In 2005 Moore installed HVAC system followed by tankless water heater.I used Moore throughout the years for maintenance and repairs. We had no hot water every month, 3 weeks, 3 weeks. Moore put in additional water filter and additional other unnecessary item that didnt solve the problem. I called Mfr. and found it is a setting inside the WH. Tech came out and had to call Mfr. to be walked though the settings. All okay after. Moore wouldnt reimburse for all the experiments he tried and didnt work.Tankless WH was supposed to last 20 years. It rusted out in 10 years. I had to buy a different brand from Moore that used non-rusting elements inside. In 10 years of maintenance, no one said I see some rusting inside.A/C maintenance became a yearly replacement of capacitors costing about $400 each year for one capacitor. The labor cost $200 for a 15 min. replacement while the panel is open removing 3 screws, uncoupling the capacitor wires replacing the capacitor, recoupling the wires and screwing back 3 screws.I asked Moore for a quote for a Generac Generator. The estimator gave me a contract that I didnt sign. It was for .75 to 2 x more than other quotes. I had it installed for .5 the quote from Moore. I reported him to the CSLB. They told him to change his contract to comply with the State. Mr. Moore, I know you look at these reviews. I gave one like this on Yelp.Say what you want. You are disrespectful, you have no empathy, you are greedy. You staff is friendly, but your are antagonistic.

I really wanted to write a 5 star review, but this isnt that review. Suffice to say there was plenty of reason to see why some have truly great experiences with Moore. A lot of ours fell into that. That said, communication - particularly once the main install part of our work was done - was beyond abysmal. I was left with a impression of people that have great smiles and do great work, but are not dependable. If it isnt the big commitment, it would seem to be noise and fall off the radar.Super nutshell version: Great people, probably all well intended, but communication before the install was OK, and communication post install - including for commitments made but not yet completed - is essentially non-existent. The install portion of our overall work was rock solid subject to one significant communication issue. If you asked us on the last installation day our rating, it would have been 5 stars. It dropped to three based on what didnt happen from then on (non-install work is part of the equation, promises to follow up and then is most of the rest).Synopsis version:The Pros:The people are all great. Extremely friendly - literally every one of them.The installation work was tidy, done on time, and they cleaned up afterward.The Cons:The Consult we received seemed good at the time, but was functionally never finished. It was supposed to provide a list of specific recommendations and a quote to address them and was due to be received in 2-3 days. Were approaching 2 months and, with multiple follow ups on our part, dont have it and do not expect to ever receive it.We had an expected issue with line of sight to one of the ductless heads for the new heat pump. No knock at face value, but the issue was substantially worse than expected, and the communication around that was essentially non-existent. Instead of You have to hold the remote up high, it became You have to hold it up high while on the top of a ladder. We had a solution planned that solved both cases, so this didnt have to be a big deal. Unfortunately, there was no indication that it had went from Important to do to System is functionally unusable until you do it without so much as a word spoken about it. Its solved, but it was one of several communication misses. I discovered it when I went to turn on the unit in there and had to go fish a tall step ladder out to do it.We followed up on both of the above cons about two weeks post install. I received a response that varied between what amounts to Your fault not ours (my words, not theirs, but thats what it amounted to) and Ill have to look into that since we dont do that kind of work anymore (the kind of work they were late estimating for us). We provided requested feedback a few weeks after that and got an email from Steve Moore the next morning saying he thought there was still room for communication. OK, I responded indicating that I wasnt sure whether there was anything to discuss if they didnt do the work anymore and the other issue we had already resolved, but that open to that if he thought it would be a productive use of both our time, and provided two time windows I could be available. No reply. I followed up again a week later to see if he was still interested in that chat - again, no reply. I guess he wasnt... ;)The Neutral:The jury is still out on the design. The most core item being addressed seems to be doing great. The question mark is elsewhere and is based on things Ive learned since the install. I dont pretend to be an expert and knowing for sure will take both more information and some time, so dont treat that one as good or bad - just unknown)

We got our heat pump/furnace installed about 3 weeks ago. On day one it was not working properly since the wrong part was installed. Who doesnt check parts before its installed? The crew left handprints on our wall, doors and staircase, they were NOT wearing gloves when I was reassured they would wear gloves. They chipped a part of our closet door and stained our pavers in the backyard. Paul let the oil spill all over the pavers and when confronted he was nonchalant about it, which is quite unprofessional. Once I received the bill it was incorrect and they were charging us $500 more than what we signed on the contract.Kevin did try to make things right as best he can, though Brooke is in charge of scheduling and trying to get our pavers cleaned up. She has not offered to fix our closet door. Now, we are about 3 weeks out and we still do not have an ETA of when Craig (Bates Clean and Seal) is coming out to look at the pavers, let alone a date on when it will be cleaned. The last time I spoke to Brooke, it sounded like she forgot about scheduling him to come out. We are still missing 2 vent grills that was delayed due to covid.The company is BBB and Diamond certified, and we went with them because of their service and expertise though that has not been our experience. Not all of their technicians are NATE certified, and only 80% needs to be certified. This whole experience has been a disappointment and we are still waiting for Moore Mechanical to make things right. If it wasnt for Kevin and for the Carrier system, I would have given them 1 star.

Overall they provided a very good product and service at a fair price. I was pleasantly surprised when they contacted me to say I had a free inspection due to my recently installed split system, something I was not aware of but was apparently included with the purchase of the original install. I agreed and a date was set. I was told the technician would arrive between 8 and 12 that morning, and I would receive a notice when the technician was on the way. I waited all morning, no notice, and no technician. Finally he arrived mid afternoon, I did not receive a text nor a phone call alerting me that he was on the way. He did his job and left. He seemed thorough and professional. Before he left I asked if he needed me to sign anything. He said No. So, I signed nothing in regard to his visit.I did not score 5 stars for the following reason; At the end of the day I checked my email account and found an email posted that afternoon from Moore Mechanical saying the technician was on his way. Unlike some people who have their noses stuck in a device all day 24/7, I do not. I have better things to do other than constantly monitor my computer for emails. I check emails first thing in the morning, and again after dinner. I go about my day doing more productive things. In this case I was expecting a telephone call alerting me the technician was on his way, not an email notice. So, in that regard there was a breakdown in communication as to when the technician was going to show up.Last; Moore Mechanical sent me an invoice by email as a result of this inspection visit. It showed a $179.00 service was performed for free. Okay! At least I received in writing that I owed nothing for this inspection. The invoice included more than one page of legalese describing contractors licensing laws, and language stating that I understand these laws and inspected the technicians work at the conclusion of his visit. The form said I agree the technician did all service and repairs in a correct and professional manner. I then see what appears to be my signature at the bottom of these documents, dated the same day as the inspection.For the record I did not sign that form. It appears to be an electronic signature transposed from some other document I may have previously signed years ago back when I first purchased the install. I dont necessarily disagree with anything stated in the recent invoice documents, but I did not sign anything for the technician, nor on line, as part of this free service offered by Moore Mechanical.Im not saying that I dont appreciate the free follow up inspection to their equipment and work... I Do! What Im saying is that is not my signature on their invoice. I did not watch the technician every minute as he went about doing his task. He spent about a half hour, inside and out, doing whatever he was doing. For all I know he could have been eating his lunch. I had faith he was doing what he was supposed to do, but did not watch him do it.I will definitely use, and recommend Moore Mechanical in the future. I feel they are a good company, and did a good install of a good product for me. I do suggest to them they use a different notification system to alert customers the technician is on the way, and to acquire a real customer signature at the time of service when documents need to be signed.

AC unit stopped working so I called Moore Mechanical to determine what was wrong. Jesse their technician very quickly identified the problem and advised me of the problem and the cost to make the repairs. He had all the parts and got right on it. A few minutes later we were up and running. He continued to check the unit and recommended one more change which he told me up front the cost and added another part. Had a great experience with the technician, Jesse, that came out. He was clean, thorough, and answered all questions truthfully without trying to upsell. I particularly liked the fact that dispatch sent a picture with his name and estimated time of arrival prior to him showing up. Moore Mechanical does the preventative maintenance in our two condo units. Both the office staff and the technicians are very professional, responsive and customer-focused. The company uses technology to keep you informed about when the technician will arrive and about any follow-up information. We just had a COVID contact-less visit to deal with an A/C issue: the tech arrived early (with warning), did the job quickly, described our options before taking action and let us know what we should be watching for in the future. They came out today just for maintenance and an air purifier upgrade.The pricing is fair and Jesse was honest, upfront, polite and got along quite well with my husky.If you want quality work, call them.Just as an aside, the city permit inspector whom signed off on the new furnace asked who did the work. My first experience with this company in 2017 was great, and at the time I would have recommended them to anybody. They came out again this year, however, and things didn’t go as well. I had purchased their service agreement, where they come out twice a year to service the AC and furnace unit. It was working flawlessly, and when the tech came out for the annual service he found a capacitor on the blower motor that was outside of specs. I recognize capacitors can degrade over time, so I had him replace it. I was happy with the cost of the service agreement and the cost of the repair. The prices were competitive.The technician completed the work, but about three hours after he left the blower motor stopped working. Keep in mind it worked flawlessly before he changed the capacitor. That was on a Friday, so on Monday I called them back and the same tech responded that same day. He acknowledged the motor was working slower than normal and he had to reset it (whatever that means), but on the invoice he indicated there was no problem found and the company charged a $69 trip fee.In my book, that should have been warranty work with no extra charge. I don’t shop around for the cheapest rate, but I want honest work for a fair price. It’s unbelievable they would charge a trip fee to fix something that was likely caused by their technician. I paid the fee, but for $69 they just lost a customer.

I recently had Moore Mechanical replace my two gas furnaces. Vince Meyer was very helpful in helping me correctly size and choose the appropriate systems. He was responsive to my nearly endless questions. They also help me select whole house air purifiers and installed them simultaneously. The crew that installed the systems worked very hard under less than ideal circumstances. It rained constantly and the crawl space was a muddy mess. They were neat and clean and left my house in great condition. I enjoyed having them in my house ( how often does that happen?) Finally, they were very competitive on price. I highly recommend them.

The service techs from Moore Mechanical have always been in top of things. Ive used them for a Carrier system that always seemed to boggle techs from other companies. But Moore Mech zipped through the system and went so far as to rewire parts of the unit that the original installer (Sears) had not done properly. The most current service done (new house, different system) and the same professional service. I always make Moore Mechanical my go-to service company for heating and AC needs.

They know their stuff very, very well. Kevin Bradley and team did an amazing job installing whole house humidifier at our place. Kevin did a thorough walk through, suggested us the right humidifier, the team installed it very, very professionally. They made sure everything worked perfectly with our two Nest thermostats, thoroughly tested the entire system. They even stopped by later to do adjustments and fine tuning. Last but not the least, they charge a very very fair price for the kind of quality work they do. We shopped around and interviewed a few HVAC companies before hiring them; no one even came close in terms of the knowledge and professionalism. I would highly recommend them for any HVAC work you may need. They are very honest and very reliable.
