I highly recommend Chesapeake Painting Services, they were very professional and timely with the services performed. We had the whole inside of our house repainted removing wallpaper and minor drywall repairs due to a leaky roof. My mother has dementia and they worked around our schedule and always were very courteous to her even when she wandered into where they were working. They always put the furniture back to the original placement every day before they left so she would not be out of sorts in the night. The house looks like a new home even though it is a 100 Year old home, the painters did such a nice job. They even looked over everything after the job was complete and saw a small area on the ceiling that needed a third coat of paint (due to having popcorn ceilings) that the 2 coats did not cover, we did not even notice it. I have already recommended them to my neighbor who is planning on repainting his home. I wish I had not repainted my home already last year myself as I would have had them repaint my house.

My husband and I recently bought a home, it was built in 1997 and it still had the builders paint on it. We definitely wanted to make it our own and we were looking at different places to help us do it the caveat is it was the beginning of July and we are due with our first child the first week of August. We called Chesapeake painting services and within two days they got Mike out to do an estimate for us, he came out gave us our estimate and was very thorough. When we accepted the estimate it was time to schedule. Originally we were going to be scheduled for the first week of August until I told him about our due date, they took note of it and then called us and asked if 19 July would work. Of course we accepted it and a week later I got a call saying that they were able to move us up half a week and by the 20th our job was done. Our house is a decent size, they did the entire first floor 2 closets, a pantry, powder room, a two-story foyer as well as the upper hallway and closet. We had a team of four men come in and move all of the furniture, paint everything and they were so kind and courteous. They cleaned up every day before leaving, they asked me if everything looked Okay, which of course it did. Hilario (the job boss) came out multiple times and made contact with me to check how things were going. I was slightly nervous because I have a large dog and we need to access the first floor in order to take him out, the crew was incredible with him and when I had to take him out I gave them a heads up and they were perfectly fine with it. Everyone was so kind and incredible Josh called me multiple times to check how things were going, the crew was amazing again and I couldn’t have asked for a better company. On top of just painting they were able to fix the walls where there was some corner tape peeling and nail pops. While they were painting the foyer ceiling they also replaced my chandelier. We could not be happier with our job. Thank you so much Chesapeake painting!! CPS painted several exterior doors and trim on our house. The entire team was professional and efficient! The painting work was excellent despite some challenges (weather and the height of the trim work). On the last day, Jose stayed late to ensure the work was complete and that we were satisfied. This was my second time using CPS. They did our previous home in 2019 and it was such a wonderful experience I knew I would use them again. We recently purchased a new home that needed full interior painting - a very large job with a lot of detail work for built-ins, closets and working around light fixtures. They once again made the entire experience stress-free. In this case they also helped meet an expedited time frame in order to accommodate my move schedule. They came out to provide a detailed and timely estimate, helped come up with ways to meet my budget, and then performed the work in such a pleasurable and professional manner. The entire crew was great and I appreciated how often they would check in with progress and to confirm any questions that came up. But most importantly I appreciated the attention to detail, they are incredibly thorough in terms of prep (filling nail holes, fixing dry wall cracks, etc.) and paint application. Like many, I am in the midst of COVID-inspired home renovation. I plan to likely sell my house in the next couple years, but would love to get done some work both to make it look nice for selling, as well as to enjoy it a bit more myself while Im here.One of my projects was to renovate the kitchen. I didnt want to completely re-model, but I wanted to give it a new look-and-feel. I got some estimates from general contracting companies, all of whom quoted 10k-20k for replacing cabinets and counters and such. I was not too keen to spend that amount if I was planning to sell in the near future.I was about to give up, when I ran across Chesapeake Painting Services, who offered Cabinet Painting. I was a bit skeptical at first, but the estimate I receive, and the reviews of the company pushed me over the edge. And boy am I glad I did.The process was laid out clearly and concisely. They arrive on the first day, remove all of the cabinets doors and drawers, apply 2 base coats, and take the doors and drawers off-site to be painted. They come out the second day and apply two final coats. Then the end of the following week they return and re-seat the doors and drawers, install any new hardware/handles you want, and touch-up anything necessary.My kitchen looks spectacular.I was nervous that painting the cabinets would remove the wood texture, and make them appear flat and off-putting. But the wood texture is still accentuated and the color is amazing. The guy that came out each day to do the work did an amazing job, and answered any of my questions and responded to any of my requests.At the end of each day, the owner even called me to make sure I was happy with the work.My kitchen looks phenomenal, and just like I had it completely re-modeled. My general contractor was so shocked he thought they had actually installed new cabinets.I fully intend on utilizing CPS for future projects, and recommending to all friends and family.

We had out kitchen cabinets painted and new hardware installed.The entire process was great. Everyone responded quickly - from my first interaction to get a quote to the final installation. The owner visited on more than one occasion to inspect the work himself and make sure we were satisfied. The guys doing the work were excellent. Obviously experienced, they were also professional and kept the workspace neat.The finish on the cabinets is outstanding - doors sprayed and frames rolled. It has been one month and no issues at all. This was our first experience having someone paint for us, so we were a little apprehensive. We had a two-story entry, a dining room, and a family room for this project. We tried to get 3 estimates but Chesapeake was the only company that responded to our inquiry, and they responded lightning fast. We were looking to find a company to stain our siding and paint our cement foundation. From the very beginning, this company was very responsive to all questions, and James was able to come out very quickly to give us a quote. These folks are truly the most professional home improvement company I have ever dealt with. Their commitment to quality never once lagged.They did an incredible job removing our popcorn ceilings and an equally excellent job in painting much of our downstairs. We had walls, ceilings and trim painted in our Master Bedroom, Walk-in Closet, Master Bath, Living Room, Dining Room. Also, trim only in entrance hall and 2nd floor hall. Chesapeake Painting Services was one of 3 estimates we obtained. The estimator was knowledgeable and helpful with suggestions. The proposal was very professional and the estimator was very responsive about tweaking it based on my feedback. The pricing was very competitive, especially once a winter discount was factored in. (They are much less busy from December thru February.) The actual job went extremely well. The painters were friendly, professional, and respectful of my house. They were perfectionists who wanted to be sure the job was done RIGHT. The company president stopped by twice to be sure we were satisfied. The final results showed that obsession with quality: beautiful all around! Excellent experience.

We had exterior house painting and a small area of siding. We are very happy with the workmanship and schedule. They showed up when they said, and were in touch with us about possible weather effects on the schedule and were also flexible when we needed to reschedule. They were easy to deal with from start to finish. They did an estimate via email and pictures (and it did not change once they came out to do the project). Every other company came out to the house requiring me to take time off of work. Additionally, their price was the best and the reviews were great so we went with them. Im pretty disappointed in Chesapeake Painting Services because I have really have really enjoyed the work they have done in the past for me. But the past work was a larger job. I recently asked for them to come out and paint shutters on the second level of my home and they informed me the job was too small and they will not do projects for less than $1000. Thats kinda messed up and arrogant. I suppose they are big kids now and are too good for small projects.

They TOTALLY transformed the way my kitchen looks and you could never tell I had black kitchen cabinets before. Chesapeake replaced a number of damaged cedar shake tiles and repainted a house on the property I manage. They arrived on schedule and completed the project within the timeline they provided. The workmanship is professional and the house looks fantastic. Even more impressive than the workmanship was the fact that Chesapeake proactively followed up with me to conduct a job completion walk-through. Many of the contractors I have worked with through the years try to avoid a walk-through when the job is finished.

James and his crew occasionally perform some sub contractor work for us pending our workload. In all cases they have been a pleasure to work with, fairly priced and prompt. They often have a busy schedule but it is worth the wait. Great job.

There is no better painting company! I love the professionalism, care and attention everyone provides. They are trustworthy and top-notch painters. Having been a painter before (many moons ago), I know the degree of difficulty each project takes and the prep work that goes into it. They dont skimp on the prep, the painting, or the clean-up. Not only do they remake the look of a room with a simple change in color, but their drywall work is the best!!! I couldnt recommend Chesapeake Painting more.. You will be more than satisfied. I cant say enough about how great Chesapeake Painting Services has been! Josh in particular was incredibly helpful and attentive from the first estimate, all the way through the wrap-up. We had our whole first floor painted, as well as some electrical work in the kitchen and a bit of carpentry to stabilize our stair railing and replace the hatch to the attic. Josh was really clear up front about what we could do and the timeline - he gave us a really fair estimate and stayed in touch throughout the project to make sure that everything was exactly the way we wanted it. The guys did a fantastic job and left the house impeccably clean after! They finished all this work in five days - they were quick, efficient, and the house looks amazing. Josh went above and beyond for us in several ways - not only did he check in every step of the way to make sure we were happy, but he communicated really clearly about what would be done and when, and made sure every small concern we had was met. Over the years we have had many contractors work on our home. With that said James & his team did a great job on our house. They not only painted but did carpentry work that was professionally done. His painters were on time & cleaned up every day. I had 3 other contractors bid & theirs was the most competitive. James and his crew did a great job repairing my drywall after I had plumbing replaced in my house. They were at my house at the scheduled time and completed the job in a professional and timely manner. The price they charged was very reasonable and didnt change even with a minor change to the work required. I would hire them again for any other drywall or painting work that I needed done.

Chesapeake Painting Services re-painted probably 70% of our newly-bought home in March 2014. An up-front discount was given if we were to have over 1/2 of the rooms painted, which we did (bulk discount), and we were able to find swatches of major brand paints at Home Depot which the owner, James, compared to the Pittsburgh Paints that he typically uses (he just needed the color codes). The paints matched up as closely as the eye can tell. James said that he could get other brand paints, but preferred Pittsburgh, seemed fine for us.The painting was originally slated to take 2 days, but ended up taking about 2.5 since they had to remove some wallpaper strips, patch a few holes, and make sure that everything got double-coated and all fixtures were re-attached, in addition to the old wallpaper glue not showing. This was a major plus for us: doing it right, not doing it fast.We found no issues when the job was done, no missed spots or dripped paint, anything like that. Pretty professional and seemless job throughout. I like that the company is local, so the owner is able to run out and check on things quickly as needed. We would recommend them for sure.----Updated August 2014: We re-hired Chesapeake Painting to take care of the outdoor railing and posts on our outdoor porch. It was a quick job, but required sanding down the old paint, priming, painting, taking care of the steps, etc, which can be tedious with small rails and such. However, the job was done very quickly and professionally, i havent seen a single drip or smudge on the porch itself. We would recommend Chesapeake Painting for both indoor and outdoor painting.

Chesapeake Painting Services was chosen through our bid review for a major renovation at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Annapolis. We cannot speak highly enough of the services and professionalism of James, the owner, and his workers. Our job was complicated and multi-layered by the building of an elevator, the moving of walls, and the building of an additional office. CPS accommodated our ever-changing schedule and did wall repairs and painting that looks terrific! What a pleasant experience every step of the way!

I would never hire anyone else for painting or general contracting. James Guth is an honest man who makes sure his companys jobs are done correctly. I had exterior painting done initially a few months ago. Later I needed some carpentry work -- a new awning -- and also a french drain and some minor handyman stuff. The work crew did a great job. When I had questions, James took them personally and made sure that I was happy. He didnt really have to do all that, but he took an interest in the successful sale of my house and made sure I got to settlement without any problems. His fees were very reasonable.One of my closest friends husband is a carpenter, but he works only for his wife. His comment about James was, Congratulations, youve found a craftsman who knows how to do absolutely everything.

I have used them on two separate occasions with different crews and both times have been a wonderful experience with excellent attention to detail.

All I can say is OUTSTANDING! They werent the cheapest but they did an excellent job and their customer service was unmatched. I would definitely hire them again for painting and powerwashing.

I was extremely pleased with their services from beginning to end. They showed up on time and were well prepared and very knowledgeable. They stayed true to their quote that was emailed before they arrived. There were no surprise fees or charges. Each employee was extremely professional and showed the upmost respect. I had them paint the ceiling in our whole house and a couple of the rooms. They were proactive and made sure to patch up and sand blemishes that I didnt even know were there.
