Thank goodness for Susan Helmich who has been my *only* jeweler for several years now. When I found her, I had pretty much given up hope of ever being able to wear a pair of earrings Id paid dearly for 15 years earlier. ~ Because of their weight, my pierced-post earrings would bend my earlobes backward and, well, my gorgeous earrings just looked stupid on my ears. ~ I took them to other independent fine jewelers in Old Colorado City, on Powers, on Academy, on N. Nevada and, in Monument. All of them kind of, sort of knew what the problem was and had ideas on what *might* work: repositioning the posts or putting them on wires. And none were confident enough for me to feel ok about spending my coin with them. ~ *Then* I found Susan Helmich. She studied the problem by looking at the earrings in my ears, putting them in her own ears, and sketching a few designs before deciding we needed to add a support bar on the back of each earring. Voila! I am finally, happily wearing those expensive earrings. ~ Since then Ive been back to Susan for other repairs.
