I never heard of micro-bladed eyebrows until my daughter suggested it. Jessica at Mode Salon East has done my eyebrows several times now and theyre wonderful. I dont want anything that looks unnatural. What she does makes my brows look fuller and better, but doesnt make people notice my brows specifically. People just think I look better! I recommend Jessica whole-heartedly.

I just got the worst haircut of my life here yesterday. The only time in my life where I actually cried after a haircut. I went in with the intention to switch up my medium length hair style to a lob (long bob). Took 4 photos in with me, including two of the new style I was looking for and 2 of me with similar length hair to point out what I wanted to change about those. We had an extensive conversation about the style before he even washed my hair. Instead of the textured one-layer lob I wanted, I got a chopped up short cut that I hate and will now have to deal with for months. It appeared that the stylist (I don’t even remember his name, pink hair and a sleeve tattoo) messed up while texturizing the one side and just kept cutting shorter and shorter until I told him to stop. Now I have this horrible short chopped layer (only on one side mind you) when I wanted it to be all one length. Please see attached photos 1) of what I asked for and 2) what I got. I will NEVER go here again. Ever.

I was in an emergency need to have my hair look good for an interview. I had really made a mess of my hair for years trying to dye it myself. It took Claudia a long time to remove the crazy damage I did and replace it with professional wonderful hair. I got the job and told Claudia I would never do my own hair again! I still go to her 1.5 years later and I am so happy with my hair and all the staff. I really enjoy that they are able to schedule a mini pedi with Christin while my hair is developed. Everyone here is professional and I’m not going anywhere else.

I visited Mode salon East for the first time yesterday and I’ll most definitely be back! Bethany did my lash extensions and brow tint and she’s the BEST! So personable and made me feel super comfortable, also my lashes/brows look amazing! Highly recommended and will for sure be telling my friends to go!

I just want to say what an incredible job Mode is doing to keep their staff and clients safe. I was hesitant to get my hair done due to the rising numbers of Covid in our area, but I felt completely safe when I was there. It is so important for businesses to take spreading this virus seriously, and Mode is leading the charge for sure.

Skip Mode East and do yourself a favor and go to Mode West. Mode East gave me the worst cut and color of my life and absolutely ruined the texture of my curls. Do not go to Lily. Steer absolutely clear of Lily, she’s great to talk to but had no idea what she was doing and had nothing to say about products. DO NOT GO TO LILY.

Today was my first experience at Mode salon East and it was great! I saw Alex Lopez for a balayage and hair cut. Alex took the time, in the beginning, to really understand my hair wishes and executed perfectly...asking me questions throughout. Alex is simply Ahmaaazing! A true artist! Alex was very friendly, professional, and really knows his stuff. He made my dream hair become a reality. Thank you, Alex! Also, Mode salon East is very well laid out in a beautiful historic home in downtown Gainesville--a unique experience. All the other staff members that I encountered were very friendly and professional. Highly recommend.

Jimmy is another of the incredible line of talented stylists I have been so blessed with being cared for here over the years. After an 8 month ongoing cancer crisis , my day with him was inexplicably uplifting and healing. His kindness , compassion and of course, extraordinary talent , transported me out of that all consuming world of cancer treatment and allowed me to enjoy a day of peace and precious friendship and being just a “ regular person “.

I went to Mode today to get my hair done as a birthday gift from my mom. I recently relocated from Miami to Gainesville and this was my first time at mode salon. I was placed with an “educator” named Jimmy only bc he had the earliest available appointment for the services I was requesting when I scheduled. I spent a total of 7 minutes there from the time I walked in to the salon to the time I walked out and it was 7 minutes too long!! Jimmy made sure to let me know how lucky I was that he was squeezing me in because he was booked through the month, for starters, and when I wanted to go over the price break down he seemed annoyed. I don’t know if his other clients all go in blindly but I prefer not to do that especially if I’m being treated to it. I found out there was a scheduling error and the receptionist only scheduled me for highlights and haircut instead of highlights, low lights and a haircut. Instead of apologizing for the inconvenience he said I was “adding in services” so the price was significantly higher than I was originally quoted. I then asked to call my mom and confirm the price with her bc again it’s a gift from her to me and of course I didnt want to overdo it. He then said “you know what, we should have already started if we were going to be able to fit it in today. You are going to have to reschedule.” I was more than on time for this appointment and we are now 4 minutes into it so I was a little taken back bc a phone call would take 30 seconds. Nothing was really making sense. He never even bothered to officially introduce himself to me so I only know his name from when the receptionist booked the appointment in all honesty. I felt it was important to write this review bc I really had to come home and wash that place and the entire experience off of me. No one should be made to feel the way I felt today and I really think Mode needs to re-evaluate the example they are setting for understudies or “new talent”. I can only imagine the injustices they must endure being mentored by someone with his disposition.

Clean looking place and staff are great and my hair stylist lily did an incredible job. She not only knows what she’s doing but is pleasant to talk to as well. She’s just great all around I highly recommend her

Jimmy is amazing with my short hair!! My hair can be challenging at times with the way it grows, but he is always offering the best advice in regards to styling and cutting it! It’s always hard to find a good hairstylist who can cut short hair, so he is definitively the one to go to. Each time I get my hair cut he is always able to tweak it to what I want to try or what I like! I appreciate how he is able to take factor in my thoughts into my haircut!

I have been to MANY salons here in Gaineville and have to say that Mode Salon is the best. I have never felt so welcome at a salon before! The first person I saw was Kylie and since then I have been going to her, shes great with coloring and I usually get full foils.Recently, I had foils done and the toner was darker than what I wanted. I didnt really give her direction on how light I wanted my hair and so there was a gap in communication. A couple days after the coloring I contacted Kylie and explained to her that I was unhappy with the color and wanted to fix it. I always feel bad coming to a stylist about something I didnt like, especially cause I felt like it was my fault! However, her reaction was SO nice and sincere. She got me in as soon as she could and completely redid the foils complementary!!! The second time around I was more communicative with her on the color I wanted and it came out perfectly. She was so patient and the owner or manager (not sure) even came over and discussed with me what the plans were with my hair.Overall, the service is amazing and the stylists and management are SO nice and patient with you and they really know what they are doing. The salon is really worth the money and I will definitely be a long term customer!

Today was only my first visit to Mode Salon, but Im excited to go back in ten weeks! I had my haircut with Alex, who is kind, funny, and incredibly talented at his job! I wasnt sure exactly what I wanted, but Alex guided me towards a haircut that suits me, is exactly what I needed, and that I absolutely love! I went in to see Tasha and had absolutely no idea what I wanted to do qith my hair. It had been 3 years since I had even cut it. She took care of my roots and added some amazing high lights. The cut is amazing also. I havent had layers in a while and she did them perfectly. I love how the whole staff works together. Great experience and cant wait to go back.

Tale of what I thought would be great turned out to be the worst experience I have ever had in the 7 years of highlighting my hair. Message me if you need details, I would NEVER recommend this salon (Mode East at least). Absolutely awful and I am sad I wasted half a paycheck there. It’s such a great environment! It’s clean. Everyone is so welcoming and friendly. The workers really care about you and what’s best for your hair. Your appointment is always customized to what you want and what you hair needs whether that’s a shampoo for more moisturizer or volume! I love it! I get my haircut by Jimmy every two weeks, give or take. I have to warn you he is addictive. Once youve gone to Jimmy regularly and given him enough time to know what you want and to know the characteristics of your hair, he will give you perfection every time. In case you didnt know, perfection is addictive. Ive been going to him and Mode Salon for more than four years. I wouldnt go anywhere else. If you want current, youll get it there. If you want to consistently look your best, youll get it there, too. Most people see others in their 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, and maybe even 90s,as on the downhill. That doesnt describe me and never will. Lonie and the team at Mode are top notch. I’ve been going there for six years at both locations and am NEVER disappointed. I actually moved to Jacksonville two years ago and tried other local salons, but they just didn’t offer the quality of service or overall experience. I found this salon by accident while doing a google search. I called and was able to book and appointment with a junior stylist within half an hour the same day! Upon entering the facility you are greeted by two smiling faces, ready to offer you a cold drink or hot coffee. There was no waiting for my stylist Brent, he immediately came out and welcomed me with a warm greeting. He showed me around the Salon and explained their products to me. Then he was very patient with me while we spoke about what I wanted with my specific face shape, and he also was willing and able to give me a professional opinion. I didn’t feel awkward ever or like I had to speak the entire time. The end results were exactly what I was hoping and looking for! I will definitely be returning and telling all my friends. I just got a haircut here after hearing several recommendations from friends and I was so happy with the result. My hairdresser was really considerate and did her best to make sure I was comfortable. The interior of the salon was absolutely beautiful, and the Christmas decorations were so cute. This was a great experience overall for me, and Im excited to go back again!

Excellent salon, with wonderful people. Alex is my hair stylist, and he is just the best. Great for short hairstyles (and I’m sure all hairstyles, but my hair happens to be short). He’s done everything from 1940s classic to pony hawk on my hair, and it has always looked fabulous. Also, Mode is the only salon in town with Davines products, which are made in Italy to extremely high standards for environmental sustainability. All-natural ingredients, and even the packaging is biodegradable. This salon feels like it belongs in a much larger city. It’s a level up from other salons I’ve been to in town, and the prices are reasonable. Love it!

Intimate atmosphere in an old converted house. Ive seen 3 stylists here and all are great. Ive been very happy with my hair!

My appointment was at 4:30, so I got there at 4:15. I didnt sit down in a styling chair until 5. I let my hair dresser Emily (who to her credit was very sweet, but very new) know that I wanted to match my natural root color (dirty blond) and bring that down a little into my bleached hair. She talks me through the process, says no problem we can do that. The owner came over to consult with her he says sounds like a plan. Put the color on, let it sit, by this time the salon is closed so the receptionist wants to cash me out, I said fine. Ended up paying $100 for a color, toner and a cut, not bad right (except I had a 50% off coupon for the color). Also it turns out I didnt need the toner. The owner said I dont think toner will work on her, and my stylist let him know I had already paid for it, so he agreed that they would do it. Needless to say there is still a skunk line down the middle of my hair where my roots are, and my hair looks the same. I am out $100 and almost 5 hours of my life. I wish I had that money back so that I could afford to go somewhere else and get it fixed.

Ive been a client of Ann Maries for a number of years. Shes a master a cutting my somewhat coarse, somewhat wavy/curly hair. I always end up with a great cut that Im happy with and that requires little work on my part to keep it looking its best. The staff at Mode have always been courteous and helpful, and I appreciate the decor. My only wish is that the cuts could be a tad more affordable.

Mode Salon is easily the best hair salon in Gainesville, Florida. The stylists are always up-to-date on the latest hair styles and coloring techniques. They make me feel welcome the minute I walk through the door. And, once my stylist has washed my hair, I am always relaxed with a gentle massage, which releases all of those daily frustrations.Once my hair is cut and styled, I always walk out the door feeling like a movie star. I have never had a bad cut or a bad hair style from Mode Salon East. I have been to several of their stylists and every single one has been professional, friendly and great and their job!I wont go anywhere else but Mode Salon for my hair care needs! I love YOU, Mode Salon East….YOU ROCK!

I received a Brazilian blowout service from Brittany and had an excellent experience. She was extremely gentle on my hair, engaging and listened to my advice on how best to work with my hair. She was patient and even stayed after hours due to the fact that I have very thick textured hair that is more challenging to work with. While other stylists have become frustrated she was willing to stay as long as it took. The manager of the Salon, Lonnie even came by several times to make sure I was being taken care of well. I love Mode salon and will never go anywhere else for my salon services. They have excellent pedicures and facials as well. Very best quality salon in Gainesville.

I love everything about this salon - from the place to the products to the people! I usually head in for pedicures, a brow wax or for a quick up-do for a special occasion but this time I went in for a cut and color with Eugene. What an experience! We discussed my needs and preferences before starting, he whipped out the ipad and look book to make sure we had our perfect plan for what color and tone I preferred. Refreshments were offered. Lonnie, the owner, stopped by to chat and also to compliment Eugene on his work several times during my appointment. That made me feel super relaxed and confident ;) Mode doesnt miss a step and I always recommend them to others... now I can add haircuts to the ever-growing list of why Im a loyal client. Everyone is very friendly and professional. Ann Marie does a great job on my hair and listens to what I want done with it. I usually just get a cut but will sometimes splurge and do highlights. They look amazing! I will keep coming back.
