The move in process was so simple and smooth. Be sure to complete all online move in surveys & google forms prior to arriving to move in to make the process go even smoother! The clubhouse staff is nothing short of delightful and the Sunchase facilities are amazing! Everything is clean, aesthetically pleasing, and very nice!

I lived at Sunchase for 2 years and had a great experience. The maintenance was always quick to arrive and the staff was always friendly and helpful. I had a few mix ups happen during move out, but Hannah (the property manager) worked with me and figured everything out very quickly. I would highly recommend Sunchase to anyone!

This has been the best place to live. The service has been amazing. In three years we have only had to make one maintenance request and it was easy and fast. The office staff are nice, friendly, and helpful.

Sunchase has been the best experience of my life! The individuals who live here are so friendly and outgoing! The leasing staff is amazing, theyre always here to help, even on the weekends! The maintenance team is also amazing! They respond to maintenance requests promptly and are always willing to help! They even carry around treats for the sunchase dogs!The rooms are a good size and the apartments even come furnished with stylish, modern furniture and the mattresses they provide are very comfortable!They are always having events and give aways for the residents and I think that it is so cool that I can get a massage one day, get free tacos the next, and enter into drawings for things like air-pods! It is super cool how they are constantly trying to do things to keep everyone engaged.I feel safe when I am at Sunchase and enjoy the friendly community atmosphere created by the residents and the staff.I have also had the pleasure to work at Sunchase and being able to interact with residents from a professional and personal stand point, its easy to say that Sunchase is definitely the best place to live in Harrisonburg!

I love living at Sunchase! The Sunchase staff and maintenance team are so helpful! It is a great price for the quality of apartment! I am a sophomore and plan on staying at Sunchase until I graduate! The Sunchase staff is amazing and sometimes they have small events such as free ice-cream and Bojangles! Sunchase is located across the street from the Arboretum and makes it a quick walk to East Campus. The bus also comes to Sunchase directly from campus so I did not have to buy a parking pass! I absolutely love living at Sunchase and would highly recommend!

I’m a sophomore in college and it is my first semester living at Sunchase. It was the best decision I made. It was a last minute choice to live with my roommates, but it’s the perfect space for all 4 of us. The apartment is big enough to hold all of us and has all the needs a college student really needs. If we have a problem, maintenance is always quick and ready to fix them. 100% recommend.

The staff and communication here is very helpful! At first I was worried that everything was going to be a headache but things went well. There was one bump on my part but it was super easy to fix especially with the help of Brooke K. If you ever have any problems definitely reach out to them!

Sunchase is a great place to live as a college student going to JMU and even offers a bus that comes back and forth from East Campus to Sunchase. I have lived at Sunchase for 2 years now and I havent had any issues. Newer appliances, nice floor plans (I have the Dolly), spacious rooms and everyone gets their own bathroom. My favorite part of the apartment is the balcony, I have grown flowers and plants and a bird feeder to make things feel like home. Sunchase also has a beautiful pool, 24 hour gym, pet friendly with a very nice fenced in dog park, and beautiful clubhouse with free printing, computers, ping pong table and more. Maintenance crew has been wonderful (they are all amazing and friendly) and timely with things that need to be fixed (24 hour emergency maintenance on stand-by). My base rent for my floor plan is $530 a month plus electric. Overall Sunchase has been a wonderful place to live and I recommend Sunchase to anyone who is looking to lease an apartment around Harrisonburg. Go Dukes!

Let me paint you a picture of how Sunchase at James Madison has THE BEST customer service:Apart from being a junior at James Madison this upcoming year, I have been super excited to move into Sunchase with three of my closest friends and to further train at a local rescue squad. A week before my move-in date, an opportunity to take an Emergency Vehicle course was offered to me to help further my skills. However, this mandatory course conflicted with my move-in date and time as my course was offered from 9:00am - 6:00pm, and the window to pick up keys was offered from 12:00pm - 3:30pm. I was nervous that I would have to wait until to days following my intended move-in date in order to pick up my keys.I decided to call Sunchase and explain them my situation to see if we could troubleshoot and find a solution. Tom T, the marketing operations manager, listened to my whole situation and was so understanding. He immediately asked the property manager to see if there was anything that they could do for me. The Sunchase staff made a plan to send me documents for my new apartment via email and to give me the code to my keys in a lockbox outside of my front door.I have never been someone to write a Google review before, but this little act of kindness MADE MY DAY! All throughout the day, I kept on telling my family about how excited to stay in such a nice, safe, and accommodating community. Thank you Sunchase staff, and especially Tom T., you all are SUPERSTARS!

I’ve lived at Sunchase for two years and have no complaints. The maintenance men are amazing. (Seriously, I put in a request at 3am and they were there at 10am!!) The ladies in the office are well trained, kind, and helpful. The pool is a great hangout spot because there are plenty of chairs and even a fire pit. Sunchase has definitely become a second home.

I’ve lived in Sunchase for the past three years while attending JMU. I have a furnished apartment with high quality appliances and furniture. Each apartment has a private bathroom, which is super convenient. We love visiting the pool and utilizing the benefits at the clubhouse, like free printing, gym, tanning, snacks, and study space. There’s always fun things happening at the clubhouse too, including games, free food, prizes, etc. Maintenance services are probably the best I’ve heard of in the JMU area, they’re very prompt to help, have completely replaced anything we need at no cost, and extremely friendly, which I hear isn’t the case at most places. Overall, my roommates and I love sunchase and I definitely recommend to anyone!

I have a lot of experience with apartments and school. Now this is during covid but here is my impressions so far and why it doesnt get 5 stars. The apartment is very secure and safe. It is also clean and the front office is helpful. This is covid so the pool/ BBQ i havent really used. The gym could be a bit bigger but at least we have one. It is a solid apartment that I love. A few reasons why is falls short is I cant upgrade my internet, I wish the rooms were a bit bigger and I got a queen bed but overall not bad and sometimes it is too quiet to be honest... I know sunchase isnt a party apartment but some background noise on the weekends would be fun. Maybe this is because of covid but who knows. I wish I knew more people who lived here.

Busy weekend looking at off-campus housing with family. Stopped in at Sunchase and was greeted by Alex. She was a wealth of information answering every question I threw at her. Took us on a tour of the newly remodeled club house, gym and model. Could not have been happier with my experience and as our JMU freshman said this is the place. The property was clean and well maintained and within walking distance of JMU and U-Park. Coudnt ask for much more!

My JMU student lived here for one year and was very happy. As a parent, I was beyond happy. All office staff were professional, well trained and kind each time I called with a question. Never once was there the oh, its her calling again attitude. From help setting up auto rent payments, to move our procedures, the Suncase team excelled. Kudos to all that work here. Our daughter lived at Sunchase for two years and we hate to see her leave. This apartment complex is WONDERFUL!!! The rent is reasonable (includes water, internet and cable), the amenities (pool, clubhouse, study areas) are great, fun planned events, quick to resolve maintenance issues, helpful notifications, and centrally located to school, restaurants, hotels and stores. But what we found to be the most important aspect was the superb staff. They were ALWAYS so very helpful with any questions or assistance. You won’t go wrong with living at Sunchase!

Sunchase is such a welcoming and accepting environment! They are accommodating and always come to fill out our requests. The clubhouse is easily accessible and the employees are friendly! The space within the clubhouse is useful and a great escape from your home if you dont feel like driving to campus. When you have a maintenance problem, someone comes almost immediately to help. Furthermore, the apartment is affordable and spacious! Every roommate gets their own bathroom which is bigger than most apartments offer. I highly recommend Sunchase to anyone that is looking for somewhere to sign!

One day, my dog Moe escaped. For several hours the maintenance team and front office staff searched for him and even posted on social media to find him. Although he came back on his own terms, the Sunchase staff were of much help! Theyre extremely genuine and caring.

Hey Sunchase ,All the “ample” guest parking was taken so I parked in a resident spot for 30 minutes to unload the car before moving it and it was towed. I’m getting ready to go overseas for 8 months in the Middle East and I can’t even see my girlfriend before I leave to get shot at. There’s a special place for you people.

Sunchase truly makes JMU the best place on earth, as well as the happiest. I have been living here for a few months and can honestly say that their staff is unlike any other. Their maintenance is ALWAYS on top of getting things fixed, they keep the community looking spectacular, and they are all so friendly. The staff that work at the front is always helpful and gets questions answered in a timely manner. The apartments are spacious, clean upon moving in, and they feel like home. Some say that where you live is good as long as you make it. Sunchase is good no matter what!

I lived in Sunchase apartments for 3 years. I really liked it here and will be sad to move as I am graduatingRooms: I felt like the rooms were a great size for a college student. I know many of the other off campus housing have much bigger rooms but I honestly did not see the need for a huge room. In Sunchase you have enough room for your bed, bedside table, dresser and desk (which all come with the room) and I was able to fit a minifridge and a another chair. The closets are very spacious and have room for extra storage on top and on the floor. Each resident has their own bathroom which are surprisingly very spacious. Lots of counter room. Never had a problem with any of the furniture.Kitchen/common areas: The kitchen has a lot of counter top for cooking as well. All of the appliances work well. Sunchase is one of the few apartments that have a dining table which is nice when you need it. The L shaped couch was my favorite thing. Sitting right in that corner was the best.Staff/Maitenance: the staff was always super friendly. Would answer phone calls and emails immediately and are very willing to help out with any issues. I really appreciated them. Maitenance also comes very quick after requests are sent in. I once put in a request and was shocked when they knocked on my door 5 minutes later.Ammenities: The gym is alright. It has decent weights but obviously nothing compared to UREC. But you get what you pay for. Pool is nice during the summer and well kept. (I would highly recommend to change the top small area of the pool into a hot tub). Free printing, coffee, package control. Bus system was a lifesaver for me the first 2 years when I didnt have a car. The bus goes directly from Sunchase to campus so you’re not stuck going to other complexes before you go home. they don’t tow until 10 pm which is nice when family or friends visits.DISADVANTAGES: Guest parking can be annoying on the weekends. Especially since there are many open resident spaces. My electric bill seems to ALWAYS be high (30+) when my roommates and I practically live in the dark. BIGGEST ISSUE I HAD: sunchase tends to place randoms in unfilled rooms without telling you. I happened to me and I had to practically beg for them to remove the random roommates as I had found friends to sign. They also did this to one of my friends after telling her they would lock the unused room. Instead she moved in and found a random person in the extra room. The least sunchase could do is notify a unit when/if they are going to do this.Overall, it is a great place to live if you are looking off campus and I have rarely had any issues.

I love living in Sunchase!!! I toured so many other communities before I made my decision and fell in love with this complex. The buildings, people, and community life is so great here. I knew I was at home when I signed my lease. And they are the only complex with such a welcoming atmosphere, and free drinks in the clubhouse!!!! I would recommend (and I do!) any and everyone to live here! Its been the best year of my life living here in Sunchase in many ways!

I have had a great experience with Sunchase so far. I had a few minor problems when I moved in, and there was no hesitation by the office staff to help me. They were eager to do anything they can to assist. The apartments themselves are extremely nice, and the facilities are beautiful. I love the 24 hour gym and the pool. Special thanks to Anna, for being such a great help during my entire move in process. She always made me feel welcome and comfortable in the office, and also adds a little humor to any situation. Cant wait for the rest of my time here at Sunchase!

Sunchase is a great living space for those who are living off campus for the first time. the location is perfect right between port and reservoir. they offer lots of fun activities, food, and events in the club house almost weekly. the living area is nice for what you pay for and matinence is pretty prompt with helping you with your issues.

This is my second year at Sunchase and the first year there were no problems. However, my apartment has had a mouse problem that has been going on for 3 weeks; I even was woken up by one at 2am in my bed. I’ve emailed and had face to face contact with the management in the club house but they don’t do anything except say the have to “call people to see what we can do”. The office also didn’t know this has been happening in 4 other building around me, I found this out from the Harrisonburg exterminator. Since this is week 3 I’ve decided to come onto here hoping I’ll be taken more seriously. My roommate purchased traps for the apartment since the maintenance took them out after catching only one mouse, but more were still there. Still, we see evidence of them in our apartment. We also have had to dispose of them ourselves since Sunchase doesn’t offer 7 day a week maintenance like other complexes. Will not be renewing my lease.

I Dont know what Mary was talking about. The management staff is actually one of the most flexible Ive encountered. Any Maintance issues were resolved the day off. They always have food in the clubhouse for residence. the pool is always well taken care of, the gym is 24/7 and for a college living situation, this is good for the money you pay. This will be my second year here and everyone i talk to loves it.

I have been a Sunchase resident for 2 years now and have had a good overall experience. The apartments are bigger and nicer than most and the maintenance staff is quick. But, the cable is TERRIBLE. Absolutely awful. No HD channels, picture is fuzzy, and dont be surprised to be missing around 5 channels every day (sometimes up to half of the channels are gone!).

I am so excited for the renovations to the clubhouse to be completed before I move in this fall! The leasing staff was very helpful during my tour and I love that they have a dog in the office- definitely a plus!

Lived here for 3 years of college and had a great experience. Staff was extremely pleasant. Maintenance was always quick and even with 3 years of wear I still got most of my deposit back.

The staff here is so nice and responsive, with almost any maintainence issues they are usually here within a day and it is done quickly. Another positive about Sunchase is that it is a quiet neighborhood without being super far away from stores and campus.

Living in Sunchase has been such an overwhelmingly positive experience. They really care about their residents and they are always putting on various fun and free activities each month.

I wish that busses came more often but I have to admit these are great apartments. Very spacious with a small balcony and a great community pool.

If I could give this place no stars I would. DO NOT LIVE HERE. They screw you over on prices and hide additional fees. Management is TERRIBLE and if you run into problems with your roommate dont expect them to help you. They dont follow the rules in their own contract!!!!! DO NOT LIVE HERE BY ANY MEANS! There are so many other places to live that are cheaper and nicer than sun chase is. Management is not confrontational at all and wont help to solve any issues. AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL. Hands down the worst experience I have ever had at an apartment!!!

Had a horrible experience living here. Although it seems as if the office staff is helpful, they really arent and most of them are rude. During my first semester living there I didnt even have internet and couldnt do my homework in my room. Also, the pool seems great and everything until they come out and tell you that you have to pay for each guest...absurd considering I was already paying over $500 a month. I also had several office staff tell me incorrect information-which cost me to lose hundreds of dollars. The least they could do was educate their employees on factual/correct information. DO NOT LIVE HERE I REPEAT!!! Many of my friends also had a problem living here. These people are huge scammers and come after college kids because we are new to the renting situation. Whatever you do, do not live here you will regret it.

Students BEWARE!This is not a student friendly complex. Rigid rules, too many hidden costs. Have a problem - too bad. They are great at spouting company policy but rotten in their ability to work with people and problem solve. Wouldnt rent here unless you have a lot of extra cash youd like to part with.

I am not the only one to complain about BS charges and hassle for no reason. For the last month of my rent sunchase did not send me the regular email I had every single other month of my lease reminding me to pay my rent. They sent nothing to remind me until I got notice from a lawyer with 65$ in fees when I am already 15 days late. We call the office explain what has happened they waive 40$ of the fee. Four days after them confirming they had the check for the rent and the fee an attorney shows up at the door saying we need to go to court for the unpaid rent. We call in and they say no court needed but we need to pay an additional 112$! This is absolutely ridiculous after a full lease of paying on time without issue! As well as the fact that they lapsed in the emails they were supposed to send with the link to pay my rent! Why they did not just send me an email or call me reminding me to pay my rent BEFORE I was 15 days late and they contacted a lawyer is beyond me. They got their money and they are going out of their way to turn this into a huge mess and more money.

Dont even live here but had to give a one star because of how incompetent and rude the staff is after some inquiries. Seriously, they are a bunch of late teenage/early 20s unprofessional girls. I have not seen a single guy or a mature person at the office. Please have a pep talk with your employees!

I sublease at Sunchase just for the summer & have had a horrible experience. The most recent thing, I was locked out of my apartment & called the 24 hr emergency maintenance number & I got a guy who was very rude & cussed me (told me it would be about an hour .... at 10 pm!). I told him I was going to see if my roommate was in town & I would call him back. Well he never answered. I called a local locksmith (who charged $10 MORE than what I would have been charged if the actual maintenance people would be doing their jobs). The locksmith got here & unlocked my door in less than 15 min. About 45 minutes later, maintenance called back like there wasnt even an issue. When I called Monday to let the office know, they acted like they cared but never even called back until they were called a SECOND time. They had the call recorded & heard how rude he was but did nothing except say sorry.

This is my second year living in Sunchase and my roommates and I have always loved it here. The staff is extremely warm and helpful. All of our maintenance issues were taken care of within 1-2 days. The atmosphere is friendly and clean. The new furniture is a MUST! The bedroom furniture is a little old and could be replaced soon. Not too loud on the weekends compared to other apartment complexes on Devon Lane. Perfect location right between Reservoir Street and Port Republic. Only other complaint besides old bedroom furniture is that sometimes it is impossible to get out of the complex onto Neff during busy traffic hours...but other than those two minor things, I LOVE SUNCHASE AND WOULD RECOMMEND IT TO ANY JMU STUDENT :)

The availability of guest parking spaces is too few for this complex. There are plenty of extra spots available for those with Sunchase passes that could be used for more guest passes.
