The staff is professional and reasonable. Wont do any work without notifying you and receiving your permission. The staff showed me what they worked on and were personable when waiting on repairs. The work is done in a timely manner so I didn’t feel like I was overpaying for labor. They provide solid discounts for your first visit and military discount for any visit afterwards.

Had car towed, they had it diagnosed and parts ordered same day. Was back on the road the next day. Quick turn around, honest shop. Recommended.

I scheduled an appointment the day before my appointment and received a confirmation email. When I showed up to the shop for my appointment, they apparently couldn’t find me in the system, but “fit me in”. I went in to repair my blower motor. I dropped off my car around 12:45. Around 3:30, I still hadn’t heard from them, so I called and I was told the mechanic was just now looking at my vehicle. The shop closes at 5:30 and at 5:10 I still had yet to hear from them. I had to call again to check and was finally told about my repair. If I didn’t call, I’m sure I wouldn’t have heard from them until the following day. I’ve had several vehicles repaired at multiple different shops and this is the first shop I’ve had to charge me a diagnostic fee. Typically, shops will charge a diagnostic fee if you choose not to repair through the shop, but I did choose to do the repair and I was still charged the $115 fee. After I complained they said they could get me a new customer discount. Which of course is appreciated, but it’s the principle. The man on the phone said it took an hour to diagnostic my vehicle (which I know is untrue since I knew what was wrong with my vehicle initially) so “they have to pay the guy somehow.” Even then, my car was held at the shop for five hours, with no communication, yet it only took one hour to diagnose the vehicle? Not sure why it was held there so long. Both my boyfriend and I were looking for a new shop since our mechanic shut down during COVID and we were hoping this was going to be our new spot. After this experience, I won’t be back.

What a great shop! I brought in my MIL’s car for a check engine light. They were able to check the car right then and the mechanic even stayed through his lunch break to get us answers quickly.Her engine ended up needed a lot of TLC, but the repairs and costs were explained very candidly. Not like some places where you don’t really know what you’re being billed for.The next day a tire warning light came on. We brought it back and they didn’t charge anything to find a fix the issue - low pressure on the spare tire.Very good customer service and will certainly be coming back in the future.

This was the first time to Sanford Auto Service for an oil/filter change for my Miata MX-5. They were professional the service was done on time and correctly. Sanford Auto Service is in my neighborhood of Castle Hills. I will return for future service on my other cars as well.

I just moved to San Antonio and drove my car from Los Angeles. I asked Sanford to do a full inspection and let me know any/all work that was needed. To my amazement, all I needed was a new tail-light and some work on my rear brakes. The price was great, the work was done the next day, and Ron delivered amazing customer service. My first experience with this repair shop was excellent. My car broke down over the weekend and AAA recommended this shop. They towed my car on Sunday to Sanford, which was closed. I left my car there and keys in the lockbox. I called Monday morning and the guy who answered was pleasant and polite on the phone. He said hed get it looked at and call me with the diagnosis. They kept me informed through the whole process and checked in with me everyday while they had my car. I felt the price was reasonable and the service was excellent.

All the repairs were reasonably priced and a thorough inspection was done. This is not one of those shops thats going to overcharge you and do half a$$ work. Definitely check them out 😊

Window on my car suddenly would not go up on Thursday before the Memorial Day holiday weekend. Having only one day (Friday) to get it repaired before the long weekend, I called Sanford in the hope that they could take care of it. Not only did they do the repair, they searched around for a reasonable price on my older car model replacement part. Very pleased with the staff and the service.

Took my 2008 Chevy Trailblazer in making weird noise. They diagnosed and repaired issue in less than 1 day. Alternator bearings and a Leaking Gasket. They did a fine job, kept me informed and also let me know what other things may need to be done since the car has 150,000 miles on it. Not pushy salesman just letting me have the information so that I could make the best decision and when I did they went to work. Will definitely be back to get other needed work done.

I’m a new resident to San Antonio, I was looking for a reputable car shop in the area for my wife and I and we found Sanford. Got my car in two days after I called. The day of they diagnosed the problem AND fixed it all in the same day. Gave me a 20% discount for being a new customer and explained everything they did. I just have to tell you that these men are fantastic. I was driving my daughter to school last week when my truck started to die. I was headed East on 410 and was lucky enough to be able to pull over. I called my friend who knew a mechanic. I called Sanford immediately and they were able to get a tow truck out to me in a short period of time. In the meantime, my husband was able to pick us up to continue our day. During the day I was in constant communication with them. They explained everything that was needed and the cost for everything. I thought I would have to wait until the next day to get my truck, but nope, it was ready by the end of the day. As it turned out the fuel pump went out and they were able to replace it right away. I had my oil changed too. I love the professionalism and timeliness of the whole experience. Remember if you need help call these guys.

I cant effectively express how impressed I am with Sanford Auto Service. I took my vehicle in for a second opinion on a repair and they came in minimally higher than a national competitor. After presenting the estimate to them, they worked with me and provided a revised estimate that was less than the competitor. They could have easily matched it but went even further to gain my business...needless to say, I opted to go with them. They did a great job on my vehicle and communicated every step of the way. Not once did I feel like I couldnt trust them. Post repair, the owner contacted me to followup on the level of service that I received and wanted to make sure that everything was working properly. In addition to that followup, he contacted me once more (several weeks later) to check again. I believe in their integrity and willingness to do the right thing. The company I work for uses Sanford Auto Service for fleet services and has always been very pleased with the work performed. When I needed work done on my personal vehicle I called and spoke with Steve and received a prompt estimate. I scheduled an appointment and dropped off my vehicle before work that morning. Steve called me shortly after to let me know that not all the work we discussed was in fact needed. He gave me new pricing and I gave the approval to do the work. My vehicle was ready that afternoon and it was incredible how much better my vehicle handled. Everyone was very courteous and professional and the pricing was very competitive. I would definitely recommend Sanford Auto to my friends and family and will take my car back if I need additional services.

Great experience! It took a while for them to repair, but it was worth the wait because my car is now in excellent shape! A lot of regulars came in and out and it felt like a family atmosphere. You won’t be disappointed.

These guys are the very best. I just moved into the area and needed emergency work done on my pick up truck. Bill and Steve took me right in and spent the whole day doing major front end ball joints replacements, rods replacements and alignment. Professional, courteous and reasonable prices on everything. I brought my Mini Cooper S to Sanford for a front wheel alignment. (After slamming into a curb). The mechanic was extremely knowledgeable of, not just cars in general, but of the Mini Cooper. This is hard to find. He was prompt and efficient. The owner was personable, polite, and very willing to work with me if I needed any other work. I have already recommended this shop to several other people and will be taking my other vehicles there for future service needs.

Sanford Auto has provided our family and vehicles fantastic and very responsive service. When the engine in our vehicle failed, the dealer wanted to charge us more than $2000.00 over what we payed at Sanford. The dealer wanted to install a replacement engine with over 40,000 miles. Steve at Sanford found us a very low mileage engine and installed it in a matter of days with no hidden or last minute costs.

I have been going to Sanford Auto Service for at least 15 years. I thought when I bought my Honda Odyssey, I should take it to the dealership. Well, I realized dealerships price gouge you to keep up their elaborate facilities. I dont need that. All I want is an honest person and reasonable pricing for repairs. I remember several years ago, I thought I might need new brake pads. So, I took it in and Sanford Auto said, no you are good to go for a few more years. Any other, automotive repair place would have tried to take advantage of my naivete, and charged me for replacing brakes that were still in good use. This is what I have been given over the last 15 years, honest, good pricing, and I will continue for ever and a day. And the owner Steve is awesome!!!

Excellent service. Took my BMW X5 in for an A/C recharge. The process was quick and painless and the waiting room was cool and comfortable with plenty of bottled water and k-cups for coffe. The a/c works beautifully now. Really great pricing! So happy I went there. Highly recommend!

I took my car in because it kept dying and suspected it was the alternator. I went in and Steve was very professional and the process to get started was quick and easy. He initially told me it would be ready on Monday which I understood since it was Saturday. I get a call and he said it could be done same day. It was awesome. Being 2 hours from home I googled DIESEL REPAIR NEAR ME and several options appeared but Steve at Sanford was the first call because of the good rating and reviews. After having van towed to Sanford, Steve took over and kept me updated on van repairs needed. He even met me on Saturday which normally they are closed, so that I could pick up van when I had a ride to San Antonio. I would recommend Sanford to others in need of quality auto repair.

I highly recommend Sanford Auto Service! This past summer they replaced my A/C system and I was very pleased with the work and price. Most recently I had an issue with a leak in my coolant system. I had an oil change done at a chain automotive shop near my home. While doing my oil change they said I had several leaks in my coolant system that required several parts to be replaced. They quoted me over $600 for parts and labor.I decided to take my car to Sanford for a second opinion. After looking over my car , they discovered it was the radiator cap that was leaking. Left there paying under $100 for a simple repair.Thank you Sanford Auto Service!!

Good experience with Steve and his shop. I brought a list of recommended maintenance based on my mileage and he was able to take care of everything pretty quickly. He explained what all was done and the state of my car. Theres a Vietnamese restaurant next door called Viva Pho which is a nice place to wait and get some good food.

All I can is, what great group of guys! I had some after market wheels shipped directly to Sanfords and the wheel company forgot to ship my new lug nuts that I had ordered. Steve was nice enough to loan me a set of lugs nuts until my prepaid lug nuts came in. Now that is A1 customer service in my book. Thanks again guys.

Good experience with the shop. Fast and honest. Didn’t hear the ol “we also found.....” that you hear from most mechanics. Was very honest and instead of replacing everything only fixed what was wrong with my brakes and let me know the percentage left on the others. Will trust again and should have came here for prior fixes!

When I began having slight concerns about my four year old car a few months ago, I decided to begin looking for an honest mechanic. I think we’ve all been burned before, and I didn’t want to find myself stranded and forced to use just anyone and pay whatever they felt like charging me. After scouring reviews on every site I could find, Steve and Sanford topped my list.I called to set a time to have them evaluate my transmission, not expecting them to do it that day, but they did. When they couldn’t get it to miss as I described, Steve called to ask if they could keep it overnight and try again the next day. I said yes, they did, and Steve tried himself to no avail. He called to tell me all was well and that there would be no charge. What a pleasant surprise! So, I asked him to check out why my headlight kept burning through bulbs. An hour later he called back, had it figured out, and charged me less than $50.Of course, at this point, I’m a fan, so when my car refused to give my keys back the other day, I drove it straight to Sanford. Steve assigned a mechanic to the job immediately who had a diagnosis in an hour. The gist of it was that my entire gear shift and ignition needed to be replaced. After hearing that my dash and center console would have to be pulled apart to do the repair, the price in my head was well over $1500. So, although I didn’t say so at the time, when Steve said $600, I was relieved and it confirmed that I had chosen the right place. It was 5pm, so I left it with them, and Steve called me before noon the next day to say it was finished. The price was exactly what he had quoted me - no surprises - and it is working like champ.I recommend with 100% confidence!

Came here to have racanpinion replaced on caddy the mechanic new what he was doing I had previously had catalityc converters replaced by someone else apparently one of them was to long causing it to rest on high pressure lines of raconpinion and caused it to damage line the mechanic kept saying it was to long but that was part it called for so they ordered another and sure enough it was to long they replaced the racanpinion and got catalytic replaced under warranty they took care of me and made sureci was getting best price on parts and trying to save me money very impressed
