Fabulous first time experience with this Location. I had a 2021 Nissan Rogue which was fuel efficient and comfy as well. Over all check in and check out was super Fast. My car seemed well cleaned and sanitized. I will definitely rent again.

Car was ready on time and the counter folks at both ends were very nice and efficient. However, the car we rented had some weird shifting gears - we had no idea how to use them and struggled with that. This should have been explained when we picked up the vehicle.

1st, Im giving this place 3 stars because of (Katie) who was working Sunday night August 29th. I explained the situation below and she sincerely apologized for my experience exceeded my expectations of making things right. Im grateful to her and hope Alamo can use this as a coaching moment to management regarding the employee mentioned below. He was never rude and very friendly, but he was not prepared to handle the night shift by himself. He told me he had only been there a month.THE SITUATION: I traveled to Springfield Airport on Thursday night for a funeral and needed to make a 4 hour drive from the airport to be with family. My flight came in around 10:40pm Thursday 7/26. When I landed, I was already emotionally and physically drained. After grabbing my luggage, I stepped in the rental car line to get my car reservation. I waited in line for almost two hours. There were 42 people in the line ahead of me. Yeah, I know. Once it was my turn, there were no cars left (at least that is what I was told). The employee at the counter (after 20 minutes or so) finally handed me several keys and told me to go outside (after midnight) and look at the cars and pick one. I asked him where they were located and he said he didnt know. I asked him to come with me because it was dark and the parking lot is big, but he said he had some stuff to do before closing. I went out by myself and found the first car by repeatedly pressing the lock button in the air while roaming about an unfamiliar parking lot in an unfamiliar city after being awake 21 hours. (Unsafe!) The car was dirty inside and out. It had crumbs and(food) grease in the seats and leftover trash in the passenger and back floor, but I just wanted to leave the airport at that point. I was tired and told the Alamo employee that I would take the car because I was tired and just wanted to get to a nearby hotel and sleep. I told him about the condition of the car and he said he knew it was not cleaned and that it had not been checked in...hmm. Maybe thats why it took another 20 minutes to check me out. He then charged me a $300 deposit even though I was returning the car to the same place. I could keep going with details but I wont. After being handed disinfectant wipes (that I requested), I left the Alamo counter shortly before 1:30 am. And yes, I had to fork out more money for hotel to sleep for the night. Yes, I know. I didnt have the time or energy to deal with it over the weekend, so when I returned the car, I spoke with Katie. See beginning of the review.

Pick up and drop off was easy. The clerks were friendly. The car was spotless. The price was as advertised. Could use a bigger Alamo sign.

I rented a car over a month in advance. The day before picking it up I called to confirm the reservation and was told I can pick the car up any time before closing, since we have the reservation.When I got there we were told they gave the last car in the category we reserved away, so we were being downgrade. The inconsistencies with this company is ridiculous and then we were expect to pay the same amount to be downgraded? Absolutely appalling customer service.The representative was rude and wasnt willing to help until I went to the next counter (a competitor) to see if they could help. Ultimately we took the car from Alamo, because she magically had a more suitable vehicle for us (we didnt want a van or compact car), and she would give us a discounted rate for our troubles. The Ford was SO uncomfortable and we still paid a generous bill for the rental.Needless to say, I wont be using Alamo again.

Walked right by the Alamo window as there was not a larger sign that is viewable. However customer service within the vicinity is excellent. Do not like having to search the parking lot for my rental in space 30 of the parking lot. Need a curb side pull up service. It was 4 degrees outside that day!

My reserved size car was not available upon our arrival at the SGF airport. I was given the choice of two large pickup trucks, nothing else was available.We are seniors and it was not easy for my wife to climb into the cab. We had no choice but to take what was left over.We were staying about a hour from the airport. We came back the following day and was able to exchange the truck for the size we had originally reserved. This chewed into our limited vacation time and was not appreciated.Making reservations should ensure better service then what we experienced on this trip. We use Alamo more than any other car rental services and our past experience with Alamo has always be great.

We made our reservation through Costco. However, our flight was very delayed and the rental counter closed when we arrived. (Fortunately we had relatives who could pick us up at 1 AM!). The next day we were able to pick up another car but then had to re-negotiate the price which was tricky since we booked through Costco (multiple phone calls). When we finally were able to pick up the car, the only one left was an upgrade (Audi Quatro) but Alamo honored the original price, so no complaints. Just took a lot more unplanned time than needed to get it all straightened out.

I’m 22 years old and this was my first time renting a car. Alamo’s agents were really helpful with helping me through the process. Right when I landed in SpringField Missouri, I went to the counter and getting the car was a breeze! I will definitely be doing business with Alamo again!

Great experience. The counter stayed open late when our flight was delayed. The check back in was just a nice the attendant gave us plenty of time to unload and offered to help us with everything. Over all the Destin crew did amazing.

If I had the money to take this place to court I would. DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT rent anything from this place. When we first arrived to pick up our vehicle everyone was so friendly and nice, even when we returned it things went great. It wasnt until we got home we had been double charged by our card on file for everything we had already paid for at the Alamo Terminal. This place is as shady as it gets. They wait until your back home in another State to really RIP you off and when you try to contact them you dont get any answers. They will tell you to wait for a call back of 15 minutes and never call. $100 lesson learned. Dont be next.

Alamo Springfield Airport has a desk right near baggage claim. I got my car in less than 5 minutes, and returned car in less than 5 minutes. Gas station is less than a mile from the airport to fill up. My final bill was $6 more than my booking price that I had in writing, and they re-did the bill an honored the original price. The agent was very friendly and helpful. Alamo is a great value. They have my recommendation for quality cars and quality service.

The manager is extremely rude and left us without a vehicle even though we had a reservation. The manager stated You are not qualified to rent a vehicle from us! Terrible service and disrespectful of two disabled veterans. No one here cared that we needed the vehicle to get to my sick mother. No where in any reservation did it say anything about only being able to rent a vehicle with a credit card only. We had a debit card with enough money to rent 20 vehicles. We went to a competitor in town got a better rate and better service.

Thanks ALAMO for being so open and forward with us regarding all the added fees you threw on our bill after we returned our car rental from our family vacation!!!! Lesson learned. I cannot believe your company gets away with this type of sneaky service. I think additional fees amounting to OVER 30% OF THE ENTIRE BILL SHOULD BE BROUGHT TO THE ATTENTION OF YOUR CUSTOMERS at the time of checking in for their rental. I will never rent from you again.

Allegiant air and Alamo car rental scammed me out of $108 above the agreed price when I went through allegiant air booking a rental.Alamo charged me $108 when I turned the car in. told them I already paid them.The guy said it would be paid by allegiant air BUT it was charged to my card.

Got to their counter and they said I had to use a credit card even though in town locations dont. I didnt bring a credit card with me only my debit card! Im staying with family in Willard and because I dont have a departing flight out of this airport they wont let me rent with my debit card. Another family member dropped me off on their way to Joplin and now I have to wait at the airport for my brother to drive across Springfield to put his card on file in person because they also wont allow me to call my roommate in Denver and have her read off the info from one of my credit cards at home. Their reasoning was that they have had foreigners steal cars. I have a CO drivers license, assets owned in my name and am a US citizen. Why would it even matter if people from another country have driven off with your cars? Nothing in the reservation mentioned this. They should make reservation confirmation calls and TELL PEOPLE if they arent going to make it easy for people to know beforehand that they do things differently at the airport. Terrible communication practices that result in a terrible customer experience inconveniencing me and waisting the time of my family members.

Car supplied was as advertised! Clean and in excellent mechanical condition, I had no complaints. It was a pleasure to work with all the Alamo personnel we came in contact with. Return procedures were swift and efficient. I will definitely rent from Alamo on my next trip.

Would never rent from ALAMO again. If I could have given this 0 stars I would have. This car rental was out of the VPS Fort Walton Beach/Destin FL airport. It is already a pain renting cars from this airport as ALL car rental companies at this airport tend to run out of cars fast. My wife was the one that booked the rental through our flight which was Allegant, but paid with MY credit card. When we got to the counter the attendant told me that she was the original one who booked it so she was to be the driver. I then told the attendant that she would not be driving and that I would be the only driver so please put me as the driver and take her off. That apparently could not be done. They informed me that I would have to pay an additional $75 per extra driver and they could not change us out. They blamed it on booking it through Allegant and that there was nothing that they could do. Also be careful of the airport taxes and fees because that added another $100 on top of that. So I had to pay an additional $175 on top of my already paid for rental car. To top it off they were out of the care we requested and upgraded me to a slightly larger car I didnt want. At the end of our trip once we returned the car, they asked how our experience was and I explained the above. They then told me that and I quote If we were to give you your $75 back would you be able to leave us a good review? SERIOUSLY??? They were trying to bribe me my money back that they took for no good reason for a good review. I hope that this helps someone make a well-informed decision about at least renting from ALAMO. Wouldt recommend to anyone.

I made a reservation over a month in advance through Cheap O Air for my mother. Since she didnt have a major credit card for them to swipe physically (she was paying in cash) when she arrived to pick up the car, they would not honor the reservation, and since I booked through a 3rd party, they have no authority to return my deposit. They were unable to use the credit card I made my deposit with, nor were they able to take my information over the phone, and now my sixty-four year old mother is left to drive another hour back home with no car. Thanks Alamo!
