We had a unique request- we were wanting to custom design bands and add a halo to my existing engagement ring for our 10 year anniversary, I also wanted to put my old wedding bands on my late grandma’s vintage ring. Marty designed the new bands/added a halo and also soldered my old bands to the vintage ring. Everything turned out perfectly! Both rings are gorgeous and absolutely love the final products! I really appreciated how accommodating and responsive Marty and his staff were! Plus the turn around time once the design was done was less than 2 weeks (for both rings) which seemed much more reasonable than other jewelers!

I took an older ring to a jewelry store I have purchased several pieces from, to have it set in a new ring. They sent it to their jeweler (out of state) to measure the depth of the stone. When I followed up a month later, nothing had been done. I ended up getting the ring back ordering the ring we were looking at directly from the supplier. I ended up not liking the ring after all.A friend referred me to AKALA JEWELRY. They worked with me to design the perfect ring. We decided to melt down the ring and change the design a little bit. All of the work was done right there in their store. In less than three weeks, the ring was ready…and I LOVE it!! Working with the staff at AKALA was amazing! The store was clean and organized. The staff was very friendly. They really listened to what I didn’t like about the original ring and what I wanted the final ring to look like. It was the best experience and I highly recommend them to anyone looking to purchase a new piece, creating a piece from existing jewelry or design a new piece. I am a jewelry broker in the Denver area and wanted to find a reputable jeweler for repairs & possible future sales in Nebraska since I have many clients there. Plus, I love to support other businesses & help in any way I can. I called them and asked if they could replace a lost side stone for one of my clients and that I’d pay for it. When they took the ring in, they said it needed more work. Seemed weird since it was a brand new ring that my jeweler just had the week before, but ok, whatever....I wanted to start a new working relationship, so I believed them. When picking it up, they pulled my client aside, badmouthed the ring and the diamond, told COMPLETE LIES, judged her about it, and proceeded to try and sell one of theirs instead. Even if it was a faulty ring, they could’ve called me, so I could take care of her & replace it, especially since I was the one paying for it and the one that had trusted them & talked to them about it. My client said she would never go back to them and it felt like a slimy used car salesman way of business.

My husband and I celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary last Septmber so it was quite upsetting when I recently damaged my wedding ring. I took in an old sterling silver ID bracelet that had been my dads. He wore it for a long time so it was scratched and beat up so that you could barely read his name. They polished it and re-engraved his name and it looks perfect. Its like brand new! They knew that I didnt like being without it so they got it done several days sooner than they had promised. I mainly spoke to Laurie and she was wonderful. I highly recommend them.

Brought in a stone and requested a custom setting. The jeweler, Marty, sat me down and we went over many details and he showed me many custom options. In the end the final product turned out better than I imagined. The price was great too. Highly recommend to anyone looking to get work done etc.

I can’t begin to thank Laurie and Marty enough for the stunning engagement ring they made for me. A little history on it... I had my dads wedding band which he wore until my mother passed away. He wanted her wedding band to stay with her. They were married for almost 45 years before she passed. She was everything to him. I took my dads wedding band and another gold ring I had into Marty and went over the design I was wanting. After many texts of ideas and pics to Laurie who sent them to Marty, the creation of my cherished ring became a reality. I have a beautiful, stunning almost 1 karat princess cut with 2 smaller round diamonds on either side. This ring is unbelievablely stunning. I took a necklace in for repair, which was done while I waited and for a very reasonable price. They clean and inspect jewelry at no cost. Everything is done inhouse and everyone is very friendly and helpful. Plus there are resident cats! I will never go any place else.

When your marriage ends it is a very sad thing. And then you’re left with reminders of all the promises made that have been forever broken. Rings carry the symbolism of those promises. It’s a stiff reminder and often you don’t want them anymore. So when my own marriage ended last year I decided I wanted to give the rings to the two best things that came from this relationship. My daughters. 💕 I took my vision of melting these rings together and forming new pendants for each of my daughters to Akala Jewelry and asked them to help me make hurt into happiness really. I highly recommend Akala Jewelers. Over my lunch hour one day, I walked in the store to look for a new setting for the stone in my current wedding ring. My husband and I are getting ready to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary and decided to update my setting. Marty, the store owner, approached me to find out what I was looking for. I told him I wanted to update my ring a bit. He inquired if I had ever considered a custom setting. I explained that I wanted to make the process simple and not spend too much money. One of the best customer service experiences I have had in my lifetime, and I would highly recommend Akala for any of your jewelry needs. I purchased a custom engagement ring from Akala. Each staff member I encountered was very knowledgeable on the product and service offerings, and remembered me by name after my first visit. Marty, the owner, spent a lot of time with me selecting the perfect diamond, designing a custom band, and even provided advice/ideas for how to propose. The engagement ring turned out way better than I could have imagined, and my fiancé was extremely happy with every detail. Yesterday I unearthed this Little ‘gem’!! Her name is Laurie Claxton and she works for this remarkable jeweler.They uncovered and addressed my needs in a very brief time. My ring, which is white gold, had been wearing off from regular wear over the past 8+ years. Not only did Laurie have it re-rhodiumed for me but they did it while I was waiting!!PS. There is a gorgeous morganite necklace waiting to be taken home by one lucky lady!!I’ve had some loose stones I’ve been wanting to have made into a custom piece and now I know where to go!Akala Jewelry brings customer service to an entirely new level. Flew back to Lincoln for a family emergency and I needed some items engraved. Akala Jewelry was able to get them done in quick time and was able to delivery the items to me as traveling to them was not possible. Everyone at the jewelry store was very understanding of my situation. Its things like this that build a lifetime customer. My husband consulted with Akala to design my engagement ring and wedding band -- and the result was beautiful. I was referred to have a repair done on my engagement ring. I had somehow snapped off one of the prongs holding on the main stone. Not only did he repair it beautifully, but he did it faster than the quoted time. The prongs on my ring used to stick up pretty far, and could even scratch me or snag clothes. He fixed all four so they hold more securely and are much smoother on the end, so I wont damage it again. Cannot recommend him enough!

I worked with Marty on several jewelry pieces. My mother recently passed away and Marty created two pinky rings from her wedding and engagement rings for her two granddaughters. I had a pinky ring that belonged to my grandmother and there was one larger stone in my moms band that he added to my grandmothers ring so now I have a pinky ring honoring both my grandmother and mother. Marty also resized another diamond ring of my moms so that it fit one of my fingers. Marty created the design of the granddaughters pinky rings and they are adorable. The sentimental value is priceless. I highly recommend Marty and Akala Jewelry!!!

I wish that I had a Macro camera lense to reveal the exquisite precision that Marty did in mounting my nearly clear .3c Heart Solitaire wedding stone.My band had been smashed in a pocket door and I had taken it several times to independent jewelers to fix it, re mount it, etc. Living in The OC you would think that the job would be (at minimum) decent. The re-mount Kay Jewelers did was awful. It was sharp, off centered, unbalanced and caught on every piece of clothing I own. Several Jewelers here in South Orange County, CA told me that it wouldnt be worth the money to fix my wedding set. I spoke to the actual Jewelers who would be doing the work and was blown off several times. I was willing to pay any price.I mailed my wedding set from California, to Marty in Nebraska. I think he took it as a personal challenge. Needless to say, he superceeded my expectations. I am forever grateful. He even modified my band to make it stronger and fixed my husbands band with beautiful results.The Job: The heart solitaire setting is evenly spaced and balanced. And because Its a heart, it requires a special placement, pressure and precision point on the bottom. The mount doesnt hide my stone. It is smooth and clean. It looks like a brand new mount. The prongs are strong and still elegant. My solitaire doesnt look like its going to slip out. He made a beautiful weld (as a customized request) to keep the three bands together and it looks exactly as I had envisioned it. What so many Jewelers in South Orange County, CA told me would not be worth their time, Marty did with ease and elegance.Yes. Take your timeless pieces to Marty. Let him do what he does best. Trust that his integrity is true. I wont ever go to another jeweler again. Ive found the talent I was looking for.

Wow. I cannot say enough positive things about Akala.I am from Illinois. I wanted to make my fiancés ring out of white gold and stones from rings of my mother, grandmother, and her mothers rings. I mailed him the two stones and half-shank of white gold and he put together renderings from what I sent. He texted and called me as needed to get the ring designed EXACTLY how I wanted it (even got it engraved for free!). The process was quick, the service was friendly, and the quality is SPECTACULAR. I have zero complaints in my interactions with Marty and the others at Akala.I ordered the ring a little big, so after I proposed, my fiancé sent it back in to have it resized. Marty resized it the day he received it, re-engraved it, and mailed it back to her with chocolate! Seriously. I dont care WHERE in the U.S. you live, Akala jewlery is THE place to go for rings, especially if youre wanting a custom design.
