This place was simply great, I drove past it often on my way to work and I have an older house that has screens original to the house. They were advertising a screen replacement sale so I figured it wouldnt hurt to stop by. The prices were very reasonable and the work was done quite quickly. I brought the worst ones in and got them back in about a week so I brought the rest in when I was picking up the first ones. Everyone there was very nice and I could see why they were BBB approved.

Pickens had the exact part I needed for my screen door. They are open Saturdays 9:00 - noon. Google is full of beans!

A year ago, this company repaired a couple of my windows, and I was very happy. It was pricey, but the repair was solid. When another window needed repair, a month ago, I called them back. I waited patiently for 4 weeks for my appointment to arrive, and no one called to let me know they were coming, as I was told they would. When I called to ask what time they would be arriving, the person on the phone immediately took a defensive stance, reciting the procedures (which I already knew), without letting me speak. After being put on hold, I was told that they didnt have a ticket for my repair. This, despite the fact that I had a job # that they had given me when I made the appointment. The best they offered me was to wait another 10 days for my repair. I might have gone along with this plan except for the fact that the general attitude of the person on the phone was that I had done something wrong. This company charges way too much money to treat customers--especially returning ones--this way. No thanks. Theres other repair companies.

Very disappointed...basically the agent told me to bring my old latch in because the have millions of parts. Ive walked in many times before and told them what wanted and they walk back and get it. I got the impression they just want to deal with it. God forbid you would have to look for something to satisfy your customers!!!!!

If you looking for window parts that you would definitely not fine at Home Depot or Lowes you must visit Pickens Window Service. I look forward to my next client thinking I cant find the part for their Windows when I have this company as a Ace in the Hole .

Had a service call to look at glass insert on front entry door. I had to pay over $100 just to have them come out and look at the door. It took 1 Month to get and estimate. The estimate: $1,050.00!!! Had to call 2x to get someone even to call me back. Definitely do not recommend using them.

Only place in town that would install a warranted arch window that I received from the Co that manufactered the windows in our 16 year old home. No one else we called would touch it, they wanted to sell me new windows. Scheduled appointment with no hassle, the Techs showed as promised and installed the new arch window in 55 minutes. These guys know there business and didnt waste anytime. Not the cheapest place in town but you get what you pay for! Excellent job, and thank you for the great service!

Had 2 vinyl windows that would not open. From the moment I contacted this company it was a positive experience. The representative on the phone was polite, helpful and knowledgeable enough to determine the type of repair that may be needed for our type of windows. They gave us a two hour window for our scheduled repair. Our repairman, Thomas, arrived promptly within the 2 hour window. We are undergoing a complete home renovation so I had quite a few questions for Thomas regarding the type of windows we have, their functionality & possible longevity. Thomas was extremely professional, knowledgeable, precise and patient. Not only did he repair both windows to full function, he actually demonstrated how we could perform a couple maintenance items ourselves to prevent any more windows from breaking and requiring repair. In our book, thats superior service!!

I needed the rollers replaced on my sliding patio door. I could not get it repaired going handyman and home advisor. I only received responses to replace the patio door. I talked to a gentleman on the who advised of the cost involved. The repair was done on time and for what I was quoted. The people doing the work were polite and respectful. I will use this company again. Great service.

If you need parts for a window or screen repair, this place has what you need they have an incredible inventory of parts for windows of all ages. They have been around forever (a testimony to their stock of parts and have a very knowledgeable staff. A local gem for DYI’ers. I can’t speak to their home service work as I’ve just gotten parts here.

So nice to still have a local shop that stocks the part I need. The staff was very helpful.

Great place for window and door parts. I travel about 25 miles to get there because I know they will have what I need. Great people there with great attitudes!

Never, ever, EVER use this company.We have been working with them for well over a year, trying to arrange a simple repair of two standard, double-hung windows. They do not return phone calls or follow up when they say they will. There is a frequent turnover of staff; weve worked with four different employees now, and at least two of the first three no longer work there.At one point, after about eight months, they actually sent out a repair person with our replacement window parts. Turns out the parts they sent had literally nothing to do with our windows. They werent a near miss -- they were the wrong category of item. So they took additional parts from our windows, for new samples. Fast-forward another six months, and they cant even commit to returning the original parts theyve removed from our windows.I seriously wonder whether this is a fake company. Everyone is very friendly and agreeable when you do manage to reach them on the phone; again and again, I am charmed into believing they actually are working to complete this simple window repair. Again and again, no one follows up with me, and no progress is made. Weve long since entered the realm of the absurd.I will update this review with additional information if they ever manage to return our original window parts or do anything to remedy the situation.

We had a large older casement window that had rotted. They went to great lengths to help locate the original company and order a replacement. We saved a sizable amount of money because we didnt have to remove the entire window and frame. It took a month but it was worth the wait. We have used this company in the past 30 years for various window and screen repair and have always had good results.

Very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful service from Terri. Larry (and Bev) did a great job with my screens which were very old. Reasonable pricing for replacement with lots of options and very quick turn around. Highly recommend!!

Excellent Service. I had 10 Pella casement windows that had never closed correctly. The tech came to my home and within an hour had repaired the windows. No one from Pella was able to repair the problems. I will always call Pickens for our window and door needs.

We were selling our house and had to get parts of our screened in patio fixed as part of the inspection request. We called Pickens to come out and give us an estimate ($59). They came out later than they initially said, and gave us a pretty high ballpark price. They came on a Wednesday and said that they would get the estimate to us by the end of the week. By the following Thursday, I called and asked if I could get my money back since it had taken so long and we were in a rush. They said our money was non-refundable, but said the estimate was ready (nice of them to call and tell us). The estimate they gave us was EXTREMELY high - double the estimate from another company (that had free estimates...) The lady on the phone was not friendly at all.I would not recommend this place to anyone.

I have an old apartment building in Florida and was really stuck with many broken window crank assemblies that no-one in the whole state could or would fix. With Pickens expert service to help me identify the parts and repair guidance with tips, I was able to have the windows fixed. This saved me from having to replace windows in the entire building (otherwise it would look terribly inconsistent). We passed our rental building inspection without any problems and tenants were not inconvenienced by entire window replacements.

If you ever need a window rescreened Pickens is the place. They do an excellent job! And the prices are reasonable to! They also have free parking in the rear lot.

Was referred to this company for glass work and window balances. Paid a $59 service fee to have them come out and measure windows and balances. Was told originally by phone that this wouldnt be the case. Nevertheless its been over a week and a half and still no quote. They didnt hesitate to cash the check for the service fee but not even a phone call letting me know they are still working on the quote. I chalked it up to a lesson learned with this company. Stay away and save yourself the headache. There are far too many other companies out there that are honest, straight forward and legit. Theres a reason their reviews are the way they are.

Dont bother. Had them out to get a quote for window sash repair (2.5 months ago) and never received the quote despite calling to follow up several times. Out $60 for the service call with no quote.

If you need replacement parts for windows of all types this place has one of the most diverse inventories in at least a 500 mile radius. But remember, they cant help you if you dont bring the part that you need with you.

Had a positive experience with Pickens; good communication from friendly staff, timely completion of the work, and a better price than my other bid. Note that there is a $55 trip charge that they should more clearly disclose over the phone.

Local shop in my Mt Healthy neighborhood. Needed to have patio door re-screened. I walk in with the door in hand, it obviously needs this simple repair. Lady rushes from behind the counter asking can I help you? . Dazed by such a reception, I could only muster a finger pointing to the item needing repair. Three weeks to repair she replies. Clearly not wanting anything to do with me. I thanked her and left without a backwards glance.

This business deserves ZERO stars from my business. VERY LONG TIME AGO I requested to quote 15 screens for the casement precise sizes windows. Specified that all screens to be white frame and white aluminum mesh. Received a quote yesterday for 29 FIBERGLASS SCREENS priced OUTRAGEOUSLY. More expensive than my Pella windows. Retarded customer service. And possibly retarded techs who will come and measure your windows for screen manufacturing and...... (quote from their website) Should I measure the screens, take a sample to the shop or pay to have one of their people come out and measure (the measuring is free, you are actually paying for insurance that the screens will fit). Why customers must pay for the insurance that the screens will fit? So, you get the idea who you are going to deal with when you call this company.

I had a very disappointing interaction with this company over the last week and a half. A repair-man from the company came to my home and took parts off my windows stating he was going to see if he could replace them. He never called me, and I called the company twice last week and left messages that were never returned. Finally I called a third time today and someone happened to answer the phone. After a back and forth of messages, it turns out the person I spoke with at the end of the day accused me of lying. He said I had never called. So funny. If that made any sense and would be of any advantage to me, I could understand the accusation. Id just stay away from the company if I were you. Note all the other negative reviews. My mistake for trying them out and not reading these bad reviews first! Oh, and I still dont have my parts back. He took them and has not returned them. Ill update about that later.

I have done business with this family owned business for over 29 years and never have I had a bad experience or poor service. Their over the counter service for hard to find window parts is unlike any other. I would highly recommend them.

I went schedule a consultation with Pickens a week ago. The timeframe was not ideal for me. They told me that once they came out and looked at the window they would not be able to give me a quote for four weeks. Then assuming I like the quote it would take four months for it to be completed. I decided to go ahead and schedule it but then told the person I was working with their that I’m not sure of the timeframe would work because I’m about to put the house up on the market, at which point they asked me where it was at (College Hill), To which the woman assisting the receptionist said “good luck selling that”. Good rule of thumb if I’m contacting you to give you my money, please don’t feel the need to needlessly insult me. If I’m not going to be able to sell the house I might as will not make the repair. Game on my realtor has instructed me we should be able to sell the house no problem and I’ll just go with a company that has more realistic time frames and better customer service.Honestly, I don’t think this lady thought she was being rude, but she definitely needs to be more self-aware. Huge turn off

Don’t have this company work on your old windows. Their prices are EXORBITANT (as many reviewers have written), and, in my case, neither of their fixes worked for long. And on the phone they told me they’ll only stand by their work for 30 days! I’ll never use them on my Colonial home again.

Millions of parts, good prices for cut to fit replacement glass, great service!

Charged me $59 service fee to come measure a a double hung and skylight window, only to tell the person I had arranged to meet them they dont do skylights. This was very clear when I scheduled, so we felt like wed been tricked, and then had to scramble to get the job done on time by someone else (he measured same day, no measuring fee, windows in 1 week later). Then, they wouldnt apply this service fee toward an estimate for our new house with 40+ windows. I thought that would be a no-brainer in customer service. Very, very rude on the phone - I felt like I was being Punked! I couldnt believe how they kept arguing with me, even saying I had lied at one point. It was so unprofessional. I have literally never written a bad review before but this was a horrible experience in customer service. Im normally very patient and feel so upset about how I was treated on the phone. I guess well never know how their windows are...
