I’ve had great experiences and customer service with Smythe Jewelers! I go ever six months to get my rings checked and cleaned and they’re always fast and very friendly. On my last trip I also had my rings resized and the process couldn’t have been simpler. The man I worked with was very friendly and answered all of my questions! And the resizing was finished earlier than expected. It’s such a beautiful store and I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a jeweler or even just a really nice gift!

Very helpful and friendly service! Came in with a watch battery needing to replaced. A gentleman greeted me immediately with a very friendly smile. Told me exactly it wouldn’t take long to fix the battery (which it did not) and exactly how much it would cost (which was very inexpensive). He came back with a working watch and sent me right to someone who could help me close out the sale. She was incredibly nice and said that if for whatever reason the battery stopped working to bring the watch back. Smyth Jewelers your business is always appreciated! I just want to take a minute to shout out the Smyth Jewelers in Annapolis. I needed to have my white gold engagement ring refinished by May 14 for my upcoming wedding (Covid reschedule...). My fiancé purchased the ring at Kay where this is included. Kay told me to come back two weeks before the wedding. Well I went back three weeks before and long story short they send out the ring and it SHOULD arrive by May 8- too close to my date in my opinion. Kay told me to try Jared, as they do not have to send it out. When I called Jared they were dismissive, rude, and almost $100! I decided to call around and am so glad I did. Smyth was super nice on the phone and got me right in with an appointment! And at $45! Today I went in and every employee was just the best example of great customer service. So happy for me to be getting married, so helpful, and really just all around a great staff. Also they have really cute stuff besides jewelry! I’ll be recommended this store all the time now! First, let me say that I have notes for what my fiancees ring could look like given the features that she liked i.e. cushion cut, halo, split shank, etc.Well John and the team at Smyth Jewelers took my notes and discussed with me what the ring could look like and from which designer. They asked me what was my budget was and we went from there, choosing the diamond and then the designer. Overall I am very satisfied with John and the team at Smyth Jewelers and my fiancee is very happy with the ring I got her. Honestly, the hardest part was hiding the ring and planning out the best time to pop the question.Would highly recommend anyone who may be looking to pop the question or even just casually shopping for jewelry.

Ginny was so great to work with. She helped my fiancé with the perfect custom engagement ring (which was based on his grandmother’s ring). He told her our budget and she showed us multiple diamonds to choose from that were within our budget. Some of these diamonds were new and others were estate diamonds. I ended up falling in love with an estate diamond that was absolutely beautiful. She was so so thorough throughout the process. I requested that the diamond be set down lower in the ring and she executed it perfectly. I ended up going back and buying my fiancé a man-gagement present and she was so patient with him while he tried on many many different watches. We ended up ordering one from the catalogue to the store. I got it sent to the other Smyth to be engraved and they did a fantastic job. We also ended up ordering our wedding bands from Smyth in Annapolis. My fiancé liked one in store that had a matte finish on the inside with a shiny boarder, but he wasn’t 100% sure it was the one. Ginny brought up other options on the computer and ended up ordering a different ring into the store to see if he liked it. It was perfect. Smyth has so many different options and if you don’t find what you’re looking for in store, custom rings can be just as affordable here. Other employees here that made my shopping experience so great were both John’s. Manager John greets you with a friendly face as soon as you walk in the door and John P was very helpful to me when I came shopping here before the engagement ring process. I would 100% go back here for any jewelry need.

I recently had a great experience at Smyth Jewelers. I brought in two pieces for repairs, a watch and a necklace, and both were fixed promptly. The service was friendly and professional, especially John Comer. He took the pieces in immediately, and ensured that I was thoroughly happy with the repairs before I left. I stopped by looking for a specific piece of jewelry for my daughter and John was very helpful and found exacatly what I was looking for.

I have had previous experiences with Smyth Jewelers that have been great, but my two most recent experiences were sub-par, to say the least. I needed my engagement ring resized after having a baby. My size 5 finger grew and I was no longer able to wear my rings. After waiting several minutes, I was rather rudely told that I’d have to wait to be seen, though there were several employees available and not with customers at the time. When someone finally did ask what I needed help with, I was taken back to have my finger sized. I was asked for my ring, told it wasn’t round, and that that was my problem — not the size. Regardless of how symmetrically round my ring was, it did not, and has not, fit for a year now, and I was willing to pay someone to do whatever was needed to fix this for me. I was initially given a size 6 to try on, but before I could even get the ring on, I was told that my hands were “too swollen” and they couldn’t possibly size my ring that day. My hands weren’t swollen. I have just gained weight and my body has changed since having a baby, making a tiny size 5 ring too snug, but thank you. I also have knuckles that are somewhat larger than my fingers, and had I been able to try the 6 on myself, I’m sure I would not have to write this review. The 6 was removed and I was given a 6.5, and after being able to try it on, we both agreed it was too big. I was told a 6 wasn’t big enough and a 6.5 would mean my ring would constantly spin. I asked if they did quarter sizes, after being left to feel there wasn’t much able to be done in helping me wear my rings again, before they finally offered a quarter size to me. My ring was taken into the back, and I was told that 4 diamonds on the shank were loose. Unexpected given the lack of wear over the last year and some change, but something I was obviously absolutely willing to have fixed. After paying about $250 and having my ego bruised a bit, I left to wait a week for my rings to return for pickup. I received a text message yesterday letting me know that my ring was ready to be picked up. A day earlier than expected, and it was great news to end the week on. When I arrived and struggled to get in the door with my son in his stroller, only for a female customer to rush to help me, I noticed that every male employee in the store was huddled behind the counter, unbothered. I wouldn’t even add this note if I had been afforded even an ounce of customer service at any other moment during either of these visits, but here we are. One asked if I was there to pick up, and, in hindsight I wish I’d replied “no, I had a few thousand dollars I wanted to spend,” because I’m sure they would have all tripped over themselves to help me then. When I was escorted to the back to pick up my ring, I immediately knew it was too big. My almost 3-carat center stone flipped under my finger the moment I slid it on. I said “oh, I think this is too big, honestly...” as kindly as I could, only to be met with silence and a pen to ask for my signature for acceptance. Frustrated and on my second poor experience in a row, I left, as it was clear I wasn’t going to get a stellar experience at this store (which surprised me quite a bit, as the employee who handed me my ring yesterday is whom I’ve previously had a great experience with). I suppose my fingers weren’t “swollen” enough yesterday... So now I am left with a ring that will make it over my knuckle, but slip around constantly. I feel if I had just been given the opportunity to determine my actual ring size without being told what it was by someone who didn’t pay for my ring, its resizing, and doesn’t wear it daily, we could all have avoided this review. While I think, overall, this is a very reputable jeweler with a great selection (I had plenty of time to browse while waiting on someone last weekend), I will no longer provide them with my business and would rather have additional lead times and ship my ring back to its designer than have this type of experience ever again.

Had a great experience. Walked by Smyth many times but never went in. We needed a gift without spending a lot of money and were pleasantly surprised! They helped us find what we were looking for no matter the amount we were spending.

I had my favorite earrings repaired and they were butchered by their repair shop at this place. They were suppose to fix the back on one of the earrings and they cut off a lot of gold from it and made it way shorter then it was before. Then they cut off gold from the not broken earring to even them out. I never received the broken part they took off my earring when it was repaired.The job they’ve done was sloppy and everyone were rude about it . I end up with two not matching earrings , one shorter than another and a memory of really bad experience overall.

Tracy James has great industry knowledge in assisting with making an investment in jewelry. The store had a variety of pieces from standard bearer names you know as well as up and coming artisans. Whether you are looking at high end merchandise or shopping for a clearance deal he makes you feel like you are the only customer. The best facet of the experience is the low to no pressure sales tactics. Tracy listens to your ideas of what you are looking for, gives detailed information on pricing, and then allows you to make an educated decision. Excellent location to boot.

Smyth Jewelers in Annapolis took two of my watches and repaired them. The repair was done in a timely fashion and everyone I dealt with in the store or by phone couldnt have been nicer or more helpful. I would certainly recommend and trust them.

The staff was wonderful. I needed my watch band adjusted and they were gracious enough to help and not even charge me for the adjustment. A great experience. I will be back for sure.
