From the moment the sales guy showed up, to the installer coming back to pickup the remaining debris this company has great people. They provided a no hassle sales pitch (Brian), a top quality product at a reasonable price. Due to the pandemic the install was delayed, but it was communicated before I purchased the windows / rear doors. I also negotiated the price before purchasing, which I really dont like to do, but it was a decent amount of money to spend on 21 windows and 2 doors. The installers (Jeff, Jason, and Jason) were extremely nice, professional, helpful, and good at their job! They didnt cut any corners or make an excuses, they did a fabulous & quick job. After the install, they showed me how to clean, open, and lock the windows. They accepted two different forms of payment without any questions. Overall, I would highly recommend this company and their product to others who are looking to replace their windows or doors.

I am very pleased to provide an outstanding review about my Gilkey window and door experience. I had a custom patio door with a transom window installed. My experience was positive from the scheduling of my sales appointment to meeting with Jason, the sales professional. He was professional, knowledgable, focused on a quality solution and offered a competitive price. After our appointment, he responded to my questions in a timely manner. Prior to installation, I was called to schedule my installation, and a reminder call was made prior to the installation date.I cannot write enough praise for my installation crew. Mike and Hoff were timely, neat and professional. They encountered a problem with the existing door frame being bowed when the removed the old door. It required a lot of time and creative problem solving to make sure the new door would fit. They built a new wood frame and encased it with a covering product - all done out of the back of their truck! It required an extra day of work and I was not asked to pay more. Fabulous finished product! The appearance and functionality absolutely added more to the value of my home than the cost. I highly recommend Gilkey!

We had all (11) new windows custom replaced in our sunroom. We had 30+ year old wood casements, now have new casements laminated on both sides to match both inside & outside decor. The coil finish work on the outside was excellent as well. The installers were professional, clean, online & courteous. Everything was professional from the start with sales to install. They are friendly like a good neighbor not a pushy salesman!! They offered genuine recommendations/ suggestions that we were grateful for and from the beginning worked quickly to estimate and measure. Their estimate for install was correct and completed in a day! Our old windows SUCKED and each shattered glass everywhere, but the installer took the time to dillegintly sweep the carpets so no glass could be found for the wild toddler zipping around. Our windows are beautiful, were reasonably priced, and I highly recommend Gilkey!

We picked gilkey after getting estimates from other window companies because we thought they were the best windows for us. I have no complaints about the windows themselves, they seem to be made well and the price was comparable to the others. My problem is when they were installed there were a few things that we found not right. I called them to ask about someone coming out to fix the problems. I was told I would have to wait 30 days before anyone can come out to take a look. It wasnt an emergency, so I was willing to wait. During the 30 days we had some nice weather, so we opened the windows to let some fresh air in. What we got was a house full of flies. The screens were not put in correctly and the flies found that an invitation to come in. I killed flies for days, , there were flies everywhere. When I found out where they were coming in the screens, I tried to fix the screens myself and they just fell out so I immediately closed the windows and called gilkey . I was told once again that no one could come out to fix the problem and I still had my original appointment scheduled had had to wait 2 weeks. I got a phone call the morning of my scheduled appointment and was told no one was able to come out and someone would call me Monday to reschedule. The windows are great, but the customer service sucks. Wish I went with someone else for my window replacement.

We had a bay window installed. Delivery and installation were on time and the installers were also on time on the appointed day and time. The installation was very professionally accomplished by Charlie and Brent. There was a hole in one of the screens so it will be repaired and returned. The metal in between the glass was some what distorted and that will be replaced. This just a minor aesthetic rather than a functional matter. All in all, we have a beautiful new bay window.

They arrived on time, they did a very good job very professional, I was told by the salesman they would have all four windows done in about four hours maybe a little more. Well the installers did the work and was out at 3 1/2 hours. They were very polite very professional very helpful. If I had to do it all over again I would definitely use Gilkey windows. We had new windows installed late November 2020. Immediately after, a persistent dripping noise occurs at our bedroom window any time it rains. Never ever hearing this noise before, we are highly suspect its the new window, somethings not right. Anytime weve called Gilkey to service this issue, nobody is available, they wont come unless its actively raining/ making the noise, or we dont even get a call back. It often happens at night, on weekends, holidays, and we cannot predict the weather on a day that is convenient for Gilkey to be available. We cannot sleep in our room, the noise is so loud and disturbing. Now that its making the noise during a business day, nobody is available yet again, and were told itll be a whole week before someone will come to look at it, rain or shine, and maybe they can get a technician to come along. Weve been dealing with this for over 3 months, calling and waiting for someone to be available, for the weather to be just right... Im tired of waiting. Maybe this review will motivate action in a more timely manner. There has to be a better solution than waiting for rain at a time that is convenient for Gilkey. We like the windows, we just cant get a timely response after the fact when theres a problem.

I am not happy that the glass part of the patio door does not open as wide as the screen?? Makes for a narrow entry. Why is that. Otherwise everything is great but that issue is problematic.

I bought a house 3 years ago that already had Gilkey Replacement Windows. Come to find out, they were installed in 1997. Well long story short, I have 3 windows that the tilting mechanism (Clips that lock the window in place) have broken off on one side. No problem for The Gilkey Window Company. Offered to send them out to me free of charge, I didnt even have to pay for shipping. Quality Company, will not hesitate to use them for all future window needs.

We bought a new patio sliding door. From the initial contact for information to the completion of the installation they were truly professional. Their windows seem to be well made and highly rated. They were decently priced for the quality. And their salesperson was not a hard-sell person, which I appreciated. All of that is why I chose them. But two or more of their people screwed up our order. I had specifically asked them to make a window that would fit the window a/c unit that I already had. It was clearly specified on the order ! Yet on installation day, they showed up with a window that didnt match the specs ! They had to put in a new order to remake it. They came back over a month later to reinstall it. In the meantime, I had to buy an additional inefficient portable a/c unit that I didnt want, so that mom could have a/c. ... The following are updated comments to my original review. At first they didnt seem to care that this inconvenience was an issue when I called them about it. But after I called them out in this review, they did reimburse the cost of the additional portable a/c unit I had to buy. I gave them an additional star in my rating, now. But there is now an issue with one of the windows not sealing out the cold air which I need to address with them. Hence not a full 5 stars .

We have a 1930s home and were looking to replace our original windows. A friend worked with Gilkey for windows in their late 1800s home had a wonderful experience, which is why we went with them. Our priorities were maintaining the historical look of the home, increasing energy efficiency, and sustainability (life-time product).Scot Johnson was our sales rep and walked us through the options, process, and pricing. A few weeks later, a measuring team came out to ensure that the custom windows were made to fit and that we were on the same page regarding case size. At this point, an adjustment to the order was needed to accommodate the historical look of the home, and their team could not have been more responsive. In line with the quoted schedule, the installation team arrived about 6 weeks later and was professional and timely. They protected the interior spaces and left the site as found. They were thoughtful in their approach to the details.We are thrilled with our new windows! Originally, we were very concerned that the house would lose some of its historic charm, but through this process, and largely due to the quality of the windows and installation, we feel like it has been enhanced. And added bonus, we already notice a difference in the noise level.

Gilkey replaced all nine windows in our house and the results have been dramatic. While the original windows were single-pane aluminum awning units and anything would have been an improvement, the new windows are beautiful, well installed, and have already made a dent in our energy bills. The prices were great and the turnaround time from measurement to delivery was quite a bit quicker than promised. Highly recommended!

Took 4 months due to the pandemic to get the door. Once a date and time were scheduled they let me know. The service had to be pushed back a week due to the key installer being ill and they did not want to risk it being a covid case which I appreciated but they arrived on time the day of the install and were very thorough and professional even took the time to look at our other door to see why it was not shutting properly without charge. Will definitely look to them for window replacement when time comes.

Six years ago I used them to replace all the ‘contractor grade’ windows and because they ARE the area’s best I used them again to replace a sliding glass door. Ordered and had 2 windows and 2 exterior doors installed. The actual products, the product quality, is top-notch. Also the installers, especially the older ones, were very skilled. Re: installation, my only beefs were stinginess with the foam expanding insulation, and the nails they used to reattach my trim - looked like just heavy wire, not real finishing nails. But my main issue was with one of the two windows. We were making these changes in part to increase light entry into a dark room. But the window was smaller than the hole by at least 1 and half inches. Granted, the older trim covered up some of this mismatch. But once you commit, and they come for final measurement, they should even remove trim if necessary in order to get accurate numbers (otherwise they are just replicating the same mistake from 50 years ago, passing it on for another 50!) The photo shows the gap between top of new window during installation, and the framing. When i pointed the mismatch out to the installer, he said they need some gap to ensure accommodation of the arriving product, plus a little for insulation. But I dont at all think they need 1.5 inches. Maybe half an inch. So that means it could have been an inch taller. If the window is 48 inches across, thats 48 square inches of light Im missing out on, every day for years to come. When I contacted the company, they said they could come look at it, and that Gilkey wants every job done right, and it aint finished till it is. But when folks have embarked on remodeling and are trying to wrap things up and decorate and get settled again, they last thing they want is to reorder, wait another 8 weeks, and have another tear-out and mess again. So I said I can live with this window, but would like some compensation for a good but far-from-perfect job (and loss of said light henceforth). My idea was for the company to just break even on this one window - to make a profit on the other 3 installations, but just break even on this one window, IOW, refund me the profit, me even trusting them to do their own figures. But Kevin the sales manager objected, saying youve got a functioning window. That answer, IMO, is something you would say to someone wanting an entire refund for the whole window, not just the profit. I was trying to have a win-win for me and them - after all, what would a complete redo of the window, with manufacturing cost and the returning labor, have cost them? A bundle, Im sure. So giving up just the profit to me seemed quite reasonable. But not to Kevin - he said in such situations they would typically give a gift card, to Krogers or somewhere, I could do 50 or 100 dollars. I didnt like that, but thought it better than nothing. So eventually such a card arrived, and, you guessed it, it was the lower of the two figures. I should have sent it back. $50 for the loss of 48 square inches of outdoor light every minute of every day for years to come. You can make your own decision, but here is my grading: Gilkey product manufacturers: A+ , installers: A , preliminary measurers: C , office customer service: D- . Overall therefore, B .

The patio door is amazing! It keeps out the cold and has helped keep my kitchen at a constant, comfortable temperature. I could see a difference on my heating bill the first month. The locking mechanism is sound and the footlock is a great plus for leaving the door slightly open for a small breeze on nice days. Everyone was so welcoming from the start, treating me like family. More than 30 years ago we shopped for replacement windows and chose Gilkey. We were very impressed with the installation and quality of the windows. The quality of the service when we needed it was excellent also. When we decided we needed a new sliding glass door and Gilkey was the first and only call we made. The salesman came and took the measurements and gave us a quote. We were able to customize the look and features of the door. When the door was ready, they called and made an appointment for installation. The installers arrived on time and in less than 3 hours our new door was installed and my family room was left looking cleaner than when they arrived! Just had a sales rep from Gilkey out to give me an estimate to replace 14 double hung and 1 picture window. To provide full transparency, I told the rep who his competition was. He spent the next 30 minutes tearing the competition apart, bad mouthing them and very little time positioning Gilkey Windows - he just kept on challenging me why on earth I would consider another replacement window company other than Gilkey. TOTALLY unprofessional. It got me so upset, I just told him he could leave, no need to provide the estimate he was there to provide. Everything I had read about Gilkey was positive and thats why we wanted them to come out and take a look at our project - all I can say today is if you have them come out, DO NOT tell them who their competition is.

We are thrilled with the purchase of our sliding patio door from Gilkey. From start to finish the process was flawless. No pressure sales, great customer service, wonderful job on the install and professionalism the whole way through. Had gotten a quote from Anderson prior and was not impressed.. pushy salesman and over priced products. Very pleased that we chose Gilkey. Would recommend to anyone and would use them again!

The guys showed up on time each day and got to work right away. They were friendly and professional. The windows look amazing and they were able to troubleshoot problems we had with the outside of our house. We love our new windows so much!

From the moment that I spoke with Brian Schamel at the Cincinnati home and garden show, I knew that there was no reason to look elsewhere. He came to house and gave us his presentation and made us feel like we’ve been friends for a long time. He took the time to listen to all of our request and followed through with all of them. During this time of covid-19 I had to cancel the installation at the last minute because of my job. It was not a problem and they worked with us to hold off for a couple weeks. The father and son (sorry I don’t remember your names) were awesome!!!! They were very prompt, neat, and very professional. As I am in the customer service business they were amazing. Would highly recommend this company as well as Brian and the set up crew!!!!

Wonderful experience from start to finish! Brad Gerbus met with us for our consultation - he was very thorough, knowledgeable, professional, and pleasant to speak with. He explained and compared the Gilkey product, warranty, manufacturing, and installing process with samples and demonstrations. He even invited us to the showroom to see for ourselves! There are also financing options that made this investment possible for us.Nathan took precise measurements, answered all our questions about the dimensions of the living room picture window, and submitted our order. Before we knew it, we received a call to schedule the installation! Richard and Brian arrived on time - they were pleasant, professional, and very efficient. We are now very proud owners of a home with Gilkey windows! We will recommend Gilkey Windows to everyone!

I couldn’t be more pleased... with the product, the punctuality of the crews, as well as their professionalism, helpfulness, and cleanliness.It’s amazing that 11 old windows and a patio door were replaced yesterday in 8 hours.I had issues removing 3 large blinds myself.... not a problem... they took care of it (and put them back up). There was one large section of plaster that chunked off one window well... it’s all plastered like new.Looking forward to the next warm, breezy day so I can open all my new windows.... and not have to use a brick to keep some of them open! :)

Great product and service! Loved working with everyone. Everyone I came in contact with was very friendly and worked with my schedule. I loved the late hours they offered for a consultation. Installation was a breeze and the guys were great! Most importantly the door looks fantastic, and was one of the best purchases we have made. Great quality, no complaints here!

This is our second home to get new Gilkey Windows. We loved the windows in the old house but just a few short years later they have made them even better. They are easier for cleaning and just to get air in. They look better as well. The locks are rounded and streamlined if that makes sense. We are very happy with our windows. Thank you Gilkey.

Love my new sliding patio door. Installers John and Mark were prompt and worked as quickly as possible to get the new door installed despite the cold weather. They were courteous and tidy and answered all my questions. The new door with key entry is beautiful and makes the room look larger. I will always call Gilkey for windows and doors. I’d like to start out saying the crew was polite and professional and the windows are good quality and an affordable price.That said, I have a real problem with the sliding patio door off the kitchen. It’s unacceptably difficult to open and hard to close. A child or older adult could not do it. The installer said the seals might need to wear in a bit. It has been over a month now for a door we use constantly with no change. I’m going to call Gillkey and lodge a formal complaint as I think that I’ve given ample time for the issue to resolve itself.

We have used Gilkey several times over the past 8 years to replace windows as the original ones from the builder lose their integrity. From the sales process all the way through installation we consistently are pleased with the product and the level of service provided. The windows are great quality and very energy efficient.

Excellent quality professional installationonly reason i didn’t give 5 stars is that there was absolutely no follow up- after a whole house window and multiple sliding door installation Gilkey never called for follow up 😕

When I changed my mind of the style of door Bryan came back without hesitation and we reworked the design.Was incredibly impressed with how soon my doors were completeThe install guys could not have been more professional and courteous. Their work relationship was the best I’ve ever encountered. The clean up was great. My only clean up is the dust in the air that landed on other surfaces which is to be expected. There were no surprises as you sometimes encounter with such a big project.I would highly recommend Gilkey to anyone.

My experience with Gilkey’s sales team was great. However, when the installers came to my house I was disappointed. They were not wearing masks (we are still in Covid), they did not clean the area fully after installing, they did not wipe my windows with Windex, they left dirty finger prints on my walls, and lastly they damaged my door jam casing.I would not recommend Gilkey.

This is the 3rd job weve had with Gilkey in the last 8 years.Salesman was not pushy and was upfront about cost. Installers were very picky about the installation... spent considerable time to make sure everything was perfect. Very impressive! Ill use them again...
