I have been coming to get my nails and brows done by Kim, the owner, for probably 7 years now. Once I moved to S. Austin and didn’t want to drive to RR but could never find someone to do my nails perfectly like she does. So I would drive all the way to RR from S Austin until I finally moved back closer! She’s the BEST!

I found this place from the good reviews it had for me and a friend to get our toes done. I have never had a better pedicure experience in my life and I had the basic gel pedi! They didnt rush, I felt like they got every piece of dead skin off my feet, the polish work looks Great as well of course.

This is a wonderful nail salon! Every thing is so clean and the workers do a great job. The prices are great too! I would recommend this nail salon to anyone who appreciates great work.

This is my update since Covid 19. Ive been going to Amy at DK Nails for the past 15 months now. Shes awesome! Really cares and takes such pride in her work. So when Covid hit? I had to just wait until the salon reopened. Kim is the owner there and is just as awesome! Her customer service skills with all of the clients is incredible. She kept in touch with me via text to keep me apprised of when I would be able to get in to see Amy again.As you can see in the photo they are open for appointments only now. In the past I always had a standing appointment every other week because I just get a gel manicure. But when I would arrive I would notice that they did a lot of their business with walk ins. This is no longer accepted. However, if you call from your car and there is an opening in their schedule they will take you otherwise they will schedule you an appointment. I would have to say that appointments scheduled are best.Upon arrival you walk in, introduce yourself to be checked in and wash your hands. They have fresh laundered wash clothes there to dry your hands with. I personally hang onto mine as I know I will have to wash my hands again during my manicure but that’s just what I do. You must pick a color of polish you are wanting for your service and need to have clean hands to pick up the color swatches in their baskets provided on the table in the waiting area for gel or SNS services.All employees are wearing masks and plexiglass is set up at each station between yourself and them. They wear gloves during your procedure and disinfect their stations in between clients. If you are having a Pedicure? They are using a new disposable liner for each client in their pedicure bowls. Plus sanitizing the station as well in between clients. Each Pedicure chair is distanced from the next. It is every other one that is closed off and the other used. So just be prepared, if you are going for a Pedicure with a family member or friend? You will not be seated next to one another due to the social distancing guidelines. Every other chair, also if you have children? Please keep them at home as they are not allowed in the salon, which is perfectly understandable considering the current situation.At first they were only taking cash payments but have since gone to taking both again, cards and cash. I definitely recommend this salon as a safe place to have your nail services. Make sure prior to leaving you make your next appointment to be able to get in for your nail service needs.Original Review below -Just wanted a simple Gel Manicure, wasnt sure where to go so as everyone I googled it! Amy was my Nail Tech, she was awesome!! No drills, all by hand which is what I was looking for. In and out within an hour and very pleased with her service. She was very gentle and asked me after each step if I was happy with that step. Appreciate the fact that she took her time and listened to me. Scheduled another appointment in 2 weeks with Amy again. Love this place!!

I exceptionally enjoyed my experience at DK nails & highly recommend seeing Kim. First off, the place was stunning & had a welcoming presence; was also very peaceful and lovely to add. And oh boy, that Kim! She herself was amazing and so was her nail performance! She was very kind, easy to talk to, complimentary, welcoming, beautiful/spirited and had a gentle touch to her. Speaking of which, she was the most gentle and caring nail tech I ever experienced (i.e. when using the machine-devices to carefully shape & do other sorts of things with my real/artificial nails). She’d simply ask, what I- as the customer, the most important party there, personally like regarding my nails. As a result, she achieved greatly, and I shall return once I return to town from Houston. Thank you Kim for the great chat & nails! What other salon would stay open late for you because you got Stuck in traffic or missed your appointment because of work. No one That I know of would Do That for a customer . I was with Kim last week. She is very kind and down to earth. It’s worth it to even go there to just talk to her. She even helped me to pick my SNS nail color. She did a great job and took her time. Also, it wasn’t busy and I went on a weekday around noon. I would recommend this place with Kim any day.

DK is extremely accommodating to our current times. They follow all the rules and are extremely kind and caring as well as considerate of others. Today was my first time ever coming here and it wont he my last. My pedi was fabulous and the design for my daughters toes was exactly what she asked for. THANKVYOU

I went in last week for a pedicure and it was great! Fantastic job and looked great! Excited about my good experience, I went back for a dip powder manicure and my nails dont look good. Despite the technician taking their time (which i appreciated), my nails arent smooth, half of one nail is shiny while the other half is matte, and a piece of fuzz was painted into my top coat which was then dried by the UV machine before i could see the fuzz. I will definitely be back for the amazing pedicures but Ill stick to somewhere else for manicures!

Lovely ladies working here are so sweet and friendly! They did a beautiful job on my nails. My friend asked for a design on hers and it turned out GORGEOUS! She did such a wonderful job. The design matched perfectly with her ring. Loved this place, would definitely return.

I have been going to DK Nails for two plus years and I think they are the BEST! Kim, her husband and Angela have always done a great job. Very professional, considerate and clean establishment. I have come to know them well and cherish my business relationship /friendship. Just like many other places and out of respect to the business, it’s always best to make an appointment and come well in advance before closing so they aren’t working late. They already work 7 days a week, 9 hours per day. I read several posts on here about getting there before 7 and being turned away. This is totally justified considering the time it takes to do what your asking for if it goes past 7.

Very unprofessional workers. I saw how they reused their equipment without proper cleaning. They also refused service based on looks.

Mimi is the best nail tech I have ever been to! She can always recreate any picture you show her and is so super nice and friendly! I have been following her around and would drive the extra mile just to see her! She can do any shape and any design and my nails last for 3-4 weeks and never lift! Using the SNS has made my nails grow so long and healthy, they look perfect every single time! I highly recommend this place!

D & K nails is the best nail salon i have been too. The man that did my solar nails did an amazing job!! He was very nice and started a conversation with me. He didnt cut me or anything, my nails turned out great. I went at 2 on a Saturday and right when i walked in they greeted me and my family and sat me down and started right away. Everybody was very nice there and i would definitely go back and recommend it to others.

Went there originally for my brows wax. I really liked the place so the next day went and got a full set SNS. Looking at them the just looked very different, size shape and everything. Went back the next day and they redid my set. Very happy they fixed the issue

My initial experience was great.I went in there at 6:20 for a fill and polish Change and they turned me away they close at seven. The woman said that there were customers waiting but there was nobody sitting in the chairs they were all getting pedicures so they had time they just didn’t want to do it. Whatever happened to the customer comes first.

I love Dk nails. Everyone speaks to me when I walk in, and never keep me waiting long. Every technician is friendly and does a good job, even up to my high standards. I never get attitude when I ask to modify my nails or change my mind. The shop is clean and smells great. They offer me wine, water or pop every time I come in. The guy saying they dont like black men is insane. My own father has come in and really enjoyed his pedicure. Ive never felt uncomfortable as a black person here. Everyone is welcome at DK nails.

DK Nails was wonderful. It was the first time I had ever been in. I chose them because of the great reviews, wanted to see what all the fuss was about. I went in for a manicure and was in and out in 30 minutes. I didnt have to wait at all! With about 7 or 8 customers and only 3 or 4 workers, that says a lot. I was very impressed with the great customer service and the fact that I could understand everyone that worked there. Very good English. I will definitely being going back!

Everyone here is super nice and professional!! After an exhaustive search and disappointments with 4 different nail salons, I FINALLY found one that is clean, friendly, and very affordable! And they have Tons of different nail tip colors for solar and acrylic. Another huge plus, they are open Sundays until 5. Kelly does mine and she is great!!

The pedi spa felt soooooooooo good. Recommend getting one. I had my eyebrows done and I appreciated that the lady took her time and kept having me check and explain her recommendations. I also had my nails donr in dip powder? New to me but they came out OK. I got an American finish but I can still see the nail tip line. But again she took her time and was very precise. Next time I may just do a nude color. I will be going back.

Absolutely wonderful experience!! I went to DK Nails yesterday with my daughter after reading all of the online reviews and seeing that the majority of them were positive. Well, turns out those positive reviews were right on! I went and had solar nails done and my 8 yr old got a cute little Mani. I believe it was Jen or Gina that did my daughters nails. Kim did my nails and they both did a superb job!! Nails turned out sooo nice; it was worth it to pay extra for the shellac nails (my first time to get shellac).Anyways, this place is pumping and I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a great nail salon!

Stopped at this place for a pedicure on our way to Austin. Loved it! People are nice and friendly! The girls who did our pedicures talked to us the whole time we were there. It didnt feel like they were talking about us like in most places.

I went on a Friday with my best friend to get my nails done for a classical voice recital I was singing that Sunday. Both of us need gel nails because of our jobs and we need tough nails. They were all super nice there and offered us drinks. When my techinician started on my nails with me, stressed with her that my nails are stubborn with gel and she needs to make sure they will stick. Ive had back experiences elsewhere where they didnt even stay on a week. I have had a few salons where the gel has stayed for over 2 weeks. So I know it is possible. However the next day after getting my nails done that evening, they were already starting to peel. I couldnt do anything because I was working a 12 hour shift and then needed to head out of town for my recital. Now it hasnt even been a week and Im desperately trying to keep my peeling nails on for work because I need to look professional and I dont have time to try to get all my gel nails off. I will not be coming back here. My friends nails are peeling already. We will be going back to Sassy nails off 620 because our nails from there lasted up to 3 weeks. As a recent college graduate. Im upset I had to spend that much money for the same quality as the regular polish.

My first time there was a very wonderful experience. I had to wait a few, but I see that as a good thing. They were extremely busy with alot of customers, so that says alot!! While I was getting my pedicure done by Kim, Jen was doing my manicure. Those ladies were AMAZING!! I will definitely return!!

I was traveling from Ft. Lauderdale and wound up with two broken nails. I happened to see the shop as I was heading toward my hotel after buying a do it yourself kit. I stopped in to see if they would take walk ins, and much to my surprise, the shop owner, Gina, offered to open the shop early the next morning just to accomodate me because her normal business hours just didnt work with my meeting schedule.Gina was very sweet, incredibly customer service focused, and did a great job saving my reputation for sporting long beautiful nails.If I lived in Austin, I would definitely have my nails done here every time.

I always like this place but today after not going in for a while I went in for pedicure. The tech was super slow and careless. She did a mediocre job. Staff was cold and unfriendly. Will NEVER return. Did not feel welcomed.

They had bad attitude when I went for a pedicure, I asked the lady my chairs message button is not working, she said I dont know why and I should keep trying, which I did..she did not offer to fix it or move me to another chair, she was watching the TV game show more than my feet and guessing the answers of the show. All staff keep talking/laughing in a foreign language in front of customers who of course do not understand that language..how unprofessional!!and unwelcoming!!No manners!! These are the things that lead to prejudice! Will not recommend this place to anyone, For the staff if they cannot talk in English when customers are present, they should close the store in USA and go back to their country.

After a few seconds my nails started to chip..all Tran did was put the full set on with regular nail polish and, a matte finish. 4 days later... My nails simply looked like crap. I couldve bought the press ons in place of the cheap work that was done. I wasnt offered water and, I was bored the whole time. Then I went back & everyone except the workers were telling me to get Shellac. So what was the purpose of seeing a a professional who did nothing special for $40?! Certainly not recommended for nail services.

I was waiting for my Chinese food. I saw dk nails door was open. I had my dog with me. I poked my head in the door. Which means my dog as stuck his head in too. I asked how much for manicure? She said we are closed, we dont allow pets in the store. I told her, all I am asking for is price. Its was hard for her to just give a price. If it is that difficult to ask a question. They probably dont allow black men in their store.
