The technician arrived and within a few minutes said that my issue was that both evap fans were bad. I was not home but my wife was. She called me and I spoke to the technician who relayed the technician information about the parts being bad and needing to be replaced. I asked specifically if the tech checked the voltage from the circuit board to the motors as I didn’t want to replace fans if the board was the issue. He assured me that he had and that everything was good from the board. He said that the repair would cost over $500 and that it would be three weeks before they could come back out. So, I told him that I would discuss it with my wife as that was a long time to go without a working refrigerator and freezer. I was charged the $146 and the technician left. My wife called me back after he left and told me that all he did was open the refrigerator door and press the door switch and when the evap motor didn’t come on said that the motors were bad. She told me he never even checked voltage with a meter. He didn’t take anything apart to check anything. I have already called and left this complaint the same day that he was here which was almost two weeks ago. I have heard nothing from the company. I want the $146 back for the improper diagnosis. I say improper because my evap for the freezer works fine and the there was something blocking the evap fan blade on the refrigerator so that it could not turn. Once the obstruction was removed the motor came on and ran and has been running fine for almost two weeks.

Unit stopped working, food spoiled discovered April 18, kenmore sent tech 4/19 gave estimate and reprogramed motherboard said this might fix problem within 24 hours. Did not work. called kenmore again to give OK, and told tech had to come out again since we didnt accept his first estimate right away. Tech (same one) came out entered home and called in original order without any reinspecting. Set up appointment to reinstall-was cancelled due to one part not delivered till afternoon. set up new date which was then cancelled because tech (same one) was sick. after many agravating calls a new date was set, and a new tech was sent to install the parts. He tested the unit and, after many calls to the home office, admitted the original tech had miss diagnosed the problem. That it was a coolant problem with the compressor. To prove it he removed the dryer part - showing us how clean it was. He then installed a new dryer and compressor all of this on June 16. He took the new evaporater back with him and said it wasnt needed - that the unit was fixed and temps would be ok by 24 hours. The temps after 24 hours were not OK. They were and are 44 degrees refrig, and 5 degrees in freezer. Called kenmore again and again telling them unit was still not right and wanted to speak to someone in management - was transferred given a new number which was a non working one. Decided I could no longer wait, and have ordered a new refridge, I will be contacting BBB and applicable Federal agencies in the near future.

My particular model of refrigerator is the subject of a class-action lawsuit for icemakers that freeze up. Generally known as a design flaw. The service desk person that I talked to, Jovell, assisted me to get a partial refund for the entire refrigerator! Her manner on the phone was courteous and professional. This refund means Samsung will no longer service my refrigerator, but they did pay for our service call by Sears Appliance Repair to replace the defective icemaker with an approved Samsung upgrade. Samsung bought out our refrigerator so its no longer supported, but I still admire the quality and build of our Samsung refrigerator.

Has not been a nice experience with Sears Appliance Repair. The problem was with the plastic left on the doors when refrigerator was delivered 3-4 years ago. I thought the plastic was to stay on the doors. The plastic was looking bad, so a couple of months ago I was at sears to buy a water filter and I asked why plastic was not on the doors and was advised plastic was supposed to be removed at delivery by the ones he delivered refrigerator. So I called to have the plastic removed. I was given a date and time. When tech. came he let me know he did not want to remove the plastic he thought he was to fix door handle. Well he and the girl with him removed the plastic, but could not remove the residue from the plastic. He filled my trash can with the plastic without asking and used my paper towels without asking. Small pieces of plastic was left on floor. I called Sears Appliance Repair to advise the tech could not finish the job and also about being rude. I was given another date and time. On that date no one came or called. So I called Sears about that and was given another date and time, when he came he was very kind and I explained all to him. He tried to remove the residue but was not able to. He brought his own cleaner and paper towels and left no mess. I would like to talk with the person in charge to find out what is next. I left a message to call me but nothing so far. At this time I do not recommend Sears Appliance Repair to anyone. It take me 2-3 calls to get to the right department, then it is hard to understand what they say on each of the calls. There is a language barrier on almost every call. I hope this can be resolved soon.

We purchased a Kenmore Elite refrigerator from Sears and had nothing but problems with the refrigerator and service. The refrigerator has broken down once every six months. With that being said it takes two to three weeks to fix. On every other occasion it requires the repair person to come back, which also takes two to three weeks. We have lost a lot of food through the past couple of years. We purchased the Kenmore Elite from Sears along with the extended warranty because we thought they were reliable. Not so much

I called for repair on my dehumidifier early June. An appointment was set for June 12. No-one showed. Contacted Sears who told me to call the company who Sears had asked to come out! The company said they had had no request from Sears. Contacted Sears again; after several phone calls and online chats I got an email saying an appointment had been set for June 30 (no explanation as to why no earlier appointments were available). Technician came on June 30, said the dehumidifier couldnt be repaired and that, as it was under warranty, a replacement would be sent, together with a pre-paid shipping label to return the broken one. He said the new one should be shipped within 48 hours. It is now July 10 and I havent heard another word from Sears. Today, I called Sears and, after waiting for 35 minutes with no answer, went online to chat. After explaining the problem, I was told they couldnt help and gave me a phone number. After waiting 50 minutes, I was answered, only to be told that I needed to call annother department. I called the number and have now been on hold for 54 minutes! The nightmare continues......

I reluctantly rescheduled for another day, but they still couldnt get there on time, nor had the common courtesy to say they were running behind. Sears has definitely been going down hill with their services. They dont really have a customer service department that can help you when you call. All they do is apologize and ask if you want to reschedule! Are they freaking kidding? I am most definitely rethinking my home warranty, due to the reviews Im seeing and most definitely wont call for any other services.

I give 3 stars because getting the appointment was so frustrating. The first appointment was cancelled the day of - at 9:30 am (not the 7-8 A. M. as promised). The second date I was given over the phone, when they cancelled, was one day off of the date that showed up in the email communication. The emailed date was correct - dont go by promises made by the dispatcher over the phone. However, the repairman was really helpful. He detected a small gas leak in a very old oven and immediately turned off the gas. He then gave us a rough estimate of the cost to fix verses the cost to buy new. When I picked buying new, he shared some suggestions and advice about choosing a new range for a propane system. He also tried to see if he could reduce the cost of the service visit since he had been unable to do any kind of service. He couldnt avoid the fee but I appreciated the gesture. 5 stars to the repairman.

First- Sears is an absolute mess as far as their customer service and products are concerned. I bought a Bosch dishwasher in Dec 2016. It has worked approximately 6 months. I’ve had technicians out 6-7 times trying to fix this thing. Thank goodness we have the extended plan!!It was going to require a couple more visits or parts in order to classify it as a lemon!!I just couldn’t call customer service anymore because I can’t stand having to talk to people in other countries with thick accents reading from a script!! Several of those calls was enough- I almost didn’t care if the dishwasher got fixed or not.BUT—- the good news and why I had to chose 4 stars are the technicians. EVERYONE of them were knowledgeable, respectful, as frustrated as I was and always on time. I can’t say enough good about all of them. My last two service calls- and hopefully my last- were with Guy- FABULOUS! He certainly knew what he was doing and went over and beyond to make sure the time between visits was quicker than what the bunch from customer service could do.I certainly understand why Sears is doing so poorly- too bad because fixing customer service would help quite a bit and would go along ways in retaining what customers they have left.

Chatted with a rude Lewis Smith. He transferred me to his supervisor Amelia White who was fake empathetic, but could also not help. She referred me to the service center because she was as high as I could go on chat. I waited two weeks for this appointment and Amelia wanted me to wait another two weeks when I spent from 1-5 waiting for the technician to show up. I called the service line 3 times. First time someone picked up and put me on hold and never opened the line. The second person told me they were referring me to escalation, but really sent me nowhere. The 3rd time someone answered and they pretended to help. I was on hold for over 10 minutes and then hung up on me. I was sent an email with a reschedule date and time that I never asked for while I was on hold with the 3rd person. Incompetence all the way around the repair service, chat, and phone center. I guess we know why the company was a failure.

We had GREAT service! The service tech was extremely knowledgeable and had the part in his truck to fix the problems. We had extended warranties on our range, dishwasher and microwave, which he took care of. Originally I was told by customer service that I would require two appointments. One to fix our broken range and another to do a check-up on the dishwasher and microwave (HUH)???But as luck would have it, our service tech took care of everything in one visit. He was prompt, polite, on time and well qualified for the job!Previous experiences with Sears have not gone as well. Appointments were scheduled for 2 weeks out, cancelled by previous tech at the last minute (and then rescheduled 2 weeks later) and then only to arrive and have to order replacement parts and another rescheduled appointment to have them installed! Glad SEARS finally hired a true SERVICE TECH. Appliances are working great and were a satisfied customer.

Honestly, zero stars would be our review. During a home warranty repair the home warranty company used Sears Service to “repair” our front loader washer. I use repair loosely. They told us they ordered a part and never did! It was a month and half of going back and forth with Sears and their lack of communication between with-in their own departments and customer to realize they dropped the ball on ordering the part! The home warranty ordered the part themselves after a number of complaints from us after over a month and half of waiting with Sears. The part arrived four days after the warranty company ordered it. The next appointment was then two weeks out. We sat here the day after thanksgiving for four hours during our 8am-12pm window to hear the repair man was sick at 11:40am. Their next opening to reschedule is in two weeks Dec. 8th.Countless calls to Sears since September- November 24, no shows, orders not places as said, and $100 spent at laundromats while they played their games = HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICES!!Also, their automated system is horrible! They don’t call, they email you to tell you to callThem! At each call they wanted to know if we were interested in a kitchen remodel estimate. While we are also remolding our kitchen, when a company gives you that many headaches that’s a red flag!We will never order nor shop at Sears again! Amazing how the repair person was sick they day after Thanksgiving. Sounds more like that person enjoyed their holiday weekend as we sat waiting for them to arrive, which never happened! To think we gave up plans for nothing!

Russ says no, its up to customer to clean it.When I asked about a drip on oven window, inside the glass, he would not even clean THAT! He merely checked the temp calibration, which he felt he should do since I am here. He did say if I had a major problem, it would save me money. While the technician did what he could, this machine continues to have issues getting our clothes clean. We have had numerous service calls for this issue over the past 4 years, but most did not count toward satisfying Sears policy for providing a replacement machine. When Sears declared bankruptcy and another company bought out the service contracts, they erased all previous history of service calls. Sears says the machine is performing to specifications - however, it does not meet our expectations for cleaning our clothes. A basic specification should be produce clean clothes. When some clothes come out of the cycle with dry spots, they cannot be clean. The problem lies in the design of the machine. Sears technicians acknowledge that its a bad design; yet, the machine meets specs. Our faith in Sears products, once highly respected, no longer exists and we will never buy another Sears product.

Dont buy a master protection agreement. The subcontractor tech Sears sent to repair our microwave didnt show up or call to say he wouldnt show up. The second subcontractor tech Sears sent out couldnt figure out what was wrong. By their own admission, He was not qualified to work on your appliance. They will not replace our microwave now until an official Sears tech comes who will take a second look. When I called Sears Holdings they stated it takes 4 repairs in a year before they actually replace an appliance covered by this plan. They dont count either of the two days we have already stayed home. I will never purchase another appliance from Sears again. They dont stand behind their products or their repair personnel.Update: Less than 24 hours before the THIRD appointment, Sears sent an email cancelling the appointment and rescheduled it to a day the following week without even consulting us. Reason: You said you want a Sears tech, not a contractor. Incorrect. Their unqualified subcontractor couldnt diagnose the problem so SEARS (not us) requires their Sears tech to come out. Our fourth appointment is now 8 days shy of being 2 months from our initial call. They rescheduled, then canceled, then rescheduled three times before finally sending someone qualified who fixed it in ten minutes.Bottom line: If you can afford four days at home and two months of waiting, then buy a Sears appliance and master protection agreement. Otherwise, purchase your appliances elsewhere.

Not a happy camper. My original issues were, 1. no water dispensing, 2. no ice dispensing, 3. water occasionally leaking on the floor. First visit, the repair tech did an evaluation and ordered parts. Second visit, tech replaced parts (not sure it was done correctly). 1. Water now dispenses, 2. ice dispenses. That is the positives. NOW, every time I dispense water, I have water running out the bottom of my refrigerator. The light is no longer coming on when ice or water is dispensed. (bulb is gone, ??) The face plate that surrounds the dispensing area is gapping away from the freezer door. (I suspect that a clip on the inside has been broken) AND the stainless steel finish on my freezer door has been scratched and scared. (His reply when I discovered this, Im sorry, I only have metal tools) . I did contact Sears as soon as the tech left. They were not supportive to my issues. The repairman (dont remember name) that performed my dryer repairs on Sept 11, 2017 did a superior job at diagnosing the reason that my dryers drum was not turning. He even showed me a video that explained and demonstrated probable cause. He then immediately positioned the dryer so that he was able to remove the covering to see, show and explain to me that the drive belt puller had loosen itself causing the belt to be mal-aligned, thus allowing the belt to come of the puller. The symptoms i described and what the video showed was exactly what the Technician had suggested. why, because the technician physically examined the dryer to validate and verify what the drums malfunction issue was. He did all of aforementioned details in a matter of less than 30 minutes and needless to say, my dryer works as designed. You may ask, why such long narrative? Its because the first technician (a female) who diagnosed my dryers malfunction weeks before looked at my dryer and never moved a muscle to check, explore nor consult with another technician as to what the dryer problem might be. Just ordered a part and left. My question to the first technician was, how can you determine what the problem is by just listing to me as a customer and only looking at the machine without examining or taking apart anything? The reply was I know its the blower motor or its module.I knew at that moment incompetence was at work, thus a part was ordered, it came to my house, which i asked (not to send) because i was flying out of country. Guess what showed up on my door steps why i was away on travel? Yes, an electronic component that could have been stolen and wasnt needed in the first place. In my opinion the component might as well have been stolen because it was not needed. Results, a waste of money, my time and the incompetent technicians time. And all the dryer needed was a dryer motor pulley re-tighten with lock-tight and the belt replaced, which was lying in the bottom pan of the dryer.Does it sound like I am unhappy with the waste of time without my dryer and the first technicians? Well, I am because of the unnecessary time wasted and the what if? If I didnt have coverage. The money that i would have been out of due to this person failure to physically diagnose the machine symptoms in the first place. My question to Sears is, how do you police incompetence within your assigned contractors agreements thats cost effective and a benefit to the customer? My bet or gamble is this: My message doesnt get posted and no one from Sears will ever contact me.The first two paragraphs above are accolades for the second energetic technician not the first technician.

Very positive experience with all your repair personnel. We have not had a good experience with your people that are responsible for replacing the unit. They told us that the repair personnel did not complete the proper paperwork to replace our defective unit and sent another repairman out. The repairman informed us that the former repairman did fill out the paperwork correctly so we are confused. We just want our unit replaced. We will never purchase another Sears product again. We have gotten the run around for the last 3 months.

I am very angry with Sears. We have been without a refrigerator for over a month. First appointment, the technician couldnt even say hello before entering our home. He also had no idea what is under warranty on a 2.5 year old Kenmore Elite refrigerator, luckily I read the manual and could tell him our repair (compressor) was indeed covered. We were then asked if we wanted him to put our refrigerator (that was in the middle of our kitchen against the island) back together. Considering the next available appointment was not for three weeks and there are parts everywhere, yes please put it back together before you leave.... Now three weeks later, I waited at home all day after they confirmed our appointment yesterday. 4pm, no technician and four customer service calls later they say we never called to tell them the parts were in so they cancelled our route. We have no calls, emails, or voicemails saying this was OUR responsibility and how was this not addressed yesterday when they confirmed! The best they can do is say we can get someone out there June 13th. Luckily, we have made a mini-fridge work temporarily but this is absolutely ridiculous! I will never buy from Sears again.

I am very satisfied with my Sears appliance repair experience on my dishwasher that had suddenly stopped responding to operating commands. The first repairman replaced the electronic control module, which restored the control panel. However, the first load failed to execute because the pump motor had also failed at the same time. The second repairman discovered this second failure, the cost of which made the appliance uneconomically repairable. The Sears 4MY-HOME number operator refunded all of my repair costs without hesitation. I subsequently purchased a new dishwasher from Sears, and the installation went perfectly. All is well!

My experience with Sears Repair was HORRIBLE. It took 2 months to get them to come to my home to repair my riding mower. I had to borrow my father in laws so my grass would not be two feet tall. I had a belt replaced, new blades, oil; change, fuel filters, spark plugs. I used the mower the next day. I t was back firing, blowing out black smoke and stalling out. I called Sears, they told me they could not get someone out there for over three weeks. Thanks sears for not caring about the consumer any more. Your customer service is in the toilet. No wonder you are having to close stores.

Called and schedule the maintance of my front load washer & dryer because we moved and they were in storage for a month. The Tech came out and said the service should have cost $80 and not $99. So for $99 I got a quick look by the Tech, he “got a much of the lent as he could” and then left. Went up to do a load of laundry and he didn’t even remove the barrel locking screws on the washer, but he ran two cycles. When as if the washer was level, he said yes - but how can you ensure that the washer is level, when the drum wasn’t spinning. He didn’t even notice. Wasted $99. And my dryer is loud, I’ll need to get another Tech out to check that and to level my washer. Seriously, I washed money.

The gentleman was punctual. He asked if I was having any problems with the washer and dryer. I explained that sometimes the dryer wont start spinning and I have to manually turn it. Once I do that and restart the dryer, its fine. The gentleman couldnt repeat the scenario, so there was nothing for him to fix. He suggested that I call the next time it happens to determine the problem.

The technician explained to me he would be primarily checking the heat pump. He explained that the unit was not at optimum efficiency based too many amps drawn. He took a few moments to see if there was any oil leakage in the condensate tray of the furnace unit, but despite the evidence of overflow, possible clogging of the drain, he went int a sales pitch to get me a scheduled quote for a new A/C. He had no words on what I could do as home owner to improve the efficiency of the unit. Perhaps in the choice of what I could do and the idea of a new unit I just might decide to go new.

It took five visits to troubleshoot and repair this heating system. Heres a short summary: day 1: waited over 8 1/2 hrs the tech came in looked around and left. Day 2: waited almost 9 hrs: the tech came in and it was too dark for him to see. Day 3: waited 45 minutes and a new tech found the problem in 15 minutes and ordered the parts. Day 4: the original teach was a no show after 4 1/2 hour and I was finally call around 12:45. He said the parts were locked up in the warehouse and he had no access on weekends. Another whole day lost. Day 5: another tech almost had to reschedule because he wasnt assigned a helper. However he new that was waiting a month for this repair and he came and completed the job. His scheduling department wanted him to reschedule and the tech and took care of the customer. Because I had to use electric heat for a month is cost me an additional $65.00 in electrical power. I lost approximately 22 during the work week and if I used the sears labor rate, thats a lot of money. Because this unit had a factory recall, sears should have replaced the entire unit at no cost to me. I didnt find out about this until day 5. Sears use to be the best of the best and I dont what happened to their leadership. The CEO needs to make some changes in this area. If sears has any questions, they are welcome to call me because this is not the quality of service that I expected. 🇺🇸

Your schedule of charges are too high. You charged $99 for a service call. But, evidentially, that only paid for getting the technician to my house and did not cover his doing anything when he got here. So you added a charge of $76 for doing the work I brought him her to do which was to crimp a connector on the end of an electrical wire and plug in the heating coil in my oven which I had previously ordered from you and had on hand. It seems to me that a $99 service call charge should include some actual service!! Ill think twice before I call you again.

The appliance tech that came to do repairs, Gabe, is the best one. I did have frustration with whoever did the scheduling, because I had requested Gabe and someone else would call saying that they were leaving to come do the repairs. But they saw that Gabe was requested and asking if they should still come to do this job. No. After a few weeks of this, I had to speak to customer service. The man I spoke with when scheduling again, was not pleasant. Gabe gets the 5 stars.

My Refrigerator is 6 yrs old and it stop keeping things cold in the refrigerator and not cold enough in the freezer. Dec 8, 2018 contacted Sears to have tech (Howard) come out to see what was wrong - appt for 1/8/19, order part (coil) 1/16/19 - tech put part on. Once tech had gone the we waited for a day but still did not work - called again to set appt for Feb 2019 tech looked at it again and order the evaporator fan. Tech (different tech) Edward said it was not the fan, that it was the sensors, which he replaced same day. We waitied 2 days - still not working. Called for another appt on 3/6/19, tech Howard back and stated that it was the fan and they had to reorder the fan but he installed new door cam. March 22, tech Howard back and installed the fan - still did not work - April 3rd, Tech (new tech - 3rd technician) He stated it was not the fan - he order parts, Evaporator, Evaporator motor and compressor. Our next appt is on Tuesday 4/9/19.How many techs need to work on a refrigerator and how many does it take to get someone who knows what they are doing????Very dissatisfied with Sears service, I have been without a refrigerator for now going on 5 months and still have not got this fixed, with the parts that Sears has put into this refrigerator and what I am paying for the warranty and deductibles - Sears could have replaced the refrigerator and saved money.Well Since this last posted , I have had the Tech person came back again and he has found that the previous Tech put the compressor part on incorrectly and broke another part and now has come to the conclusion that the refrigerator cannot be repaired. The Tech contacted his Supervisor and put in the information to have a claim done. Well, two weeks have gone by and I finally ended up contacting the claims department to find that they have scheduled an appointment to have the same Tech come back out to make sure the refrigerator is not repairable. What more is he going to tell them - that he has not already told them (Unreal). I finally contacted the claims department yet again to find out that this process will take anywhere from 30 days to 90 days to come to a decision on what they are going to do. Meanwhile, I have had no refrigerator since 12/8/18 and have 2 small grandchildren living with me. The claims department person told me I could purchase a new refrigerator but, they could not guarantee that they would refund me any money on it or towards it. I am still paying a $49.99 warranty monthly for no service now, and I have a refrigerator that is taking up space and cannot use it. I guess - I will get something by Christmas 2019.

The service man did a diagnostic test on my washer and dryer. He was a very nice and courteous young man. He told me to use a little less detergent in the washer and that a specialist would be calling me concerning a error code that comes up on my dryer. It is a week later and no one has contacted me. There was no maintenance done on either machine even though my service contract says that maintenance will be done. Always before the dryer was opened and all the lint, etc. was cleaned out and the washer connections were checked and screens cleaned. None of this took place.

If it were possible to give a negative number of stars, that would be most accurate of my experience. This family of 8 went without a refrigerator for 4 weeks, only to have Sears come and “service” our fridge and have the same issue 90 minutes after technician left. We now have to wait 3 more weeks before they can come back to repair - but they insisted on psymmetry. They have this beautiful phone system where you can never speak with anyone in charge and they do not give out legal department info unless you provide a bar association number. Literally NO one can help you. NEVER ever use this company. Our fridge was only 18 months old when it just quit working. The WORST customer service and the WORST products.

This experience has taught me never to buy another appliance from Sears. I called the service department to schedule a repair for my washer. About 3-4 weeks later, the technician came out, diagnosed the problem, and ordered parts. FOUR WEEKS later, he returned and replaced those parts, only to find that they were the wrong parts. He ordered more parts, doubling the cost of the original estimate. Four MORE weeks later, he returned and installed them, finally solving the problem. It took approximately three months to get the work done correctly. In addition, he told us we would earn Sears rewards points for the cost of the repairs, which we never received. Im giving them ZERO stars.
