I haven’t had a pedicure for a long time so I tried out this salon since it’s in my neighborhood. The staff is super nice and Kelly did an amazing job. She took her time and everything looks great!

It’s been a great experience at Sparkle & Pop as always. Tina always gave me a fantastic job on a dip powder manicure. It lasted for 4 weeks and still shining. Tina never disappoints me. Staffs are also friendly. I definitely comeback.

I’ve been to this location twice now & both times have been a wonderful experience!I recently got a gel manicure done by Lily and she did an amazing job. My nails look so nice and I felt like she really took her time. I would highly recommend sparkle & pop nails!

I went to this salon with my young daughter and we had excellent care. They were so kind and affirming to her as she picked 5 different colors of polish! We were both thrilled with our pedicures and left feeling very pampered. We will certainly be back!

Its a good place to quickly get a simple mani and pedi, however, my last visit was a bit scary because the tech dug so deep into my cuticles and it was a painful experience. I bled a few times too. Just be careful. Id possibly go there again for just regular polish or maybe a pedi, because they seem to be more gentle when Im not doing gel.

I believe I was profiled at this establishment. I had Tina for a manicure and pedicure. All was going well until she asked me my profession and then followed with asking to pay me to amid the service. No other person was asked except me. I felt very uncomfortable with the whole exchange. After the service was over she just left me under the light bar to dry I had to ask another nail tech to see if I was done. I waited for almost 20 minutes. It was absolutely mortifying and humiliating to receive that type of service. I will not be returning!

I recently moved to old town Alexandria and was in a desperate search for a quality nail salon that I can rely on. When I discovered sparkle and Pop, I was super excited to find a clean professional and I’m really high-quality salon that does not exploit for pricing. Everyone there is the most friendly, and offers the highest quality of service. I highly recommend coming here :-)

I can’t say enough good about this place and Kelli who did my nails. I like everything about the service I received this morning. Clean, friendly, well prepared for safety during Covid. Kelli was very thorough, even ended the manicure with a marvelous hand massage - lovely for my arthritic, dry hands. I highly recommend Sparkle and Pop in Alexandria

I came in with my friend yesterday to get my nails done. Im going to the beach this weekend and wanted a nice dip nail with tips since Im expecting my boyfriend to propose and I wanted to take some pictures. There were no customers when we walked in, three woman and a man behind the counter. An older woman sat me down and started filing down my nail. She filed with a standing band... then a large barrel bit... and a small barrel bit... and I started to get nervous. Im a nail biter and I wanted to let my nails grow out underneath, and avoid having them look like ski slopes in the process. She kept tilting the large barrel at the nail next to the cuticle on my pinky on my left hand and I pulled away after a few minutes because it hurt. If you look close, youll see white spots on my nails. I did not have them before coming in, so Im going to guess its from trauma. I told her I wanted glitter on my ring finger and pointed to the picture they have on the pamphlet. She nodded that she understood. I reminded her twice about the glitter, and she nodded but she never did it. She kept talking to me and I couldnt understand what she was saying so maybe there was a communication issue. The tips on one of my nails were bending upwards and my nails looked like wavy thick chunks of Hubba Bubba bubblegum. I started to get confused - was this a joke? Ive never experienced this before with dip. I told her they were very thick and chunky, and she said Oh Ill file down for you. She filed them down but they were filed down to where it became very patchy and uneven near the tips and edges. Other coworkers came by, looking at my hands and speaking to her. When she was finally done, they were patchy. Im sorry I couldnt take a picture, because another lady named Li Li (?sp) came and immediately began the process to remove the nails. The lady who did them profusely apologized, but I was so angry I couldnt speak and I just smiled and nodded. Id sat there for two hours to not have what I wanted done. My pinky was burning and I could feel my thumb pulsing. Li Li was wonderful and she wrapped my fingers in acetone and afterwards cleaned up my natural nails and cuticles with a nipper (the original lady didnt do this) and shaped them for me. The entire process took almost 3 hours. I got my cuticles cleaned up, but my nails damaged in the process. I gave this place 3 stars because the other two ladies in the establishment are experienced seemed to do good work. They also didnt charge me for all that time and work which was nice. I dont know why they gave me the new person, I dont want to be a guinea pig, I wanted to look classy for a hopefully memorable day.The two experienced ladies told me to come back and they would fix it for me another day, but I dont think I will, Im a little traumatized. The original lady butted in when Li Li was trying to clean up my nails to vigorously rub the acetone into my nails. They got into it verbally and became pushy which made me uncomfortable. If you do go there and have a dissatisfaction with your service, try Hanks Pasta Bar across the street. It made me feel a LOT better.**edit: my friend says her acrylic is very thick and her left thumb nail is filed tilted to the left. We joke it looks like a blue candy corn. $87 with pedicure, same color.

I just moved to the area and Sparkle and Pop is in my apartment building so I gave it a try. They did an amazing job! Nick made sure my nails and toes were perfect and was super friendly. I am glad to have them in the building!

Great salon! Super clean. Lots of polish options. Very good COVID protocol with sneeze shields set up and sanitizing of stations etc. Best place I’ve been to in the area by far.

This is such a beautiful, clean salon! I live in Clarendon, and come here whenever I can because they do such a great job - and are so friendly (that should say something because I have so many nail salons near me to go to)! Definitely will be returning! Im so satisfied with the customer service here AND my nails looked perfect. i felt very welcomed when i even walked in. The first thing i noticed, which i appreciated, was the nice energy and friendly staff. they offered me water and soda. they also listened to what i wanted and patiently helped me pick out the perfect color i was looking for. While customer service is a very important factor for me, i came to get my nails done. and was also beyond happy with my new acrylic set. i got numerous compliments and people asking where i got them done. And nails still look freshly done after two weeks now. Thank you so much sparkle and pop nails. my new nail place!

My mom and I went in for pedicures and I also got a manicure (regular polish). I was pleased with how nice it was inside, something I’ve found disappointing at other old town nail salons. The staff there were very nice. Ni did both my pedicure and manicure and did a super job. This is a great addition to the neighborhood and I’ll definitely be back!

I have been coming here since it opened. I always go to Tina for my SNS dip. AMAZING JOB EVERY TIME.

I had the worst experience here. I have pretty short nails already, and as soon as the nail tech started to work on me she cut my nails even shorter! So short this it passed the nail bed and became so uncomfortable. My nails hurt for days! They are rude and have very bad attitudes. I went with someone that speaks Vietnamese and they were talking badly about us the whole time. One of the nails tech told the other nail tech to tell my friend she was pretty so that my friend would tip her more. Oh and they also only take cash for tip, so when you don’t have cash, they ask you to Venmo them... such and unprofessional place. I will never go again.

My technician was very detailed and made sure I was satisfied with every single nail. She came with suggestions and I left with natural looking nails like I wanted 🤗

Tsy did a wonderful job she had to fix a nail I didnt even know was broken. She gave me a 20 min massage she also does reflexology. The shop is clean they use a sterizer for their instruments. Very important. Very pleased will my pedicure.

I went in for a mani pedi, and they did not disappoint at all. My gel nails were done really well, and the pedicure was well done. Staff were really attentive. Highly recommend.

What a disappoint. I made an appt for a mani and pedi, but the woman had such a bad attitude that I walked out after my pedi. She was constantly annoyed at me, clicking her tongue and getting frustrated at me because I asked for warmer water, wanted my nails cut shorter....basically for everything that required my opinion. So I opted to skip the mani....there’s no way I could have sat through another repeat of that rude behavior. There’s so many better places out there...without the attitude.
