I lived here for one year 2019-2020. One of the worst rental experiences I have had in my ten years of renting. The rent is cheap for the area and the apartments are larger than most. However, the day we moved in it smelled like mold. I spent weeks trying to get rid of the smell. Our dishwasher quit working often. It took weeks to get maintenance out to fix it. We would call and they would say it wasn’t an emergency so they would get to it later. One night we did need emergency maintenance. Well we are still waiting for that call back in 2021…we literally just dealt with it ourselves because they never responded. The bathroom wall caved in at one point. That wasn’t considered an emergency either and we sat with a whole in our wall for weeks. They never fully repainted it while we lived there. There are better apartments in the area. I would recommend looking elsewhere. Office staff was consistently rude and refused to do anything

My fiancé and I are trying to get a place in Chattanooga since we have to be out of our current housing before the end of the month (tomorrow). We were told if we got everything they requested to them that we would have a place to live. We just got the call that we are being denied after being told for almost 2 weeks we would be able to live there. Extremely disappointed, frustrated, and upset that we were promised a place to live to be turned away a day before we move out.

If you are looking at these apartments, please read this. It will be long, but I will try to provide the good and the bad of my particular experience, though the bad does seem to seriously outnumber the good. The good: Rent is cheap, and the size of the 1 bedroom apartment is better than most places in the area. The walk in closet is great, and the patio is really nice. Having a breakfast bar/ counter was a neat an unexpected addition, and the complex is in a great area with practically anything you could want within a 5 minute drive. Now, the bad...Ill list all of the general bad things, then go into some specifics on each. The office NEVER answers phone calls, the maintenance crew is slow to respond to any requests (including emergency repairs such as no heat or A/C!), the apartments are INFESTED with bugs, the office staff seem to be disorganized and disinterested in their renters, and despite the fact that they will sell you on the concrete walls and structures of the buildings, they are loud. The office never answering their phone has been an issue since day one. Literally the very first day I was moving in (from out of town and in another time zone), I attempted to call several different times to inform them that I might be pushing the office close time, and to please wait so I could get my keys and begin to move in. No answer. By luck, I made it about 20 minutes before the office closed. Despite all the extra time this had given them, the lady at the desk told me she forgot I was moving in that day and didnt have my lease or keys ready. After getting that squared away and moving everything in, I went to lock my door only to realize that THEY HAD GIVEN ME THE WRONG KEYS. My apartment keys would not lock my door. The office was closed, the emergency maintenance line didnt work, I was stuck. I wound up just having to by a new lock for my door.Of the 11 months I have lived at The Meridian, i have not had working heat or air for 7 of the months. I constantly put in work orders, called the office, called the emergency maintenance line, sent emails, tried to go by the office, all to no avail. The portal on the website to enter in maintenance requests may as well be a black hole for all the good it does to enter a work order request there. Over the winter months when it got bitingly cold and I had no heat, I had to contact a City Inspector who threatened to get the apartment condemned if it wasnt remedied to get any sort of fix. I still do not have working air conditioning, despite the fact that I have had a request to have it fixed for over a month this time. (Fun fact- it is illegal to not fix this issue when the temperature outside is 80 degrees or higher!) The only reason Im not getting the city Inspector again is because my lease ends in 3 weeks.Ive read other reviews that complain of rats and mice, which are not a problem Ive ever had. What I do have is an infestation of cockroaches. Im not a messy person. I do not leave dishes in my sink, I do not leave food out on my table. I do my best to keep my home clean. That does not stop these bugs. They come in from the walls, the shower, the sink, the floor boards, it seems like if you punched a hole youre liable to find a colony in the walls. They are everywhere. If my dog leaves a bit of kibble on the ground after eating, there will be literally dozens of them that will come out to get it. Regardless of how clean you are, you will feel dirty living in these apartments.I dont know if it is as big of an issue for others farther into the complex, but I am pretty close to Gunbarrel. These apartments are LOUD. You will hear the cars at all hours. The sirens are frequent.I know this has been an extensive read, but I hope Ive given you a decent idea of what living here COULD look like for you. If you decide to live here, I hope your experience is better than mine. My advice would be to spend the money elsewhere to find someplace you wont be sad to come back to and be forced to call a sad excuse for a home.

This is a well maintained apartment complex in a decent part of town. They have 3 appartment sizes available and are pet friendly. They offer a residential pool for tenants and all apartments have a porch/balcony area.I would definitely consider renting here because the pricing seems relatively reasonable for the area.

I am residing at this place since March 2020. Leasing office staff were friendly and welcoming before I moved in. Now they have become unfriendly and unprofessional.1) I went to their office at least 10 times to renew my lease during last October period. Each time I go, they say Manager is not here and come back later or tomorrow.2) I submitted a maintenance request 2 weeks ago for clogged sink and bath tub. There is no response until today. Now it become too worse and cant even use my washroom, still no response. I went to leasing office today afternoon to tell them in person, they said that maintenance people went for their lunch. I waited till the EOD, no one showed up here.Much worse than above things are, they talk on your back and laugh at you when you are walking back from their office. They need to treat tenants with due respect and professionalism.

Cheaply made although advertised to be “newly renovated” The maintenance crew never came to address multiple issues that came up (leaking bathtub faucet, fireplace not working, fireplace mantle falling off wall, etc.) Disruptive neighbors...once we got new downstairs neighbors our apartment became infested with cockroaches. We are really clean people and we could not get rid of them. Pest control never addressed this or the summer ant problem originating from the ceiling. We called to have them come out several times. We were forced to live amongst bugs the whole time we were there. The neighbors would fight often and one time the cops were called to address some civil dispute. Bad vibes all around. The guest toilet also had issues and ended up flooding the downstairs neighbors apartment when we weren’t even home. They had to call maintenance to go upstairs and shut our water off. We found this out from our neighbors since there was ZERO communication. Maintenance even threw away my bath mat without even telling anyone! We didn’t want to pay to break the lease so we voluntarily paid for double rent just so we could move into our new place sooner.

WARNING! Long post.If it were possible for me to RATE 0, I would definitely do so.Let me start with, I was referred to inquire at this property by a current resident. I was warned that the office staff is terrible, I repeat, TERRIBLE at answering the telephone, so a trip to the property may be necessary. I had the opportunity to view the townhome simply because I was invited by the resident living there. I was impressed with the layout of the townhome, the space, and the screened in porch area with semi-private space. So I applied. On the website, during application, there were units listed to apply for this was not a general application. I made appication to a specific unit and called into the office (more like stalked ) all day until someone answered the following day. It was confirmed, with office staff, that my application was received. Now here is the best part. She said it would be Tuesday or Wednesday of the following week before I get a response. Knowing that I had seen a rented unit, she allowed me to see the unit being renovated that was rented, however, she informed me that the unit I applied for was not showable at the moment. Fast forward, Tuesday I called multiple times and FINALLY someone answered. She said you have been approved and she tells me I have 5 days from approval to bring in deposit. During this call, she informs me that management wanted her to ask me if I were willing to accept another unit because they have an employee that wants to move into the unit I have applied for. I declined the offer. Wanting to remain applied for the unit I made application for. Have the employee go to the other unit. Well, ofcourse, the telephone tags begin to figure out when someone will be there. Friday of that week, I attempted to take the deposit but ofcourse no answer when trying to get the exact amount of the payment due. Friday afternoon, someone answered and she tells me she will be working tomorrow, Saturday, but come at 10 because they open1 hour later. Saturday comes, I get there at 10:15am. There are 3 other families there with 10am appointments and NO ONE, I REPEAT, ZERO persons in the office at the property. A current handicap resident comes to pay rent while I wait and ZILTCH. NADA. What kind of place is this? I wondered also. Well I finally leave after sitting almost an hour and no one showed up. Ofcourse NO ONE answered the numerous calls to the multiple numbers listed. Now, going into the next week Memorial Day is Monday and office is closed. Everyday must be a holiday at this place. Tuesday I called all day, finally the afternoon someone answers and she agreed that I can bring the payment for deposit. It takes me calling none stop for an entire week after the deposit for the shock of my life. So Wednesday of the following week now I call to see what is the progress for the remodel on the unit I have applied for. I am told that I will need to speak with the property manager. The phone goes dead and I have to call again. The property manager answers the phone EXTREMELY RUDE, and proceeds to ask why I need the manager. Maam I have no idea. She places me on hold and comes back to say, sorry but the apartment you applied for is rented. WHAT? Wait say that one more time. She repeats it has been rented. I have requested a call from her boss or the owner but no such luck. I was issued a refund for the deposit and application fee completely. LONG STORY SHORT.....IF you decide to take your chances on this unprofessional property, please know they will put you in whatever unit they want you to go into and not necessarily what you apply for. I have never dealt with this type of unprofessional, and tolerated by corporate, management ever. I work in management and this is UNACCEPTABLE! This owner also owns the Evergreen at Hickory Valley as well. Run and save yourself the headache and stress. Ive endured it for you already!

I would give them zero stars if I could. I first tried to contact this place in early May but no one ever answered the phone. I left messages that went unreturned. I wanted to start an application, but a review said to speak with someone to confirm availability before I do. I tried calling five more times on May 12th and finally got someone. I cannot recall her name but I asked about their 2 bedroom apartments, the application process, and my move in date of June 4th. She said, the application process takes a week and it usually takes us 2 weeks to get a unit ready, so, yeah, we can have you in a 2 bedroom apartment by June 4th. I said great and applied that day, paying the $50 fee.A week went by and I heard nothing, so I called and spoke with another woman who told me my application was still pending for some reason. She asked when I applied, I told her a week ago. She said shed check something and call me back. I called again a few days later and spoke with the same woman as the last time. I gave her my info again and inquired about my application for a 2 bedroom apartment that she said was still pending. She said, Who did you speak with when you called the first time? Because all our 2 bedroom apartments are being renovated and wont be ready until June 25th. I told her again what I was told and that I wouldnt have applied and wasted my money had I known about that time line. (My job starts in Chattanooga on June 7th, so why would I agree to a June 25th move in date when I live in middle Georgia?!)I asked for my $50 back and she said they couldnt refund it because it had been processed already. I was soooooo mad! I then tried to reason and asked if they had any one bedrooms available by June 4th. She said, Yeah, we definitely have some of those. Ill check on that and call you back. That was over two weeks ago and I havent heard another word from this complex.Meridian at Hamilton Place, you stole my $50 under false pretenses via lying to me, knowing you had no intention of renting to me! I want my money back!Dont waste your time applying here or even try calling as they barely answer the phones and NEVER return messages. However, if youre looking for a place to steal an application fee from you, this is it!I will also file a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau as Ive noticed a pattern after reading other reviews. You have a history of LYING to people to steal from them!!!UPDATE: They FINALLY called on Friday, July 16th to offer me an apartment. SERIOUSLY?! I told the woman that I needed an apartment early June and that I wanted my $50 application fee back. She went through the same song and dance as before and said they cant give me a refund because the application had been processed. I told her I called before it had been processed and you all lied to me about getting a place until AFTER it processed, which is when yall said you wouldnt have anything until late June. Again, she pretended not to know anything and asked if I knew who I talked with before. I told her I spoke with her the last 2 or 3 times I called and she got quiet. I didnt want to hear anymore lies, so I hung up. Im filing an official complaint with the BBB. Yall, beware this place! They will lie to you to get whatever money they can up front! Be smart and search elsewhere!!!

I lived here for 2 years. Paid rent on time, reported things to be fixed (leaking pipes, roof leaks), have never caused a disturbance. Last month, I inquired to stay at my current 2 bed unit as an individual. I am now 3 weeks away from my lease ending and I was just told today that I am being relocated to a newer unit so they can renovate. I wanted to stay because I love the home I have made here. The only reason I found out about the renovation relocation was because I followed up with the leasing office to ask about updates for the necessary paperwork for me to sign. The fact that this was never communicated with me is so unprofessional. Ive had my fair share of apartments that have had mishaps with communication but never one as atrocious as this.Additionally, it took over a month of phone calls and reports to get a shower pipe that was leaking into my kitchen ceiling fixed. I am also still waiting on my roof leak to be checked as well. So sorry for being concerned about long term damage in the home I pay for.So, to anyone who I considering Meridian, please read the reviews and use your best judgement.

It you don’t care about customer service or any issues with your apartment it’s not bad, cheap rent and good location. On the other hand, I’ve had a leak in my roof that they said would get addressed before I moved in and its still not fixed, smells like mildew. Also the mantle broke because they didn’t drill it in the studs and had to replace a new tv that hit the ground (42 inch) . The manager at the time said it would be replaced. She is no longer there so I went to Kadie or Katie and asked when my credit for TV is gonna show up on my bill. (Because I went and purchased a new one) Her words were “you should’ve got it in writing from the previous manager”. Maintenance is not the issues. It’s management.

I lived at Meridian for 2 years and I am only leaving because I am moving out of state. It was honestly horrible under the previous management but this year it went under new management and they are really taking strides to get this place back in shape. I can not say enough good things about Katie, the new property manager. When I had issues with my last move in she jumped in and immediately fixed the issues. Also, when we had the tornado earlier this year she actually walked around the property at one in the morning to make sure everyone was okay. All-in-all things are really starting to change around here and I would suggest it to anyone looking. The location is great and it is 8 mins from FedEx, Volkswagen, and Amazon and is way more affordable than most places in the area.

I have never been talked to the way the girl at the front desk talked to me. We have been under hard times because of Covid plus I have had health issues, which my good neighbors can attest to but under no circumstance should any of us be undermined and belittled, and I will get in touch w corporate about the issue as well. I let her vent but as I walked out I said to myself, they will not be here long treating tenants that way.

Maintenance is horrible. You have to call about 7 times in order to place a work order in. The office says it’ll be done in that same day yet it takes days for them to even come fix your problem and even when maintenance says they’ll be back they won’t be. It’s like an excuse to get out of what they need to be doing which is work. I love my apartment but there’s been several issues ever since my husband and I have moved in and no one wants to take the time to come out and help us. I’m not gonna pay all this money for rent when nothing is being taken care of. Fair is fair💁🏼‍♀️

I have waited a few weeks to write this after I moved in....I was a bit on edge about moving in based on the negative reviews but WOW was I nervous for NO REASON! The girls in the office are incredible and were quick about answering any question or concern I had. The apartment had minor issues that I really noticed on the third day but as soon as I emailed them in they had their maintenance guy come by within 20 min (give or take). I work nights and they really sold me on the fact that the apartments are very quiet...as I lived in other noisy apartments before this one is almost sound proof. So far, I am extremely happy I went with this apartment. Not sure If anyone reads these reviews anymore but I felt inclined to leave a good one based off of my own experience.

The maintenance person came to look and said theyd have someone out the following week to fix everything. They never showed up. So we call again, and again, and again. We finally have someone show up last week. He said they have to order a part and they would be back the early this week. We still have not seen them. The front office does not pick up the phone or email you back. When you show up at the office they say you have to have an appointment. Well how do you make an appointment when i can not get a response. The women in the front office are terrible and get attitude with you when you ask for something. First off, They never answer the phone or emails and that is very frustrating when you are trying to move, especially from another state. I called many many times and sent emails to ask questions and to set up a date to see a model prior to my move in date. I finally get a call the day before moving day , stating that apartment would not be ready for move in. I was absolutely astonished and upset that I was not told this earlier , especially since i had been calling all week long .I then proceeded to ask for my $200 admin fee back and I was told that she would ask the regional manager. I then scrambled to secure another place to live. A couple of hours later I get a phone call from Nicole saying that the apartment would now be ready later the next day. I informed her that I had already secured another place and that I was totally dissatisfied with my experience with Meridian at Hamilton and I would just like my money back. She informed me that I would not receive my money back even though this was not my fault. I feel like my money has been stolen at this point and I currently seeking out my reimbursement through Corporate because this is just wrong on so many levels. EDITED 5/2021. We had to leave Chattanooga for eight months to help care for my parents out of state, thinking it would be easier to return to the complex we had lived in for 17 months, we put in an application at the Meridian. After weeks of waiting, the assistant property manager told us we qualified to rent and to just let her know when we got to town. After arriving, we waited several days while staying in a hotel and never received communication that we didn’t initiate. Finally after finding another place to live, we found that our application sat for 4+ days and was never even processed. During this time I also reached out to their corporate office and didn’t receive a response. The “new” property manager was extremely rude and to be honest I am so glad we are not living there. Previous review had been given 3.5 stars: The maintenance man on property is wonderful! We have been very pleased with all contact we have had with him. The girls in the office are quite friendly, though when we have experienced some problems, weve been a bit disappointed with the response weve received. We were also unhappy with the move in condition of our unit as it had not been cleaned well after the previous owners had left. The sides of the stove and refrigerator were very dirty as was the top edge of the shower unit and the floors throughout. There were even things left in the kitchen cabinets leading me to wonder how much cleaning is actually done between tenants. This was blamed on switching cleaning companies at the time of our move, yet I spoke with someone else who moved in 4 months after we did, and they had the same problem and were offered the same excuse which seems a little unrealistic. While we have brought our concerns to the attention of management, some still remain, yet when I made a mistake and slightly underpaid my rent, they were very quick to threaten next day eviction if the situation was not remedied.

I can tell you those positive reviews are fake, probably written by someone who either works for their corporate office or doesn’t even live onsite. I will tell anyone who looks at this place to run far away and run fast. The management is unprofessional, apathetic, and shady, maintenance orders will sit for the entire year you live there with no urgency towards completion, the cops come on a weekly basis, most apartments have some form of bug/mice issue and pest control doesn’t do anything. Management plays favorites, as some residents have more than the 2 pet limit, some have aggressive dogs and are still allowed to live there (and they intimidate neighbors), and some people are told they cannot have either of these. They also give different people different info regarding leases, pricing, and business matters. Do yourself a favor and wait for this complex to be bulldozed before you look at living here.

This is a beautiful complex as far as the grounds with mature trees, many birds, squirrels and bunnies. It is fortress strong with thick concrete block walls. You dont hear from your neighbors ANYTHING through those walls. It is not a luxury complex, even though the interior updates are adequate and attractive (tile backsplash, stainless appliances and wood-look floors). The office staff is very, very nice. Those are the positives. The negative: I was in a top floor unit. In the summer, when it got very hot, the a.c. unit could not do the job. This is because, in my assessment, the building has a flat roof with no insulation and the unit was probably undersized. When I complained, I know the maintenance crew checked it.....I saw the ladder. But no one got back with me, and I think the reason why is that the only solution would have been very costly. The other negative is the building hallways are never cleaned. So bottom line: I enjoyed living there except when it got very hot.

The last 2 weeks has been the worst experience ever since staying at this place, my AC unit went completely out in the middle of the night I contacted the front office to report the issue. I was informed they had to order a special part to get it fix, I’ve been without a working AC since 5/16, to make the matter worst I have a two-year-old Son that lives with me. There’s been a lack of compassion/urgency for my issue. Management sucks, there’s been no updates on when my AC unit is going to be fix, I call the office daily is get an update, it has gotten to the point where the front office is purposely not answering my calls. The fact that I pay rent monthly and on time every single month, I expect to be able to live in my home and enjoy my son company comfortably, that hasn’t been the case for almost 2 weeks now, I’m very disappointed to the extreme. Ive lived here since April 30th 2015. I am highly disappointed in everything that has changed within the last couple months. I have called to speak with them multiple times. I work a full time job, and a part time job and cant always make it in the office. Yet none of my calls are getting returned. I cant find corporates number anywhere. Im just disappointed and wondering why I am getting a raise on my rent when things arent even getting done and its getting worse than it was. $789 is a lot of money to pay, and I am positive there are better places out there for cheaper than that. The location is the only thing going for it. Its hard to get maintenance to fix orders you have put in, and management and workers are extremely hard to get in touch with. Months will hobby before anything is changed. Even if you make the time out of your day to clock out and go see them, they say we will call you back. And thats the last you hear from them. I feel like Im being cheated out of my money. Dont move here.

My brand new car got towed last night because it was over the line . Ive lived here 1 week and was never told I would be towed if I parked weird . My car was next to a loading zone not blocking anyone or anything . Couldnt have even told me to move it . Got ready to do my 12 hr shift in the ER and had no car . Cost me 200 and the staff was so rude and disrespectful. I would never recommend this place unless you have money to throw around on towing

If you want a nice quite place to live, dont move here. The office staff is fake friendly, if you have a problem especially with another neighbor you will not get help, the staff falls back on the he said she said thing, The town homes are out of date bad slopping painting and i had to put up my own plastic on the window and stuff rags in the cracks of the doors to try to stay warm. The main management company in Nashville is no help any...they dont care because they get paid to manage, thats it. So glad Im out.Oh!! if you sign a lease, they dont work with you if you need out for any reason that I know of.

My wife and I live here currently. We have experienced a few issues in the past but the management is very understanding and usually tries to work with you if they can. (As you can see by how every bad review has a response from them)I will say the only problem my wife and I have and wish they could change is the parking. I get off work at 10 and there is never parking near my building so I have to walk from pretty far away with all of my work equipment. Its a pain. All the spaces are marked for each apartment. I wish they would go to using the assigned spaces. We dont enjoy bringing groceries home on a half mile walk.Other than that the floors are not real wood. Vinyl. As weve found can come up very easy and get nicks and tears in it from moving things or just from pets very easy as well.So if youre active or have any pet that runs around expect to lose your deposit. The blinds seem to be faulty or at the very least very fragile so we dont use them as if they break they are 20 dollars a slat to replaceOverall we enjoy living here. Theres a few things we would like to have changed. IE: parking, blinds, vinyl floors. But if the parking at the very least changed to assigned we would probably consider staying another year. Unfortunately the parking is such a problem its something that is hard to get past. We will be moving at the end of our lease if it isnt resolved.

I live on the townhouse side! It is totally quiet!!! I have never heard my neighbors! We all mind our own business. The maintenance team comes around to pickup around the dumpster and anywhere else they may see any litter! Ive never complained but I do notice that if anyone else has a problem they dont mind typing a letter to inform everyone of whats expected and put it on the doors. My only issue has been small and thats when others let their company park in front of my door. But I usually say something to the person in the car or leave a note on the car

If you are going to trash talk about a tenant when they leave the office you should probably make sure the door is completely shut first so they cannot hear you… Next time I’ll just bring my concerns to the health department and the attorney general and bypass the office completely.Since I have lived here the air conditioning went out which took them eight days to fix… There have been major pest control problems. They charge us every month for pest control but it never comes around. The bathroom light flips the breaker every time you turn it on so, at the recommendation of Derek the maintenance sup, there is a lamp with an extension cord in my bathroom providing light... about a month and a half ago I called the office because the ceiling was leaking water in my kitchen and completely soaked my kitchen cabinets where food and dishes were… It doesn’t matter how many times I clean it mold continues to grow in these cabinets because every other day the ceiling leaks again. The apartment complex won’t shell out the money necessary to fix it… I have pictures and video of huge enormous green clusters of mold hanging from the roof of the cabinets and growing all over the bottom… Literally growing on some of my food containers... they don’t get in any hurry to fix any of this stuff but so help you god if you are late on the rent you are going to pay a late fee and they will even charge you attorney fees and court costs regardless of whether you go to court or not. They’re absolutely unforgiving when it comes to that stuff no matter what your situation is but they don’t hold up their end of the contractual agreement. I emailed the videos of the mold to the health department tonight. I’m sick of this... they also towed my truck a couple months ago because one of the tires was barely over the parking space line… Cost me $250 to get it back and they didn’t even tell me they towed it... $974 a month for all of this...

Edited to add: don’t be fooled by all of the five star reviews on here. The staff asks residents to leave good reviews in exchange for credits.Meridian at Hamilton Place is literally one of the worst places to live in Chattanooga. Not only is it overpriced, it is in a terrible location and only has one exit to the major highway, adding at least 5 minutes to your commute every morning just waiting to turn out.The first problem we had with them was their lack of communication and office errors regarding our rent payments. One day we came home to find we had a credit on our account right before our wedding. We were happy and used that money to help pay off more of our wedding. When we paid rent the next month, they told us it was an error on their end and we actually owed the full amount, which we didn’t have. We were told by Ryan that we could bring in the rest on October 6 and it not be late, since that’s when my husband got paid next. We paid and everything was fine until they sent us a late fee the next week we were promised we didn’t have to pay. Ryan took the blame and offered to subtract $50 from our pet deposit amount but the other $25 that was promised to us was never to be found, Ryan offered to bribe us by writing a good review online to get the remaining money back but he has never followed through with it.Now this week, our heat went out over Christmas and not only were we accused of not paying our bill when I called this morning (which we absolutely did pay our bill), they “never got our emergency call” last night at 1 am when my husband and I were shivering underneath the sheets. We have service animals and this is highly against the law because if something were to happen to either of us, meridian will be liable. I have a myriad of health problems including my body temperature falling when I sleep anyway so sleeping in cold temperatures is not good for my health. We also lost sleep last night waiting for a repairman that never came. I also called the office 30 minutes ago and they said a repairman was on his way, and he STILL hasn’t showed up, I have typed this long thing while waiting for him to arrive. Also arriving back from our honeymoon we found we had cockroaches even though we didn’t leave food out. We called them at the beginning of December to come and spray and they STILL haven’t come.I am extremely disappointed in the way all situations were and are being handled. If we had $1000 to break our lease (which is a ridiculous amount in and of itself), you betcha I would do it in a heart beat and move out of this place. All of these incidents have happened since only July when we moved in. I will never ever recommend meridian to anyone trying to find a place in Chattanooga.

Overpriced. Too many nitpicky rules. Will cheat you out of deposit for the smallest reason. Want a 60 day notice to move out. I turned key in on the 54th day. They kept my deposit. No concern whatsoever about providing a safe area to live. If someone steals something from your vehicle, it is your fault for parking there. If you park on a white line, expect to get towed. Not a good place to live.

Yesterday was one of the most stressful days that Ive had in a very long time. My husband and I were suppose to go and sign our new lease at the Meridian at Hamilton Place. We had been jerked around to 3 different apartments (even up to this past Monday) and have had the worst service that Ive ever seen in my life. When we arrived the guy said that he didnt even know we coming to sign the lease! After all the paperwork he took us to the apartment and when I say I thought I was on a hidden camera show and someone was gonna come out and say we were being pranked is an understatement! First off the living room ceiling was leaking and there was water all on the floor. The drywall was falling off the ceiling from obvious water damage and he tried to tell my husband that it is normal but it was clearly throughout the entire apartment from obvious water damage over time. I went ahead and looked through the rest of the apartment and it only got worse! It was obviously not cleaned. The refrigerator looked like someone thought it was a punching bag and had dents all in it and the bathrooms are not cleaned at all. Dirt was all on the floor and the shower was disgusting! There were spiderwebs hanging from the ceilings and there wasnt a drop of fresh paint in the apartment at all! He told us that he normally gets to look at the apartments first but he dont this time which wasnt our fault it! That is his job and that is what he is supposed to do! We expressed to him that we cant move into this. He rambled on and on how he was sorry and he was gonna have them fix it. We went back to the office and he tried to find us another apartment that was available. Keep in mind Ive had all the utilities switched over because Saturday was our move in date. He then tried to give us and apartment that had tenants that were suppose to turn in keys 3 days ago and didnt. We went in to look at it. They left crap all in the apartment and it wasnt cleaned and would have to be cleaned, painted, and have the carpets replaced before we would be able to move in hopefully on Wednesday!!!! Brandon and I thought and prayed on what we should do because he was upset and I was clearly very unhappy. The Meridian said that because of all of the problems we could leave and get our money back and we decided to drive down the road to try and find another apartment. We ended up finding a very nice apartment that was a total upgrade from what we were going to get at the other apartments. I was so stressed out but God was on my side and he made a way!!! I would advise people to stay away from the Meridian (corner of E. Brainerd and Gunbarrel Rd)!!!! THE WHOLE EXPERIENCE WAS HORRIBLE!!!!!

I normally dont complain but sometimes you have too. Next month will be two years since I moved from Cincinnati to Chattanooga and living at the Meridian. When I came to view the apartment there were some times that needed to be fixed and I was told it would be done prior to my move in and it wasnt. Last winter I had to deal with having mice in my unit. I was told by the maintenance man that I was the only person in the complex that had mice (do I look like boo boo the fool). I was asked do I come home at night and I said yes and the maintenance guy said thats how they are getting in, meaning when I open the door they are coming in with me LOL. He even went as far as to say they were coming in off the balcony underneath the flooring. SMH!! I had to show him where they were coming in at after he finally said I dont see how they are getting in. Today 7/20/17 I was upset because EBP was doing installation in the complex. I knew they were coming and assumed which I guess I shouldnt have they would knock on the door to gain entry. OH NO they were given a key by management and entered my unit without knocking which set off my alarm and me waking up to a man standing in my living room saying hello. Im a property manager and giving a contractor or anyone else a key to enter someones unit without a member of staff is a no no. How do you know the person will not steal? Im not saying he would but the possibility is there. Management can give someone a key to enter my unit without it being an emergency but you cant address the work order I put in over a month ago. Im being told they are behind on work orders. Thats not my problem Im not behind on my rent. I will say the staff is nice and polite but thats not getting the job done . I shouldnt have to have my maintenance man from my job to come to my apartment to fix things when I paying good money to live here. Very disappointed at the moment. Also they send out notices about putting trash outside you door. The notice states you will be fined $25 and every morning there is trash at one of my neighbors door. Also it states in the lease not to hang anything off the balconies. There are units that have clothes hanging on the balconies. The kind of money they are charging to live here I shouldnt have to look at things like this. If I wanted to live in a mice/roach infested place with clothes hanging off the balconies and trash by apartment doors I wouldnt have move here.

I am a resident currently, and it is terrible!!!!There is never any parking, and when your car isnt getting broken in to, you cant get maintenance to do anything correct. It takes at least four times to get something fixed right. Our air conditioning isnt working. The dumb a__ maintenance man, always thinks Its the filter and thats all he ever does is change the filter. Its not the FILTER GENIUS!!!!!! Its 70 degrees outside. I can hear the unit running, it doesnt shut off..... We keep our air set on 69 or 70 all the time. Its reading 78 degrees inside our house. Its not working!!!!!!!!! Its not cuz we are on third floor, and its not cuz heat rises, and its not cuz people under us cook.....that the reasons he gave me two months ago....now its not working at all. Good job bud!! No, dont move here!!!!!!
