I was a walk-in today to have my toe nails repainted and to get a full acrylic set in pink and white French tips. I was greeted by multiple employees & seen right away! All the ladies were extremely kind and helpful. I absolutely love the work and will be back again in the future! Ask for Cindy; she did a great job for me :)

One of the worst experiences. I arrived as a walk-in and asked an employee what the price per mani-pedi would be. She gives me a price and when she finishes the service she tells me another, she also told me that I had to tip her, even though she cut one of my toes and injured me to the point of lacerating 2 cuticles on my hands. When I complained that this was not the price she had told me, she was extremely rude and she raised her voice at me demanding a tip. I dont like trouble so I ended up paying $98.00 for a (regular) mani-pedi + tip. The worst customer service I have ever experienced and rude employees. I will never set foot in that place again. Do not sponsor this type of business.

Stopped in as I couldnt make my normal salon and needed a pedicure and redo of my Dip nails. Long story short nail polish on my toes didnt match my dip nail color, she used wayyyyyyyy to much super glue for 3 of my nails that needed tips and the surfaces were left lumpy. Mind you Im on week 2 and they are basically cracked and falling off. Dip isnt cheap runs about $60 so needless to say I will stick to my regular salon where they actually take their time and consideration of clients who spend their money at their business. Oh yes I did mention it to the stylist who brushed it off and didnt forget to remind me of her tip....

Walked in for eyebrows. Just a clean up. I have not waxed them in a while. I tell the lady I do not want thin eye brows. Just clean up around and of course in between. She sounded hesistant. I said if youre not sure dont do them. She said no I can do it. I should have gotten up. The first eyebrow she waxes of 40% of the end of the brow. Explains its my eyebrows fault. Lady no one has half eyebrows. She had to call the manager in to do the other eye brow. Lord never go here. If you cannot do eyebrows what can you do?

Nice ladies, but a total rip off!! They find every little possible thing to charge you for. They wanted to charge me $3 to simply trim down the length of my nail! Is that not included? I have never been to a salon that charges extra to shorten the length of your nail! I also had acrylics with gel polish on. I didnt want to get gel again because their prices were way too expensive and because of this, she told me it was going to be $5 to take off the gel. I totally understand this when you dont have acrylics, but part of getting acrylic nails is they drill off the polish when you get a fill. There is NO need to soak them in acetone, let alone charge me $5 for the unnecessary service. They are also always so eager to sell you in any way they can, whether it be talking you into gel or cornering you into a more expensive pedicure. Dont go here! My mom has been going for years and I never have understood why. Dont get me wrong, there are a few women who do a great job, but more often than not the service sucks. I feel bad for the ladies who are being told to treat/charge customers the way that they have!

I continue to return to Nails Excel because I love my nail tech! Kelly is just awesome!!! She does quality work and is low pressure when it comes to offering additional services. Kelly is the very best Gel French manicurist. My pedicures are relaxing and my toes look great at all times. The salon has new pedicure chairs that are very nice. There is one obnoxious tech and if you’ve had her or been there you’ll know who it is.Kelly is the only reason I frequent this salon. She’s kind and does great work. If I ask for her to fix something she’s alway happy to do it! I always feel good when I leave knowing that my nails look amazing. If you rated the salon negatively you should give Kelly a try before you write it off!!!

Terrible experience for the price. The nail technician spent less than 20 minutes doing a full gel manicure, cut my nails so short that they hurt, and left more hang nails on my hands than I had before going in. Not to mention that she had nail polish ALL over my hands the entire time. Will absolutely not be returning.

STAY AWAY from this salon! They mask their poor pedicure job by using heavy oil based emollients applied before, during and after the foot soak that temporary gives the look and feel of soft smooth skin and feet only to see hard crusty heels and cuticles return within 2 hours of leaving the place!! Look, a razor is never needed to effectively remove softened skin after a foot soak - its just faster and less laborious for them. A pumice stone does the same thing and is much SAFER. Worst pedicure and service ever. Will not go back and I DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Ive been living on king street for 6 years now and have been to this nail salon few times only during emergencies and every time I go there I regret it. Their products are of poor quality and I dont think the nail techs do a good job compared to the older salons that I go to esp in high end areas like my neighborhood. They have a “careless” customer service. It’s disgusting. I also understand their language and have heard them talk negatively about their customers in front of them. I kept myself from blowing up on them.

I went to have a gel manicure removed (put on at different salon) and Additionally have a regular manicure. I knew the technician was doing a below average job of removing the gel and was using tweezers to rip it off- she applied a light pink coat with the regular manicure which again was average and I could tell the gel was not fully off underneath. I just took off the regular manicure and my nails still have traces of the gel on them and are all scratched even after bugging out myself. There are too many nail salons between Arlington and alexandria- do not waste your time here

Dont waste your time or money. This place is one of the worst Ive been in. Its like they are in a race to see how fast they can get you out of their chair! I had a fill that took 15 minutes and I personally witnessed a woman get a pedicure in less time than it took to do my nails! If the job would have been good, I wouldnt have been so critical, but within 2 days, four of my nails had chipped on the ends and the gel polish was peeling away. Ive been getting my nails done for 20 years and this is the worst experience Ive had.

Dont Go!!!!I usually do my nails myself and have quite healthy nails. Last month going on a trip I decided to get a professional service so the publish stays longer. I did my toes on the weekend before trip. Then went back for a French manicure 2 days before my flight. The lady didnt put first coat for the mani. Put the white color and then the top coat while constantly was telling me what a healthy nails I have and she can say the because she is a professional! (I know, do your job). The top coats came off the moment I sat in the plain! Layer after layer. They havent been stuck to nails at all!!!My toe paints lasted better. I removed the toe paint last week and I found weird white patches on couple of my nails!!!!! Sort of surface texture deformation like its going to be peeled! I tried to scratch it off thinking it was the leftover of the publish remover , but nope, its real. I can attach photos! The place is not clean! People dont know what they are doing! 😖

I usually go to Old Town or Shirlington to get my nails done but since I live 2 blocks away I gave this salon a shot. WRONG MOVE! My daughter told me they were rude but I thought she is a teenager maybe she was just being sensitive. NOPE! The customer service was awful. I wanted my natural nails cut down and a gel. Instead of soaking them she used the electronic filer to take the gel off. She then aggressively put my hands in this small bowl of alcohol while she cleaned her dirty station. My daughter noticed me getting irritated and said Mom lets just go. I asked for the manager to come and assess my nails as they were rigid after taking off the gel and buffing them. She told me that its my nails fault??? Huh? Gel will make them better. I said Im worried about the health of my nail bed not how shiny the gel will make them. She insulted my intelligence and was further unprofessional for not listening to my concerns. I told her that I was not satisfied with the service or how I was addressed and will follow up with the BBB. She she started yelling, I didnt do anything. Exactly, its apparent you did nothing but strip my nail bed. Needless to say I gave her half of the pay and wont be going back.

Pedicure was super quick. Water temperature was cold. Tried to get a very simple nail design and my technician created something nothing like the picture I had. I had a very disappointing experience today. Helen offered a “SPA” treatment to which I agreed. This treatment was nothing more than rubbing 3 different products on my legs followed by hot towels. Definitely not worth it. The pedicure went well. The manicure was awful. Helen worked quickly, did not file my nails well, did not respond when I questioned her about it, proceeded to paint my nails in a careless, uneven way. When I pointed out a scratch she just painted over the nail leaving that nail darker in color than the others. I had to leave to work but returned later in the day to have Helen fix the nails. She did not file them after I pointed out how uneven the nails were. She quickly removed the old nail polish and reapplied in a thick uneven way. At that point I just decided to leave. Helen was rude and inattentive. I was a fool to agree to a &50.00 “SPA” treatment. Never again.

An otherwise mediocre pedicure ended with a third of my hard-earned eyebrows being ripped out.Let me start from beginning. I have been there a few times a long time ago when I was in need of a quick pedicure. My husband and I tried this place again around Black Friday because my normal place is in Pentagon City and we did not want to bother with holiday traffic for a quick pedicure. We had a great experience and so when I was due for another visit, we went back to Excel to avoid holiday traffic at the mall again.I had Vivenne this time around and she was very rough with my toes, the roller on the chair was broken, the massage was minimalistic (very short and next to no rubbing) so it was overall a mediocre pedi which for $25 I didnt have super high standards and I got what I needed done. I opted for a gel manicure since its close to the holidays and insisted on an American vs French (very soft to almost non-existent white with minimal white tip painted on -- no tips/extensions). I even showed her photos of the look I wanted. She said she understood and got to work. She pretended to not be offended when I asked for the soft white after she had painted on a blinding white-out white on two fingers. After that small mistake I made it very clear that I wanted natural nail look with the softest white possible and a small tip and showed her the photo a second time. I ended up with a still very white wide tip; not the look I going for or wanted to pay for.Prior the end of my manicure experience, I had committed to an eyebrow clean up -- aka trim and wax between and strays underneath. I almost cried when I saw a huge strip of my eyebrow on the cloth -- Ive been working to grow them out full as single-strand eyebrows are certainly not the trend. This is something that cannot be fixed. Not sure if that was what she had planned to do, revenge for her having to redo the white on my nails, or a mistake, but Im the one who has to live with no eyebrows.I spent the rest of the night crying over my eyebrows and filing down my awfully tacky nails. I wouldnt be so mad at the wasted money if I could undo what they damaged. It will be a long time before my nails grow long enough to file off this god-awful white, even longer for my eyebrows grow out and return to their fullness, and even longer before I return to Excel or Vivenne.

I just left this place....overall the biggest issues stem from a lack of detail and rushing through the process. My nail technician talked to the texh sitting next to her the entire time...she was clearly upset about something because she was slamming tools around. She started to file my toes( I went for a regular pedicure) and ended up filing the same foot twice. She slapped polish on ALLL over my toes and tried her best in the end to clean it uo but I had to take my nail and scrape it off myself. She saw the look on my face but did nothing. I was going to get my nails and eyebrows done but after that experience I opted out of any additional service with this place. And not 48 seconds after I sat down to let my toes dry she comes over and says can you pay now as Inwas finishing wiping the polish off of my toes. She still does nothing to assist. So now one of my feet has baby toe nails until they grow back......the worst thing in all of this for me...was that during the pedicure she took out the tools and wiped them down with alcohol right before using them on me...Maam..where is the SANITATION... never again...just pay a little more or travel a little farther and go somewhere else.
