Moved out of here a couple months ago and im glad i did. views are breathtaking and the apartments themselves are very nice and spacious. however, there is a roach problem, even with the extermination. people would throw huge parties and have people all over the parking lot, they even set off the fire alarms once for almost 2 hours. there were only 2 working elevators for most of my time there, out of the four. when i moved in i was told they were supposedly going to remodel my hallway, and they hadnt even started until when i moved out a year later. my floor had very loud neighbors and always smelled like smoke and mold. one of my neighbors had a shower leak and they didnt fix the hole and water damage in the wall for months. i couldnt use the pool for half of the time i was living there. they have about 10 guest spots for the entire building, and its not like there is close street parking so good luck having anyone over. the apartments are very nice and have potential to be a great place to live, but as of right now i would stray away. the price is not bad, especially since utilities are included... but fair warning of the issues. not worth the money to me.

DO NOT LIVE HERE IF YOU ARE ACTIVE DUTY MILITARY! The complete and total disregard and disrespect for your schedule by the management at this complex is astounding. I’m from NYC and grew up living in apartment buildings with varying levels of management. The management I have dealt with here takes the top of the list for staff that could care less about their tenets. I am in the process of moving out due to PCSing (Permanent Change of Station) after giving the proper amount of time for intent to vacate, showing my orders, and emailing the complex manager with my need for reservation of the freight elevator, she responded and said we were good. I thought my moving troubles would be assisted and taken care of. When the moving company arrived today there was a different moving company pulled into the loading bay, and after speaking to the office my wife and I were told that we had no reservation for the elevator to move. I then told the office staff that I had already contacted the manager over a month ago and was told “Pam (the building manager) has not been into the building in a month.” I asked why that would have any effect on why no one has been communicating and was told that they couldn’t help. Thankfully both moving companies were super kind and very flexible and we were able to take care of the move. The office workers harassed my movers while they were trying to work. This office lies, makes claims that have no backing, and are always very quick to tell you how great their legal team is. If you are active duty and choose to live here please be prepared to use your JAG (Military Lawyer) so you can look through the tenant rights and see all the areas that they choose to neglect you. It is a beautiful building with friendly tenants with beautiful views, but not worth any of the mistreatment from the office.

This is the second time that I have worked at these apartments. The first time they hadn’t been renovated and the leasing agent I worked with Josephine was incredibly cold and rude and unprofessional when she talked. She didn’t really care about me and acted as if it didn’t matter if I rented or not. Ironically two years later when I decided to look at renting again it was the exact same experience with the exact same person I originally was working with somebody else the second time and for whatever reason I was forced to work with this wonderful person again. After looking at the renovated apartments they were not very good looking. There was disgusting carpets outside where it looks like they had been soiled. For the amount of money in the location of this property you would expect it to be much nicer or The rent cheaper. Or at the very least have property managers that care about their applicants.

My husband lived here since 2018, and I moved in with him in 2020. I never got on the lease, because the front office seemed to keep losing my paperwork and communicated poorly on what was going on with my application. $50 Ill never get back. Same issue when we were in the process of moving out: poor communication and losing paperwork. We had a studio apartment and it was ok, the interior design was definitely outdated. Love the new balconies though. I dont think the price reflected accurately for its value. Sure the location and views are great. As for the other amenities; the sauna and jacuzzi are just there for decoration, fitness center is dusty. Parking lot is a flood hazard and there are only 10 visitor parking spots. Overall, our living experience was slightly average.

Living at Hague Towers is a very good value for the cost. Patience is required given the building’s age, esp if you chose an unrenovated apt like me. In six months, I’ve had several things occur that required a response from the mgmt team. Overall, I am satisfied with their responsiveness and quick action. Emergency maintenance is available 24/7 as well. If you live here, take the time to connect with the office staff. If you have any issues please remember they are human beings when communicating with them. Ultimately, youre asking them to do something for you. demonstrating appropriate patience is very key to gaining a resolution.

If you want an office staff that will not follow through with maintenance fixes, THIS IS DEFINITELY THE PLACE FOR YOU!!! I wish I would have known that if my dishwasher wasnt working that they would take a month to fix it (p.s. it is still not fixed). The dishwasher flooded my kitchen floor and I put in a request. They came that night and said they would be in the next day. The next day they brought a new one but it wouldnt work. So they said they would come back I put in a request two weeks later because they never came back. Here we are three weeks later and the office is ignoring me. And they keep completing the maintenance tickets but wont fix it. So I am essentially paying for an amenity that I specifically looked for when finding a place to rent. So new my apartment stinks because the water line to the dishwasher is messed up and they refuse to fix it so they just decided to ignore the situation instead. I have rented before and never had this issue. This is your warning to not rent here.

I love living at The Hague Towers and in downtown Norfolk. It’s a wonderful building, quiet, and well kept. The tenants range from their 20s into their 70s, which makes living here even more enjoyable. The Chrysler Museum is 5 minute walk away; overall, it’s a good neighborhood for walking and bicycling too.

They took my application fee and didnt respond back to me for 3 weeks, then finally a month and a half after beginning my application they denied it without giving any reason. Please do not waste youre time here, they will take your money and leave you waiting for weeks for nothing. To do this especially during covid takes a special kind of heartless monsters.

I love living at the Hague Towers in Norfolk, VA. For many years this has been my home. The views from ceiling-to-floor windows are breathtaking. Every apartment has spacious balconies which is a must for me.The location is perfect: The access to the interstate is very close; access to shopping mall, variety stores, food stores, cultural sites (Chrysler Museum etc), restaurants, (especially in the old Ghent and downtown area) entertainment, hospitals, learning centers, and waterfront are very convenient. You can step out the building and immediately go for a walk around the Hague inlet. Many options for relaxation. The Hague Towers complex is offering many amenities. This is an older place, however, management always has kept up with the changing times. It has been through many upgrades and continues to do so on a large scale.Things go wrong at times, but maintenance is available around the clock and responds quickly.I will continue to live here and do recommend the Hague Towers to anyone looking for an apartment in an urban area.

Welcome to Plague Towers. This place is disgusting and has a really bad management. There was a water leakage in my kitchen and the mold spread fast because of the humidity. I complained so many times to the manager but she shrugged and told me shes not a mold expert. The problem was never fixed and I had breathing issues because of the mold. The kitchen old furnitures and the walls are full of roaches and they keep coming out.The bathroom lacks a vent so bad smells keep coming from the other apartments, the good thing is that you can smell weed for free. One month before I left the bathroom ceiling fell because of a huge water leakage. The building is literally falling apart. One side of the parking floods once a day and its hard to find a spot if you get home late. You can find a much better place for the same price or less, even in same neighborhood. Stay away!

Nice apartments with plenty of space. I like the large windows and the superb living room. The building is older than others, but the new staff is working hard to renovate it. If you do not care brand new apartments, rent a still-to-be-renovated flat: prices are convenient and all inclusive (water, air conditioning, electricity and parking). To be considered is the penthouse swimming pool, that you can enjoy all the year around.

Enjoy living at The Hague Towers. It is in the best location for restaurants, the arts, theatre and downtown. If you do not feel like driving the light rail is just across the street. Love the roomiest of the Apartments. Balconies are nice and big...enjoy my outdoor space. Was asked for another review this afternoon in my email. I still feel the same as previously stated. The only thing I wish for is for the back lawn be upgraded for residents to use for leisure, grilling....and the dog area be condensed to a smaller area away from grills, etc.

We moved in 01/24/2019. We lived at the Pembroke Towers for 4 years. This is The Hague Towers sister property. (Not much better) anyway, our first week we noticed a sewage smell. We alerted management immediately. Josephine came up and suggested lemons. We did so. No change. 2 weeks go by. Still having the terrible, foul odor. Fast forward to mid February. The second floor catches fire. The entire building was filled with smoke at 1am in the morning. I pulled 3 fire alarms. Not one worked. We had severe smoke damage. And no electric or water for 5 days. That’s fine. We put up with that inconvenience. But they did not offer to pay for any damages. That’s fine. We had renters insurance. Had to pay a 500.00 deductible. Plus hotel fees. Plus deal with the sewage and now smoke smell. Fast forward to 6 months later. Still nothing was done about our smell. That’s fine. It’s now January our lease is up. Thank God. We are moving. But I pray this review stops you from moving into The Hague. It’s not just the smell. The building is old and run down. 4 elevators and only 1 works at a time. The hallways were remodeled. But done very tacky and cheap. The management did nothing to keep us as residents. We paid on time. Barley complained. Even with the smell. But that’s ok. We have moved on. But don’t make the same mistake we did. Spend the few extra hundred dollars on utilities because it’s not worth it. They turn the air off when it’s hot. And turn the heat on when they want. They control your comfort levels and it’s not worth it. Everything included is not as good as it sounds. Go somewhere like the Aurora or Freemason. Much newer and much better staff. The staff is really the main reason we left. Completely unprofessional and uncouth. Happy hunting.

I lived here for a year and a half while in medical school, and the first year I lived here it was fine. The apartments are clean and the doorman is a nice safety feature, and it is very convenient to the medical campus. The parking lot routinely floods during a hard rain, so do not leave your car there if you are going out of town. My second year in Hague towers, a pipe burst in my wall and flooded my apartment. This was at around 11pm, and the doorman could do nothing to help at that hour. The emergency maintenance person simply told me to go to a hotel for the evening, and I would need to find another place to live the next day. She did absolutely nothing to help me, and the next day told me that there were no similar priced units in the building and I would have to sign a new lease for a higher rent. As I was in the middle of the school year and needed to study, I signed a 6 month lease for a more expensive unit and promptly moved out. I was very unhappy with having to pay a higher rent for another unit, when it was a mechanical failure with the building itself that was responsible for my eviction.I would like to addend my review. Since I moved out the Hague Towers has come under new management and Shirl, the new manager is very helpful. I needed to obtain some lease paperwork after I had moved out, and had very prompt and pleasant service from the administrative office. Thank you Shirl for all your help.

Nice building. Service leaves something to be desired. We have put in multiple work requests and none of them have been completed. The staff just mark them as done and hope you forget. I suspect there is mold under my bathtub because I can hear water slosh under my tub when Im standing on it. I also have been seeing many cockroaches around the building. The back parking lot floods with every high tide or heavy rain. Will not be my lease and will never recommend it to anyone.Edit: Since the staff replied and made it seem like Im not voicing my concerns to them, I wanted to be clear. I have spent much time in the front office boxing concerns about various issues and none of them got taken care of in less than a month. The water under my tub only got fixed after 3 months of my pestering and insisting that it be fixed. The poor service is the #1 reason I am moving out.

There was a parking issue for a while but that has been addressed and parking is not an issue anymore. Of the numerous service calls I have had for various issues, every single one was fixed in a timely and professional manner. A portion of the parking lot does flood occasionally but that is uncontrollable. The walls in the apartment are pretty soundproof. Trash chutes on every floor, balconies on all the apartments, and all utilities included in rent, what more could you want? Overall I have had an awesome time here at Hauge Towers. Me and my husband have been living in Hague Towers for almost one year now...weve got an old apartment but things went quite well until last summer when a water leakage in the pipes within the wall has suddenly occured, right behind our kitchen cabinets. Mold developed very fast, turning our kitchen into a cellar. We could not shut the windows and turn AC on otherwise it would be hard to breathe. We complained many times with the management, but all they did was applying killer spray without fixing the real issues that is still there. They offered us to move to another apartment, which was as old as the one we are staying now, and they wanted us to stay for at least six months...NO WAY! Besides mold (and allergy issues me and my husband have developed in the meantime), I can give a list of additional issues:- poor water pressure from the shower- smells coming from other apartments through the bathroom air vent (not only food) on a regular basis- bathroom and bath tub sinks stuck up every other day- regular flooding in the parking lot- 1 elevator out of 4 is regularly working (despite endless works that I dont get what they were for)The only thing you can enjoy, if you live on upper floors, is a view of the historic neighborhood Ghent, which is impressive sometimes at sunset...That being said, you dont unfortunately live on your balcony so we are moving out in december (end of our leasing time). I would definitely not recommend Hague Towers, you can find something much better for the same or even betterprice.

I now make my concerns public in hopes it benefits those looking to potentially find residence at Hague Towers. If my mostly 1 star review alone does not convince you then let me provide some context.I have had the immense displeasure of staying in Hague Towers for nearly 2 years. In this time I have come to endure the property’s vain attempts at providing a quality living.1.A/CIt is provided for 4 months out of the year. May 1st - August 30th. It breaks often. In fact as I write this review it is May 17th and the AC is broken. Interesting that they seem to always be missing a part.We have just come off the hottest April where there was simply no relief from the temperature. In fact the heat in the buildings hall ways was still pumping, making it an almost unbearable temperature. If you must live in Hell Towers I highly recommend you purchase a nearby storage unit to ensure the safety of any possessions damaged by heat/humidity.2. FloodingIt happens far more frequently than anyone in previous reviews wants to acknowledge. High tide will certainly make the nearest 10-15 spots unsafe for any low car, as well as completely block off the rear exit forcing residents to the main entrance/exit and U-turn on brambleton 2 lights away.In just 2 shorts years I have seen no less than 5 cars ruined. Now, many of you may be laying blame on the resident, but during the two major storms I have endured at the Hague, very little communication was given to residence on their parking options, in fact all I heard were threats of towing for those desperately parking their cars in un-designated spots.3. Elevators. There are 3 elevators and 1 freight elevator at the Hague. I would only bank on two elevators to be running at any time though. More often than not an elevator will leave you stuck on a random floor or simply blaring it’s alarm in the Lobby. Though it only happened once, a little over a year ago an elevator shaft flooded. Luckily no one was injured but if you have a fear of older poorly serviced elevators, this is not the building for you.4. Car Break-InsAlmost every single night in the last 2 years of my residency someone has had their car broken into. Signage is placed in the lobby warning those to “park closer to the building & lock your doors” an interesting suggestion considering most park far away to avoid random flooding. My car has only been broken into once (luckily) but from the frequency of the signs and what I hear in the lobby & elevators the Hague Tower’s parking lot is a frequent stop for thieves.5. Smoking ‘Friendly’Considering you will spend a good 4 months out of the year with your windows and balcony door open simply to keep your apartment cool you should be wary of smokers. I live below a chain smoker and have become numb to the smell of his/her frequent bad habit. My cloths often have that ash-tray smell if they go more than a month hanging in the closet without a wash. It is only an issue considering that box fans are constantly blasting into your apartment. In ClosingI would not recommend Hague Towers to anyone trying to live in Norfolk, Va. If you are willing to spend over 1k a month than you can find much much nicer places in Downtown for just slightly more. If want to spend less, well you can rent apartments and houses in ghent with year round window units for 750-850. In 2015, if you are satisfied with an outdated building and a general lack of the ability to provide listed amenities then this is building for you. As I finish out the last 2 months of my lease, I want to ensure no other young working professional makes the same mistake I do.But hey, it’s got a great view of Downtown! The best of luck to you...
