I have an experience living in different apartment complexes in different states and cities. The Meyden is by far the best place I’ve ever rented my apartment at. Bree is the most friendly person you’ll ever meet and the maintenance team is awesome. You will fall in love with the location too. I think this is the first time ever I feel like home while staying at such a huge apartment complex. Highly recommend!

I have stayed as the Meyden for two years and just moved out (my personal reason), and my overall experience here was fantastic. Absolutely had a great memory here.Special shout-out to Michael Clevenger for being the shining property manager, he rocks! During the past few years, with a warm heart, he was always so patient and love to help residents solving problems, answering questions with his passion and proficiency; and he made my move-out experience much smoothly too. I was I appreciated all the contribution that Mike, all the other office staff and maintenance team did to make the Meyden a better place!

Ive been living at the meyden for almost two years and Ive really enjoyed it. The apartments have AC, I can barely hear my neighbors in my apartment, and they have monthly events/food gifts for the residents. Having lived in a couple different places in the area this has been my favorite by far!Special shout-out to Bree for being amazing!

I moved to the Meyden Apartments a month ago and my experience so far has been phenomenal! I want to give the credit to Bree Cardenas who has been extremely supportive and helpful right from the very beginning - giving me a virtual tour, helping me sign the lease, assisting me with all the random questions and with move-in and even now she goes above and beyond to help the residents. Kudos to the maintenance team too who are very quick in responding. The apartment is top-notch with appliances in perfect condition. I am lucky to a fantastic view too and privacy too! The location of the building is also perfect!

I’ve been at the Meyden since it opened (almost 5 years). I truly enjoyed the building and area but safety, security and customer service has declined over the past couple of years. Break-ins have been happening more often, most recently the gated resident parking garage, including our storage unit with several items of ours stolen, destroyed and contaminated with feces. Very little support from the property other than “call your renter’s insurance”. Unfortunately there is little room to negotiate anything (e.g., lease termination) without the expectation for nearly $8,000, and I’ve negotiated with many landlords in the past who have showed empathy and understanding towards tenants, issues and personal circumstances, which during this difficult time I thought would be more of a priority. We also had several issues with paperwork not being filled out correctly by staff (e.g., lease paperwork) and went out of our way multiple times to rectify things, which I personally have no issue with but it seems only when convenient for the property. You’re definitely a number here, which has become more apparent recently.

Love living here! Super dog friendly, all the office staff and maintenance workers love our Koda. Great location, allows for me to take Koda on runs every morning to either downtown park or the beach. I often joke that we have a storage unit downstairs, aka the CVS. WaveG internet, 1 Gig synthetic speeds allows for the best working from home. Whenever my fiancée and I need a drink, we go downstairs to the bar at peony to wind down.

We’ve lived here 7 months now and love it! I thought moving from FL to WA would be super stressful but Stefan made the transition really easy! We were able to do a virtual tour over FaceTime and looked at 4 different units. He was super patient and knowledgeable and answered all of our questions and had the lease ready within a day for us to sign (really helped my anxiety that thought we’d be homeless when we got here because I thought it’d take a while.) The whole team made us feel at home from the beginning and ultimately that’s why we chose to live here. April and Mike are both super friendly in the office and have always been helpful with anything we’ve needed, even not apartment related but just in general about the area! April makes the effort to get to know residents (and our dogs love her) and I love that! It’s nice to feel like you aren’t just another person. I really enjoy the social events (so far I was only able to go to Friendsgiving and the Holiday party) and love that they have these so residents can get to know each other.Maintenance has been super quick to fix the two problems we’ve had (one was just two lights being out and a running toilet, thanks Donny & Sergio!) and are always friendly and professional. We have two dogs and one does not like people in her house and Simon has been super accommodating with things like changing the AC filter on a different day or outside normal business hours so we can be home. The common areas/building in general is always kept super clean (thanks Jeremy!).We haven’t made use of the common areas too much but there is a theater, pool table/arcade games, giant TVs etc. I do like the gym but wish there were different bikes in there. I use the car vacuum and hose to wash my car all the time. Super convenient!

I had a uniquely horrible experience at The Meyden. The apartments are nice (though overpriced) but the management may be worse than any management in the city of Bellevue. I initially applied to rent an apartment and duly paid my application fee. Management seemed to indicate that everything was fine but rejected me due to their CLAIM that I had a civil review on my credit. I have good credit and contacted credit agencies in an attempt to find the so-called civil review and none could produce any trace of it. THEN, in a cruel twist, management contacted me and explicitly told me that I had everything I needed to move in so long as I brought in my social security card and chose a new apartment. I returned with my social security card, chose a new apartment (for 300$ more) and sat down to sign the lease. At the last second, they claimed they were having problems with their system and that they couldnt let me rent the new apartment without reapplying. They told me that I was still accepted, they just had to work out the glitch in their computer system which they had put in a tech support ticket for. The next day, they called me to reject me AGAIN for the same non-existent civil review they were stuck on initially. Why tell me I had everything I needed to move in and make me take the day off from work to go visit and choose a new apartment? What a joke these people are. Uniquely terrible management.

Frankly I don’t think one star can describe how awful this property is, I literally want to apologize to all apartments I have ever lived in the United States for my pervious 3,4 star reviews after I received the move-out statement from The Meyden, because The Meyden refreshed my knowledge of unscrupulous apartments. There’s no way you can get your deposit back, since they can just charge you $200 for so-called deep cleaning for 1b1b which I already precleaned - I used 2 large cans of Clorox to wipe bathtub, toilet seat, all kinds of surface in the apartment and every inch of the floor. I vacuumed the carpet in the bedroom also - wait, carpet cleaning is extra charge outside of the $200 cleaning fee. I honestly updated reviews for one GreyStar apartment from 4 to 5 which charged me 40 dollars for cleaning. Apparently compared to The Meyden, GreyStar seems like a charity org now.Further, The Meyden want to charge your money for their own project. One of their staff wrote down $800 for replacing cheap(~$10), 1’‘ aluminium blinds with no further explanations nor invoices, but expected me to pay. I used to live in another luxury apartment, which used the same cheap blinds like The Meyden’s. Back then that leasing office told us they use such cheap blinds because they expect normal wear and tear on cheap blinds and they can replace them with low prices before new residents move-in. Somehow, to The Meyden, $800 is the right price for such cheap blinds. In addition, 800 dollars for a 1b1b blinds replacement seems like accounting fraud to me by incorrect asset valuation and improper expense recognition. What pisses me off the most is not The Meyden just listed some random items and price, expecting me to pay, but when it comes to money, they don’t even want to communicate with me. I honestly think this property dares to rip me off like this because they know I am an immigrant here - as an immigrant and a young professional out of school, it is difficult for me to afford the money and time I will possibly spend for a court case.I need to thank The Meyden for teaching me a good lesson: if I tolerate such mobs I will never get my justice. I will keep this comment updated for further updates.Update@03/16: Maybe instead of commenting below The Meyden can answer my emails? I wait a month for response(my first email is back to 02/13, after not receiving any response, I sent another email on 02/21, one response stating the blinds are customized based on dimension. I replied on 02/23 to request details and invoice but I got NO response till today. I was trying to avoid such situation and communicate with the property directly but it seems unless I comment here nobody from The Meyden responses.Meyden removed the 800 dollar charge in the end. I will leave my comment here for future residents to review.

The management at the Mayden is absolutely phenomenal! The young woman who toured us, Shahrzad, was incredibly professional, informative, honest, warm, and made us feel absolutely at-home. The apartments we toured were beautiful, clean, and well-lit: the natural lighting is something my partner and I noticed especially. Overall, I would recommend these apartments, and although we ultimately went with another option, this location is stellar!

After an extensive search of apartments in Bellevue and Kirkland, I was extremely happy to have found the Meyden and sign the lease of my new home. There are very few apartments that are built to the standard of Pillar Properties. There reputation for high quality apartments is well deserved, and can be seen in the standard of appliances, apartment layouts, generous storage space, not to mention the customer service levels of their leasing and maintenance staff.

From the first time we came to tour to our move in date (this last weekend) our entire experience here has been amazing! We wanted to choose the right place to call home, so we toured MANY different complexes in Bellevue and The Meyden really blew us away. We came to tour multiple times, asked many questions and had interactions with several of the office team throughout the process. Every time they were so accommodating and let me know they were more than happy to help. Mike and April were helpful answering our questions and not only will Shahrzad be helping us with the delivery of our furniture but she is a constant smiling presence every time we walk through the lobby. And we really have to give a huge thank you to Stefan! Every time we toured he was kind, informative and willing to show us not only the different apartments we were interested in looking at (and re-touring a few) but also all the amenities, and we never felt rushed. All of this helped play a part in our decision to move here. I cannot say enough about how happy we are to have chosen The Meyden as our new home!

The Meyden has the best management group and maintenance team I have ever lived/worked with. Just a few days ago, the apartment above me flooded (due to a negligent tenant, not the building) and water came down through my light fixture into my bathroom. The flooding caused water damage on the ceiling and needed to be fixed. The maintenance team (Joel and Greg) responded to my call at 7:00 am and were at my apartment by 9:00 am on Memorial Day assessing the issue. By the next day, they had already brought in a work crew to determine next steps.Throughout this process, Joel and his team were extremely professional and courteous of my personal space, and overall very accommodating to me. I have two large dogs and one is aggressive with strangers. I need to go to work but I can’t leave them in the apartment and have people walking in when I am not there. I can’t take my other dog to a kennel because he has kidney disease and can no longer be vaccinated. My life is kind of a hot mess and I’m dependent on my apartment being a safe-haven for them. Management teams in the previous places I’ve lived just tell you “too bad” we need to get in there to work on the damage but the team here is super flexible (within reason, you need to meet them halfway which is more than fair). The communication is consistently solid. They called me to check on times when they could come in and followed through on next steps. I am so impressed. This type of professional communication is normally lacking or nonexistent in other places but The Meyden is nailing it. This really helped to stave off the stress that comes with living alone with large, moody dogs.In addition to this, the new property manager, April, is phenomenal. I think she’s been with The Meyden for a month now and her interactions and communication style reflect a manager that has been running this place for years. Though the flooding wasn’t my fault, I am still responsible for my dogs, not The Meyden. I asked if she had another place I could keep my dogs while I am at work, since the repairs were most likely going to take another week. I honestly didn’t think they would help me since it’s not their responsibility and my contract specifically states they they are allowed to enter my apartment in emergency situations, but I asked anyway. April saw that I was feeling very stressed about this. Instead of saying “no, we can’t do that”, she checked with her boss and got sign-off to set me up in an empty unit so I could leave my dogs there while I go to work. She even called me that same day from her cell phone while she was working at the other apartment she manages to let me know. She didn’t have to do any of this! She was going above and beyond the base expectations of her job and I couldnt be more grateful. So here’s the takeaway - Most places treat your apartment likes it’s a office space/business, where they can walk in and out and change things regardless of whether you like it or not - you are expendable to them. The Meyden treats your apartment like it’s YOUR HOME. Though they are still a business, they show great respect for your personal space and they covet responsible and respectful long-term renters. I highly recommend this place.

I was a tenant at The Meyden earlier this year. Due to the purchase of a home, I had break the lease. They gave me an option to just pay 2 months or continue paying rent until they re-rented the unit. After discussing with the leasing agents, I was confident the would re-lease the unit in less than 2 months so went with the second option. I take full responsibility for making this decision which was a huge mistake. After 3 months of paying rent, I started to do some digging and found out that my unit was being marketed 12% over what I was paying, and it was one of the most expensive one bedroom units in Bellevue. I also found out that The Meyden had staged the unit as the model. When I was carrying the financial burden for the unit, The Meyden was trying to rent it at a premium. Upon notifying management at the Meyden of this, I was treated very rudely and was initially informed that I could pay 2 additional months in order to walk away from the lease. This would have meant that I would have paid a total of 5 months to break a lease. After agreeing upon a number to break the lease (and the unit becoming The Meydens financial responsibility), they dropped the price of the unit 4 times within a month. It will rent below what we were paying for it. They insist on there being some algorithm to figure out the rent price, but that is hard to believe since the unit sat at a premium for 3 months and only dropped once they had to carry the financial burden for it. Example: while I was still paying rent, they were marketing it at $365 above what my rent was; currently they are marketing it $21 below what my rent was. This drop happened within a month or so.Additionally, they accidentally sent to collections me plus a few other tenants. I had paid my rent on time every month, including when I was no longer living there. The only thing they ever apologized for with that situation was for the glitch in their system that caused it.Their leasing agents are great but cannot do anything about managing the breaking of a lease. It was the property manager who is disrespectful, inflexible and difficult to work with. The only reason why any solutions were reached for the rent or the collections issue is because I had to hound management.I am not a disgruntled former resident with a vendetta. These are all facts and I think worth sharing so the same thing doesn’t happen to somebody else. I have given The Meyden & Pillar Properties many opportunities to correct this situation but they say there is nothing they can do. I am not trying to get out of this for free, just fair.My advice would be think twice about leasing here, especially if you might need to amend your living situation before your lease is up.

EDIT: Been here for >2 years, still very happy and all my previous comments are still correct.Ive lived here for 6 months now and I couldnt be happier with my choice of apartments. This brand new apartment complex (~1yr old as of this review) hasnt had any of the usual new complex growing pains - everything was fresh, ready to go, working well, and exactly what I wanted out of the gate. The community/amenities/etc:Pros- Incredible staff. These folks are always more than helpful with any questions or concerns and are very genuine people. Sure, the complex is owned by a larger corporate company, but the local staff brings a very personal feel to it. Corporate representatives also occasionally come to social events so thats cool. Ive stayed in a bunch of large company owned apartments, and the Meydens staff is hands down the best Ive ever worked with.- Lease signing and moving in was a breeze. Staff was always there to answer questions, and everything (including actual lease signing and rent payment) can be done entirely online, which is convenient.- Social events are hosted multiple time a year by the Meyden team where you get to socialize with other apartment tenants over free food and drinks. Theyre always a good time.- Security is great - lots of multi-lock steps (lock on the main door, one on elevator, etc), gated garage (with assigned spots), etc- They handle package delivery so you dont have to worry about being at home to receive them.- Its in a prime location within walking distance of all the downtown Bellevue restaurants and smack in the middle of Old Bellevue.- The gym is open 24 hours a day.Could be better- Theres a ~$50 base sewage fee that gets tacked onto every water bill by the water company, so thats unfortunate. But, this looks like its standard at every complex served by the water company and I definitely dont hold it against the Meyden. The room itself:Pros- Phenomenal internet (symmetric gigabit with WaveG who has excellent customer service and is cheap at $80/mo no contracts)- Hardwood laminate in the living area- Carpeted bedroom- In-unit washer/dryer- Nice floor plan (open/spacious rather than awkward rectangles)- High quality appliances (stainless steel)- A/C (not that youd need it in Bellevue very often)Could be better- Electric stove (would much prefer gas, but I think apartments with electric in WA is the standard - this is just a personal preference anyway)- Freezer space is a bit tight, but the fridge space is huge. Its probably only tight because I shop at Costco...- ... thats it. All nitpicks and nowhere near dealbreakers.Overall, while the cost of renting may be a bit pricy, its entirely reflected in the quality of customer satisfaction, rooms, and location and definitely worth.

Ive been staying here for the past 6 weeks. I must say Im very impressed with the infrastructure that the Meyden has to offer. The facility has an indoor gym, indoor pool-billiards lounge, plenty of lounges for quiet reading or partying as well. It even has an indoor movie theater for any movie you would like to watch for your friends. Location wise, it is ideal as well, even if you dont have your own car (1 minute walk from the 550|249 bus stop). Plenty of Grocery stores and restaurants around the block. There is a CVS in thr building as well. 10 min walk from downtown Bellevue.Overall, I must say I am very satisfied with my stay and I would recommend it to anyone planning to stay in Bellevue.
