I came in the other day and I was getting my exhaust looked at because I wanted to get an glass pack installed that’s it and all. 5 to 10 mins later I look over there not even looking at what I came in for. Time goes by he comes back to me pulls my out there and tell me my water pump is going out I let him know I have someone that works on my motor he gets in his feelings and it’s no longer the customer and what I wanted it’s nothing but money I came in to do a muffler delete and almost got hit with 900+ for a water pump that don’t cost that much a muffler delete with parts needed to install and coolant was 100 let alone🤣🤣🤣🤣 I wouldn’t bother getting anything done here

I had my brake lines fixed in the spring and cost me over $2000. My brake light comes on again today and Im having to have it fixed again for another $1500. If they had it fixed right the first time I wouldnt have to be here again being screwed out of more money. Never coming back here again. This place sucks. DO NOT COME HERE!!!!!

Midas was amazing. They fixed the Jeep and got us back on the road in no time. They didnt even charge us for the new clip, which was very nice of them. I would definitely recommend them to other people.

In the past, I had gone to get my car serviced at Firestone and had terrible experiences. The mechanics would always tell me that a lot of parts had to get replaced and I would wait for over 2 hours for my car to get serviced. In the end the issue I went in for was never fixed and both my time and money were wasted for nothing. As a result, I had a hard time trusting mechanics. When kept getting notifications that the coolant levels were low (which they were not because I had just filled it), I decided to give Midas a try. I was very reluctant going to get my car serviced because of my experiences with Firestone and I thought that the mechanics would try to talk me into getting unnecessary work done on my car. My assumptions about this place were completely wrong!The mechanics started service on my car, 4 minutes after I got there. Within 40 minutes a mechanic came out and told me that my radiator didnt have a leak, but the cap needed to be replaced. Since my car was already being serviced, I asked to get a oil change and for my tires to be filled with more air. It took an hour for my car to be serviced! Once I got into my car, I noticed that something was not screwed back into place. I immediately went back to get a mechanic. After he saw the issue, it was fixed on the spot and he was apologetic about the mistake. I highly recommend getting your car serviced at Midas because of the fantastic service! All of the mechanics were quick and professional; the issue and solution were presented in a timely manner; and they did the service on my car that I had gone in for within an hour. I appericate the fantastic service and will be taking my car to get serviced here again!

Great service, but a little expensive. Ben, the manager (I believe) will hook you up. Very friendly to customers and kept me updated along the way! Rebuilt my engine on my Cadillac, along with new tires, oil changes, check engine lights, brakes, etc!

Only giving 2 stars because they did recharge my air conditioning. the manager was very rude going to tell me off for calling a different mechanic to get a better price on a overpriced service they were saying my vehicle needed. Lost me as a customer.

So I had a problem with my wheel making noise. I called and Adam answered the phone and told me to stop by. Im so glad I did . They took good care of me. I was in and out in 20 minutes. Absolute joke of a shop that takes advantage of women. Sold her 2 generic tires for a ridiculous high price mounted them wrong, Tire was still wearing after replaced and aligned so took it back to have alignment checked and tires mounted correctly. Got vehicle back home and there was a noise in front end so checked it out. Well, they left jam nuts on tie rods loose and guess what??? The tire is still wearing. So now I have to get it in a shop that knows what they are doing to align and have a brand new over-priced generic tire that is prematurely wore because of these self proclaimed technicians.

Every time I go in there they try to charge alot of money for very minimal amount of work and come up with various reasons why certain charges are on your bill

I came in because my car was making scraping sounds on the rear right. Wasn’t really sure what was going on and I thought it was going to be very expensive. I went to Midas, and it took them maybe 15 minutes to find the problem and fix it. It was only a rusted piece of metal which was good, and they took it out free of charge. Very quick and very professional!

I took my van in for an oil change on 10/8/2020. The employees were friendly and preformed the oil change successfully. However, they informed me that over $2,000 in repairs needed to be done. They said the front struts needed to be removed and replaced and that I needed a spark plug package. I took the vehicle to our mechanic and he confirmed the struts are in working order and that our spark plugs were in good condition. Id suggest taking your vehicle to a mechanic if you also receive charges like this.

I told them I had a problem with my driveshaft and all the symptoms pointed to my driveshaft and they insisted it was my break pads and roaders. After replacing all of that and charging me over $1,000 I drove off and the car was still shaking and making load banging sound under my car. After I told him it was still making the sound he still insisted it was not my driveshaft. Horrible service. What I could have installed myself for less then $200 they charged me $1,000 and didn’t even fix my problem.

Customer service is key when dealing with the public; especially when there are several other auto shops one can use. With that being said Adam is extremely rude and unprofessional. I’m not sure if it has anything to do with my color, but I will never use Midas again and I will ensure my friends and family do the same.

After having gone to the dealer and saying the entire exhaust system along with the catalytic converter needed to be replaced $1,400, went to Midas and had part of the muffler replaced and welded all for $150.

Fast and great service at a reasonable price..

I thought the service was extremely thorough and efficient. But I was a little surprised with the high labor charges, since we were there for only a little over an hour.

I took my car there for brake quote. They quoted me $900. After I said no, the man tells me that he actually broke the piece and it can’t go back meaning I can’t drive my car to my other shop. Hindsight being 20/20 I should have just paid to tow it across the street to Tandem (who absolutely are 10/10). Then the brake job was so awful my brakes kept sticking and chugging. I took it back and they were under warranty but the labor wasn’t. And he told me I needed new back brakes...for another $900. I said absolutely not and told him to do just the front. He told me that wouldn’t fix my problem. I picked up the car (after he replaced the front brake pads) and the problem was gone! I’m getting a second back brake quote to be sure they really do need to be replaced (because I’m not convinced) but $900 is OBSCENE! Do not go to this Midas. Tandem is right across the street and they are amazing.

Ive gone there a couple times and have good quick service, putting 4 stars instead of 5 because I had an oil change that didnt go well one time. But other than that theyre always relatively friendly and feel trustworthy, at least as of now I feel taken care of.

An old run down Midas that gets you in there for service and then trys to push other repairs on you hoping you dont know anything about cars. Went in for a cooling flush which was $170 (basically a rip off to begin with) and when they were done, heater core which was having trouble to begin with ended up being totally clogged after they were done and right away they want to sell you a new one for twice the average replacement cost. They are crooks so beware!

I defiantly trust the Midas touch! Ive never been dissatisfied with their work or services. The only thing worth mentioning is every time i come in for an oil change (every 3 or so months) its always a NEW crew on deck, I cant even keep track of whose worked on my car and etc. I cant really lean on anyone in this location for my car -well anything- because in 3 months itll be different people.

Amazing service and work. They stand by their work, and the small issue I had was resolved quickly. They looked my vehicle over 100% and the manager Ben told me what they would recommend me doing and why (which is the most important part because I don’t know a thing about cars). I trust Midas completely to work on my car!

Called ahead to get an estimated time for an oil change and the manager was very polite and advised 30 minutes and he had an opening which was great because another big box store had a 3 hour wait. Showed me all the options that were available for my vehicle and even installed my new headlight bulbs. He also advised me that my rear brakes will need to be replaced soon and gave me a quote. I felt very welcomed and wasn’t pushed around with any fancy sales pitch.

They were very helpful and treated me w/respect. Their work was satisfactory as much as I can tell as it was just an oil change. They checked my vehicle & mentioned a few things that could use repair but were very gracious when I said that Id needed to wait till the next oil change.

I was a loyal customer until they tried charging $700 for a routine part and labor. Competitor by the mall did the exact same job for $300 less. Midas lost a customer today.

I came in with one problem and found out I had a few more that were going to be costly repairs. To my surprise Midas was more than willing to work with me to get all the repairs I need and gave me great customer service throughout throughout the process. I definitely will be stopping by again.

Dropped off my keys and was told my oil change would be 45 minutes, they had it done just over 30 minutes. Excellent service, I will be back.

Good honest service

My son just recently moved to the area and I live in Michigan. He was having problems with his vehicle and was referred by a college friend to take it to this Midas. The gentleman by the name of Ben Oberfoell worked on his vehicle. Ben went above and beyond his job he stayed in contact with me and did a lot of research to find me the best price on what needed to be done. He made phone calls in the morning he contacted me a couple of times. As long as you have been at that Midas you will have my sons business he was amazing and very trustworthy. He is the reason for your five stars

I went in to Midas for an oil change earlier this week and I was very impressed. Unlike the last few places I went to, they looked up my specific car in their system to ensure they were using the right oil. They also did a free thorough check of all the things that they could see without taking my apart for me since I recently bought it used. They showed me everything they were doing and let me watch, which Ive never been able to do anywhere else. The manager, Josh, was really great, as well as his lead teach Kyle. I will definitely be going back.

Less than impressed. The sign outside the Midas building states: free brake inspection. It turns out this inspection is free if its a simple brake inspection. My brakes went through a diagnostic review at Midas, and repairs were recommended for a whole suite of issues. I went to another well-respected auto repair shop, that specializes in brakes, and only a portion of the repairs were needed/necessary. My brakes were repaired at another shop for about 1/3 of the quoted price at Midas, and my brakes are now working great.

Went in for a $50 oil change. Was quoted $1600 in repairs that I needed to get done before winter! I was aware my battery is getting old and the car has probably needed new rear struts since 2005, so none of these things were news, but the pretend urgency of all of it was comical to me.Then when it came time to pay, I was asked to pay nearly $100 for my $50 oil change. I disputed this, and the employee came back with his manager who mumbled something about supply fees, and then the bill was finally corrected. Gave two stars instead of one because hey, at least the oil change was done right.In the future Ill get my routine maintenance done somewhere that just does what I came in for without acting like I came in to blow over a grand of my hard earned cash.

Im not from Dubuque so I had no clue where to take my car to get serviced. Im so glad I chose Midas.Very down to earth, patience and understanding group of guys. Great customer service, the manager and crew are Awesome!!

Simple easy and outgoing

I love my Midas dealer here in Dubuque, Iowa. I always get courteous service and they are always upfront about what needs to be done and what can wait. The shop is near my home so I can drop my car off and walk home easily too. I am very satisfied with this dealer and with the personal service they provide.

This place offers a free inspection ... my son bought a car that needs a lot of work and he wanted to see what was all wrong with the vehicle and to get some prices on what some of the fixes would cost. He went to pick the car up and was then notified that due to the inspection, liquids needed refilling, diagnostic checks needed to be ran, labor needed to be used and they were not going to give the car back until a balance is paid of $138.00!!! They did this work without permission and then tried to keep the car for ransom. I would not recommend Midas Auto Repair in Dubuque, IA to anyone.

Way to high?

Im surprised at a few of the negative reviews here. I was recently at Midas and it was a great experience start to finish.The two gentlemen I dealt with were Josh and Kyle and I regret not getting the name of a third gentleman who was very nice and clearly knew his stuff. he was very thorough. I have an older vehicle, with an awful lot of miles. They treated me professionally, went above and beyond, did the work quickly, for a very fair price. I just couldnt possibly have asked for more. Regarding the above and beyond, I had work to get done at home, when my ride didnt show up, they even drove me home while the work was being done on my vehicle! (17 miles one way!) Boy I appreciated that!With three kids in college, every penny counts as you can imagine. These guys seemed to understand that more than anyone Ive ever dealt with. Not only did Josh and Kyle and the staff get the car up and running on the same day, they didnt try to oversell other products. They even told me what to keep an eye on going ahead. Thanks guys, I really do appreciate it, and Ill be back.I also cant go without mentioning that through talking with them, I found out both Josh and Kyle are former military, which explains an awful lot about why these guys were so good. Thank you for your service guys.

Took my wifes car in for a brake noise. All four brakes were inspected and cleaned. It turned out that nothing was wore out, just a little debris in the slides. The brakes were reassembled and tested, and the noise was gone. The charges were fair for the work they did, I was satisfied and will continue to let them service my vehicles.

Second time going there for a oil change and my car has always seem to run better after leaving there also they send me coupons so thats a plus:)

Customer service was good, I suppose. Techs not so much. They messed up on my front end. Then told me it was common in GM vehicles. Even tho when I went to get that part fixed somewhere else they told me that part wasnt broken. Midas did buy me new tires, because I put less than 1000 miles on them and they were ruined. But after having to pay $200 to a better shop, (after the $1200 I paid Midas to do it correctly) I can say I definitely will not be returning.

First off, I want to start by saying that I was extremely displeased with their services. I ran into an issue with my car where it was leaking gas from someplace underneath my car. Midas performed a diagnostic on my car and from that, they decided that the leak was coming from my fuel tank because the seals in between the fuel tank was rusted. Given the fact that I dont know a lot about cars I decided to do my research and find out what and where the issues were on my car. In the midst of doing my research, I stumbled across used parts that were available for purchase at multiple junkyards. Midas estimated that the repairs for my car would be $1100, as soon as the told me that I said: ”please place my car outside of your shop because I refuse to pay that much, Ill find something somewhere else for less”. The General manager Tony insisted on me staying, he told me that he would have never performed the diagnostic if he knew I wasnt going to allow for them to fix my car. The whole time my car was at Midas, no one communicate with me about anything that was happening with my car, every time I called I spoke with Tony the General manager and he would constantly brush me off and say that they were working on it, or they were trying to figure out where the leak was coming from and they couldnt tell. It took a day and a half of them performing the diagnostic on my car to figure out what was wrong with it, and then once they figured it out instead of telling me the person whos car it was, they told my coworkers who worked across from them at Papa Johns and I had to hear from them what was actually wrong with my car. So anyway, I was able to work out a deal where I would bring the parts myself and they would only charge me for labor. I had a conversation with Tony the General manager and he specifically told me that he would only charge me $287 given the fact that I was a Lyft driver, he would apply a discount. So we came to the agreement that with that price I would allow for Midas to fix my car. Fast forward to the day where its time to pick up my car, I walk into the shop expecting to pay $287 but instead to my surprise Tony tells me that my total was $375. When I asked him what happened to the agreement we made he looked at and said ”I never agreed to that price, you must have spoken to someone else” he deliberately lie to me straight to my face. At that point, I lost my composure and explain how I was fed up with there BS and them trying to get over on me. Eventually after getting upset and speaking with another mechanic on the phone right in front of Tony inside of Midas he gave me the price he initially agreed to, I paid and as I was walking out the shop Tony said to me ”Dont come back to my shop”. That is exactly what encouraged me to write this review so that everyone who is considering having service done at this repair shop will know how disrespectful and out of order they were to me. Please take this into consideration before you give them your money this is not a great place to go.

I had my radiator fixed and they were very good and treated me and my mom with the most awesome care and respect and I always take my car here for oil changes and they dont try to push u into fixing everything at once

Good service and thorough inspections

I went in for a tune up. The mechanic actually stole the down pipe and sensor off of my car, then tried to convince me I needed a catalytic converter. They recommended new brakes and tires. My brakes and tires are new. The 470.00 tune up later cost another 1,194.00 to have Tandem repair the deliberate vandalism. All the franchise owner could say was, refer it to my legal team. So, I referred it to Dubuque Police Department.

Roughly 10 years ago Midas in Dubuque had high standards for employees and customer satisfaction. Well about 2-3 years ago they screwed up an oil change on a car with 20k miles and made a huge mess because of a rookie mistake. I took a break from Midas. Recently I suggest a local to try the shop for an oil change. While there one of the techs threatened a customer with violence. He started throwing things around the shop in anger. When it was complained to the manager, manager asked the customer to leave. He said he would not discipline his employee because he could lose business because hes short handed. He mentioned he hired the guy from the half way house, was in there for domestic and child endangerment. Avoid this Midas and you will avoid a lot of issues.

WARNING:WARNING: Manager charged me 500 dollars to replace 2- 4 foot back brake lines and repaced the 2 bleeders (10$ part)and shortened one brake line.Then began to berate me,trying to get me to feel as though I didnt know what i was talking about, quizzes me on my vehicle. Initially he said i needed a complete brake job for 800$.Then I told him less than a week ago front brake pads and a new caliper was installed. He then changed his tune to ok, um how much money do you have to spend? I said up to 500 dollars and guess what thats what the final cost was! Upon inspection I saw that no new parts were repaced with exception of the aforementioned. He became angry said Ill keep your vehicle if you dont pay. Held hostage, I realized I couldnt reason with someone whos trying to con me. Meanwhile the work he said needed to happen suddenly was fine and the work was completed? I have spongey brakes and am going to the bbb.STAY AWAY

I went there on a Friday to get my oil changed, and my break light change. During my visit, the manager took me back to show me what was wrong with my car. He told me that my oil was contaminated. I told them to go a head and fix it. The manager was nice during my visit, but afterwards, there was something wrong with my car. I started it, and it would stop and my check engine light was on, and the track light. I brought it back, and told him what was going on. He came out with his diagnostic device checked my car and told me I would have to go to Honda to get it off.I went to Honda, and they checked everything. They found that when they did my oil change, they didnt connect the pieces right in the car. Honda fixed it, but they suggested I go back to Midas, and ask if they could issue the money back to me of what I send at Honda. Lets just say, Midas could only give me a free oil change. So disappointing.

They always do an honest thorough job for me.

Went in for oil change and was met with enthusiastic staff. Service options were well explained and performed quickly. I will be returning for future business.
