I took an old family ring to Daniel for the band to be fixed and some of the stone to be replaced. He did a very nice job and gave me a great price. Daniel is very friendly and truly seems to care about giving his customers quality service.

Went in for a battery replacement for my watch. Daniel charged a fair price ($30) and gave me a nice breakdown of the different watches he had in store.

Went in for a new watch battery for my Fossil watch. I was charged $35. Daniel was friendly, but feel I was overcharged. Ive never paid more than $20. I will not be visiting this store again.

I went here a while back looking to get a simple silver chain for a jewelry piece I was giving as a christmas gift. Guy tries to charge me something on the order of $100, then upsell me to white gold for $200, plus cost to attach it to the piece.Thats insane. I went to another store (Personal touch) and got an identical silver chain for just over $20. And I am certain, he tried to charge me $100 for a silver chain. No, it wasnt studded with diamonds or anything. Id post pictures, except he didnt allow me to take any. Im assuming the white gold was similarly overpriced.

Did not like Daniel. Came in for a quote to sell a couple pieces of jewelry. He was not friendly once he found that I didnt have gold. He offered me $100 total, did not appraise each piece. Daniel then refused to write the appraisal on a card. One necklace he said was nothing so I wanted to take a picture to see if my cousin wanted it for her daughter and he wouldnt even let me borrow the black pad to do so. I would never refer anyone here and even if I dont get offered as much at another store, I wont be coming back.

My wife and I visited Daniel Roberts Jewelers with a request for a custom piece of jewelry. Daniel was not only extremely kind but very attentive to our needs. He showed us a custom design that he could make for us that was very nice and elegant. His other pieces that he had on display in store were lovely as well. I would recommend him and his services.

Really great customer service! I called and left a message for a simple watch battery and they called back within an hour and he changed it within 15 minutes. Perfectly amazing. Super nice and super helpful

Daniel Roberts Fine Jewelers is truly the place to go for your jewelry needs. Daniel is an exceptionally skilled artisan. He has done very good work for me and I am well pleased with my purchases. If you want the best then I highly recommend that you go by his place of business. You will find Daniel to be most helpful in every aspect of his trade. In my opinion he should change the name of his store to Daniel Roberts Exceptionally Fine Jewelers.

I first went into Daniel Roberts Fine Jewelers to get an engagement ring appraised. During the appraisal process Daniel noticed some major discrepancies between what he found and what the big box retailer said I purchased. I was extremely nervous that I was ripped off. Daniel was very calm and helpful. He was very willing to teach me as he went through the process so I would know what to look for. He gave me advice on how to deal with the retailer I bought the ring from. I decided to return the ring, but was left without one with an engagement dinner fast approaching. Because Daniel was honest and worked with a great deal of integrity I decided to ask him if he was willing to help me obtain a diamond and design a new ring. He, of course, was willing to help. He walked me through each step of the process and gave me numerous options. I told him I wanted the ring I originally thought I purchased. Not only did he find a wonderful diamond and designed it exactly how I had envisioned, but he saved me $1000! I could not be more happy with his work and service.

I completely agree some of the other reviews. The owner was very condescending over the phone when asked about a simple price estimate for a simple repair job. He was clearly speaking down to me. Easy sale and a customer lost...

Wandered into this jewelry store because we had been having dinner around the corner. We were immediately greeted by the owner Daniel. He had a beautiful selection of his original jewelry designs, handcrafted jewelry, and estate jewelry pieces.I needed to have my five stone anniversary band redone because of wear. He took the time to show me exactly what he would do. I decided that, with fingers crossed, I would leave it with him so he could do the work. When I picked up my ring it was fabulous. It looked even better then when my husband had purchased it.I would recommend Daniel Roberts Jewelry for repairs as well as for that very special piece.

Gone here twice and found owner to be very honest and fair. I took in some old family jewelry and scrap gold and he really worked with me. He also took time to share some of his many years jewelers knowledge with me in case other family heirlooms come my way. Definitely a great resource to have in the area.

I was in desperate need to find a jeweler that I could trust because I needed to fix a special ring that my dad got me for Christmas. I decided to walk into Daniel Roberts Fine Jewelers, not knowing what to expect. I had never heard of the place but I was immediately welcomed. Daniel explained to me how he was going to fix the ring and was very detailed. He was very professional and honest throughout the entire process. When I got my ring back, it was exactly what I wanted and I got it back sooner than expected. He did an excellent job and I would recommend anyone there.

I went in to sell some of my gold jewelry, and he made me feel like I was getting a good deal. I did not- he ripped me off. When I asked him how much weight I had in gold, he couldnt give me an actual weight. I shouldve known to walk out right then.

STAY AWAY! If there was a way to scream to everyone in Northern Virginia about how horrible Daniel Roberts Fine Jeweler was, I would turn blue yelling! I brought my watch to be repaired and Daniel told me it would be a few days. He didnt write a slip or anything; he just wrote on the back of a card what I had left with him. Clue #1. Well, a few days and no word, so I called. oh, my watch guy took a vacation and didnt finish up the work first. Clue #2. Okay, it happens, I said to myself. So I waited. A week later Daniel calls me to say, your watch is ready. Great! I couldnt get there for a few days, but that was on me. Its not like the watch is going anywhere, right? Well, I finally get over there a week later and I ask for my watch. Daniel cant find it. He asks me for the slip. When I tell him all you gave me was this card, he says, is this it? Nope, thats not it. Are you sure this isnt your watch? Yes, Im sure. Then I see my watch, out in the open on a desk behind the counter. I point it out, and he says, oh, thats not your watch. The guy who left that looks nothing like you. WTF? After 30 minutes or arguing about the watch, he asks me, What do these buttons do? I dont know, its a special occasion watch, that I havent worn in 2 years because the battery died. His reply, This cant be yours if you dont know what the buttons do! Then he makes me put it on, to see if it fits! Really? Is that how you assess your customers? Well, after more than an HOUR of back and forth, I finally got him to release the watch to me. He made me fill out all this paperwork, In case the real owner shows up looking for the watch. Wow, okay. So I way overpaid for a battery replacement, and I was harassed during the process. Way to go, customer service! Maybe he was chased out of McLean for similar deals. Well, we dont want you either!

Felt like I was on a used car lot.My wife and I went to have our rings resized and see how much it would cost. Daniel kept telling us how he was an experienced jeweler and that we shouldnt skimp on price. When we told him that we had bought the rings in Texas he even went as far as saying Miguel in Texas isnt a quality jeweler! After the racial slurs, we were ready to leave and received a quote of $190.Needless to say we drove down the road to Clarion Jewelers and walked out with the resizing cost at $50 while also being treated in a professional manner.Dont get bullied into doing business here!

I was looking for a 10th anniversary present for my Wife and had been to all of the major jewelry outlets but been unimpressed with both the quality and the lack of customer service I received. I just happened to be driving by and noticed Daniel Roberts Fine Jewelers from the street and decided to stop in. Thank goodness I did. The attention and service I received from Daniel was light years ahead of anywhere else I had shopped. He was attentive, listened to what I was looking for, and what my budget was, and ended up selling me a BEAUTIFUL diamond bracelet that looked FAR better than what I had seen at other stores for more expensive prices. This bracelet gleamed like fire in the light and it sparkled like nothing I had ever hoped to be able to afford. Daniels business is local and he owns and operates it personally. No snarky sales people on commission. No employees that act like youre wasting their time if you dont have $10,000 to spend. Daniel spent at least an hour personally suggesting things and discussing the pros and cons of certain pieces with me. He never tried to upsell me, or talk me into spending more than I was comfortable with. I really got the feeling that he was more concerned with me being pleased with my purchase than with squeezing every dollar that he could out of me. I havent experienced the sort of personal service that I received from Daniel in ANY of the other jewelry stores that Ive been to. He even emailed me several days later just to make sure that my Wife liked the piece that he sold me. Where else can you find service and customer care like that in todays day and age?If you want to buy jewelry from a locally owned and operated store from the actual store owner who will give you all of the time and attention you deserve, you cant go wrong by visiting Daniel Roberts Fine Jewelers. No more box stores for me. After talking to Daniel at length and experiencing his personal care and attention, that is where I will be taking my business from now on. You owe it to yourself to check him out before putting money down in any other store.

I have been a customer of Daniel Roberts Fine Jewelers since 1997. I was referred to him by a friend of mine while I was looking for a nice piece of jewelry for my then fiancé. Daniel was very knowledgeable and spent a lot of time with me over multiple visits while I considered my options. I shopped around and found that while he wasnt the least expensive, his jewelry certainly wasnt the most expensive. The #1 thing that separated Daniel was his willingness/ability to custom make a piece for me that would be unique and beautiful. The piece was a hit. Over the years since, I have purchased multiple pieces of jewelry and even a beautiful diamond engagement ring from him. Every time, Daniel has taken the time to answer all of my questions and educate me on what will work best for what I want. Some of those occasions he has even steered me in the lesser expensive direction, caring more about my long term business than getting rich off of every sale.I can tell you from these years of experience with Daniel that he does have a quirky personality. Occasionally, he can come across like he is in a rush. I certainly understand how this could rub someone who is meeting him for the first time the wrong way. Could he be more patient at times? Probably. A vast majority of the time he is extremely pleasant with a big smile on his face. Sometimes he wants to chat it up too much and I have to cut him short so I can move on with my day, lol.Daniel takes great pleasure in creating original jewelry. I do know the care and effort Daniel puts into his craft and craftsmanship along with the quality of the jewelry he provides is of the utmost importance to him. Im sure he considers himself a bit of an artist with these things as he recently sketched out a picture of some diamond/sapphire earrings that he then created for me. Both the picture and the earrings were home runs.Daniels reputation as a fine jeweler who delivers A+ handcrafted jewelry on a customers deadline is paramount to him. He is not afraid to put his money where his mouth is as his name is on every bag and box that goes out the door. I can see where he may be short with someone who he may perceive to be browsing while he is focused on delivering something special for one of his valued customers. While not perfect (who is?), if you are looking for high end jewelry that can be custom made to your specs, go with DanieI Roberts. You may need to care less about the quirks and more about the finished product, but ultimately isnt that what you are paying for?

Daniel Roberts was pushy and rude. He also implied that my girlfriend was lacking moral fiber merely because she is foreign. He insisted on pushing his religion onto us. An overall very unpleasant experience

I needed to have a couple links taken out of a watch... I never would have imagined it would cost me $25 for less than 3 minutes work! I wish I would have asked how much it would be before he removed them. He kept telling me to come back, but theres no way I would ever go back.

Not a good experience at all! He overcharged for a gold chain that 1) was meant for a woman; 2) was so fragile it could not stand up to wear that Mr. Roberts knew I intended for it, and 3) when it literally fell apart, his solution was to overcharge me for another gold chain. Disorganized, not respectful of my time (i.e., constantly repeating the same refrains, losing receipts, etc.), and not honest. I bought a watch, an earring and necklace set, and this gold chain from him. They will be my very last purchases from him.

Overpriced. Very pushy. Average quality.
