DO NOT CALL THEM! Absolutely below zero. They came out TWICE, misdiagnosed my fridge/freezer situation, overcharged me (based on the guy who fixed it) by 20%, and FIXED A COSMETIC unnecessary situation. Left my fridge/freezer not working at a dangerous level where my milk was curdling and food was rotting. And this took a MONTH and was still not fixed. Finally called another local tech who fixed it within the hour he was there. Now they won’t return or process a refund. Zero respect to a company who is actively cheating people! RUN from Sears Appliances.

HORRIBLE!! READ REVIEWS, I WISH I HAD!! Dishwasher wouldnt drain properly. They told us it would be $300 to fix the problem but wouldnt say what the problem was. Come to find out all that was wrong with the washer was a clogged drainage hose.

First, let me say that the service techs are polite and professional. Pretty much every other part of the repair experience is infuriating. We bought a Kenmore stackable washer/dryer from Sears less than two years ago. Based on a few reviews about control panel issues, we purchased protection agreements on both. 5 months ago, the dryer started overheating and shutting down after several minutes of use. Takes a couple hours of shutting down, let it cool off, restart, to dry a load. We called for service. After 40-45 minutes on hold (every time you call the national service line), we got an appointment, whichn is never less than a 2-3 week wait. Tech comes, orders parts, we call to schedule another appointment when the parts arrive, wait another 2 weeks. Tech replaces parts, dryer malfunctions again as soon as we run a load of clothes. Another call/2week wait/troubleshooting tech visit, tech orders a new computer. Wait for part, another wait to get an appointment, tech comes back. For some reason, dryer appears to be working as it should when he comes, so he doesnt replace computer. Two days later, same issues again, another phone call, another 2 weeks, tech orders replacement for every part except the motor. After another long wait for the repair appointment, they put in all the new parts. Dryer runs a couple minutes, shuts down, no air coming out of the vent. He says its unrepairable, calls his boss to get approval for a new dryer, and says we are approved. Call the protection agreement center the next day to inquire about the process, and was told that in fact we are NOT approved. We have to go through 2 more appointments where a tech actually services the unit before we can get an approval. Dryer not safe to use at all, 2 1/2 week wait for another troubleshooting tech appointment, then well have to wait for more parts, another service call, repeat. At this rate it could take 2 months to jump through enough hoops to get a replacement dryer, because I have no faith the problem can actually BE fixed. Im schlepping to a laundromat in the meantime, and Sears home repair has now spent more money than what a new dryer costs attempting to repair it, and this once former happy Kenmore appliance owner will never buy anything from Sears again. This is how you bankrupt a company.

Do not use this company. They do not value their customers. Waited all afternoon no show called several times keep saying their coming then after another hour goes by the tech calls and says he’s not coming. They overbooked him. Why were we not notified?? When I called to complain they wanted to sell me a home warranty policy. Unbelievable!!

All i wanted to do is see if they repair lawn mowers at my local Sears. It took 15 minutes to get through the automated systems to talk with someone. Then they tell me the local repair site is in California - I live in Ohio. The automated system is terrible.

I am in the process of using Sears Home Services for an appliance repair and it is one of the most frustrating experiences I have had as a home owner. The tech marked me as declining a quote and I spend 3 weeks trying to get the quote through the “national” call center but with no success. Was told I would have to pay for another service visit where the tech can stand in my house, order parts, and leave, even though I ASKED for a quote when he was there and was told I would receive it via email. The managers at the national call center told me nothing could be done. With a normal repair service, you would be able to call and get the quote easily, but not so with Sears. The problem here is that it seems nearly impossible to speak directly with local branches directly so if problems come up you are stuck having to pay twice for another tech to come out. It is very inefficient and nonsensical. I would recommend sticking with a local repair service instead of a big bureaucracy like Sears Home Serviecs.
