My wife lived in this community for 6 years, was a model resident and never paid late. The manager thought it was necessary to withhold her security deposit due to a “dirty fridge”. Make sure you document your home prior to move out and take a lot of pictures. The manager is petty and will try to take advantage of you.

Good luck talking to anyone from managment. Since the start of covid they have locked the doors to the office and have adjusted hours. No matter what time of day no one is there and when you bring it up, theyll get real defensive on why they werent there during the hours they have posted. When trying to call the office they screen your calls and never answer. For a 650 sq foot apartment paying over $900 a month youd think someone would answer the phone once in a while during normal business hours, but no and dont bother asking they will get mad and talk about how busy they are. Lived there for two years and still havent fixed a broken dryer that doesnt work.

The property itself is great. Beautiful and well kept. Where the issue lies is with this management company. My first reason for moving out is the way in which they handled the response to a complete country shutdown due to COVID-19. There was no concern for those who had lost their job and could not pay. Insensitive emails were sent out basically saying, you still have to pay your rent. I personally feel that couldve been handled WAY better. Second, once I moved out and the charges that had incurred. There was a tiny chip in the microwave, which I am being charged a full $250 for. The microwave was fully operational, had all its components and also was replaced a while back and had vent fans added on which is where the chip couldve potentially came from. They wont replace the microwave but are still okay charging full price for one. Super foul especially since I was a long term resident. They also require a ton of personal information upon lease NON RENEWAL. They literally hounded me for the reason I was moving out stating it was in my lease to tell them. I gave in a gave them a basic answer (because Im moving) because its not their business. The incompetence and unprofessional behavior is not worth for the price you pay. Proceed with caution.

How comes fixing the laundry machine is not urgent. They are very strict in taking their monthly payment on time but not fixing other’s issues on time. This is not the first or second problem I faced during my staying.

I have happily been living here for a decade because of the way Chelsea is run. From the Manager to the maintenance staff I could not wish for more caring or efficient service to their residents. They try so hard to accommodate our requests and done unbelievably quickly. They have kept us informed constantly with any updates during Covid -19 which is comforting. The grounds are kept impeccably and in winter driveway and walkways are cleared 1st thing in the morning. When I had a problem with our door lock they were on it immediately-within minutes!!!!I have been so happy here because Jennie and her staff really treat the residents like family. I am proud to be living at Chelsea Place!!

Just a few weeks after moving in earlier this year, I found out my building had a cockroach problem! I was already unimpressed with the apartment by that point, as the unit was not appropriately cleaned when I moved in (found multiple belongings left by previous owner, moldy dishwasher, etc.) which required a deep clean on my part. Once I woke up with a cockroach on my leg, Chelsea Place finally made arrangements to have an exterminator come out and examine the building. CP told me they came from a neighboring unit, while the exterminator told me the bugs were a result of the apartment complex failing to properly clean the A/C vents. I was still required to pay rent at CP while having to live with my parents while the exterminator came to examine the building several more times over multiple months. Several thousand dollars spent on rent later, and the problem was never fully taken care of. I am confident this was a continued issue as I even encountered the cockroaches outside of the building on the sidewalk. I also lived on the 2nd floor, had kept my unit extremely clean during the few weeks I actually lived there, and had not even gone grocery shopping for food yet. My consolation prize was that I was allowed out of my lease early. Save yourself the money and effort and look elsewhere.

The clubhouse is great and has everything I could think I might desire. It was clean and nicely decorated with a game room and theater room. Incompetent office staff / administration; at first, I was attracted to Chelsea place because it was one of the more reasonable-appearing and decent quality places in the Toledo area. The other residents were pleasant and the shared facilities were nice, but the actual quality of the individual units was lackluster. The real problem with Chelsea Place is the office staff and administrative personnel. They were unhelpful at best, at times rude and combative, and at other times just plan unprofessional and lazy.We moved out in late 12/2018 and provided 60 days notice, as requested in the original lease agreement. All rent was paid and settled and all that remained was the water usage bill to be paid from 1/1 - 1/6/19, the actual final day of the lease. We were told it would be mailed to us as it would not be clear what the final amount would be until after that date, understandably. Not only did we not receive the bill (despite leaving a forwarding address and the fact theyve had my cell phone number for the last 3.5 years I lived there), they sent us to collections over it.We never paid our rent late, we never missed any bills, and we never had any issues with our units. Rather than trying to make a real effort to contact us to clarify any discrepancies, they reported us to collections. No wonder their office staff turnover was so high while we lived there. Whoever is running the place is incompetent. Id recommend finding somewhere else to live and saving yourself the headache of dealing with them.

I warn you. Do not move here!! I have lived here for 2 years and I move next month. The property managers here do NOT care about their residents. When I first moved in the apartment was NOT clean. The maintenance left my door open multiple times while I was away. Someone could have stole things out of my apartment. One month my water bill was abnormally high because something was broken in my apartment and they still made me pay the high water bill. During this pandemic they have not sent out any courtesy messages to their tenants and instead sent out a message stating to still pay rent on time. I thought this was very insensitive and inconsiderate. Do not move here. You will regret it and its way too expensive to live here. Save yourself the headache

An amazing place to live! From the moment of me and my wifes application process to our eventual move-in date, Toufik Zaim has been an amazing asset in both assistance and guidance. He showed us around and took it upon himself to keep us up to date with requirements that we may have needed or missed. On top of that, he dealt with us like a person, not some business crony just looking to suck the money out of the next tenant.Weve had only the most minor of incidents involving our neighbors thundering above us, but ever since his and the managements intervention, its been a steady decline into more of a quiet, relaxed environment.A quiet neighborhood tucked away on the side of the road to the point you barely(if at all) hear any traffic.Dont believe the entitled whiners you see on this page. The majority of them confuse an Apartment Complex with Burger King and want it their way and immediately so.Chelsea Place is a wonderful place to live and I highly recommend it.(Just be considerate of your neighbors below you).

Moved in November 2017. The apartment was nice, they were quick to help. The front office staff are very friendly. My needs were addressed timely. Its quiet and the people Ive encountered have been very pleasant. PERK - The washer and dryer in the apartment is a great feature. One thing they could improve in; is making the process flow when signing the lease. Their paperwork stated I was able to review the apartment prior to signing the lease and I was not able to. They stated they couldnt change the paperwork. Also, the papers I signed with the maintenance man were for anything wrong with the apartment. He said to give the front desk a list and sign that I accept the apartment as is. Thankfully, my mom was there to witness that. So far, they have not disappointed.

I have lived in Chelsea place for almost 5 years and have never had any problems. The apartment is nice with great appliances and washer and dryer. Parking is ample. The grounds are clean and beautiful. The area is quiet and free of crime. Any time I needed help Maria was there for me. The maintenance staff was always great too. I would have stayed here for a few more years but I had to relocate to Columbus. I am moving into a sister complex in the same company that is how much I like this place. Gosh, similar experience as all others. Moving because of job to another state which should be at least considered for negotiation on exiting the property. They charge your for Early Termination the remaining months, even if the unit gets rented on those remaining months. In other words, they collect two sets of rents for the same unit, which is illegal in the state of OH. The way they go around it is, they call it a fee and they assure you theyre not charging you for the remaining rent, even though thats exactly what theyre doing. Its a nice complex, but I would caution newcomers to read these reviews prior to moving in and seriously consider going elsewhere. Check out how many folks here have been sent to collections, theyre more interested in ruining your credit than accommodating you as a neighbor. Buyer beware!

To Address some of the bad complaints i dont know who you are but this was a nice place to stay for me. Yeah it had it problems but what apartment complex doesnt. Ill break it down for yah, you will hear your neighbors when they are loud or if your really silent. Its just a result of the high ceilings and the thin walls. You may or may not smell your neighbors cooking, this can be good or bad depending on how you look at it. I think each unit has a washer/ dryer in it so that is a major plus for me. There is also a dishwasher fridge and microwave. My unit also had a decently sized walk-in closet i turned into a mini office. With all this youd wonder why i left, well that is a story for another day. Suffice to say my situation changed inexplicably and i had to find a bigger place. Yes, they will charge you if you move out early, even if they rent your unit to someone else. Its in the contract your signed with them on day one. But if you are nice and ask them if they would allow you to dissolve the lease agreement then depending on the situation they might agree. Same thing goes for rent and utilities its not their responsibility to monitor or alert you about your own accounts. You are responsible for contacting the utility company to update them on your moving situation. Did i mention they also rent garages, yes! I was on-board to get one of these but sadly the waiting list is very long and you have to put money up front for the garage. As for the clubhouse and theatre areas, and gym. Never used them myself, they give you a little fob you can use to get into the common area of the office even while the office itself is closed which is cool. But i never needed to use those facilities but its handy to know they are available when needed. There are some caveats to staying here too, mostly just small things, such as the thin walls, the cats oh boy! the cats!, also you might hear the occasional dog here and there. Also trash pickup was a nightmare at times there would be so much garbage you couldnt take your trash out. Hopefully they fixed this issue, also the parking was ok but i wouldve preferred assigned spaces or more garages. As i hear though they have a new management company now since the old one Morgan Communities got into a lot of trouble with the CEO. Not sure if the have the same management team either, look out for Jennifer, and Megan nice people. Bianca was cool to work with, also Rodney too if he still works there.

Weve had a few inconvenient experiences regarding inappropriate charges on our monthly bill and some odd interactions with employees but, Angela, the property manager has been super helpful at resolving any issues. Its inconvenient to have to involve the property manager but, it has unfortunately, had to happen a few times. The property as a whole is very nice, clean. You cant beat having a gym on the grounds, as well as a pool and access to grills. The units are nice, without a doubt priced way over market value but, they truly do offer a nice living space. This is a pet friendly facility though, youll be charged heavily for it. Fortunately for the community, we are obsessed with our cat so we pay for him without complaints. They also request photos of your pet so if they get out of your apartment, people are on the lookout to help find your missing pet, which is pretty nice.

Great facilities and maintenance staff but very poor customer service through my 2 years here and incompetent office staff. Moved out and was told to leave the final pro-rated balance and keys in the drop box over the weekend. Check was cashed. 4 months later, received a letter from collection agency out of the blue for a random $105 that was never billed to me by Chelsea Place directly, even though they have my new phone number and address on file. Upon calling to inquire if the charge was legitimate or not, the receptionist was mostly silent on the phone and let me know that someone else would have call me back. When asked when I could expect a call back, I was told that maybe tomorrow. Now, Im potentially stuck with a debt collection and credit score consequences (a new experience) over a bill I never received for an insignificant amount of money that I would have instantly paid had I been contacted directly. This was just 5 months after they tried to increase rent by $300 per month on a 6 month lease based on their computer systems. Get everything in writing/email if you rent here. Going to settle with the debt agency just to be done with this place.

I will grade the apartments as a whole on the following factors:(1) the apartments themselves;(2) the grounds;(3) the parking;(4) the charges and fees; and(5) the management. If I were to grade only the apartments and grounds this would easily be a four star review. However, there are more factors that go in to signing a contract as a tenant than just the quality of the neighbors and the construction of the apartments. The parking is not guaranteed to be in front of your apartment unless you buy a garage for an additional monthly charge. A minor inconvenience to be sure, but still an annoyance when the nearest dumpster is a 10 minute round trip walk.Where this property falls flat is the contract and the upper management. The billing system is on the revenue management model and the contract terms can be borderline predatory. For instance, if you were to file your intent to vacate at the 59 day mark instead of the 60 day required notice, you could potentially be charged up to 400% of your rent (whatever the month-to-month term is at the time) for a mandatory one month beyond that of your contract. Most property management companies will charge a premium for a month-to-month basis at 25% - 75% penalty in addition to your normal rent, but it seems that the Morgan communities (now Atlas property management) are more interested in collecting the penalty money for tenants that forget to read clause three of the rental agreement than they are potentially resigning anyone. I suppose the assumption from the companys standpoint is that it gives Atlas property management four months to rent the apartments out while it is empty without taking a loss.I write this as a tenant who had an interest in signing a long term deal so I would not have to worry about where I would be staying to finish graduate school. Ive never tendered a late rent payment and, at times, even paid early. I have reached out to the on site property managers and they have been very helpful. However, when I reached out to corporate to see if I could negotiate a longer term deal before my contract expired, I have left three messages with the regional property manager (Meg McCorgie) and one with the vice president of the property management company to receive no response back in one month. Ive been trying to give a company money and the upper management itself cannot be bothered to so much as return a phone call. Despite my interest in staying in the quiet community, I have to move if Im so much as aspiring to be a semi-rational consumer. In a building that houses twelve apartments, at least nine tenants have vacated in the past year.In summation, I am a tenant in good standing who has been literally trying to ask upper management for a potential longer term deal and they cannot be bothered to return a phone call in over a month which has forced me to look at other housing options. This is a great apartment if you are in need of a nice apartment with a quiet community for a short term, but beware of who you are entering the deal with as I am now paying the price. My question for future renters is: if upper management is unwilling to work with a tenant who had an interest in staying, how do you think they will treat tenants who are unhappy with the conditions?

When me and my husband first moved in the lights were not fixed the bathroom had orange spots and our laundry door was broken. The managment there is horrible i walked to the front to get a drink and the lady that works there asked me to leave she did not believe i lived there until i told her my husbands name. Then everytime we would call for help it took them 2 hours to respond and by that time we have already fixed it ourselves. One time i had a cig out side and this girl passed out in the parking lot so i asked her where she lived and i helped her back to the room and when i knocked the mother opened the door and was asking all these questioned asking if i lived here and who am i and started trippin so the neighbors are not friendly here. I have found dead bugs in my apartment and had to super clean my apartment especially around the front door. I would hear the neighbors upstairs at 2 in the morning either their dogs running around back and forth or them sweeping the floor and slamming doors. One night i heard children outside out door and they were running and screaming at 10 at night and running up the stairs. I do not recommend anyone to live In these apartments its not a very professional place and they just want the money.
