Initially, when I called Sears Appliance Repair to repair my Samsung washing machine, I was impressed by the response to my call ( call was taken in India or Pakistan, sounded like). The repairman was at my home early the following day, and I was first notified by text, voice mail, and email of the anticipated arrival! The repairman was very polite, discovered the problem and explained it to us. He had to order a new pump, gave us his phone number to call and let him know when the pump arrived so that he could return to finish his repair. We were taken aback by the cost, totaling over $400, which we had to pay that day. We were told that the cost would be half that amount if we purchased a Sears home appliance insurance policy, which in itself was expensive and we chose not to purchase it.A few days later, the pump arrived, and I called the repairman to inform him, and he said that he would be here the next day. He never showed up or called, texted or emailed me. I subsequently phoned him 3-4 other times and it went to voice mail except for once, and I was told that he had been sent to another part of the state to work and he would get to me soon. After 3.5 weeks, a different repairman phoned and said he would be here the following day. He did come, fixed my washing machine and did a good job, cleaning up after himself.Overall the repair went well and the repairmen were polite and professional while here. But the long wait was very aggravating, and I would have appreciated a call letting me know they were swamped and couldnt get to me in a timely manner. Nor did they apologize for telling me they would be here the next day, then not only did not show up, but no call letting me know they wouldnt be able to. Also, not being able to wash clothes or anything else for that length of time was very inconvenient!

If you don’t have the expensive warranty and still choose to have the work done, they are going to over charge you. The part needed to fix my fridge was around $60. The labor to complete the 10 minute job was about $300. A complete scam.He had no idea what he was talking about, he was on the phone asking someone else what was wrong with it and still charged me an outrageous amount of money and it still isn’t even fixed! I will never own anything from Kenmore again.

Great service! The communication prior to the appointment was on point via phone and email. Mike, was on time and took care of everything that was needed. Very thorough and helpful. I highly recommend investing in Sears extended warrantys. No hidden exclusions and excellent service on the repairs. Love it!

The ONLY reason the are getting one star is because it wont allow you to post with a ZERO!It was a 4 1/2 day wait to have an appointment to fix my washer. The repairman said they thought it was the safety button on the door not working. He replaced that, we told him that the washer would work fine and then it would stop and three to five trys later it would work, it may work the next 4 times and then stop again. He stated that it was fixed hit the button a couple times to start it but never opened the door. After he left we opened the door put in clothes and nothing... back to the exact same problem. It had been less than an hour after he left so we called into Sears and tried to explain the situation. The customer service person tells me well your appointment is between the hours of 8am and 5pm I kindly let them know it is now 6:00pm my time and they say well I dont know why they have not been there. I stop and ask if they have heard anything I said and she goes yes your washer is not working and the repair person has not been there. I explained that they have been here and worked on the washer, I paid $270 and it is STILL doing the same thing. I asked when they could come back and she said they would call me within the next hour and it should not be a problem for them to come back that same day.2 hours later no call and no repair man, Im still trying off and on to get the washer to start as it has been almost 5 days with out any laundry washed.I call customer service back and talk to a representative who argues with me that it is not after 5pm and that I need to be patient. I go over everything again and she says that the repair man has probably gone home and she cant do anything until they send in their paperwork and that I will need to call them back on Monday as this was all on a Friday. I stated that was unacceptable as I need my washer fixed. She stated that I did not have a choice and hung up on me. I called back in reviewed everything with another representative and they also tell me that I will have to call back. I then asked to speak to a manager.I review everything with the manager and she tells me I can schedule something for the following Friday as the repair person is only in my area that day of the week. I expressed my frustration and that I did not feel that it was appropriate for me to have to wait another week for a repair that should have taken place today. In the end it did not matter that I had TERRIBLE customer service, it did not matter that I paid $270 to have my washer STILL broken and it did not matter that it will have been 2 WEEKS without a washer....Now we wait to see if the new repair man can fix my washer this Friday...

The refrigerator switches from power cool on its own and then power cool off on its own. This alternates rapidly and produces a chime which is very annoying. This lasted for approximately 24 hrs. When I called for a repairman I was informed that the repairman would be there the next day. I asked if I could turn the chime off, it was driving the family crazy. A technician was put on the phone and instructed me to unplug the refrigerator, wait a minute and plug it back in. This stopped the chiming and the switching for power cool on and off. When the technician arrived the next day, he could not diagnose the problem. He said that we would have to wait til it started the malfunction before he could diagnose the problem. I was charged the diagnose fee plus $10.00 because he could not verify my complaint. I dont know if or when it will malfunction again.

Our refrigerator stopped working on May 7. It took 11 days for a technician to come diagnose the problem. The technician was professional and ordered a compressor (refrigerator is only 4 years old). A new compresser was ordered and added. The refrigerator worked about 8 hours then stopped cooling again. We were told it would be another 2 weeks before someone could come out and look at it again. To date, our refrigerator has been out for 1 month. We have the Master Agreement Protection Plan, however, it does not seem to matter as far as timeliness in getting to us. The turnaround time for technicians and repairs are totally unacceptable. If Sears does not have the manpower to complete all repair work in a timely manner, then hire some more guys or contract the work out. The consumer should not have to wait for weeks before a technician can come, then wait for parts, then wait a few more weeks before the technician can come back and put the part in.

The service guy was great that came out. However, I was told the charge would be $96. They did not tell me that was only the initial charge. To repair the belt, the charge would have been over $200. I had ordered the belt over the phone from Sears parts myself and had it waiting for him. The only reason why I called service was because I could not get the belt on due to the fact it was too small. I called Sears parts twice to verify that they sent the right belt and they assured me they did. But the service guy informed me that they didnt send the right one. I would never have even called service to begin with if Sears had sent the right belt. So now, Im out $96 and still have not got the treadmill fixed. Will never buy from Sears again!

The repairman seemed put out to be here. It seemed like he didnt want to move my refrigerator to try to figure out what was wrong with the freezer. He didnt really figure it what was wrong, he just put some freon in it and said to wait and see. Overall, a very disappointing service call, especially for the price.

The service technician - Tyler - was terrific in all ways and he is FIVE Stars. The process and delay in getting him to my home to fix the dishwasher was beyond poor! Initially the rude, poorly understandable off-shore non-native speaking customer service representative gave us an appointment for a month after the call! It is obvious that Sears does not have enough service technicians in this area to provide timely service.I have asked repeatedly to speak to someone in management to discuss the poor service I received and have not received a call.Once I posted my displeasure on line on Facebook, I started to get to people who could make things happen and they were able to move the appointment up, though it was still three weeks of a wait, and then more delay to get the part and have it installed.Sears responsiveness sucks!

I called Sears as a last resort. Although prompt (they said between 8-5, but the morning of, they gave me a two hour window and told me when they were on their way) now nothing works. I have a double side, and it was the refridgerator side that didnt work. They kept trying to push insurance plans when all I wanted was a diagnostic - I got a whole list of things wrong. Now the whole thing isnt even running, and they estimated $520 in repairs. I was not impressed, and I feel like I wasted almost $100 for them to tell me nonsense.

Our LG refrigerator that we purchased as Sears has been a nightmare. It is now 23 October and the refrigerator stopped cooling before 27 September and Sears told us it will be 7 Nov before the second compressor and control board will be in and the repairman here to fix it. That means that it will be a month and a half without a refrigerator. I am not in the least bit happy with the (lack of) customer service provided by Sears. I will not buy any more appliances from Sears and will certainly spread the word about the poor reliability of LG products and the Sears response to fixing them. Totally unacceptable!!!

They are more concerned with selling a warranty service than fixing the broken appliance. $540 for a part that I can buy for $126 and install myself. Unless you buy the warranty for $89 per month, then they drop the price to $270. Scam!

Scheduled a service call on my Samsung dryer to get the heat element replaced. I was quoted at $130-140 but when the service agent from A&E Factory Services showed up, he said it was $240. I called supervisor, Maxine, who told me that it doesnt matter what her worker quoted, she couldnt help me even though the repair was for EXACTLY what was needed (heat element). I asked to speak to speak to the Store Manager and was denied. I have dealt with many companies and this is the absolute worst experience I have ever had. The agent I originally dealt with on Monday also answered today and at first he said he remembered me and then I when I told him the difference in price, he backpedaled and said I spoke with someone else. I strongly recommend everyone to avoid this business as they will probably attempt to run over you with lies and price increase extortion as they did me!

So far, so bad. Made an appointment for a repair tech to visit Monday between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. No tech or call by 1:40 so I call the robo-answer number only to be told by the machine that I can now expect the tech between 2 and 4. Makes things very unconvient since I must leave the house at 3. Nobody seems to know why I got bumped. Add me to the list of dissatisfied customers even before the tech arrives.
