Dr. Sams is absolutely, positively, beyond a shadow of a doubt, the BEST dentist Ive ever been to. Monday I had to have an emergency tooth extraction. He was so laid back and didnt even shame me about my lack of dental work. He just said the important thing is you are here and we are getting this taken care of. Explained exactly what he was going to do and took care of it. Thank you Dr Sams!!!

I feel bad leaving a negative review for a small business during a pandemic, but I felt scammed after leaving here. I went in with excruciating pain where I thought my wisdom teeth were coming in. He took an X-Ray, charged me $160 just to tell me that it happens, rinse with salt water and come back. I went elsewhere for a second opinion shortly after, where it was confirmed I had a dangerous infection which needed immediate attention and that the wisdom tooth needed to come out ASAP as well. Tooth infections can be lethal, I am shocked a medical professional took my money and sent me out the door without so much as an antibiotic. This place might be okay routine cleanups, I wouldnt go here for anything more serious than that though.

Started the day with a horrible toothache and couldn’t find anywhere in my area that was open for emergency dental work. Dr Sams was able to fit me in last minute, and thank goodness because I don’t think I could have gone the whole weekend with that kind of constant pain. He was efficient, kind, easy going, and very understanding. It had been a while since I had seen a dentist and he didn’t shame me for it, as I have been in the past. I 100% recommend his services to anyone. And great work too!

Highway robbery!!! My fiancé went in to see the dentist with a swollen face and what we already believed was incoming wisdom teeth and was charged $134 for 7 minutes of this mans time. We scheduled this appointment and was told it would be a consultation and xrays and was basically given neither. Not only were we not given X-rays but we weren’t even quoted a price to have the teeth removed or if she should have them removed. This is a joke and to think we thought support a private practice was the right thing to do.

Called on Wednesday and they said they could fit me later that day (wow!!), but I had to make an appointment for Saturday because of work. Dr. Sams was very kind and reassuring when I got nervous. I thought I would have to get my tooth pulled, but he rescued it with a filling! Quick visit, soothing atmosphere. Will definitely come again!

I had an emergency situation involving my wisdom tooth. The evening before seeing Dr. Sams, I had bitten down during dinner and got excruciating pain through my wisdom tooth that continued into the next day. For background - both of my top wisdom teeth have been cracked and broken for years. I never had insurance or the out of pocket cash to deal with it so I just kept it as clean as I could and hoped for the best. I also am extremely terrified of the dentist.I called the office that morning at 11:30 AM and was able to get an appointment at 4:00 PM the same day. When I arrived at Dr. Sams’ office, I was super nervous and wasn’t sure what to expect. He was extremely patient and kind and didn’t shame me at all for my lack of dental work. He met me where I was and took care of the issue at hand. He was honest and open about the price of the service if I was to go for it and was great about walking me through what was going to happen. I was shaking like a leaf but he reminded me to breathe. He was extremely kind. We ended up deciding on extraction of the wisdom tooth that was giving me issues. My appointment was at 4:00 and I was walking out the door at 4:30 with NO PAIN. I was in tears because I was incredibly relieved! On the way out I told Dr. Sams that he changed my life and he did. It seems silly but he really helped me overcome my fears and made sure I was comfortable and pain free during the procedure.I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Sams to anyone. He is kind, patient, and non-judgemental. I can’t believe I’m saying this but I’m looking forward to having my other wisdom tooth out next month.

Dr. Sams was great, came from 2 hrs away on a Saturday bc no place near me was open or offered same day emergency extractions. Paid cash for my treatment and wasnt over priced or anything! Ill always come here when I need an emergency appt its definitely worth the drive!!!! Thank you!

Dr. Sams was great! I had a cavity that started to hurt on a Friday night, and I was able to call and be seen in the morning for a filling which was so convenient. I even went back again for more fillings and I was able to get an appointment the same day I called. I get very nervous around needles but Dr. Sams was very calm and easy to work with which helped me relax and made it a nice and easy experience both times. I can tell he is very experienced and knowledgable by the way he explained my x-rays to me. Definitely recommend

Receptionist was rude! Website says they offer in house financing and receptionist said they don’t, nor do they except medical credit card. I said well your website is misleading and she’s said ok. Worst receptionist I have ever talked to.

I made an appointment for 4pm Sunday, August 16 and arrived 15 minutes early as I do for any doctor’s appointment that I have. I was informed upon arrival that the Dr. was running a bit behind and was quoted a time frame of 15-20 minutes late. I did not mind waiting until 4:20 as I was early anyway. However I was not not allowed to wait in the waiting room even though I cam alone and did not drive. I understand that they are being careful due to COVID but I was going to be in the building anyway and when I went in to let them know I arrived, the waiting room was empty but I was still not allowed to wait inside. By 4:35 I still had not received a call saying that it was my turn and another person entered the building as someone was coming out. That person was inside for a while before I decided I should just leave. Big waste of time.

Man Dr Frederick Sam is the guy to go to!! made a morning call at 8 he had me in at 11 Pulled my back tooth out.got the job done with no pain & quick real legit! Place is small but clean! The man did a great job 👍👍 real professional I mean the place is open 24 hours can’t beat that!!

Made an emergency appointment to visit this dentist at 9am on a Monday. Was in horrible pain on Sunday and filled out all the nessacary forms on their website (which included personal information so will be checking my credit report). Called to confirm all the forms were received and never received a call back. Figured I would head down anyway.Was greeted by a rinky dink office that is more a house than any professional dental office. Arrived 15 min early and found parking. Called the office to check in(didnt want to walk right in due to Covid). No answer. Called back no answer. Third call, 2 rings and straight to voicemail a clear use of the ignore button.So here I am parked in my car with lingering tooth pain calling other offices scheduling an appointment with a real dentist and a professional office.Stay away from this place.

Wow. I needed my wisdom tooth extracted badly. Called almost every dentist/oral surgeon in Pittsburgh, and none were able to see me for several days, if not weeks. Called this place, was in the next morning for my tooth extraction. Appointment was at 9, and I was out the door by 9:40. Highly Recommend

First off this place was way better than any big chain dentistry. So even with covid got me in next day. Had a chipped tooth with nerve starting to be effected. Dr. Was on time (appointment right after lunch), was timely with treatment, curtious with me and my wife, was honest and upfront about what was going on, treatment options and how much it would cost, wasnt pushy for more expensive treatment. The dr. Was above super with extraction, i dont do good with needles and he made it quick and as painless as possible! The extraction went flawless I mean i have no severe pain or soreness heck eating soup and noodles 24 hours after! My previous extraction had me in bed for 2 days. If you need or want work done dont look anywhere different then this place, they care about you and taking care of you

Had a tooth extracted yesterday, by far the best experience I had at a dentist office. Woke up this morning with no pain at ALL! DR Sams is very transparent with the pricing and procedures done/ needs to be done. I couldnt believe how reasonable the price was considering the 10 star service I received. Go here before anywhere else, he will work with you to make sure you are taken care of.🏆

I had a dental emergency a few weeks ago in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. I got an appointment with my regular provider, but I had to wait over a weekend. On a Friday, as my pain got worse, I tried unsuccessfully to get an emergency weekend appointment with my provider. My wife and I started frantically calling for a weekend appointment that Friday evening. Dr. Sams fit me into his schedule at 10 AM on Saturday. He got me out of pain that day, and I am still pain free. Thank you Dr. Sams for all of your assistance.

I called in at 5pm and was seen at 7pm that same evening! Dr. Sams was sensitive to my anxiety about dental work and even took the time to explain the process before he began. I will continue to see him for preventative care because he does amazing work.

If I could rate this man a zero I would. I was charged $400 for a wisdom tooth extraction. (Just 1 tooth) I had paid prior to the service since he was persistent with the payment. It took him 3 hours to remove my tooth. With out my knowledge he ended up cracking another tooth trying to extract my wisdom tooth. I went back to talk to him with no answer to the door and would not respond to my phone calls. So I had to go to another dentist to have my tooth fixed.

Called twice to try and get emergency appointment as new patient. Kept getting answering machine, left detailed message and havent returned any calls?

Have repeatedly gone back to Dr Sams for work that other dentist have only given minor attention to. Is it the most high tech office Ive been in...no but Im more interested in the results and competence than shiny sinks. I keep going back because the work that has been done in the shiny offices and has cost thousands of dollars has failed and now the good Dr has to clean up their mistakes.

DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT GOT TO THIS DENTIST!!! The office is shady, the dentist is shady and will bill you for services YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE!!! Emergency services are a cash or credit card situation and he doesnt accept insurance for emergency visits, why? Because he(the dentist) will lie and say you were given a root canal and YOU NEVER DID!!!I cant make this up.. GO HERE AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!

On my last business trip to Pittsburgh I was out eating dinner with some clients and accidentally chipped one of my front teeth, how embarrassing!! Luckily Pittsburgh Dentistry was able to see me first thing the next morning and was able to fix my tooth rather quickly. I was super impressed by their professional and friendly staff who took care of me like I was a regular client. If I lived in the Pittsburgh area, Pittsburgh Dentistry would be my dentist for sure, these guys are first class all the way!!

Thank you Dr.Sams. I called around 10 am with a terrible toothache and was in at 3pm. He explained everything to me and was very kind. He gave me the options to what I could have done after x-raying the problem tooth and let me decide the course of action. I am now pain free.

As some have mentioned it might not be the most modern or nicest looking office, but the service is amazing. I broke a crown and called Dr. Sams at 5:00pm he was able to get me in at 8:00pm same day. Dr Sams was extremely friendly and professional. He got my tooth fixed up in roughly 1 hour and I was on my way. His charges were more than reasonable. I was extremely satisfied with my visit.

Once again I was at Pittsburgh Dentistry. It was a great experience again. I was dying with tooth pain. Dr. Sam helped me out and give me relief... I recommend Pittsburgh Dentistry for you and your family dental care.

Had a major problem with a tooth that needed a root canal. The pain was unbelievable but Dr Sams worked to find the problem. He was excellent in everything he did. I would gladly go back anytime a problem happened. Same day appointment and excellent service!

I had been experiencing pretty severe tooth pain for almost a week. This past Saturday I finally decided that I needed some emergency dental work. Of course being Saturday my options were limited. I did a quick Google search and found Pittsburgh Dentistry listed as being open. Not expecting to get an answer, let alone an appointment that day, I was surprised when Dr Sams answered. I gave him a brief run down of my issue he told me he could see me in a couple of hours. In the meantime I read a few reviews about his practice. Many of them were glowing but several were very negative. This definitely made me skeptical but I didnt have any other choice unless I wanted to live with the severe throbbing pain in my mouth until Monday or longer. My actual experience was nothing short of amazing. Dr. Sam did a quick exam of the problem area, took an x-ray, explained what the issue was, and was then courteous enough to numb the effected area before going over pricing with me. His prices were very fair and very cleary and thoroughly explained. The actual procedure was quick and painless and he did a very good job of telling me what to expect and what he was doing. Before I knew it I was back home and when the novocaine wore off my previously throbbing tooth felt a lot better. The entire experience, from the time I called to when I was back home pain free, took only a few hours. The bottom line is this: dont believe any of the negative reviews about this place. If you need emergency dental care this place can help.

Go to emergency room for your pain and antibiotics, then visit your regular family dentist Monday morning if I had done this it would have saved me about $1200 when you factor in his ridiculous fees lost wages for 2 days and the cost of having to still go to my regular family dentist.I would give 0 stars if possible.☠☠☠☠☠☠☠☠☠

Horrible experience!! I made an appointment with this dentist for my boyfriend for an emergency appointment. When we arrived we noticed the office and equipment were extremely outdated but decided it didn’t matter if the job was done properly. He was told he had an abscess tooth and would need a root canal and it would take two visits. We made the appointment for the second visit for the following Wednesday at 4pm. When we arrived for that appointment the door was locked and a sign was on the door that said the dr. would be back at 4:15. Frustrated, we waited and at 4:20 noticed the dr leaving the office. When I confronted him he said he needed to go and get water at the store. I have no idea why he wasn’t prepared as we had made the appointment a week prior. We waited till 4:45 to have the appointment since we had already come out to the office and after a 90 minute appointment we were told he would still need to see him for another appointment. After the third appointment he told us we would still need to make an appointment to get a crown. We made an appointment with another dentist who was recommended to us and he informed us there was still decay present in the tooth and the root canal was not completed properly the first time. He showed us X-rays of the decay still present in the tooth. I am in disbelief, after we had been in 3 times the procedure wasn’t completed correctly!I debated whether to leave a negative review and decided to ultimately leave one because the reviews that claim this dr as 5 stars are clearly paid for. Do yourself a favor and find another doctor.

Fixed my toothache in 45 mins for a very reasonable price (especially considering it was 9pm when I came in). Great service and a nice clean space.

I went to see Dr Sams today. He was a very professional person and was very thorough as he done various procedures to figure out what was causing my pain. He explained everything and listened to my questions! I did not get any work done as I need a root canal/extraction. My insurance will cover most of the work as he didnt take my insurance. No big deal. I read some of the other reviews about the cleanliness and the prices. Well his prices I guess were right on and yes, he has older equipment and shadyside is an older town so you wont be at the Taj Mahal! Lol! All his tools were out opened from a sterilized bag like at any other dentist Ive been at! Do NOT judge this doctor because of this, if he accepted my insurance, I would drive the 46.3miles to see him when I need dental work!!! Thank you Dr Sams for seeing me in two hours after I called!!!!

So there I am, enjoying a delicious philly cheesesteak when BAM! I crack a molar on a little piece of bone. Ugh. I needed to see a dentist right away and Pittsburgh Dentistry was able to get me in immediately. Their 24 hour emergency line was a life saver.Dr. Sams was gentle and the assistants kept everything moving at a quick pace. The whole thing, from check-in to check-out took about 2 hours - not bad for an after-hours emergency visit. Thanks Pittsburgh Dentisty!

Website says their open 24/7 but no one there to pick up phone and their mail box is full you can not even leave a message on Saturday or Sundays.

Stay AWAY. I dont know how this place is legal. Everything in this office is realy old. And is dirty too. I am still in shock. Isnt there any agency that checks how clean an office is in order to receive the license ?
