a secure place but it does smell all the time like sewage etc. Otherwise theyre management doesnt bother you much, at least not us.

Getting the apartment was easy, they were quick and professional, they got back to me right away. They did not bother me in any way during my stay here and even helped me when I had trouble setting up the online payments, walking me through the process and waiving a late fee. They always provided me with a 24hour before a showing allowing plenty of time to vacate the apartment. They always take care of issues promptly. I got no complaints about Greenpoint, you get what you see they are very transparent and I would rent from them in the Future.

I rented an apartment from Greenpoint for two years. Over the span of those two years the maintenance was underwhelming but overall I was mostly satisfied with my experience (with the exception of them not providing us with a shovel even though tenants were responsible for clearing snow). What made my rating drop to two stars was my security deposit. When I was leaving I was adamant on thoroughly cleaning before I left. I was told by my friends and family not to bother because the landlords will do it. I ignored them and deep cleaned anyways, and its a good thing I did because they charged me for their cleaning! They took $100 off my deposit for things like sweeping, cleaning the bathtub, and changing light bulbs. I swept, mopped, vacuumed, cleaned the bathroom, and so much more before I left, and the SPOTLESS apartment was in better condition than it was when I got there (it was clear they did not clean before I moved in). I also took care of changing batteries, bulbs, and the drip pans on the stove while I lived there, because as I said, the maintenance was underwhelming and doing it myself was easier than dealing with them.Never in my experience of renting have I been charged $100 to clean. I was a quiet and clean tenant who was responsible and caused zero problems. If you like getting your money back, do NOT rent from Greenpoint.

These people continue to disappoint. They started the year off by losing an application that had a social security number on it. They then employed a contractor claiming they would ensure that our roof was fixed in 2 days. That project was wrapped up a week and a half later with no compensation to us. We then were kicked out of the house 11 days before the end of the month without any sort of prorate. Lastly, they mailed our deposit check back to the address of the house we rented. WHAT KIND OF SENSE DOES THAT MAKE? They simply dont know how to do business. Please avoid at all costs.

I have been in my same unit for 11 years and have had a great experience. Maintenance is fast, either that day or next morning, and repairmen are always pleasant.

Absolutely terrible. For my first winter in the apartment, the furnace did not work. It could not run for more than an hour a day, tops. Needless to say, the winters in Wisconsin are very cold and unpleasant, and our heater could not heat the house to above about 40-50 degrees. Also, the furnace was still consuming fuel, so we were paying outrageous energy bills to not have heat. After repeatedly telling the landlord, a completely inept repairman was sent out. He told us that the reason the furnace wasnt working was because we had a rug too near the intake. We moved the rug and this did absolutely nothing. They sent repair guys seven times, over the course of two months before they told us that they couldnt fix it and that we needed a new furnace. The new furnace did not come until late July.Long story short, I had no heat for an entire winter. I would have sued, but couldnt afford a lawyer.DO NOT RENT FROM THESE PEOPLE

The good: will leave you entirely alone for the duration of your lease (if youre into that kind of thing)The bad: will treat your security deposit as a goodwill donation to their organization.Thoughts: running a business that intentionally takes advantage of the poor or low income college students should give its employees pause

At the end of the lease they sent our security deposit to the house we moved out of 4 weeks after we left. We we finally got our security deposit back they took everything from us even though there was no real damage to the house. They will take advantage of you, do not rent from this agency.

Rented from them for two years while in college, signing and living there for two years was fine, however as we neared the end of our lease they became harder and harder to work with. Any time that we had a question we were told ... is out of the office or were passed around on hold. They sent us the incorrect moving out paper work and then later claimed that we had never turned in our move out paper work and charged us for not returning our keys that we had turned in with our paperwork. We were also charged for a burnt out lightbulb, which it stated in the lease that they did not want us to change, that they wanted us to call maintenance to handle. They sent our security deposit to the address that we had rented from, almost 6 weeks after moving out of that address. The one check that we managed to track down was addressed to all of the housemates, requiring us to travel between multiple states to get our housemates signatures needed to deposit the check and then split it between ourselves. As tenants we noticed that the quality of the company and the communication went down hill after they combined with Greenpoint midway through our time renting from them.

Rented through them for 1 year and used them as a realtor on the way out since they sent us something about it. We had to work around their schedule for viewings and the realtor we used was very unavailable. Also, just set us up a mailing list and required us to send them what places we wanted to see. After we found and bought a house, they decided to take as much out of the security deposit as they could (some of which they ended up giving us back since it was ridiculous) even though we made them money on using them as a realtor, found someone to move into the apartment for them, and moved out a week and half early on our lease even though we had paid for it for the new tenants to move in. Never got reimbursed for that and the company made double the money since the new tenants also paid for it. After a few months in the new house we found that the people we bought the house for lied on the conditions report about water getting into the basement so I called them back to try to contact the realtor and avoid going to court. The realtor told me she would get a hold of their realtor and see what the say and then we can decide what direction to go. 1 week passed and I got a call from her saying that after the sale the client-realtor relationship ends and told me to go through a lawyer. They have been disappointing to work with at every turn and I do not recommend that any use them as a realtor or landlord. They are lazy and money hungry.

My wife and I moved into one of their rentals April 1st and have no complaints at all. They took care of some torn screens, sluggish drains, and it was clean and repainted when we moved in. The office staff are all pleasant as well as the maintenance personnel. One weekend I called about a small leak on the toilet and Mr. Scheppke called me back himself...impressive. I told him I could put a small bucket under it until Monday and they got it taken care of right away. We love our new place.11/16/14...I just want to add a thank you to Scheppke Real Estate for replacing the weather stripping around the garage door and fixing the drain problem with our dishwasher. In spite of all the other negative reviews, I have no complaints whatsoever. Not everything gets done the same day I call or email, but the response is always timely.

For my first apartment my experience with scheppke is great. moved from madison and the office was nice and worked with me since i wasnt able to drive here before i went to pick up my keys. maintenance is super fast and gets to me the same day or early next day (a few friends stay with scheppke just because maintenance is so quick). kinda wish there was a check drop box at all the apartments or online payments but o well.
