After a poor experience at a competitor I came to CarMax and Im so glad I made that choice. I completed everything online, Im 65 years old and it was still easy as pie. Going in to get the car at the Vancouver dealership was excellent. No booth, no sweatbox, no “boss in the backroom tactics. A delightful young lady helped me fill out the final paperwork and submit my proof of income, insurance etc.... This couldnt have been an easier or more pleasant car buying experience. If this is the future of car sales the future is very bright. I would, and already have, recommend CarMax to anyone I know who needs a car. You were professional and friendly and very helpful online, on the phone, and in person. Instead of pressure and stress all I experienced was the excitement of getting a new car, what a great experience!!! 👌 Update, my best friend bought a car from you after I recommended you too them. I was really stressed about selling my deceased brothers car. I didnt want to try to sell privately because I just dont have the time or patience. Took it to the CarMax in Vancouver. Everyone was very helpful. The manager went out of his way and made a couple phone calls to ensure that this would be a smooth and painless transaction. And it was! It took a couple if hours but it was worth it. And I got more for the car than I had thought I would. I would Highly recommend CarMax😊

Truly had the best experience here! Went in to sell my 2013 Kia Soul, and I had used the instant online offer. I went in, they inspected/took pictures of my car and test drove it to make sure all was well, came back to me with an incredibly fair offer, I signed some paperwork, got my check for my car then was out of there! I brought in my beloved 1997 Ranger to CarMax and the attendant there was both kind and interested in assisting me. I found the experience both a relief and pleasant. I would recommend CarMax for buying a new to me vehicle or any vehicle, the prices are up front and straight forward. In selling a vehicle they are both kind and helpful without any pressure.

So nice, we got a great deal on a really cool jeep, the staff were all friendly. It was the first transparent experience at a car dealership ever! I have purchased several cars throughout the years and would say this has been by far the best one ever.

I love the upfront customer service approach and atmosphere. No games or dishonesty. I wouldn’t go anywhere else ever again.

Every facet of my purchase was just as I expected before I even arrived for my test drive... actually bought the car that day, and wasnt even there two hours!

Service department was easy to work with. Personnel I had contact (Joe and Bodhi) were professional and personable. We had left a voice mail for Bodhi to call us re a question and returned the call the same day. They had to reattach and secure a strip of chrome colored molding to the front bumper. Time will tell if the repair will go the distance.

At CarMax, I purchased a 15-month old luxury sedan for approximately $20,000 less than its original sticker price. The car has a factory warranty for another 33 months (in addition to the CarMax warranty) and looks, drives, feels and smells like a brand new vehicle. The CarMax team were consummate professionals throughout the process. The entire experience was delightful - not a word I usually associate with the car buying process.

Ive luckily not had to buy many cars in my life, but this was the absolute best car buying experience Ive been through at a car lot. There was no pressure at all, at any point. It was refreshing to feel like the sales staff was more interested in customer service than making a buck.

I expected it to be difficult. I thought i would be offered less than the offer. This process was so easy and fast. No dickering, no sleazy sales person. My agent was super nice, he explained every step and made sure I was comfortable with the process.

Selling my car at carmax was a great experience. It was pretty easy. The whole process took 2 hours, but its because I didn’t make an appointment. They took multiple pictures of the car and sent them to someone for an appraisal. If you purchased GAP insurance or an extended warranty (that hasn’t expired), you can get refunded when you sell your car. I was happy that the service provider told me about that!

My experience at carmax overall was decent. It took a very long time to get out of there because of hiccups but the manager took good care of me.First after sitting for a bit for my appointment he came to tell me the battery was shot and they needed to go get a new one. New battery sounds good to me and then he offered to buy me lunch for the hiccup.There were a couple other things that spread the time out and I ended up being there for several hours. However the staff stayed very friendly and took care of me. They thanked me for all my patience at the end even asking what I do for a living being such a patient customer.In the end I drove off with my kia sorento a happy customer and my kids are super happy we have a larger vehicle finally. I would do my car shopping with carmax again in the future, I just hope its a faster experience down the line.

Sold my Nissan Leaf to the Vancouver Carmax, could not be happier! The process was easy, beginning with an online questionnaire to get an estimated quote, good for seven days, and book the appointment. Local employee asks all the typical questions, takes a bunch of photos and a brief test drive, sends all the info to an appraiser somewhere else. Offer came back in under an hour in my case, and matched the online estimate. They paid off my loan and cut me a check for the balance. Easy, fast, friendly!

This place is great!!! My car was leased through Kia Motors Finance and paid off a full year ago. I went to sell my car to CarMax about a month ago and found out that KMF never sent the title or released the lien! CarMax had by far offered the best price for my car and I really wanted to sell it to them. Unfortunately without the lien release I had to wait. Once my paperwork finally got here, after a lot of hassle with KMF, my offer had gone down by about $500 for my car through CarMax. I explained the situation to them and they took care of me, and honored the original price since the situation was out of my hands. The staff here are super nice and helpful and I definitely recommend them! They didnt low-ball like the other dealers and just gave me an honest offer and did their best to make me walk out happy! Definitely recommend.

Came to sell an SUV that we no longer needed. They implemented an online appraisal system that lets me provide information about my vehicle before coming into the facility. Once I received an online appraisal, I could make an appointment to come in and finalize the process.The facility itself is clean and sanitized. It feels very inviting and the no pressure approach is very appreciative.All in all, a great experience and will probably be back when I need to replace my next vehicle.

Wow did Carmax disappoint. The moment we walked in a salesman was EXTREMELY rude to an elderly man who was hard at hearing. We originally came in to receive a trade appraisal on our leased vehicle and the appraisal we received was FAR from accurate. A seasoned salesman named Grace told us my vehicle was worth $6,000 less than what a dealership had offered us because vehicle packages dont matter to the value... and having THAT much negative equity is just how leasing works. First off, you guys dont even lease vehicles and I can first hand say that is NOT how leasing works AT ALL. Secondly, if you think having heated leather seats and 360 cameras over just fabric seats doesnt increase the vehicle value you have no idea what youre talking about. CLEARLY their customer service is lacking just as much as their knowledge of the industry.

My whole experience far exceeded my expectations. From the moment I walked in the door until the time I left I was treated with the utmost respect. This was by far the worst car buying experience I’ve ever had, things would seem to be on track and then Carmax would disappear for days on end. Then I would have to start all over with the next person. Their system is not as efficient as they think it is. You can’t call the local store you call into a central center. It’s just robotic and not personal, i didn’t feel like a customer but more like a number.

Love my experience still considering to buying a car here???

I had the WORST experience at this location. They passed me around to three different sales associates all who were pushing their own ideas and agendas on me even though I was clear on what I was looking for/wanting. Then when we found a vehicle we were wanting to test drive they told me that they could have it transferred for free and that they’d give me a call the next day. This is where the nightmare truly started. The next day came and we did not receive a call so we decided to call and ask for an update. It was extremely difficult to get ahold of anyone who wasn’t remote and therefore no one knew what was going on or the didn’t want to tell me. Eventually we found out that they had sold the vehicle to someone else and apparently they had submitted financing “seconds” before we had. I find this very difficult to believe and was treated very poorly by everyone along the way. I do not recommend going to any car max location after this experience. I am so disappointed in their customer service and transparency.

Overall, one of the easiest car buying experiences Ive ever had.I like the no-haggle format. Carmax lists the price and you decide if you like the vehicle enough to pay that price. Ive just completed the 30-day/1500 time period, during which you can return the vehicle for any reason. You wont get that from another seller.I had two service issues: A rock strike in the windshield (which wasnt visible on the rainy day I test drove) and a cracked plastic bumper pad. In both cases, when I contacted Carmax, Gabby (my sales rep) and Joe (Service) were on it immediately. One gripe: The truck could have used an interior detailing.My wife will need another car in a few months and we plan on giving our business to Carmax.

I arranged a time to have my used vehicle appraised. I was provided an initial offer predicated on final actual appraisal inspection and brought that with me to the Carmax in my vacinity.I was greeted immediately and noticed COVID-19 safety precautions were maintained - 6 floor makers, dispersed client interview table/desk activity and all were wearing masks.I was introduced to a client Rep. Sean. He explained what the process was and what needed to be done, then immediately began taking photos of my vehicle and then stated the appraiser and buyer would take about 20 minutes before presenting a final offer.Twenty 3 minutes later the rep. Sean returned and presented the buyers offer. It turned out to be $400 higher than the online appraisal offer!I was pleasantly surprised by how easy and relatively quick selling my vehicle was.Nice business model.

Customer service was excellent. From the moment you walk in, they greet you as friendly staff, there to help, not sell you a car. You’re free to look at any car and read the details right on it. If you wish to drive one, you’re given the keys and you go yourself. No back and forth up the street but a decent drive to really get the feel of it. The contract was explained as we went through it and there were no surprises. A better car buying experience than most I’ve had before

I found a car on the CarMax website that I wanted to buy but it was in Texas, so it had to be transferred to Washington state. CarMax arranged the transfer, made me an excellent offer on my trade-in and two weeks after first viewing the car, I drove away with it. The sales associates were very polite and helpful and overall it was an excellent buying experience.

This was they EASIEST and MOST relaxing car purchase ever. There was no pressure and haggling I was shocked as I’ve always experienced this with prior vehicle purchases. They gave me a good trade in value on my truck. I was pre approved for my loan and it literally took about an hour to complete the transaction after I chose my car. Gabby was a wonderful sales person. She was kind and helpful. When it’s time to upgrade my husbands truck we will be back.

Beware if selling a vehicle to Carmax! If you need the money right away its not going to happen, they give you a draft check that has a 7 day hold on it. The person who helped us failed to disclose this information even though we said we were going straight to cash the check to buy a new car. Just be aware of selling to Carmax, they get your car but you wont get paid for 7 days.

We have sold 2 cars here within 4 months and love it. We might have been able to get a higher price selling privately, but we didnt have to bother with advertising, detailing, handling phone calls that are just curious, waiting for no-shows and bothering with buyers that would want me to handle financing or other such matters. The paperwork is handled accurately and completely in one visit and is faster than trying to compose an ad.
