Pretty good location, near Grand Central and a lot of food. About 10-15min walk to K-town. Stayed for 5 nights and the service has been pretty good. Quick service when we called for the plumber. House cleaning staff has been very helpful too. Not much of a view but not a bad value for a long weekend stay.

Location was great , however My room was the worst . I was scared to take a shower there. It has mold , cracks on the roof and on the walls , stains on the wallls , the most nasty and old sink I seen in my life . The bed to me was comfortable however sheet had stains . My room was dark as night all day . Room 705 just don’t stay in the lower floors! The people who stay on numbers 20 and above had newer rooms with a lot of natural light and a great view .

Air conditioning worked great and the shower had great water pressure and got very hot. All of the staff was super nice and helpful. There is an unlimited gourmet coffee machine on the second floor of the lobby. Great location!!

Excellent service from front desk, housekeeping and bell staff! I received early checkin, and took advantage of some blissful air conditioning in my spotless room. (And I’ve done hotel inspections, so I know a clean room!)We had to leave our bags with the bellman the next morning, and he was the perfect mix of friendly and professional. There was some construction noise outside (no avoiding it in NY) but no sound from the room next to or above me. Nice view of a branch of the NYPL from my room on the 9th floor.Coffee and tea on the mezzanine got us out the door for the day. And the location was perfect for tourists or midtown business. (And getting to the US Open!) Highly recommend.

I would give it 2 stars only but the third on is for the location. Its more practical because of the location, I have to admit it. However, the building is very old and should be renewed. You can feel how old is the building from its smell. I stayed there for 10 night back in 2012. I was there in a business trip.

Nice cozy place to stay in a congested place like Newyork.Staffs were very well mannered. But management is not strict enough to enforce Covid rules, like telling people not to crowd the elevator more than two or to wear mask. Even I found the very polite gentleman working at the reception in evening hours is not wearing any mask while interacting with others. This kind of carelessness is one of the major reason of spreading this virus.

I stayed in a 2 queen bed (for three adults) on the 22nd floor. I had a corner room. The room was relatively quiet, reasonably modern (smart TV, etc), and clean. However, it is small for three adults (and in line with most NYC hotel rooms). The hotel is just across from the public library of 40th and 5th, an excellent and very central location. There is a health club, albeit small, but 2-3 people can work out at the same time (there is one treadmill and one stationary bike, and free weights). Coffee and tea is available in a common area, but there are no other amenities (e.g. an on-site restaurant) for example. There is also a small business centre near the coffee/tea and gym. The staff was excellent across the board - very helpful and friendly. WiFi works fine, a prerequisite today of course. The value was outstanding, although I recognise this is related to the market for NYC hotel rooms for the first week in January. I would highly recommend this hotel for someone that plans to spend most of their time outside of the room, and does not need a full-service lobby, etc. Everything is, after all, available at your fingertips since this is NYC.

Frank and arks my car and makes it so easy for me to just give it to him and go about my business. We began our stay with Courtyard Fifth Avenue by finding a hairbrush in the top of the bedding on our bed that was not ours. Lets just say that didnt leave a good impression for us about your cleanliness or expectations. We went on from there having the concierge, Frank, when we asked him to save a jacket for us because we had come down with it and then realized that it was too warm to be of use say to us, You want me to check this for you because you dont want to take it back up to your room? Yeah Frank. Thats kind if your job. Throughout the trip things continually fell apart -- the front door on one side or the other was consistently not working, the room was not cleaned on one occasion (not including the one that we told her not to bother because we really arent high-maintenance and dont need for someone to put new sheets on our bed every day). We found out from the cab driver that our trip would have been less expensive but the hotel/concierge (he didnt say which) adds a gratuity onto the top of the charge that we expend for THEMSELVES? Sorry - in Texas if you EARN a tip you GET a tip. If you just make a phone call or recommend something then getting a gratuity is at the whim of the guest you are serving. Pedro and Willie were both VERY nice, helpful and while they may have been on their personal phones they always took the time to open the door for us and greet us -- Frank never did (check your tapes of the lobby while he works and see how many hours he spends on his personal business rather than Courtyards). I own three businesses and I know how difficult it is to get good help. The front-desk woman from Greece (sorry, I forgot her name) was also very helpful. I did wonder why I was sent around the corner to Esses (sp??) to get a soda when there was Jacks right across the intersection but now I guess that there are buddy deals throughout the Manhattan area? I dont know how to help you correct these situations but they definitely colored my view of Courtyard.

The location of this hotel is excellent as it is near the theatre district and near several train lines, so its easy to get around Manhattan. But more importantly, although the staff is small, they are competent and welcoming. We were here over Christmas, a chaotic time at any hotel, but they took care of answering all my questions (which were many as it was my first stay at this particular hotel). I would not hesitate to book this hotel again.

The title says it all. You can stay right in the middle of things, the staff is friendly, the rooms are clean and comfortable. There is free coffee and tea 24/7, a Starbucks downstairs and anything else you need (drugstore, restaurants) are an easy 3-8 minute leisurely walk. Well, that was about as far as we needed to walk anyway. A view to speak of? Not from most rooms, but get outside and walk and of course taxis are on 5th Ave. to grab inusually less than a minute. We had a great stay.

Stay was good but wasn’t up to Marriott standard. Great location but you can tell that the brand solely relies on this because the customer service and hotel cleanliness is lacking. Front desk staff wasn’t friendly and held conversations amongst themselves during my check-in (I wasn’t greeted upon entering and I don’t remember eye contact being made). I’m a gold member and asked if it was possible to upgrade my room to a king and was told it was not due to the property being full. That’s fine, but I later overheard the reception desk upgrading a room for another guy while stating, “it’s our pleasure to upgrade your room since we have the availability.” Maybe the guy has a higher status than me, I just found it to be weird. Other turnoffs were a dirty elevator and less than modern/small room. One positive aspect was the self serve/unlimited coffee machine on the mezzanine level.

Everyone was as to be expected. The lobby is pretty small and non-descript, but I already knew this from previous stays. It is not an issue as the price is good. The rooms are clean if cosy and the beds are comfortable. The staff is pleasant. The problem I had this time was that there was very loud construction on the building across the street all night long. So, if you are a light sleeper, you may want to check in advance if construction is still in progress. Or, see if there is a room on another side of the building that is quieter.

DO NOT VALET. It took over 1 hour and 40 minutes to get our car from valet. The hotel staff seemed concerned but it didn’t help to make anything happen. There were customers behind us in the valet line that got their car first because they were more boisterous about their frustrations. Very disappointing. We did get a refund for the parking, which was appropriate. Otherwise...The hotel room was small, but nice and clean. Check-in was easy and we were able to check-in early, which we appreciated.

Our stay at the hotel was overall great. We went with three small children for a quick trip during our Spring Break. I was a rewards member and used my points for this stay. They accommodated my setting options of extra towels, extra pillows, and a floor in the middle of the building choices. I appreciated those items met! I also needed a fridge, which these hotel rooms dont offer. I was quickly given one to my room, which met our needs for the kids. I was a nursing mother of a baby, so it met my needs of putting bottles in it. The rooms were comfortable and clean and the kids enjoyed their stay here. It was also out of the way of the busy hustle bustle but close enough that we could turn a corner and be right where we needed to be for the kids. All of their stores (American Girl, Nike, FAO) were walks that were doable from our location. H&M too was super close, which we liked as well! There was a Star Bucks next to us, which the kids enjoyed going to for breakfast- as they offered sandwiches, muffins etc with quick service even though it was very busy. We would stay at this location again!

Best location in busy Midtown Manhattan, right across from the gorgeous historic NYC Library, and about 500 ft away from Bryant Park. Very clean, functional hotel. Stayed a whole week. Everything about this hotel was excellent - the staff, the room, the location. If there are any negatives it would be this is not a trendy/experiential hotel, so if youre going for that, this may not be your choice. The second negative is a bit of nightime noise from outside making its way somehow through the large windows, but this is probably typically of anywhere in Midtown. The street is a bit quieter street though, so couldve been worse I suppose. Our room was on the 23rd floor, perfect because the ice machines were on the 5th and 25th. Nice view of highrises to south.

Amazing location. However I’ve only marked this as a 4 because of the sheer lack of amenities and the huge cost of the stay. 3 nights with city and state tax (which you are not told about until you check out) cost $1381. Very disappointed, I would not recommend. The hotel was fine, but the parking company that they use for valet parking dinged my car and refuses to take responsibility. The hotel says it is not their problem, even though it was their valet that took the car. Not only did parking cost an arm and a leg, but they caused $2,500 worth of damage. To bring a small claims court you have to appear in person. They are way to slimy!

Without that, our overall rating would be a 1.The room was small, dark, unattractive, and not up to my expectations for marriott properties. Even though it is NYC, the rooms could have been made cheerful with bright lights. The lights were inadequate for using the full length mirror and made reading uncomfortable. The toiletries were not pleasant. Some were shared pump bottles with astringent and unpleasant scents. Even my husband commented about them. We had also expected a fitness center, but we were told it was under renovation and we could use a fitness club a long block away - not ideal. So our experience was very disappointing. You will definitely hear new york from outside your windows. They do have a nice free coffee bar, a very small business center, and small workout room. And a starbucks is literally next door. There is basically no place to sit and relax in the lobby.

The Courtyard New York Manhattan/Fifth Avenue provided me and my family with wonderful accommodations in the heart of the city making it easy to visit many landmarks due to its central location. The location and the price of pre purchasing our stay was what made us choose this location and we were very happy we did choose this location after the wonderful experience we had. The staff made us feel at home and really took the time to get to know us while ensuring our needs were met including arranging our transportation and giving us wonderful advice to enhance our trip. The hotel rooms were modern and updated but very comfortable. Having a Starbucks just outside of the lobby was a definite plus! All the public areas were as clean and well decorated as the rooms. We loved the security of needing a key to gain access in the late evenings and to reach your floor throughout your stay, it made us feel very safe. The coffee, hot chocolate and tea bar in the 2nd level was a stop each evening for us so we could have some hot tea or hot chocolate to warm up before bed and feel even more at home. We had a fantastic vacation and plan to return, likely in the next six months.

The rooms are clean and in good order. The bathrooms are spacious. It would have been nice for the room to have a small fridge, but otherwise had nice amenities, and the ice machine just down the hall was nice. The hotel is only a five minute walk to Bryant Park, a 10 minute walk from Times Square, and conveniently located near the subway. The hotel staff are friendly and prompt, and the valet service is efficient.

Wonderful stay at the Courtyard NY Manhattan/5th Avenue hotel! The hotel service staff was wonderful - very helpful, pleasant, and proactive. We had several extra requests (e.g., fridge in one of the rooms) and the staff accommodated all of these immediately and with a smile! The hotel is conveniently located - very near the subway and with plenty of nearby attractions for you to walk to. The free Starbucks coffee/hot choco machine was a great treat! Definitely will come back to this hotel ... theyre great at making you feel at home! Thank you for making my and my familys spring visit a great one!

My family stayed here over Thanksgiving. Its a great location and the staff was helpful and pleasant. We would definitely stay here again if we want to be in and around Midtown. The location of the hotel is great because it is a stones throw from Bryant Park/ the New York Public Library. This makes it convenient to the 7 as well as the B, D, F and M trains. It is also easy walking distance to Times Square (for more trains) as well as Grand Central Station. This Courtyard location doesnt have a restaurant/ serve food or room service, but there is a Starbucks conveniently located next door (literally attached to the hotel), if you need food or drinks during your stay. This is my second time staying at this Courtyard by Marriott. I recommend it for anyone that needs to be around Bryant Park (E.g. visiting Salesforce or Bank of America) during their trip to NYC.

We recently visited NYC for a very short one night stay. Having frequented NYC and often utilizing the larger Marriott Hotels, we needed something quick, convenient and cheap. We found a great rate the night before our visit on the Marriott website. The Courtyard New York Manhattan was easy to get to traveling by car and offered valet parking for a fee. We arrived late night and the staff was very kind and helpful. The parking attendants took care of my car knowing I would need again in the early morning. Our room was recently renovated, clean and stylish. We didnt have much of a view (an old building being renovated, but we werent there to sightsee.) The lobby was small, but they had some flyers and such and were helpful in directing other tourist as to where to visit even though we didnt utilize that service. They offered us complimentary coffee and tea when we arrived, but we didnt take them up in. Still a nice touch. We were in close walking distance to Times Square and in the morning found Starbucks nearby for a quick coffee. The staff had my car ready when it was needed and even helped me to pull out of a tight space! It was prefect for our quick trip and I would certainly visit again when I take my young boys to sightsee. I liked that it was just a little away from the more touristy areas and that it was a small hotel. I prefer the 3rd floor to the 33rd anyway! It was a great find and I look forward to returning.

Stayed the weekend of November 2018 with a family of 4. The two queen beds were the reason we chose this hotel and they were very comfortable. Convenient location to Broadway shows and the Lincoln tunnel. The hotel was very clean and the staff was accommodating. We will be back.

We stayed at this hotel in the past and chose it again based on prior positive experience. We planned on staying about a week and reached out to the hotel to require a quiet room. The hotel staff was extremely accommodating before and during our stay. Before arriving we had some questions and addressed the General Manager who answered in detail displaying ‘first class Marriott customer service’. This hotel is perfect situated in Midtown, best value for the money, spotless rooms and great customer service. Highly recommended.
