I have rented from Dearman Properties for the past year and the staff is great! They respond to issues I have in a timely manner. Even when I lost my job (while on maturity leave from having a baby, they work with me-and I been unemployed for the past 5 months. Just now finding employment this past 4 weeks. The staff is friendly! I feel like they are my extended family. The maintenance staff is friendly as well, I know most of them by name.

Do not rent from these people, they charged me and the whole complex $75 because they couldn’t figure out who in the complex clogged the sewage. They also took 4 months to give me back my deposit, which was only half of what I deposited. They gave me the run around for 4 months. Dearman properties and there whole staff is real unprofessional and will bully you if any problem arises. And I wish they would respond to this review trying to make it seem as if they didn’t do anything wrong, I have pictures and email proof of every transactions of their wrong doings. Below is a picture of the email they sent out clearly stating they don’t know who clogged the sewage, but is gonna charge everyone anyways. I also have pictures of requests of maintenance but for 3 weeks no one replied too.

It’s a mess. I have had a request to have my air fixed since November, it is March. I’ve put in 2 request since January. It was cool outside during those months lately it’s been warm. They won’t communicate with me as to why I can’t get it serviced. I hope they see this because the next step is a HUD report. Not saying don’t live here but don’t come with high expectations.

I have waste sewage in my yard for 3 months and they have yet to come see or fix it.Edit- issue was fixed. A lot of mis-communication. They were nice at the front desk and let me know why it took so long to resolve.

SLUM LORDS!! The entire management team is an absolute joke, they’re untimely with any repairs or maintenance, staff is allowed to harass tenants with no reprimand, neighbors are inconsiderate, I can’t stress enough that this is a terrible place to live. If you’re a terrible tenant, then I highly recommend them!Mildew and mold growing in nearly every unit. Water leaks from the ceiling, still hasn’t been fixed. Stove was out for weeks before they repaired it. Air was out for weeks before they repaired it. Dryer has been out for two weeks and counting, still no repair. Asking them to do their job is like asking them to perform miracles, they just can’t do it. Any attempts to hold them accountable through the court system results in an eviction notice and court dates, where they will lie and cheat to try to win possession of your belongings in the unit. Do yourselves a favor and don’t rent ANYTHING from slum lord David dearman and his team of imbeciles.

I am writing to inform you of the unprofessional service in which I received at this office.I was informed that there was an apartment available so I paid my deposit and application fee in the beginning of May of 2021.I was informed that I would have the apartment on the 1st of June, but I repeatedly had to call as well as email.I constantly received emails stating that my first month rent was due which was accumulating late charges.I believe in great customer service, but I did not receive that here.No one ever got in contact with me regarding signing a lease or move in.Today is the 10th of June in I still did not hear from anyone.I constantly received excuses after excuses when I called or emailed.I paid my deposit and application fee because I was promised an apartment but the individuals at the front told me that I could not get my application fee back.I was informed by the individual that the CEO’s name was Mr.Turner for this company.They were not polite and refused to give me the CEO,Mr.Turner’s phone number.I asked for an email in one individual provided me with the incorrect email.The error that I received after sending the email was “the message has been blocked to sender”.Customer service is HORRIBLE in the company is a scam.Ms.Nikki,one of the manager’s became very rude once I requested for my refund.I requested for the deposit and application fee refund due to the negligence on the company’s behalf.Poor,poor customer service.

DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY! MUST READ- I contacted Dearmons property in March looking for a place to live. The receptionist named Morgan gave me the run around for 3 months saying that the apartment wasnt ready & it had to be cleaned. Fast forward, move in to find that the apartment had not been cleaned or finished being painted. The refrigerator wasnt even cleaned out. I contacted the Dearmons about this issue. They said the would get someone to fix it. Ive been in this townhome for 4 months now & NO ONE has come to fix anything at all. This was the icing on the cake, I had a water leak that they claimed that they would the care of. My water bill was 120$ for the month of July & August & I am the ONLY one occupying this townhome so you know that in itself is bizarre. I contacted Morgan at Dearmons she claimed that they would take care of the issue or take care of my bill. All I had to do is fax over my bill. So I did that. Two weeks later my water was disconnected, you know why? Because they didnt pay for it. I called them immediately, they never got back with me. The property manager stated that she didnt know who I spoke with but they dont pay water bills. I express to her about the lies that were told to me. She didnt care. She said she needed the rent & if not I would be taken to court. I even went to try to talk to them in person & they threatened to call the police because I was holding them responsible for their actions. DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY. I will be going to court because as of this day none of my issues have been fulfilled since day one. This has to ustop somewhere & it starts with me.

Great staff, efficient housing surrounded by decent tenants. When there is an issue, it is resolved professionally, directly and in a timely manner. They are steadily renovating and the visions are becoming a reality. If you have any questions, the ladies in the office will happily get you an answer. Convenient location, clean properties (some under renovation...keep in mind), and friendly attitudes.

If I could leave NO stars I would! They have their own tenants cars towed, charge outlandish fees for NOTHING, and worst but MOST IMPORTANT try to retaliate on tenants for leave a TRUE review! They need to be sued!

I have lived in Heritage apartments for over a year now. I love it! All of the tenants are the nicest neighbors! The pool is always clean, and it is quiet. The location could not be better, especially if you are in school. Its one block away from The University of Southern Mississippi. Its also only one block away from the new Midtown Market area. You now have tacos, pizza, Greek food, Asian, southern comfort food, sweets, hibachi, fast food etc. You are basically in the middle of everything. $600.00 a month for a 2 bedroom(in an awesome location) with hard wood floors and granite counter tops...Could not find a better apartment!!! Well be here for a while!!!

Overpriced even before they raised my rent $30! Way too expensive for an old, run-down, tiny apartment with no security and an office staff that can’t even be bothered to pick up the phone half the time. I will never rent from Dearman again and discourage others from doing so.

I love living here,i never had a problem,great staff,the staff is ths most wonderful people you can ever meet.They have help me when i got laid off workThey work with me ,plus nice pool,yard kept great,anytime something went wrong in the apartment they fixed it.also you next door to midtown food n ect. You want go wrong living here,Thanks Dearman for everything.

Lady by the name of Cindy was very rude to me and my client!! All we were wanting to get was a letter confirming pay off on her car and all hell broke a lose!! She slammed the door in my face as I attempted to enter the office with my client. Then basically put us out in a aggressive manner. Thank shod for the two sweet young lady’s up front.

My husband and I LOVE the renovations. Its one of the things that drew us to these apartments. However, the management is subpar: condescending emails, attempting to change prices mid-lease, and ignoring important maintenance requests like leaks, mold, and appliances. This place is affordable for a reason I guess.
