I am giving 2 stars for lack of professionalism towards customers, much less towards those that have been visiting for years.I have been a loyal recurring customer at ‘Alex’s Salon and Day Spa’ for over 5+ years; as have my very close friends. However, NOT ANYMORE! Due to debauched treatment by the manager. The manager there seems to have only condescending feedback for customers with no accountability for themselves or their business. My most recent experiences is a testament to that! I recently had a scheduled nail appointment I made with their receptionist; when I show up as scheduled, I am told by the manager/owner in a very rude manner (in front of her staff and other customers) that I dont have an appointment scheduled and making me feel like as if I am lying about calling ahead of time for an appt, that I had to show her the day/date/time I called out of my phone. Reception desk has a revolving staff and frequency of errors is very common at this place. This isnt the first time a receptionist mismanaged the appointment. Instead of acknowledging the mistake made on their end and making me feel comfortable, I was made to feel very uncomfortable.Now this is not the first time this has occurred and I have been spoken to in such a unkind manner – but felt it’d only be right to warn future customers to stay away and spend your money elsewhere – no place of business is worth being talked to in this way.Over the last several years, I have returned to this place for the wonderful women and men that work at this place as Nail technicians.However, the managers reoccurring rude behavior and disregard to the customers situation is the reason why I will never visit this place again.

The first time I went I got a pedicure by someone I didn’t like because they didn’t even take my last nail polish off! The second time I got my nails done with Chelsey and I LOVED HER! They serve drinks and food and their coffee is delicious! The young girl at the front desk is such and angel and nice! Love everything in total!

I really recommend this place! However, yesterday I made an appointment on the phone to go get my nails done and I had to wait more than 40 minutes. the truth, I was about to go home but I decided to wait and it was worth it.

First time here and can’t imagine going anywhere else. Really enjoyed the service, Linda was amazing! She’s very sweet and she shows her dedication. Can’t wait to come back for a manicure from Linda

DO NOT. Go to this place. Dont be fooled by these reviews, they are very unprofessional and have no sense of customer service. Customers deserve basic respect and understanding if they are paying $50+ for nails.

Ok so my experience wasnt what I would call bad, per say. But meh. First the good: Lannie is wonderful. Shes kind and attentive and her deep tissue massage was truly deep tissue. Beware, however, that shes not afraid to pull your underwear out of the way to do the deep tissue on your buttocks. If thats not for you, be sure to say that upfront. It caught me off guard. The staff was friendly and the place was clean.The not-so-great: It wasnt actually a spa. The massage room was one small room at the back of a traditional nail salon. The massage table was supremely uncomfortable. The lighting was not conducive to relaxing. And there was no real aromatherapy besides a single candle sitting on the sink. You could hear the noise from the nail salon while getting the massage. And because Lannie had to use her phone for the spa music, it disrupted the relaxing atmosphere when it went off a few times.Overall it wasnt a bad experience. My back feels great. But it definitely wasnt a great experience either. If youre looking for a traditional spa feel with robes and aromatherapy and comfy massage tables, this isnt the place for you.

Not sure why this place has such great reviews, the pictures attached to the good reviews look terrible (focus on the cuticles, they all look cut and badly treated). Make sure you read through all reviews before coming to this place. Also perhaps the reason this place has such high reviews is because they keep deleting bad reviews.

Horrible manicure. I believe i had the manager or owner, because she spent more looking around at the other employees and clients than she spent look at my nails. This was back in July I havent been back since. I have had good results there in the past, but the manager/owner is a horrible nail technician.

Horrible experience. First of all, the sole reason I came to this place was because I had a gift card and was excited to use it. The person who had given me this gift card (SpaWellness gift card) had called before I even drove 40 MINUTES and asked if all I needed was a code and they said yes! I get there, get my nails done- the guy cuts my cuticles 5 times and end of the day my nails look horrible. I felt bad because originally I chose a design and soon after I could tell he was struggling so I told him simple french would be fine- the french is horrible (I will attach pictures). As I go to pay the receptionist tells me they cant just take my code even tho she had told my friend thats all they needed. She kept insisting I needed a physical card or the e gift card- simple, I call the gift card place and tell them to email me the e gift card. I show it to them and now the RUDE MANAGER (a woman) says it has to be printed. I tell them I live 40 minutes away (now 50 with rush hour) and if it was possible I could print it there. The rude manager straight up just says no so I say, ok can I go somewhere around here and print it? she says you cant leave unless you pay so then I ask her ok then can I email it to YOU and YOU print it and this rude woman continues to say no not even attempting to meet me halfway even though it was a mistake on their part. Ended up paying $65 for bad nails and to be treated horribly. Funny thing is the manager kept saying you can pay now and use the gift card another day she is BIG tripping if she thinks Ill ever step foot in this place again. I swear the people in these reviews get paid to post because the nails are bad. Dont come trust me.

I walked in without an appointment in June 2021, and they seated me within 15 minutes. The pedicurist and receptionists were awesome.

My daughter took me out for my birthday and I had a hair cut and a wonderful 1st time pedicure experience with Amy! I definitely recommend the the hot rock pedicure! My feet and legs have never felt so good! The shoulder massage was such a bonus! I’ve been VERY cautious with Covid and I felt very comfortable there! I will be a regular along with my daughters from now on! Thank you very much for a great day!

I been coming to this place for over two years now through a friend and I wouldn’t go anywhere else. Everyone does a great job here and everyone is super nice. I’ve been going with Tracy for a Pedi/Manicure and she does and awesome job.

My friend recommended this place and coming for my first time I am extremely happy. Came in 30 minutes before my appointment and they attended me on spot. The pedicure experience was great. For my nails I got the CC powder and my nails look great. Henry is a great tech! He was respectful and gentle. I am one to complain but I must say that I am happy with service. I will definitely be coming back. Management was very professional. I recommend this place 100%

The worst acrylic set Ive ever gotten in my entire life. My nails are bumpy, uneven, and Vivian cut my finger SUPER deep. Will not be returning and telling my friends to not return. Rushed and rude service.

Went to see Vivian to get my hair colored and she did a FABULOUS job!! The blue and purple are so vibrant and have lasted without fading! I have been coming to this salon for years and will always trust Vivian with my hair, even with new products or colors. I will be a customer for life.

I went in yesterday for a balayage hair color. She told me she could do it, she does it all the time this time of year, and it was NOTHING like what I had expected.I was speechless when I saw it, I panicked, and got out of there as fast as I could. I called and let Vivian know I was extremely unhappy, so she said to come back. I asked if maybe she could just give me highlights cause thats what my hair looked like when I went in, She said she would have to charge me $170, after I had just paid $140 for this hair that is so messed up, So I then ask for my money back. She says that she CANNOT give me my MONEY BACK, because there was nothing wrong with it, she did what I asked for. I will post photos so you can be the judge. So She then convinced me she could do the balayage, So She treated it, blowdryed it, Im almost in tears because it looks no different, So she goes for round 3, and it looks like I bought a box of hairdye and just colored the top of my head brown with a very distinct ring around my head. I left after this, I wish she would have given my money back the 1st time she messed it up so I could have gone else where to get it fixed but now I am stuck with this for a few months because I have to let my hair heal from the 3X she tried coloring it. My scalp is red and sore, my hair is dry and I could have done a better job myself.The 1st pic is the 1st time she tried to do it, the 2nd pic is after 3 times of her trying to get it right, and the 3rd picture is what I asked for.

Clean and inviting. Seems that prices are higher than usual - I am sure part of it is due to the extra requirements due to COVID19. However, I would still recommend the services provided.

I went to Alex’s day spa for the first time today and got my hair done by Vivian. I absolutely love it i got a balayage and it looks amazing. 10/10 love the place and plan on coming again.

I come here quite often. They treat their customers very well and they were recently renovated. Its super fancy now, get the spa package you wont be disappointed. Last week I had a facial and massage a manicure and a pedicure super satisfying. Vivian is my favorite she is the big boss, all of their staff do a great job. I usually dont even have a specific person. There is a male there is well Im not sure if his name but he is very lovely and does a wonderful job. They have many colors in a variety of packages and services to fit everyones needs. They also have a punch card 10th pedicure free.

Amy is amazing! This place is awesome. I have seen the other reviews and can definitely say I have never experienced any bad visits. I will say that they get really busy, so an appointment is a must; although they do take walk-ins... my husband gets his pedicures here as well, and he loves it! And they take military discount!!

Lost the gift cards I purchased somewhere between leaving the salon and my car. Called them to let them know within 10 minutes of the purchase. I still had the receipt but they would not give me a replacement. I asked for the manager I was told she was “out of town”. Was also informed that without the original gift card I cannot get my money back. Thoroughly dissatisfied and disappointed $97 down the drain I do not recommend this place whatsoever. They could care less about your satisfaction and the employee told me the owner was “cheap” and he “did not make the rules” :(

I was excited to try this place because of the great reviews but was very disappointed. I got there and waited for someone to do my pedicure for 20 mins while my feet just soaked in cold water. Then I finally asked what was going on and the guy insisted someone would be right with me. They ended up taking someone who came after me before me who didn’t have an appointment. I said something and he stopped her feet mid way and asked to do mine instead. WTF? no I rather give my money elsewhere.

Carol is absolutely amazing! She has done my gel manicure and pedicure several times and I have always been satisfied! She pays attention to every detail and always does a great job! I love the way she works and I always have perfect beautiful nails because of her! Everyone there at the salon works professionally and does an outstanding job! Great service!

I cant express enough how amazing Alexs Salon is and how priceless their quality of work is! Vivian is an artist, a perfectionist, one of the most hardest working people Ive ever met. She has the sweetest personality and loves what she does. Anna is very inviting, super accommodating and is tremendous with every customer. Kathy, Loni, Tim and everyone among the staff are more than just great at pampering and making your time relaxing...theyre caring people who take pride in their work. Alexs is always super clean, always has very short wait times (if any at all), and they offer a wide variety of services. I left Alexs this evening with the greatest set of nails Ive ever had. Vivian worked hard to put together the most beautiful set of Pink&White Ombre S&S nails, complete with a subtle little rhinestone. Vivians attention to detail and goal of perfection has made me a client of hers for over 10yrs (followed her from previous salons), and she runs her business at top notch and treats her staff and customers all like family. I cannot say enough good things about this place, Im there practically 4-5 times a month and I send everyone I know here. Their prices cannot be beat either, you want the best service at competitive prices, this is your gig. Youll leave here pampered, relaxed and absolutely beautiful. Im certain youll be a repeat customer...

This salon does everything. Its best to set up an appt. I only get my hair done by the magician, Vivian. She works until youre satisfied. Style, cut, color. They have a room for couples massage too. And they give a military discount.

My wife and I just finished at this establishment. I got a haircut she got a pedicure. That haircut I got was fantastic. Charlie did an amazing job. He took his time and perfected it. My wife got a pedicure. She said the pedicure was amazing. She got a spa pedicure and it was delightful. massage from the lower knee down the leg. Very thorough, not rushed. The receptionist was very nice, offered us many different bevereages(minus alcohol) and home made food.Look forward to going back.

Listen, I’ve been coming here for many years. I get my haircut, pedicure, mani, SNS, wax, facial, massage—just about everything. The owner Vivian does a phenomenal job cutting hair, Amy is an expert with SNS and designs, and Mimi is my girl for waxes— the best! Yea sure over the years I would go to other places from time to time but only to come back because 1) they do great work 2) great customer service. Every time I’m there, I see the owner, Vivian interacting with all customers. She takes the time to personally know you and make sure you are satisfied.As for the gentleman who lost his gift card.... That really sucks and I would be upset too but at myself for losing it——not the business. I don’t know any place, not even big companies much less a small owned business that would replace a lost gift card unless there was some way that they can deactivate the lost one.

Went in the other day for lip and eyebrow wax. The lady who barely did the job was not trained. She literally did a pencil thin line at the top of my lip and I had just as much on my eyebrows as when I went in. I went to pay and the price inceased dramatically and they asked me about tips?

They have very good customer service I don’t experience any racial discomfort or slander there they always do my nails expectation with Care I never leave unhappy or dissatisfied they treat all customers the same I’ve been using their shop for about six months or so now I drive from DC there and I absolutely love it the owner Victoria is very nice .

Overall this is a very great place and the people are lovely.There were a few times I got my nails done by Carol,one of the techs and within 4 days there was an issue.Yes they did fix it for free and I wouldnt mind if it only happened once but seeing as though it occurred a few times with the same individual I think theres a problem.I will still go there because overall they do great work and treat their customers very kindly!

I went here two weeks ago to get a mani/pedi. This was my first tie going there as I was looking for a salon, and I was very excited after seeing all the reviews. But I have to say that my disappointment increased more and more as I spent my time there.The lady who did my nails, Carol, firstly kept repeating over and over again that I had baby fingers. Yes, my hands are a little smaller and I dont mind someone mentioning that a few times. But over the course of the two hours that Carol took to do my nails, I think she criticized my baby fingers about 15-20 times. How unprofessional is that?In addition, when Carol was shaping my nails with the machine, she tore through my skin at least three to four times! When I moved my hand in pain, she told me to stop because it wasnt a big deal. Later after coming home, I had bruises around my finger and it hurt for a whole week. My aunt was telling me that I got lucky that I didnt get an infection. Carol is so unsafe and unprofessional.On top of that, my toe nails were shaped poorly and she didnt even paint the edges properly! And my finger nails were also shaped very oddly.I am so frustrated with my experience. Im sure other people at the salon do a great job. But Carol was very unprofessional and unsatisfactory. I hope someone can teach her about addressing clients and not tearing their skin off.

Went for a cats eye manicure but they never used the magnet to make the cats eye effect work. So it just looks like I have a plain gel manicure. Disappointed.

This place does nice nails. I like the SNS nails or ANC as its called in other places. The only problem is that its truly not SNS. They have the dipping powder part down but they use a gel top coat and you have to cure the nail under a UV light. Real SNS or ANC Nails you do not have to cure under a UV light. You use a top coat thats almost like a glue that takes no drying time. it took forever when I had to sit under the UV light to cure my nails after the dip powder. Not only that but they didnt last as long as the real SNS nails. 10 days later I got a broken nail. SNS should last three to four weeks if done correctly. If they ever get the correct nail system for this in the right top coat Ill come back. Until then Ill look to have my SNS done somewhere else.

I went there because of all the reviews both on Google and Yelp. Made an appointment, because some people say you need it. Got there at 4:30 on Thursday. The place is clean. The girl who was doing my mani and pedi was doing a good job. I opted for Luxury Mani and Pedi combo. With my pedicure she game me a nice massage. With manicure...well, it lasted maybe 2 minutes. I like light pink for my French manicure, they didnt seem to have it. Overall, Ive had better and worse pedi/mani experiences. Now, to what really annoyed me about this place. Somebody brought a toddler while they were getting their pedicure done. The child was crying and making noises. Not sure that contributed much to my SPA experience. Definitely put me on edge. When Im paying $60, I want to be able to if not relax, at least be in piece. Also, I had a loud and somewhat obnoxious woman sitting next to me. She was conducting a conversation with her young daughter across the room. Basically for 30 minutes she was yelling so her kid could hear her. When she wasnt yelling, she loudly discussed her custody arrangement with the girl who was doing her pedicure. Rotten shame. I personally dont appreciate noise when I am paying money and want to relax in a SPA. So if you are not looking for a spa, and just want another nail place, this would do. Im not sure if I will be returning.

I been coming to this place for a year my 11 year old get her real nails done here and I get my eyebrows done but the last couple times we came we been over charged because its new workers we just left my daughter nail are usually 25 she get fill in for her real nail but today they charged me 45 the lady said because she got fake nails I said no those are her real nails Im like you are the nail tech and she couldnt tell that those was real nails then charged me because her real nails are long Im like what I never heard that before or got charged i just paid and left i drive a hour just to bring my daughter there but not no more I will find a salon in Centreville
