I recently found a store credit from Personal Touch that had gotten misplaced in our safe deposit box. It was dated indeed. I went into the store and asked if Personal Touch would honor the credit. John didnt hesitate. He immediately said of course we will honor it! No questions asked. It is great to do business with a company with such integrity. What a fabulous business model and one that is truly concerned about its clients.What a great experience!

I came in with gold to sell and decided to use the credit as I had a ring that needed a new stone, and some other repairs. John and staff helped me choose a lovely amethyst, John even re-worked the setting. The replacement of a diamond in a tennis bracelet and the re-attaching of a diamond to a necklace were very ow cost!! Needless to say, I came back to have some very low quality diamonds changed out in another ring. John is a wonderful, talented goldsmith and silversmith. You dont have to only be buying (although they have lovely jewelry) or have only high end jewelry fixed or re-done, he cheerfully does it all with excellent quality. I plan to soon bring him more things I need repaired!

I came to John with a medallion of the Blessed Mary hoping he could come up with an idea how I could use this medallion in a large rosary I am making for my mom. Of course he quickly came up with a plan that worked perfectly. He removed the clip from the back, smoothed out the back and drilled 3 holes so I could use the medallion in the middle of the rosary! This was all done in under 10 minutes! Our family has been coming to John for over 25 years for all of our jewelry needs. 100% recommend!! When it was time for a new wedding set, we went to Personal Touch Jewelers. We came up with the idea to use the diamonds from my original set on our new wedding set. How cool is that? I not only got a new upgraded ring that my husband and I designed, but still got to keep some of the diamonds from my first ring. So what did we do with the diamonds we didn’t put on the new rings? Get this, John had the idea to keep the center diamond and halo intact from my original wedding set and place it on a necklace for me. So now I have my new upgraded set AND a new necklace. This meant so much to me to be able to keep bits and pieces of the original ring. This is exactly the personal touch John provides. He also helped guide us when we weren’t sure of stone sizing or what type of metal we wanted. He listened to what I wanted and as a result, my rings came out even better than I envisioned. I got my dream wedding set and constantly get complements. You will not be disappointed!!

This store is a hidden gem in the middle of Fairfax. John and Maria are both extremely personable and worked with me on designing 3 unique gifts replete with high end quality diamond and quality casting of a pendant that I had initially sketched out for them. My concept went from sketch to CAD design to a casting that was flawlessly executed. This unique piece has sentimental value to my wife as I presented to her on a milestone birthday.If you want any kind of jewelry with a great experience and personal engagement to tailor or engrave to your needs, this is the place!!!I have used Personal touch for several years now when I want to get something more unique and personalized that I just wouldnt trust to the box jewelers out there. Heres my experience with Personal Touch Jewelers. I had purchased a Citizens Eco Drive watch from EBAY that wasnt working. I drop the watch off and waited a week where I was told that the watch needed a capacitor and the price to get the watch working would cost me $130. I didnt like the price, picked up the watch and decided to check around for another quote. I went to a watch shop located in Fair Oaks Mall. They looked at the watch and told me the same thing about the the watch needing a capacitor, but they quoted me a price of $65.00. It really pays to shop around. The watch shop at the mall did the work on the watch the same day and had it back to me within a hour.

John helped me out big time with removing a engraving on a special key. His work was precise and professional.

Bought a engagement ring and wedding band from him 4 years ago. Still go to him to get it cleaned. He made it one of a kind and truly put a “personal touch” in it. John made my mother’s wedding rings, and now he hasMade my wife’s. He does amazing work and gives the best quality for what you can afford. He worked with my budget, convincing me to spend just a hair more within reason (I will never regret it) and really listens to what it is you want and does his best to deliver and make you happy! I purchased a stone elsewhere and came here with the stone and setting design based on my girlfriends preference. For an extremely reasonable price and in less than 3 weeks they made a gorgeous engagement ring that turned out even better than I had hoped! I would definitely never recommend this store for custom jewelry. I had a terrible experience with the owner John who is emotionally fueled, which is ridiculous for a businessperson. I will say the ladies who worked for him were fine and cordial. If you choose to do business with them, make sure you have EVERYTHING written out word for word of your expectations because one area that was lacking was documentation. The issues started when we had a miscommunication of expectations for the pricing of my jewelry [for 2 rings]. The engagement ring came out fine, and never did I say that the craftsmanship was poor, or that it was lacking. Simply put, it did not meet what I wanted; but that did not mean it was bad or that I put his work down. I left the store unhappy with the outcome of the ring, and not receiving both bands, as I had expected. I received no calls within the following week to ask why I was unsatisfied, nor to even follow up on why I did not purchase the band. When I asked to negotiate the pricing for the 2nd piece of my jewelry (band) based on the price he charged me for my engagement ring, we did not come to an agreement. John took my reasons for why I expected a lower price to be “degrading” his work and he said that I could just return the ring for a refund of my money. This was what I intended to do but after speaking with other jewelers they said that it was his job to please the customer, and to make the jewelry that was expected. I had intentions to purchase the wedding band, after my ring was fixed to my liking, and they were minor changes. When I called to express my desires John completely cut me off telling me he had lost sleep over this interaction and that he was highly upset and wanted to be done with me. He said he wanted to stick to the original plan of me returning the ring for my refund. YOU ARE A BUSINESSPERSON AND A SELLER. I AM THE CUSTOMER. YOUR JOB IS TO MAKE ME HAPPY. John consistently told me in almost every conversation we had (about 5) that he was the best in the area, I couldn’t get a better price, his work was outstanding and his job was to please his customers. For someone that talks himself up so much, he surely did not follow through. The credit I give him is his work was fine, but his attitude is ridiculous and I cannot imagine ever having to do business with someone like him again. Good riddance.

I needed a diamond set while I watched as I have a very OCD grandmother who made me promise to never let the stone leave my sight. I had called over a dozen jewelers before I found Personal Touch. Anca promptly responded to my email and indicated they do offer this service. I called John and found him to be very personable and scheduled an appointment. When I arrived John was ready for me and true to his word let me step behind the counter and explained several aspects of the setting process, the diamond and the proper care and feeding of the finished ring. I also had him change my watch battery while I was there. I am very pleased with the service I received. I dont know what happened with chief below but I cant imagine that playing out in the shop with the folks I was with. Maria sent me a very nice follow-up email with some suggested reminders regarding steps I could take to ensure my investment was secure and would last a long time. Johns work setting the diamond was flawless and some of the best Ive seen. He was also very fast and got me in and out in about a half hour. Will recommend to my colleges and friends.
