My experience at Jared had highs and lows.The highs--I got the custom ring that I set out to get.-They were able to use my great grandmother Mimis ring to create a new, unique, and durable ring.-The man that was helping me, Joe, was was helpful and let me make every decision without being pushy.The lows-- It took a very long time. When I started the process, Joe said if all the steps went as planned, the ring could be done by December 2020. The process started 10/23/20 and ended 4/8/21.- There was a fair amount of miscommunication and promises that werent kept. Joe would tell me that my ring would be ready to see in 3 weeks, then 3 weeks would go by, and he would tell me it would be another 3 weeks. That was really the worst part of the experience BUT, Joe was always kind and apologetic. He also made up for these issues with a discounted price on the opal I got. This was a low turned into a high.I would suggest going to Jared if youre looking for a custom design AS LONG AS YOU ARENT IN A RUSH. If you have the time and patience, I am very confident you will end up with the ring of your dreams.Attached are images of my great grandmothers ring with European cut diamonds around a turquoise bead. Jareds VERY talented technician, David, took the diamonds out and put them into a brand new, identical setting. The new setting had a gold band and white gold surrounding the diamonds. Instead of turquoise, I had an opal put in. I was only given one choice for an opal and I would have loved more options but I am still very happy with my final result. I would do the process all over again and I recommend the Fair Lakes Jared to anyone thats looking to get a custom engagement ring.

I called in advance and told them that i was looking specifically for a nose ring and they tried to sell me a earring that might fit. i was stupid and believed them and my piercing closed and it was a very painful process. they arent very honest and will be very pushy for a sale.

Please stay FAR FAR away from this location. By far the worst experience ever. Three months in advance, I ordered a wedding ring for my Now husband with a Fairfax store consultant. We did a virtual appointment on the phone and all was well. She gave me a date for us to pick it up in the store and Jared sent meA confirmation when it was time. My husband and I arrive at this store only for the manager and another in-store consultant to tell us that they do not have the ring in stock. They shifted all the blame on the person who I originally spoke with on the phone, stating that she was just a consultant that was visiting from Tysons and not a true employee of the store and essentially just threw her under the bus. Yet, no one even bothered to call us within the three months to let us know of this. Either way our wedding was in three weeks and we needed that we ordered at three months in advance. We were then told my husbands finger size was too big and that they did not have size 14 in stock and that they would have to order a smaller ring and expand it in store (even though size 14 was in stock online for the same ring we originally ordered!)given our wedding was coming up, we went ahead and went with their recommendation to order a smaller ring and then expand it in the store. We live pretty far from this location and we told the consultant exactly what time we could come to pick up the ring on the pick up date that she provided given our schedules. She agreed and we set the time for pick up the following week.We arrive at the store at the agreed upon time The following week only to be greeted by three different people telling us that they could not serve us and that we could pick up the ring, knowing that we drove over an hour one-way to this location and knowing that our wedding was in a matter of days at this point. mind you the ring was already paid for and in the shop at this point. We had to speak to the manager and then the consultant lied and said that she never told us to pick up the ring. Me and my husband were stunned. Not to mention the customer service was absolutely horrific. The woman with the blonde hair had the most disgusting attitude Ive ever seen at the store, mind you we were just trying to just pick up the ring that WE already paid for.I was so disgusted by their actions and just demand a full refund at that point given their lack of organization, respect, and just common decency. We found a virtual Jared consultant and ended up being able to order the ring online and it WAS in stock in size 14 despite the Fairfax locations lies. I wish we would have just order the ring online to begin with or had gone to a different location rather than the roller coaster ride this location take us on.Please stay far far away if youre looking for a decent experience

I went to Jared to upgrade a ring for my wife. And I also deposit to buy another stone from. After Jared finalized the upgrade transaction which was much larger, they started to show their true color. They dont care about customers any more. Because until this day 7 WEEKS LATER I still havent got my deposit back from other transactions.

Amazing service and honesty. Our salesman was a retired gemologist who was open and honest about our purchase as well as my finances engagement ring and went as far as to offer service on products that we didnt buy there. A very good person, sales aside. I dont usually give rave reviews when it comes to anything dealing with a sales associate, but he was amazing.

Bought a necklace for my girlfriend with a replacement plan and it broke faster than a cheap necklace does. Went to get it replaced and incompetent workers took 4 months just to say that they can’t do anything about it and forgot what they were supposed to do. Will never buy anything from Jared again. Staff unaccommodating and unknowledgeable. Do not bother ordering anything from here use a different jeweler.

I had been engaged for less than 24 hours and brought my ring into Jared to get sized. The sales associate that I initially worked with told me that my ring which came from Blue Nile (highly recommend them) would fog and not stay sparkling. Way to take the excitement out of someones engagement. Then she convinced me to get it sized far too small, so when I came to pick it up they had to resize it again. Oh and its been 2 years, my ring is still more sparkly than most so clearly that was a lie. Overall the convince of having sizing done on site was not worth dealing with the sales associates, all they did was convince me I never want to shop here.

Buyers beware! Consider another location or another jeweler, but stay aware from the Jared Fair Lakes location. You will not get what you pay for! They can complete an initial sale, but good luck if an item of jewelry or timepiece ever needs service after your initial transaction. The store’s manager, Mona, does not care about your business!My issue: The battery in my wristwatch died during the pandemic. That watch had been purchased from the Fair Lakes Jared. In the past, we learned that Jared is not capable of replacing the battery. They must send it out, resulting in a several weeks delay in having the piece returned- in a normal, non-pandemic world.(1) I called Jared on 6/29/20. I spoke to a female sales associate who did not know if the watch manufacturer was accepting repairs yet. She said that she had to check and would call me back. She did not call me back.(2) I called Jared again on 7/6/20. I spoke to a male sales associate who told me that the watch’s manufacturer was not yet taking repairs. Turns out this was incorrect information on the part of Jared, as I called the manufacturer myself and arranged to have the watch shipped and repaired.(I learned from Mona that the “real” policy was that Jared was not accepting owned pieces back into the store for repairs because of the threat of a virus lingering on a piece of jewelry. That’s another level of stupidity for another write-up. But it demonstrated that TWO of her sales associates did not know or intentionally misdirected me about the store’s service policy after their re-opening.)In order to ship the watch to the manufacturer, I need a copy of the original sales record. This had not been needed when the service was handled through the store. (3) I called Jared again on 7/11/20. The sales associate easily located the sales record. She offered to print it out for me to pick up. Our state is still on a “safer at home order”, so I asked if the receipt could instead be faxed or e-mailed to me. The sales associate told me that was not possible, so I asked to speak to the manager. I was connected to Mona who identified herself as the manager. I began with a cooperative attitude and asked Mona if we could look for a way to transmit the receipt to me that did not require me to physically go to the store. Mona refused and said the store (a) cannot send an e-mail with an attachment, (b) cannot send a fax, and (c) has unreliable, intermittent postal pick-up. She had absolutely no solutions other than my getting in my car and driving to the store to retrieve one sheet of paper.(Am I the first customer ever to need a record from a jewelry store that we have used for 19 years? Has every other customer also had to drive to pick up a receipt in person? What if someone needed proof of purchase but they had moved out of state?)It would have been so simple for Mona to say, “We have been having some problems with the post office picking up regularly, so I will place the receipt in an envelope and drop it in {some other] mailbox for you.” Or, “I will call the post office to ensure we have a pick-up scheduled.” Or if she would have taken the initiative to figure out how to e-mail an attachment. A texted cell phone photo? I can think of a dozen different ways to have accomplished this to serve me, the customer, and preserve the client/retail relationship. Nope, Mona won’t do it!This saga continues, but Google reviews wont let me share the rest. This was the level of service for a $20 watch battery people! Surely you wouldn’t want hassles of this magnitude- or greater- for a $6,000 engagement ring! Run to find another store.

I came in at quarter to nine, really pushing their customer service to the limit but requesting a drop off for service on my rings. They were extremely courteous and helpful and we ended up being done right on the minute of closing time.I have had a few awkward encounters at this location, it can be a hit or miss. I do not recommend coming here during their busy seasons when they hire extra staff. Instead you should come here during off seasons. The veteran staff are great and I have always had an excellent experience from them!Im looking forward to picking up mi rings tomorrow, they always look like new when I pick them up!

Bought a custom designed engagement ring from Kay Suy over seven months ago and have had zero regrets. Kay is the manager at this location, and he took the time to help me get a custom made ring with a very tight deadline. The ring was perfect, and my Fiancee gets complemented on the ring all the time. Kay even remembered me by name seven months later when I came in to have a watch sized... He took care of me and I highly recommend him.

12/29/18 at 11am. My fiancé and I came here to look for wedding bands. After 10 minutes of walking around the store, we were finally acknowledged. We were told the sales person would be helping us next, and another 5 minutes later as I saw the sales person wrapping up, I started walking towards her. She then put her finger up and said that she would be helping us in a minute and walked directly towards the new customers that just walked into the store in the last 30 seconds. I tried to talk to the manager, and he was very unprofessional and dismissive, because he said theres nothing he could do because he was busy helping somebody else. I continued to ask if I needed to make an appointment or if there was a sign in sheet and the manager said no and that maybe no one sauce and thats why we were not helped. Obviously, that was not true because we were told we would be helped next. After trying to plead and reason with them to get some help, we werent helped - so we left. Try better next time, Fairfax Jared.We went to the Tysons Corner Jared, and the service there was impeccable.

I have nothing but great things to say about this Jared in Fairfax. Mr. Suy helped me right away when he noticed I was waiting. ( I am in the C/S profession for over 22 years and I’m very sensitive to other’s how they take care of costumers and clients)I needed re-sizing my engagement ring :)He was very professional and great costumer service. I picked up my ring in 2hours as they promised and size was just perfect.Also I saw the tech on site was working hard and very clean Facility and I was very pleased.I recommend to my friends and family. Absolutely!I will go back there for my next peace of jeweley shopping :)Price was also reasonable!

I bought an anniversary ring a couple of years ago from another branch of Jared with life time protection plan. A few days ago I lost one of its small diamonds, so I brought it to this branch for repair and polish. First of all, their customer service is very poor. Second, One of their managers called Joe. Told me that I have to pay extra $75 for labor because my lifetime protection plan only covers the lost diamonds not the labor work. He also told me that I didn’t buy the ring from their branch. He acted as if I bought my ring from another company not another branch of their own company. He made me leave the branch, drive for 50 minutes to go the the branch where I bought the ring and ask them for repair and polish which they happily did and printed a proof of my protection plan that covers both diamond loss and labor. They also apologized for the unprofessional manner of this branch’s employees.Never going to visit this branch again.

Mr. Kay Suy could not have been more pleasant or helpful and conscientious when I had my rings cleaned, repaired, and resized. I was visiting my son and time was short. He spent a lot of time talking to me and explaining to us what would be done. He ensured that the repairs were made before I had to leave, and even gave me a chest to keep my jewelry in.

Ordered a custom ring 6 weeks out as we had a required due date before November 1. Called for an update 4 weeks in and they told me that they called me and I told them to cancel the order which was not true so I had them reorder with a rush for Nov 1. Called 5 weeks in and they said the order would arrive on Nov 9th which is past the deadline. This store location cant be trusted so dont depend on them for important events. You may want to a find a more responsible Jeweler that doesnt treat you like a number but adds a personal touch.

When I got my engagement ring 4/2013 there was a great guy that helped us pick it out. He even sharpied diamonds for me so I could see what it would look like to put a colored gemstone in instead of a diamond. But sadly he no longer works there, and Im pretty sure the current staff is all sharing brain. I hate having to go in for any repairs or 6 month check now. i could tell them i dont ever want to see a heart shaped stone in the next piece i buy, and that is all that they bring me.

Purchased a watch from them in March/April and a protection plan. The watch broke while I was in a meeting. They sent it out to get fixed told me it would be 2 weeks. 2 months later I got it back only for it to break again. When I ask for a return because the watch doesnt work they tell me no. Call customer service and the representative was no help. When I ask to speak to her manager I get transferred to a specialist who is still no help. They then tell me I purchased the watch in December. Which is not the case. So then they offer me an exchange. I dont want their watches, I want my money back. Absolutely obsurd. And I have a week to make the exchange.

Last year, I bought a Pandora bracelet from this store for Valentines Day. My girlfriend started having issues with the bracelet shortly after the warranty ended (ten days to be exact). We were told the bracelet could not be repaired, even for a fee, and that wed have to buy a new one. Luckily, Pandora agreed to replace the bracelet. Upon hearing this story, Jared Corporate contacted me to apologize and to offer a gift card for the same value as the bracelet. They said the bracelet should have been replaced by the store, as they stand by the jewelry that they sell. While I was not happy with my experience this one time at this store, this is the type of customer service that will make sure I continue shopping with Jared.Jared, thank you for reaching out to me.

I will never return to the Jared in Fairfax! They are trash! Its completely their fault it took over double the amount of time it was supposed to for my ring to get repaired (Over 2 months instead of the 2 to 4 weeks stated upon dropping the ring off in April)! If you must go to Jared, make sure you double check behind them and always make sure your diamond record is updated properly! I had a small repair done here in December, and they didnt update the diamond record. Thus when I lost my center diamond in April, they tried to claim my warranty was void because it had been more than 6 months since my ring was inspected. I had to go round and round with them for weeks to get them to cover the repair. This store absolutely sucks and the store manager is the rudest of them all.

I want to say that I have never been more impressed with the staff of this particular Jareds. The cleanliness of this store and the smiles of all the employees greeting me every time I walked by made me feel right at home. I will never go anywhere else for all my jewelry needs. I was in the market for a charm bracelet for my nieces Sweet 16 and what I ended up purchasing was a Pandora bracelet and some charms. Kathy Vivanco the General Manager of the store was the Associate that assisted me and explained how Pandora tells a story of the individual receiving it and how to pick the right charms. Within a few minutes of looking at the charms 2 other employees walked over and showed me catalogs and helped me decide on the charms to get. My niece loved her Pandora bracelet and I can say that I enjoy mine as well! I have since purchased my Pandora and it tells my story! Thank you Kathy and Jareds for a wonderful experience and I highly recommend everyone to go and definitely ask for Kathy, but I am sure anyone there will be happy to assist.

Lazy, incompetent liars.I bought a watch with the service plan for my wife. Since she was not with me, I did not have it immediately sized for her, but resizing is included with the service agreement. Upon taking it to the Fair Lakes store she was informed that they did not have the special skills or tools to resize a watch in the store. The employee and manager instructed her to take it to another Jareds or a mall kiosk. They refused to resize the watch until I called the manager. It was a simple 5 minute task that was completed in the store, but not until after she was turned away and I called the manager. In addition to the deceit about resizing the watch, they did not include everything in the box and have to ship parts back to us now. I have bought several items from this particular store, but will drive past it to go to Tysons Corner or Dulles Town Center.

Unethical and deceptive would be an understatement. I took my my wifes Tag Heuer in for a new battery and informed the associate it had to go to Tag in NY to keep the warranty valid. The associate was polite, filled out the paperwork and told me they would be in touch.This was before Christmas. Two weeks later, Jared called my wife and said the watch was ready so my wife informed me. I immediately notified her that wasnt possible because Tag takes at least 4 weeks to get something done (I own 4).My wife went to pick up the watch and on her way home, the watch was fogging up on the inside. I took the watch back and was very upset.Jared sent it took a local watch repair person for a battery who had broken the seal. I demanded tehy do their job and fix it by sending to Tag and was upset they charged me and sent to a local person. They claimed they didnt know it had to go to Tag and at this point I was furious and told them to just do their job and have been following up with Tag in NY without Jared knowing.My wife picked up the watch last night (Tag fixed perfectly - Tag does GREAT work!). However, Jared charged my wife AGAIN for Tags bill on top of the original bill that caused the whole mess when they sent to a local person. I am writing a letter to Tag and explaining to them that these people should not represent them and why.They are very dishonest and I will never step into another Jared ever again. I have never dealth with such a horrible group.

The blonde saleswoman named Ms. Young (she has a tattoo on upper/mid right arm) is so rude and condescending the second you tell her you are not buying that day. Poor customer service! I suggest you take your buisness to another Jewlery place. My order came in and they didnt call me letting me know it was there. And they lost it and miss filed it. I called three times, the first two they told me they would call me back. Never did. Third time, the girl said they would call when my ring came in, when it was there two weeks ago. She was so rude and transfer me to my sales associate. She was the one who actually called me back and found my ring after almost two months of ordering it. This places sucks. And when we picked it up, all the workers had sticks up their butt. So mean, and not worth coming back.

I agree with the previous review with unethical and deceptive. They sold me an engagement ring and then a week later told me that they gave me the wrong one and requested it back or that I pay the difference. This is after I proposed and got the ring re-sized. I recommend anyone reading this that you stay away and go elsewhere.The sales associate also wasted a lot of time showing me diamonds that were almost twice the amount that I wanted to spend. This was even after I told him my price range.I should have know then that they were very unethical.Edit: I ended up going to Mervis Jewelers in Tysons, which was such a pleasant experience. They really know how to do everything the right way!. Stay away from those boozos at jared.

This place has terrible service. We’ve bought multiple rings here, all with service plans (cleaning, re-plating, etc). Every time we go to do this they stonewall, say they can’t find us in the system, etc.
