Sgt Clutch get 5-stars from me. In my eyes, should be “5-Star General Clutch”. The owner Mike has at least 25 years directly in the business and is honest, professional, and excellent at communicating the issue(s) and working to resolve in a timely matter. Furthermore, his team is very loyal and many have been around for years. That says a lot when you have extremely low turnover in the automotive repair industry. Highly recommend this establishment for your transmission needs!

My cars transmission decided it was going to stay in drive and not move. I called this garage and they got me right in. Unfortunately the dealer that they were getting the part from kept promising a quick turnaround which did not happen. I called several times a day and the person answering the phone was always pleasant to me. They knew my frustration of not having my car and never treated me badly. If I have any complaints it would be: communication would have been nice I was the one to call them for details.Would I recommend this place to get work done: 100%. All in all they were wonderful to deal with.

Im all honesty, these guys and gals are the best there is. They have an incredibly esthetic shop and their staff is dialed into all things automotive. When you take your vehicle in, they dont just get your name and phone number and let you hope for the best. They actually ENGAGE the problem set, all questions, and will not try smoke and mirrors to get you out of the shop.I love this app and these people!!!

Knowledgeable and Courteous Staff With Solid Work. Took my driveshaft in to have a new center support bearing pressed on. I usually perform all of my own repairs, but the smart mechanic knows when the repair is beyond his abilities and takes it to a professional. Not only did they take care of the problem, but they did it for me on a Saturday and on a walk in basis. Michael is a very solid guy and has worked hard to build a knowledgeable team that can tackle anything driveline related. Highly recommend this business.

The staff is exceptional especially Jose! It did take a little longer than I expected to get my 2008 F150 back but it was due to the high volume of vehicles at the shop but any time I called and asked for an update they were always quick to let me know what was going on. After they diagnosed the issue Jose gave me a call back and walked me through everything and now that I’m driving my truck again it feel as good as new, I definitely recommend bringing any vehicle here if you want high quality work done!

07/2020Ford Mustang GT 5.0My first visit I had come in for a clutch master cylinder and pedal replacement due to wear and tear.Took a few days for parts to be ordered and delivered by ford, understandable. Impressively they were able to replace parts the same day the items shipped in, the vehicle ready for pick up. I was very pleased.Update** 4/15/2021I came back for the same issue due to the clutch pedal assembly breaking once again. Sgt clutch honored their warranty and replaced bad parts at no charge. I was def most pleased!I plan come back in the near future to see about their other auto services.

I have a 2016 Ford Fiesta SE that decided to break down after going through a drive through. After two failed attempts to get it to a shop (and a misdiagnosis at one) Sargent clutch towed my car (didn’t charge me upfront for it bundled it into the price of service thankfully). They let me know from the start what they thought was wrong how much parts were, how much labor was, and how long it would take to get done. 5 days (2-3 was just waiting on parts to get to garage), 2 major replacement parts (hoses for cooling system and coolent tank or radiator whatever it’s called), and a test drive to ensure it was working I had my car back functioning even better than normal. Family owned, very kind, and won’t overcharge like big chains. Don’t go anywhere else.

Took my 2012 F150 to Michael and his team at Sergeant Clutch to fix my coolant leak, get a full time up and switch out both belts. They find the jeans within an hour and got me great quote. Schedule two storage days and had me in and out within an afternoon. Highly recommend checking them out, they beat everyone elses price by a mile.

I cam in for a service that was supposed to be the motherboard to my car while i was told the price at the dealership was 845 i called multiple dealers and was told it is 300 for the same part that was mentioned after i explained that to the owner i asked were the rest of it was going the owner stated that i dont work there so he isent able to tell me so basically tried to pocket the money for himself while still charging the labor and the programming fee also i do believe that the owner was working on my car and his moms car and i do believe that he switched some of my car parts with hers because i took my car up there working and when i picked it up it didnt start and days before it was working. so i wouldnt recommend this auto shop because they arent reliable and i also wouldnt suggest them either because the triple a worker also stated this is the 3rd car that was towed from this car lot and i was the 3rd customer that was upset about it . seemed to be so typical from what they have done to my car

I truly cant say anything bad about the services because I never had a chance to use them. The two people i did speak with were very polite. Im glad I applied for the financing before I let them pick up my car. Even though they say you dont need ANY credit I was denied. Got my hopes up on getting my car fixed its been down almost 5 months

But with that comes good warranty on parts and labor!ive taking two of my vechile one I paid for entirely the other was warranted but I felt with zero headaches! They handled everything smooth ! Do not use this shop! They charged $230 to replace 4 spark plugs! Thats not even factoring in the labor! They called when it was time to pick up the car to say they had discovered an extra $500 in repairs the car needed.

Did a transmission repair with them try to apply for financing but didnt get approved came up with the money within a week went back so I could get my vehicle and said that they didnt have it there I had to go pick it up somewhere else so when I went to go pick it up some guy cutting his lawn was using my vehicle to do his service he said he knew the guy from the shop I said he could go ahead and use that vehicle never will i go back poor job on tranmission any was it jus last about 9 months

These guys were great. I had an issue with what I would have sworn was my transmission (my car wouldn’t accelerate past 1st gear). They got me towed the same day I called and performed the diagnostic the same day as well. Turns out a bad battery was throwing everything out of wack. I am a woman and I will admit I often feel like male mechanics will try to pull a fast one on their diagnostics, but these guys were honest and did not try to “up sell” me on lots of recommended services. They also didn’t try to take me to the cleaners for a simple repair. I would definitely take my cat to them again.

Buzzards clutch ((Michael) the silver toung Prince is the person I was dealing with. This is the shadiest place ever the signs are lies. No free inspection, $50 diagnostics to $500, and service that blows. I had my car towed here that was a very bad mistake.I was promised no charge to check and nothing would be done to my car without my permission. I called yesterday to check on my welcome to car they said they wouldnt start on the car at all until they got $900 the flywheel, hydrolics, and clutch need to be replaced. Total 1900 in repairs what?Since my last reviewI have come to a realization I apologise for my candor. Ive been really stressed out lately I think sergeant clutch has been very professional and decent. I am sorry for my hasty attitude.

Worst experience they make you pay more because there mechanics are supposedly certified and experienced but no I paid more one time for them to do my brake booster a year ago and I had to take my truck back 3 times because they couldnt get the calibration correct.

I brought my car in Wednesday at 5pm, so they couldn’t get to my car because they close at 6. Then I wait Thursday still no update call, mind you they were just doing a diagnostic test which takes at the most 2 hours. I didn’t hear anything so I called at 1pm. Guy says “ let me check “ “ oh yeah the test is done, tells me what’s wrong. I say ok fix it. Simple things that take a couple hours each. Friday comes, still nothing . I’m here Saturday now, it’s 12pm , they close at 2pm and they say they are waiting for a part so they can put it in. I just need my car, I do have a funeral to get too. They are bad at communicating.

I was a TDCJ cadet in Beeville this past September . I was enroute to the academy when my suv broke down coming off IH37 South & US 59 to get to my unit, then all of a sudden , my explorer sputtered and died. I was heartbroken because I love my suv and originally got it as my moms baby shower gift years ago. I had SGT Clutch rebuild the transmission on the very same vehicle (back in 2016) so when I had it towed from Beeville after I graduated, I dropped it off after hours while coming back to San Antonio and called them prior to coming earlier in the week to explain to them what happened to it . The office personnel was very polite and professional. It took probably 3 days before they were able to start working on it and I already figured the Fuel Pump cr*pped out after doing my own diagnostics and the starting fluid test . They confirmed my suspicions and gave me a quote of $595 to replace the fuel pump assembly and the fuel filter at my request . The job only took 2 days to do and I told them I was going to pick it up on Saturday when I was off and they held it for me . When I came to pick it up , I used the Snap financing (outrageously sky high interest , like 50% interest) and the fee from Snap was only $39 which is worth it to have my baby back . I used Confident Financial Solutions which were more cheaper in the past but wasn’t Re approved with them again. But overall yes they are pricy but that’s any mechanic shop that has to order and pre pay for your parts which is why you’re charged more . And heck , which other shop will finance your sh*tbox’s vehicle repair? Nobody else that I know of . Thanks SGT Clutch !

The staff was great but I feel they overcharged me. For a complete brake job (brake, disc, and calibers) it cost 725 dollars. Never got a brake down of the costs so no idea how much labor and parts where. Never going back there.

I took my minivan to Sergeant Clutch last October and was astounded by their honesty. The day before taking my van to Sergeant Clutch, my battery was replaced and the next day my vehicle started shifting erratically. At 180,000 miles, I thought the transmission was going bad. The next morning, I joined a SC tech on a test-drive to diagnose my issue. I mentioned the battery was replaced, and he taught me that my transmission needed to me electronically reset after disconnecting the battery. That was all! He plugged in a small hand-held computer to the underside of the dashboard and 3 minutes later my issue was solved. No charge. I was thrilled. They were PROFESSIONAL, FAST, AND HONEST. I was prepared to spend my hard-earned money and would have, too. Sargent Clutch has won my trust and all my future business because they prove they do the right thing because it’s the right thing to do. Try them, you won’t be disappointed.

My experience with them was very poor. I had my car towed there after it lost power while driving back in June. Since I was so close to that shop I had it towed there by my insurance. Well, the first thing they did was run a diagnostic on my car. On my paper work 4 codes came up from the diagnostic they ran. One of those code clearly stated the TCM was bad. TCM is the transmission control module. They called me back and told me my clutch was bad. And, it needed to be replaced. They quoted me $2443.96 would be the price to fix it. So, I financed this to get my car fixed. Well, after the changed the clutch, it still did not work. It they would have looked at the codes the FIRST time it showed it was the TCM. So, now they want to charge me $1000.00 extra to fix the TCM!!! So, I told them do not touch my car. I came in and gave him 364.00 plus gave him 50.00 to process the loan thru Snap....their finance company. When, my car finally reached Ford, the tech said after looking over the paperwork and the codes it CLEARLY stated the issue was the TCM. Then, once they looked at the clutch they put it they BROKE the locking tabs off in the clutch!!! So, they had to send them another 2 more clutches to fix their mistake. To make along story short they clearly MISDIAGNOSE MY CAR FROM THE BEGINNING!!! Now I am stuck with this outrageous bill. I have to pay $412.00 for 24 months!!!!! Do not take your car to that shop. They are not HONEST and will charge you MORE. I have all my paperwork and statements from FORD!!!!!!

This was probably the WORST mechanic shop in San Antonio. When I first went to drop my car off the police were already there dealing with a problem with management & a customer WOW. I asked the customer what happened because I’m a new client they explained the management is crooked an overcharged. So when I went to pick up my car from service there was again another problem with the manger MIKE an an assistant lady. Long. Story folks DO NOT BRING YOUR vehicle here . I called several shops for prices, I had about three call back to give me a ball park figure. Everyone quoted between $2,500 through $2,800. Sergeant Clutch quoted $1,500.Man, what a mistake!!! These people are straight up crooks!!!He said it would be a $600 fee to take it down and look for the problem then he can price it, which is understandable. He also said the $600 would go to the price of the repairs. I asked again, how much for yall to rebuild?Never gave me any real answers.🤔After a few days he called and said it was a special type of transmission.😧 about $4,900 and they do financing! Financing?!I dont want to re-buy my vehicle, dude!!!I called other shops in desperation and thank goodness I found someone honest.$1,600.00 Allied transmission.If you like giving your money away to a crock, call sergeant clutch...

2 months ago on a Sunday Afternoon in the Summer Texas heat on loop 1604 my Jeep overheated. Thankfully Sergeant Clutch answered the call and quickly sent a tow truck. By Monday morning they began repairs on the “Entire cooling system” and by Wednesday morning I was back on the road. My vehicle has ran great since and has not overheated. Thank You Sergeant Clutch you over exceeded my expectations !

Had my 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe worked on. I called on a Thursday to get my timing belt, water pump, etc replaced. They were able to see me immediately on Friday morning to get the car worked on. They quoted me at a lower price than anyone else in San Antonio (about $150 below the average cost everywhere else), gave me a nice military discount, and it all came with a 1 year warranty. They got the job done in less than 24 hours. Overall, I was very happy with their professionalism, expediency, and price to get the job done.

If you would like to know what’s tremendously wrong with your business, here it is: 1. Do not quote a price and then dramatically(!!!) increase that amount when it comes down to your customers paying. This is a very unethical business practice that will discourage customers from ever doing business with you again. 2. Treat your customers with RESPECT! This is where you business needs the most improvement. You are very rude to the people that are paying you for your services and this is just plain wrong. Even the way you respond to all of the negative reviews on Google demonstrates that you don’t value the feedback your customers give you. Instead of trying to defend all of your actions, just thank your customers for their feedback and let them know that you’ll work on improving your business (and actually do it). It’s that simple.

Do not go here. Service- clutch repairThey over charged ($3000 roughly) and kept pushing back the pickup time without calling and letting me know and adding parts that needed to be replaced after the initial inspection. Labor- $100 per hrAlso they killed my car battery that only had three years and when they gave the car back they said it was having a hard time turning over, but I didn’t have that problem before I took it in. My car died on the highway as I drove it away from the mechanic.

My boyfriend took his car in for a simple clutch repair three weeks ago. He recently just got the car back after so many more repairs were suggested and now the car won’t even start!! The main guy that sits in the front wearing gold jewelry is very rude and condescending! My boyfriend paid $2880 for his car to not work now!!! DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS GUY!! Absolutely dissatisfied with the service he was given, and the length of time it took to get the car back only for it to not run anymore.

The Clutch on my sons Honda Civic went out, I bought new clutch, pressure plate and throw out bearing and we called Sgt clutch for a quote on installing the parts, and resurfacing the fly wheel. We arranged for them to pick up the car, which we were charged for, even though their website says free towing with repair, and waited, 8 days, 8 days for a clutch job, which were told would take one to two days, every day after the two to three days we would call and only be told one more day, one more day, one more day...for again, a total of 8 days, 8 days of rental car payments, and to top it off, they were rude about it. ...finally get the car back, and its making noises it never made before....took it to another mechanic and was told the throw out bearing was put in wrong. I call Sgt Clutch and was told to take it back...after having it for 2 more days, was told nothing was wrong...and they wouldnt look into it any further since we brought in our own parts, which was never explained that bringing in our own parts would be any kind of issue. To make matters worse, they undid some wiring under the dash and did not reinstall the wiring, the radio was on a Spanish channel my son doesnt listen to, and gas tank was on empty when had half a tank, as verified by another source that was in the car just the day before it was towed. I should of looked around and found someone else....and listened to all the negative reviews on the Internet and the BBB. BEWARE of this place....the financing company was awesome, no problems, and should of looked into other shops they finance through. Thanks for nothing Sgt clutch.Since Google does not give a chance for response after business puts in their two cents in, I will add here.....The car was picked up the very next day after the shop was called, not SEVERAL days, and you still do not explain the reason why we were told several times that the car would be ready the next day, apparently after reading other reviews this is an issue, and always with an excuse. And please do not insult me about the parts that I purchased, I purchased recommended parts, not cheap parts from some unknown place. And yes, a throw out bearing can be replaced backwards, very easily, just because I am female, doesnt mean I do not know. We will be taking the car to another mechanic, and will be getting a report of the issue!!!!!

I wanted to take the time and express the satisfaction and great service that I received. I recently had my transmission repaired at Sgt Clutch Discount Transmission on my 2007 Pontiac Torrent. Im proud to say that when I spoke with the manager Robert, he told me that he would take care of me, and that he will have my car running like brand new. Its going on 2 weeks since my SUV has been out the shop, and its running just like he promised. My car is 2014 model 2WD with 50000 miles.I noticed I had noise with breaks so I went to sergeant clutch to get a quote.The person who checked my brakes told me that my break pads are so thin, it needs to be changed immediately and resurfaced with very concerned voice and face when he reported it to his boss/service manager at front desk.They quoted 450 for both front and back brake pads and labor.However I had my inspection 4 month ago and at that time, I was told my breaks are 60%Good.I was concerned because I didnt expect brakes to be that bad within 4 months of uses with about 5 miles per a day.So I decided to go get second and third opinion including the dealer shop.Guess what both said.. I have about 50 %of front break life left and no need to change the back breaks for any time soon.I was so glad i went to go get second and third opinion. And I was told factory brakes ( original one from car manufacturers) could make some noise because of debris or moist.If you want honest mechanic for simple jobs, dont go there because they think you are an easy paycheck.

This place can not fix tire right they need better worker better skills they need go back to school learn better

Took my car in 2 weeks ago for what I believed was an oil leak and a strange noise that had just started happening on the car. Paid the $50 diagnostic fee for them to tell me that my O2 sensor was bad and that my engine may be leaking oil. (SOMETHING I ALREADY KNEW) When I called up there the gentleman was very rude and told me that my car was perfectly fine and drove great. and that they weren’t sure where the oil leak was coming from. that I would have to pay $1000 to have my engine taken apart to pinpoint the issue. We argued back-and-forth and they finally agreed to look at my car again. I took the vehicle back up there less than an hour after picking it up and right away they told me that my exhaust manifold had a crack in it. So obviously they didn’t do their job correctly the first time or they would’ve seen the issue. I had the car fixed in less than two days Which was fast, I give them that. Two weeks later my fiancé breaks down on the side of the road and had to have the car towed back to the house. Mind you in the two weeks the vehicle was barely driven because I was so scared about the oil Issue and they weren’t able to tell me why it was happening. I took the vehicle back up there the next morning and let me tell you... the big fat man in the front did not look surprised to see me. almost like he was expecting me to come back. So once again I left the vehicle with them and it took them four days just about to get back to me and tell me that my catalytic converter was bad. and that it would cost me $1300 to replace. I picked the vehicle up and took it to another mechanic for a second opinion. I was informed that whoever replace the exhaust manifold did not do it properly. He also said somebody had cut into my exhaust and then welded it back up but did it wrong. They also did not tighten the bolts all the way, which caused the vibration to re-crack where it had been welded. Not only that I was told that my O2 sensor had been knocked, Bent or hit. whatever you want to call it. My stepfather went back up to Sergeant clutch asking who had done the work and why was it done this way and of course they denied all accusations. They said whoever previously owned the car Must have done that to avoid replacing the Catalytic converter. Mind you I’ve had the vehicle for almost a year and not once had any issues. Not only that I was told by the second mechanic why they didn’t push fixing the O2 sensor because that is what more than likely caused the exhaust manifold to crack and the converter to go out. Which I guess if it took me going up there and complaining for them to even do their job correctly and to see that there was a crack in the exhaust manifold, How could I ever expect them to do their job and tell me that my O2 sensor needed to be replaced. If I were you I would stay clear of Sergeant clutch . They are scammers, and they are the reason why I am out $1300. Because had they been honest and done their job correctly this would be a good review. So thanks for nothing. DO YOUR JOB CORRECTLY OR NOT AT ALL. 👏🏻

I took my car here hoping I had found a mechanic to help me keep my baby running good. Great customer service, towing and financing were great, biggest complaint I had is the fact that I feel strung along. I understand things dont always go as planned, but dont tell me it will take 2 days then every day after tell me tomorrow that just frustrates me. Stick to your deadlines or be honest of it takes a damn week tell me Ill be less pissed about it. Check bbb

Sergeant clutch is one of the best transmission shops you can go to they provide the best service you can ask for I have had my trucks worked on there and never had a problem after I left very good people that work there would not go anywhere else thanks guy good job!!!!!!!!!!!!

We heard great things from this place and needed motor work so we decided to give it a try worried about shops in the first place.They told us our truck would be done within three to four days we didnt hear anything back for a week in a half later and the day of picking up our beautiful truck we realize that somebody in the shop had smashed the door in nobodys willing to admit it and their CCTV is so blurry you cant even see anything I took pictures of the truck before we left it at the shop and when trying to show them the pictures they didnt even want to look me in my face so thank you very much Sargent for destroying our brand new truck we dont work hard for other people to destroy our belongings... so fair warning
