Cancelled an eight day stay only 12 days ahead of my trip. Offered to match rate at Residence Inn Central Park, but that hotel has numerous recent reviews complaining about cancellations on no notice. So, bottom line, it seems like this franchisee is not very clear on their business plan right now and should be avoided.

My friend and I stayed for the weekend while in town to see a Broadway play. I researched the many hotels near Times Square and chose this one based on reviews that it was quiet and that the elevators worked well and fast. We were very happy with our choice. Staff was friendly and helpful. Hotel was clean and well kept, room was a good size.We didnt have to wait long for the elevators. Location was excellent!! I wouldnt count on the hotel for breakfast; it was minimal but there are many restaurants within blocks of the hotel. The coffee was good.

This hotel is centrally located close to Bryant Park and Times Square. Perfect. I was surprised at how quiet it was, except for the vent in the bathroom which had a low hum. I didnt notice it after a while. The staff was friendly and good at keeping everything and everyone moving. We never had to wait for anything. The room was clean, the bed comfortable, nice sheets. It seemed like everyone we met complained about the elevators, as there are only 3 and they cover 33 floors in this old building with modernized decor. Overall, this is what I needed for this trip - clean and efficient. I would stay again but I might now use 30,000 points again. You could likely pay a lot less in money than in points.

Great weekend! We came NYC for my daughters 13th birthday and first Broadway show. She has a tough birthday-- in between Christmas and New Years (read: super expensive everywhere you go, esp NYC!)... but the staff went out of their way to make it special. Karen at the front desk and Jason the bellman were particularly fantastic. We had a room on the 27th floor, so we could see the Empire State Building lot up for the holidays. The room was simple but suited our needs-- 2 comfy full beds, blackout curtains, a tv, a mini fridge, storage in the closet... and again, loved the view! We could still hear street noise, but we have a white noise machine when we travel so it didnt effect our sleep. Also, we took a cab to the Met/ Central Park, walked to Bryant Park in the evening to see the Winter Village, and walked to Broadway for our show. Great weekend! Thank you!!!!!

If youre looking for a hotel that is convenient to the theater district and where the staff will make you feel like family, then this is the property you need to book! The staff is very stable (very little turnover at least at the front desk) in the years weve been staying here--usually twice a year. They really walk the walk of service and would truly do anything they could to make your stay enjoyable. But the rest of the staff is equally accommodating, helpful, and friendly. Rooms are clean and well maintained. You need a key to access the elevator for upper floors. Each room has a mini-fridge and coffeemaker and beds are extremely comfortable.

This hotel is in a great location near times square, but on a quieter street. Staff was courteous and helpful. Room was clean. We asked for a room with a view at check-in and the front desk staff member was able to accommodate us. The concierge was helpful. Lobby snacks and drinks were expensive, but thats to be expected. There was delicious fruit-infused water in the lobby, which was a welcome treat after walking around the city all day. The restaurant and bar could have had better hours (night). Only complaints were that the room window was dirty (25th floor). Again, not unexpected. The pillows were way too soft, but thats it. The new lobby was modern and clean. Short walk to subway, Bryant Park, library, bus to airport, etc. A 4 long block (avenues) walk to Grand Central Station; very doable with a rolling suitcase.

My family and I enjoyed our weekend stay! Traveling in the city with a toddler was stressful on its own, the staff was so helpful in guiding us on which trains to take and routes to go. Jason and Paul, thanks for all your help with our bags! Gave us peace of mind. Location was convenient to all things great in NYC and quiet for being so close to Time Square. Definitely recommend.

Stayed here overnight for a Valentine’s Day getaway. Room is cozy, no frills. Could use a bit of updating as the furniture is showing signs of wear. The room was a little noisy, but it was mostly humming from an adjoining building. That building also had all its lights on and the curtain in the room left a gap that reflected off the mirror and lit up the room. The lobby was nice and the customer service was excellent. The elevator was a little scary, very noisy and shaky. Overall it’s good for a night or two of you plan to mostly use the room just for sleep.

I stayed at the Courtyard Marriott Times Square over Thanksgiving 2019. The staff was extremely courteous and helpful. Received smiles every day. Although the Courtyard is not a hotel with full amenities, the cafe does have starbucks and the fitness center (although small) had newer equipment and was fine for a good workout. The hotel is extremely convenient to everything. All train lines and Times Square. Great location. All Marriott beds are comfortable. There was one day that one elevator was broken but it was fixed within a couple of hours. The only complaint are the TV options. Only basic. There should be an option for purchase of movies or a Netflix option. Otherwise a great stay.

I stayed at the Courtyard New York Manhattan/Times Square for one night during my trip to NYC around Christmas. The staff was very friendly and accommodating even with how busy they were. I had a smooth check in/check out process, my room was ready earlier than I expected and it was very clean and the bed was comfy! The hotel was in walking distance from a lot of main attractions such as Times Square and Bryant Park. I also thought the price was very affordable for the location and time of year that I was visiting. I would recommend this hotel for anyone and would stay again.

We (along with 55 family members!) stayed at the Courtyard while in NYC for our sons wedding. We couldnt have been happier with our experience. The staff from reception, to doormen, concierge, bartenders, & housekeeping were friendly, efficient, professional and extremely helpful. Our rooms were clean and comfortable, the location was perfect. The small eatery (Nosh) at lobby level was handy for quick, morning coffee and breakfasts and we enjoyed the small lounge areas within Nosh for casual meet-ups and drinks in the late afternoon/evening. The bartender went out of his way to pop up several batches of popcorn for us one evening! Walkable distance to most of the venues and attractions we visited. We were greeted by name throughout the weekend, and the staff bent over backward to accomodate our needs. Cant wait to return to the city and will definitely stay here again.

Hotel is in an excellent location, close to all the shows and attractions! Room was clean, bed was comfortable and nice linens. Very reasonable rate for location. Currently hotel is under renovation/construction. Lobby needs some updating, furniture looked a little worn. Front desk staff was friendly. Our view wasnt the best on the second floor, we looked out onto the air conditioners but we werent in our room except to sleep. I am particular about cleanliness and our room passed my inspection. Plenty of towels and hot water and nice linens/pillows. Rooms had refrigerator and coffee maker. Our room did not have an alarm clock??. Cute park (Bryant park) with restaurants and shops close by. Also a small store right outside the hotel to buy waters, food for breakfast, snacks etc for your room. Enter subway steps away. Great location. Would stay here again.

Despite a friendly staff and decent location near to Times Square, the hotel lacked any ambiance due to ongoing construction in the main lobby area. They offer valet services for your vehicle which is nice and comparable to self parking rates in the area. The room was on the small side with a sliding door to the bathroom in place of a traditional door, this can have an affect on privacy concerns. The workout gym was really small with only some free weights treadmills and the site lacks an indoor swimming pool which was a disappointment. There is no classic restaurant or bar on site either, more of just an extension of the lobby with no real ambiance either. There are other Marriotts in the area that may offer a more lively atmosphere.

Room and bathroom was very small. The room faced 39th st (I believe) and there was a garbage truck there every morning at 5AM for a few hours continually banging. Restaurant was small with few options. The room had no ability to cool itself in the winter and it was very warm. The only way you could cool it down was to open the window and that made the garbage truck even noisier

Fantastic location. Easily walkable to most sites and subway close by too when needed. Very helpful staff. Rooms were clean if a bit dated especially the bathrooms. Beds weren’t the most comfortable. Fast free Wi-fi. Breakfast was distinctly average and the amount of plastic used (and not recycled) was scandalous. We stayed 5 nights and the bedsheets weren’t changed once. The number of towels offered for a family of 4 also randomly changed day to day! However overall very pleased and would recommend.

Jason made sure all guest were taken care of, even when multiple guest were leaving at the same time. Jason gave a new meaning to the word multi-task (with a smile) !!! Angel was excellent in orchestrating travel to Cedar Knolls, New Jersey. Not only did Angel gather information, he took it a step further and provided a price comparison to ensure I was getting the best service and cost for the day. This type of efficiency is needed at all times (especially for business travelers). One could only describe this odour as old. The bedsheets and blankets smelled as if they werent dried properly--a combination of mildew and bleach. The area of the bed underneath the pillows smelled horrible as well, as if a bunch of oils from scalps had accumulated there over the years and had not been washed. Would’ve given a 4star rating because my experience at this hotel was good. The front desk staff was very helpful, especially the Night desk person Paul. My complaint is with the housekeeping staff....she threw out my souvenir from the Yankees ball game! I was in NYC specifically to watch the Yankees in memory of Dan, who’s one wish was to watch his Yanks. He was killed last year, so I watched the game for him. I had bought a Yankee Pinstripe beer from the vendor and planned to keep the can as a memory of the game. I left it next to the phone never thinking that it would get tossed. I am absolutely heartbroken that my one memory from the game is GONE! So for that reason the hotel gets only a 2. The experience put a damper on my NY visit.

The staff was very friendly, courteous and polite, and definitely made you feel welcome. The hotel itself is certainly nothing upscale, in fact, perhaps a little rundown compared to most Courtyards. The entrance from the street is nice, though the lobby, seating areas, and quasi-restaurant were certainly dated and not stylish in the slightest. The rooms werent too bad. Average size and especially for New York --I was expecting smaller. The decor was just blah, though more importantly the bed and bedding was pretty decent --not quite a Renaissance, but a nice Courtyard. The rooms were clean, though the halls and room had a musty old odor --though that certainly just could be the old building.Id stay here again, though will likely look for another location on next visit. The room prices were somewhat cheap for Manhattan, but Id expect more from Marriott especially for $500 a night...

We understand that at times system can be down, but the property manager was just not listening to us and told us to find another hotel with them doing full refund. I had better luck for breakfast buying a box of cereal, some milk and disposable bowls and spoons at the convenience store on the corner and having that for breakfast. While I was trying to sleep I found that the noise from loud people in the hallway by the elevator was annoying. We ended up going down the stairs from the 12th floor with our luggage and were locked out when we got to street level. They told us we took the wrong stairwell. Sorry I missed that at the hotel orientation that we didn’t get. Common areas not air conditioned. Not a bad place at all but needs some work.

These rooms compared to other rooms in NYC were very roomy and modern. The staff was very helpful and actually friendly. This is in a great location and within walking distance of Time Square and Broadway! And was very reasonably priced for the location! We couldnt get the a/c to work, so we just opened the window. Bedspread was a bit dirty the first night but was changed the next morning. We didnt report the problems, just made adjustments. We would gladly stay there again!

We have stayed here at least 30 times. The staff, including Karen Simmons, Jason, and others are great. We had a minor issue with the heat in our room and the building engineer, Anthony, took care of the problem right away to our satisfaction

The hotel is conveniently located near times square, BUT the air conditioning cannot keep up. The common areas were in the upper 80s to low 90s, and Id be surprised if my room every got down to 75. There are much better options.

This hotel offers everything a traveler could ask for. It is conveniently located to Times Square and the subway 7 train. The hotel itself offers food and drink service. The staff were friendly and the hotel was clean. This is our second or third stay at this hotel in the last several years and it hasn’t disappointed us. We will stay here again.

We came to check in for our reservation only to find the hotel had a flood. The hotel sent us to another hotel for the night. The hotel they were sending us to was 6 or 7 blocks away and we had 3 rolling suitcases. We had made our reservation through Expedia so the hotel would not release our booking and allow us to stay at the other hotel for our short 4 night stay. So if those 4 nights we spent two checking in and running our luggage back and forth. To top it off the hotel they sent us to had a check out time of noon and going back to the original hotel they said 3 pm check in which meant we would have to store everything with the concierge until 3. Finally after discussions with hotel staff and being hung up on once they found us a room. Not exactly what I want to be doing when I only have 4 days in New York. As a final good bye when we were leaving we called down and asked the front desk to call us a taxi and they said that it was too early in the morning. The person that does that doesn’t come in until 6 am so they told us to walk a block and head around the corner to 6th street to catch a cab. As I said we had three rolling suitcases and had just spent two days shopping!!!! Service is not their strong point. They must have enough business that they don’t need to provide service to have loyal customers. The only reason I would recommend this hotel is for location.

First off I typically dont do reviews. But we had an awesome experience so I wanted to share. We stayed for 6 nights (4/29/17 - 5/5/17) at this property for our vacation in NYC. This was our first time in NYC and the hotel experience could have made or broken our trip. Happy to say it helped make our trip a fantastic one. The room was great! We had a double bed room on the 23rd floor. The room was a little smaller than other Marriott rooms Ive stayed in, but most all hotel rooms are small in New York. The size didnt bother us at all as we were there on vacation and we spent most of our time walking around soaking up the city. Our time in the room was spent showering and sleeping. It was clean, comfortable and the beds were wonderful. Excellent location for food, Broadway shows, and of course Times Square. So much stuff to see and do in a short walk from the hotel. Also, the hotel is close to the subway and there is a Whole Foods around the corner that we used for in room breakfast food (since we like to be a little lazy in the mornings). All staff were great, helpful and very friendly, that includes front desk, bellman, concierge and house keeping. We had an excellent experience and enjoyed our stay. It helped make our overall experience in NYC a great one!! We will definitely be back.

Staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Rooms were spacious and clean, but I found that it was the cleaning staff that were really superb. I had a bad cold while I was staying at the hotel, and recognizing this fact the cleaning staff brought me extra green teas and tissues for my room! It was that extra touch that really made me feel at home. I would definitely recommend staying at this hotel.

The location of the hotel is great. The staff was really friendly. There was a restaurant that I did not try but it looked good and the lobby always had a nice bustling feel. The fitness room was not large but had everything you would want. The room was clean, but the room window looked out into another building so there is zero natural light. I wish the in-room lighting had been a little warmer to compensate for the darkness. Otherwise, this was a fine hotel.

Upon arriving at the hotel at 1:00 in the morning, after a full day of business meetings and travel, I was told there was no room available at this property but I could WALK to another courtyard property (20 min walk away). The staff had my old loyalty number on file, so even though I am a gold member, I had no room. I ended up staying with my friend and coworker, as she had 2 double beds. The next morning, I spoke with the front desk about what sort of accommodation they could provide to us and the man at the front desk went to speak to the manager. I could hear him speaking to the manager, yet the manager did not come out in person to apologize or ensure that proper steps were taken to rectify the issue. I was upgraded to a suite the next evening, but I am still waiting for my nights and my additional points to be added to my account (my stay was over a week ago). The front desk staff was nice, but they did not treat this as an inconvenience since I was promised a room at another property in the city. They made it seem like no big deal to go to another location at 1:00 in the morning even though my friend/coworker was remaining at that location and we were traveling together. The first double room we stayed in was fine, but paint was chipping all over and the lampshades were stained. The suite was nice, but didn’t make up for the poor customer service. Super disappointed in Marriott.

This hotel is in a great location. We walked to Bryant Park, Rockefeller Center, Central Park, and more. The subway station was just up the block, so overall very convenient. The staff was friendly. Valet parking was easy. The only negative about our trip was the rooms weren’t ready at check in time.

This is a great hotel with a fabulous location. It is literally only blocks from everything you want to do in and around Times Square including shows and shopping. There is also a nice pharmacy right next door that has everything you could possibly need. The rooms are nice size by NYC standards and the bedding is so comfortable. We normally stay at 5 star hotels when we travel but we were with my daughters ballet company for Project Dance and we were pleasantly surprised by this hotel. I would highly recommend and would stay there again as well. The staff was very nice and friendly. The subway stations are also very close to this hotel which makes traveling around the city easy. Lots of great restaurants close by as well.

Okay stay that was close to a lot of attractions. The rooms was okay but we did question the cleanliness of the bathrooms. Overall it was an okay stay could have been better if the young male worker wasn’t too lazy to check my reservation and allow us to check in early like the other 10 people who came in after me and my daughter.

This hotel is in a great location. The entrance is beautiful with the water flowing wall. The hotel lobby was nice and refreshingly cool. It was a very hot day when we were in the City. The hotel staff was very friendly as well. I wasnt crazy about the shower design. It was a half piece of glass and water got everywhere when you showered (but not too big of a deal). I liked that my room window opened for some fresh air. I also like that there was a mini fridge in the room. It did get noisy at night and we were on the 17th floor. This hotel was reasonably priced and I would definitely stay here again.

The Marriott Courtyard is a perfect quiet respite in the middle of Time Square. The staff is exceptional, and the rooms are clean and comfortable. Great price point for the location- which is beyond compare for visitors who want to be in the center of the city.

Very good location, central with slightly off the main beat so quiet as well. Room is clean with lots of extra touch such as extra power points for all those chargers we all seems to acquire without needing to unplug something else. Room is compact but the layout & storage are very well thought out. Firm bed and good pillows. Enter your name & room to connect to the hotel internet for free, this needs to be revalidated every couple of days, otherwise we have no issue with it. Would like to see some newspaper in the lobby, we were unable to sleep due to the time difference for a few days and it would be nice to have something local to read to pass the time.

Had a recent opportunity to stay at the Marriott Courtyard New York Manhattan/Times Square during a business trip and I should mention that staying at a Marriott/Starwood property is my usual preference. I was very impressed with the easy checking in, the with the courteous and very helpful staff. I felt welcomed and appreciated! To my surprise, the room was very clean, somewhat modern and overall well maintained. Very good accommodations. The location is awesome - within a couple of blocks of Times Square - Highly recommended.
