The Stewart is a great place to live, although some reviews may say differently. With any apartment, there will be flaws and issues, especially when living in a 19 story building, you cannot make everyone happy. But there were no major flaws that made this place unpleasant. I truly enjoyed living at The Stewart. It was a clean, quiet, awesome place to live with awesome amentities with the rooftop pool and gym being two of my favorites. It truly is a community, and I met so many new friends. Management even hosts resident events, which only adds to why it’s an awesome place to live! There is so much to do within walking distance, and it’s right on the north side of Phoenix making it a city-feel home. The Stewart has been through different management teams, however, Kelly and Bryce recently stepped in and have done an AMAZING job making changes and they truly prioritize what the residents ask of. They have made an outstanding effort to make everyone happy. From my personal experience, I had no issues that turned me away. I had a safe, clean, quiet, enjoyable home. I believe that with the efforts of the new team, including Kelly and Bryce, The Stewart will continue to grow and be an awesome community to live in.

Had a great experience a few weeks ago with a member of the staff here; Bryce! I dont typically write reviews but Id thought Id take the time to write this one. From start to finish Bryce was extremely curious and professional! There was no more parking the day I arrived, this particular staff took their time to move their personal car up two blocks so I could take their park and tour! Bryce was extremely patient and answered all 1 million of my questions while showing me around the beautiful building! Even introduced me to some of the residents while on tour. Im new to the area, so if this is the type of staff I expect, I will definitely be considering staying here!

Truly horrible experience. I was working with a property manager that quit mid way through me signing a lease. I had paid for the admin and application fee and was told those would be able to be refunded if it didnt work out because I was looking so far in advance. After that then they told me they were unwilling to hold my apartment because it was one of the only ones with that specific floor plan. I was told I could push back my move in date no issue by Allison, then it became an issue 3 weeks later. I was promised free parking and then they took that away as well even though I had it in writing that would be part of my lease. Getting a call back is impossible if you have any questions. Working with Kelly was very disappointing as she is new and went back on every promise that was made to me. I tried to work this out with Kelly and she was unwilling to uphold the promises made by the previous property manager. This place is an absolute mess, would not recommend.in response to their response: I was told you did not actually have a unit that would be available to me as you can see from the attached photo. Again would not recommend, weird sales tactics and constantly going back on their promises.

I stayed at this property while on a business trip through a 3rd party vendor. While my experience with that vendor was great, The Stewart itself is a poor excuse for a “luxury” apartment. Consistently dirty elevator floors, cheap appliances, units make A LOT of noise whether it’s from the AC or random whatever’s in the wall, poor shower pressure with lukewarm temperatures. There were many red flags but the biggest would be the one that occurred on 3/13/21. I was on my way back to the unit and the building was surrounded by police...apparently someone was holding their girlfriend hostage on the 8th floor (according to the police officer that was preventing me from going my unit). On a positive note, at least the views were nice?

I would not recommend to live here. Weve had problems with parking and sent emails with no resolution as well as there no one being available to remove the cars from the parking spot. I shouldnt have to be coming back from my shift at work and there being a small chance I have nowhere to park despite paying for the service. Additionally, the trash chutes have been backed up and the trash rooms are filled with trash at times. Like a couple other reviews, the building isnt always cleaned the way it should be, especially the elevators. For how much we pay on rent [especially since we pay for an assigned parking spot], I would expect much better on this and for at least someone to be available for any problems needing resolution. A very disappointing experience.

Living at the Stewart has been a mixed experience. At casual glance, the building certainly *looks* luxurious and while there are some nice amenities throughout, it seems that perhaps the developers ran over budget before opening the project as corners seem to have been cut at other places. The bad :Most of the bathroom fixtures are made from surprisingly cheap materials and seem to be not well constructed. Same with veneer wood panels in the kitchen that are continually peeling off and shoddy cabinet handles and uneven paint jobs. Dirty hallway carpets and lifts. At least 4 power outlets were not working in our unit. Our floor lost power three times in one month suggesting an electrical wiring issue. Some (many?) of the guests are really inconsiderate and irresponsible, trashing common areas, but especially the pool, with absolutely no regard for other guests. The pool is unusable on the weekends because of the volume of outside guests that are brought onto the property (with no oversight from building management), leaving the pool water absolutely filthy and common areas trashed with rubbish. The good:The location is very convenient, situated near public transit and in the heart of the Roosevelt Art district. The rooftop pool is a joy to use *if* it has been thoroughly cleaned and properly maintained which was a continuous struggle during our tenancy. The building managers were very very pleasant to interact with but sadly one got the impression that they were short manpower or resources to deliver the luxurious experience that The Stewart website promised. The Stewart *could* be an exceptional property but sadly it seems to be plagued with ongoing issues, lack of resources and/or manpower and its inability to decide if it wants to be a well appointed property for adults or a frat or sorority for drunk and inconsiderate kids.

Initially when I first toured the apartment, the two girls I worked with could not have been nicer. Im not sure if Adara still works there but 5 stars for her because she was always incredible. When I moved in, the building had just opened and there were very few people living there at the time. Once I moved in, it went very rapidly dowhill. As an FYI, I stayed at this apartment part-time so my experience might be different than others. There have been multiple times when I have put in maitenance requests that go unanswered for weeks. I had a beeping smoke alarm going off for 5 whole days before anyone responded to me. If I needed to get someone on the phone or via email, it took days & sometimes weeks to get a response. Im currently without power in half of my apartment (this is also something that happens frequently) and trying to get anyone to reposnd via phone or email is impossible. Even going in person to try to speak to someone - no one is ever there. Its incredible. There is a lot of disorganization as well. As an example, I was initially given a parking spot on the top floor - one day an email is sent out saying no one can park on the top floor. Out of curiousity I asked why, and I was met with a flippant not your business response. They assigned me a new parking spot. This parking spot had a vehicle in it - I informed them of this for weeks. They give me a temp spot, this spot also already had someone in it. A week or so later, they tell me that my new spot was actually in use by someone in active military (i.e. overseas at the time). I completely understood and would very obviously take any available spot. But before recitifying with me they attempted to make me feel guilty for complaining because he was active military. They then sent out an apartment wide parking audit email becuase it was clear they had no idea who was assigned what spot. Over my 18 month lease they did this audit twice. Come to find out, they moved the parking to make room for Sonder guests and were not wantng residents to find this out. Needless to say, the communication really bothered me here. It was nonexistent. My other huge issue is that many of the apartments are now available to be rented as hotels through Sonder for people visting Phoenix. Which turns the upstairs pool area into a place for people on vacation to party and not a place for residents to relax. I used the pool at 11am on a Saturday and there were girls topless in the pool. Which is very well some peoples speed but perhaps just not mine. Please please please recognize the red flags here. They would not need to rent two floors to Sonder if anyone actually wanted to live here. Lastly, Id caution you to really walk around the area (esp. at night) before renting here. Ive lived in some sketchy areas in the past - this one felt the most unsafe to me. Going to elaborate on the safety aspect because Ive had quite a few incidents walking at night (and broad daylight) where Ive been followed, yelled at, had trash (and urine, very exciting!) thrown at me by homeless people. And that is my experience being there VERY rarely. So please just note that the beautiful historical building next to the Stewart is a homeless shelter for the mentally ill. This place is the worst, you would be so much better off anywhere else.

Sonder McKinley was a disappointment for me. The building itself is fine. Sonder listed my 1 month rental as a 1 bedroom and it was a studio. Instead of a couch, they provided 2 metal and vinyl uncomfortable chairs. Due to the low flow water pressure, showering was not enjoyable at all. I asked Sonder for more supplies like coffee and toilet paper and was denied. They claim to be luxury but fall short in many ways. I could have stayed at the Wyndham down the street for $30 less a night and most certainly wish I had.

I can’t even begin to explain how incredible my experience has been here. All of staff is absolutely wonderful but I can’t say enough good things about my leasing agent, Adara. Since I was moving from out of state I didn’t get the opportunity to see my apartment or the community until two days before move in. This idea had felt like a nightmare but Adara went ABOVE AND BEYOND to ease my worries. She went out of her way to FaceTime me and show me the unit and the amenities MULTIPLE times. She kept in close communication for about two months and was so accommodating to a few last minute changes I had to make. She really made this place feel like home since day one. Now that I’m finally living here I know I made the right decision as the community is just as great. The neighbors are all friendly and the place is kept spotless! So far this place is worth every penny!

I moved into The Stewart in mid January of 2020 and have had issues since about day 7 in my place. Security and cleanliness are nonexistent in this building. A common occurrence is large groups of intoxicated non tenants walking in the building and using the amenities and trashing the place. This is a weekly occurrence. This continues to occur even during the pandemic. Masks are not being worn and common areas and surfaces are not cleaned or sanitized. Complaints to management fall on deaf ears. They also rent out an entire floor to Sonder guests (AirBNB type of thing). This is not disclosed upfront when you sign the lease. These Sonder guests use and abuse the amenities that the tenants pay a premium for. And there have been instances where these guests have been extremely rude to tenants. This place has turned into a free for all frat house with the police being called on multiple occasions. I would highly recommend thinking twice before signing a lease here.

My girlfriend Ann and I came to tour this property one day while we were out walking around. We called and talked to a girl named Aleksandra who helped us find our way to their leasing office. She even stood outside wearing a neon vest so that we could better find her. Which as simple of a task as it is, it’s definitely going the extra mile and made us feel welcome. We were taken on tour by her and a girl named Sam. Both of them I HIGHLY recommend to talk to. They answered every question easily and gave us so much information on the property and the neighborhood. We are new to Phoenix so this was greatly appreciated. The property was amazing and the elevators were fast and smooth - which is definitely something to think about if you’re looking to live in a high rise. We toured the floor plan called “The Elton”. The floor-to-ceiling windows in that unit were amazing. We also saw “The Costello” which we loved because it had exposed concrete in the unit that added this cool vibe to the whole thing. The appliances were extremely nice as well. If you’re a cooker, like us, you will appreciate the oven and dishwasher - that’s all I’m going to give you. The rest, like the pool, you must see in person. This is NOT a drill, favorite place in Phoenix so far :)

The building is beautiful, with a seemingly endless list of amenities - seriously I sometimes have to review just make sure I haven’t forgotten something. I returned to Arizona thinking I would be relegated to living in the same poorly lit, fully carpeted casitas style offerings that the valley is lousy with. The garage even has ChargePoint stations for EV charging!!! Don’t even get me started on the pool area. This is one of very few properties in the area that offers non carpeted units. The location, pool and gym are spectacular. The units are spacious and views are amazing. Like any apartment building built post 2015 they define themselves as luxury which I feel too many of the residents have taken to heart in regards to their expectations. I read plenty of negative reviews that almost deterred me from renting here but looked past what yelpers have to say and went with my gut. I can tell you Im very happy to call this place home. There are a few drawbacks that were not disclosed when moving in first being this building is currently used as an Airbnb building which allows almost anyone from the general public to stay here if they can pay the nightly rate. This can be frustrating as there is a lack of vetting nightly renters which ultimately falls on Sonder (Airbnb third party company) the second is there are issues with some of the engineering when it comes to electrical and plumbing which can be attributed to the lowest bid subcontractor winning the bid, like any development. Management has been middle of the road in terms of supplying high quality service but they are limited in the capacity they can affect change. Considering all these components I am still happy I chose to rent here and am a little turned off by the handful of residents who seem to make it their life purpose to find everything that is wrong and demand they deserve better because they are paying for luxury & world class service ... Im guessing theyve never actually experienced luxury & world class service youd get at a Ritz Carlton, Waldorf or St. Regis... this is far from that but its a new concrete building in an amazing location and if you choose to pay the rent you do, thats on you. My rating is what I would give it as a hotel rating considering the amenities, location and service. Solid 4 star that doesnt charge a $50 resort fee

I became a resident at the end of July, they say that their vision is to Deliver world-class service to all; however, they miss the mark. I wish I was more observant when I was initially looking. You may also say BOY this guy is picky! Well, youre right, and if you were paying over $3,300 for an apartment in a luxury building, you would be too! I didnt have enough space to define all of the issues that exist clearly, when I hit submit the site said I had to delete 9470 characters of my review so this is an abbreviated version. Construction quality, fit, and finish are not high end or high quality. I have several service tickets open now since 8/05 and still arent resolved.Issues present Cabinets, Paint, Flooring, Mirrors, Toilets, Showers, Grout, Closet System, Towel Bars, Microwave, HVAC, Balcony Door, and the list that goes on. Just things you dont think about UNTIL you move in, use it and look closer. Common areas are dirty deep down. Amenity areas have stains on the floors and furniture because of homeless people being found sleeping and living in them. When I asked what was being done to disinfect areas, I was looked at in dismissiveness. Homeless people using facilities to sleep and touching fixtures, beverage centers bathrooms and surfaces is an issue, most struggle with hygiene and often are carriers of germs and other problems such as parasittes , diseases, and infectious hepatitis. I was told there was 24-hour security and concierge there is not. Homeless have been found multiple times INSIDE the building by me and other residents. They have been squatting in un-leased units on residence floors and are also sleeping in the parking garage, emergency exit locations, on the benches out front and in the alley behind. Security lights are either obstructed or none-functioning. When deliveries/ guests come, to provide them access u have to come down to let them in. The call boxes do not function. For 3 weeks our entrance from the garage was locked with a bike lock, forcing us to walk all the way around the building even of a night (yes with homeless and darkness). Construction crew vehicles park in guests spots causing them to park off-site. The community cant and have no intention to fulfill a claim of luxury. LEASE ELSEWHERE; I and others regret moving here. . I did speak with the Empire Group(Building owner)several weeks ago and was assured that someone would reach out, and as of this review, I still have yet to be contacted.

Worst, most unprofessional experience touring an apartment. The property manager gave my fiance and I a tour while stuffing her face eating the whole time... Once we politely explained we didnt think we were interested anymore after seeing the models (because we could not have been more unimpressed with the stewart) and that we were too set on a different apartment. She started to bash that other apartment and basically mock our choice rather than being understanding and realizing that some people she gives tours to may not be interested anymore. As we were parting ways out the building she was yelling things at us while walking away still mocking the apartment. She was extremely immature especially for being so old, it was actually shocking and sad. My fiance left a review on facebook and then she tried to say we had never even toured the place... Biggest sell out. As far as the actual physical apartment, still not ready, extremely small units, hallways are bare and concrete everywhere, you are getting absolutely nothing out of it.
