There were no cars available and the corporate company was unable to provide solutions. The employee at the kiosk informed me I would be reimbursed for rideshare services while waiting for a rental car to become available. The corporate company informed me this is false information and provided no solution for my transit.

Small airport, cars were clean and available with different styles available. Only 4/5 because car smelled like weed from either guy that last cleaned it or last customer. Either way, not good. Car ran great, easy drop off too. No personal interactions which is what i prefer right now. Dont need 20 questions.

Great experience renting a car for my business travel. No cars were available initially and they brought down something that suited my needs perfectly. They were kind and courteous and returning at the Jackson airport was a breeze. Will definitely rent again.

My employee and I arrived on business from Atlanta on the noon flight at Jackson MS on 7/10/2017. We were greeted with a long line of renters at the Emerald Aisle with NO cars available. The manager claimed that the 9 AM flight had wiped them out. Three hours later, we waited for one hour for vehicles to be brought into the Emerald Aisle. This is entirely unacceptable given the fact that we all had reservations.

I really enjoy just walking up to the car I want and driving off with nothing needed beyond my drivers license.This last time, I flew into a different airport than usual and was asked at the gate if I had a reservation. I did not. Never had to do it before where I usually go (Memphis). So, I had to park the car, go out of the parking ramp (to get some reception), call National and reserve the car I was already in, and then all was good. Not sure why, other than the fact that this was a smaller facility with fewer cars. At any rate, it was still pretty smooth. Other than that, theyd get a 5-star. Cars are clean, low-mileage, etc. I recently rented from a competitor because I had no choice. Car hadnt been cleaned. Crumbs everywhere, found empty Cheetos bags in the compartment between seats, radio didnt work, it had trouble shifting gears (automatic transmission). Interestingly enough, I didnt get a feedback survey from them either.

I have been a member of the Emerald Club for a long time. I appreciate the flexibility of selecting my vehicle from a good selection of vehicles. When I have needed a van or a truck I was able to make that selection with no up charge. I also appreciate that I can skip the counter and get right to a vehicle and put my bags away before I check out. Check out is fast and there is seldom a wait. I highly recommend National Car Rental.

I rented a car from Jackson International Airport (JAN). I needed to pick it up at that location and drop it off at Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport (GPT). When I called customer service to arrange this, I was told I could not return it at another location. I had to drop it back off at JAN. This put a damper on my travel plans as I had to find a way to get to Gulfport now that driving myself was not an option. My next problem involves the reward program. I wanted to redeem my free days for a car that seats 7 people for a bridal shower party. I was told I needed to be Elite Exec status to rent a vehicle of that size with my free days. I am 9 rentals away from that status for 2020. Ive been a loyal customer with National since August 2018 and have spent thousands over the years travelling for business. I think that your rewards program should allow free days to count towards any vehicle. This was a huge inconvenience as I had to ask the bride to use her car since National would not allow me to rent anything larger than mid-size. My final problem is the status of the car I was able to rent. It smelled like somebody smoked an entire pack of cigarettes with the windows up. It was terrible and nobody at this location cared to resolve the problem. I couldve left the lot with a larger car that smelled better but ya know...only being executive level changes things, I guess.

I was instructed to report to the rental lot to pick up my car. No one was in the booth. A sign in the booth instructed me to report to the exit booth. No one was stationed at this booth. When a representative arrived, I was told to line up over there and we will bring you a car (no cars were in the lot). I had to wait about 15 minutes for a car to arrive. The confusion escalated due to the pandemic.

After reading reviews about lack of car’s I was worried when I arrived to just about empty lot. However I was given a nice vehicle without a wait. The bad part of my experience with the Jackson location was the pricing. Been a National customer over ten years and never seen such crazy prices. I’m required to rent a compact car on a monthly basis but when you charge over 2K mo. and everyone else is about 1K. So when I had to renew sadly I had to go with your sister Co. Enterprise.

With Emerald Aisle, we were able to select a nice car with navigation which was very helpful driving around Jackson, MS. The car was a Mazda CX-5 with comfortable leather seats and excellent gas mileage.

Aweful, aweful, aweful experience. Single attendant was incredibly rude, unprofessional, condescending. Rather than extend my rental, went across to Enterprise. Difficult to get a local managers number, but he or she would benefit from providing a bit of customer service training to one individual. Appeared to be three cars on the row, maybe shutting down this location... book cautiously.

Long time member... Easily the worst experience ever with any car rental agency and location.. Between the phone agent and the local site agent, one completely misled the customer and other could care less about making it right. (All the way up to management). Good thing Uber has their act together or my family would have been stranded in another state.

The National attendants -- upon arriving and departing -- simply could not have been less helpful. It appeared that I was a huge bother to them. And there were only TWO cars available in my category. In the one I selected, the interior lights would not turn off while driving. All in all, a pretty negative experience!

Emerald Aisle is nice. You pick the car you want. A few times though, there are slim pickings. On my last pickup they had two Dodge Caravans and three huge Dodge Ram pickup trucks.

We picked up a car in Jackson Ms. with a Tag Applied For label as a license plate. I should have realized it then, but we were going out of state. Other state do not recognize that plate and will pull you over. I called National emergency line and they directed me to switch cars in Memphis. In addition to switching cars, they provided a GPS system that was plug in and did not work.

Selection was a bit limited but the service was outstanding. As a Executive Level member, I rent a lot of cars and speed of getting in and out are important in my business. The Jackson team was on it. Probably my quickest departure from the facility. Knowing your customers needs and habits really make the difference. No questions of services I never take, just a quick review of the license and out. The Jackson team did it the way it should be done and service with a smile. Thank you all.

There weren’t any cars in the executive area when I arrived. It took about 30 minutes before a Nissan Altima arrived. The area was in the garage of the airport and it was very hot, muggy and the employees weren’t able to tell me exactly how long I would need to wait. This made the experience less than desirable. Returning the car was easy and didn’t take long.

Car rental in Jackson, MS. Reservation was for a Standard size rental and compact since the only cars available at pickup were a Toyota Corolla, same size Hyundai, or 2 pickup trucks. Really? That was all there was to choose from and the price was the same as the quote for next size up rental. Choose the Corolla which was fine except that cruise control did not work.All in all it worked out, but disappointing that there was no choice over compact or pickup.

Every experience I have had with National has been wonderful, except for my last one at the Jackson, MS Airport (JAN). I checked in at the counter and was directed to the Aisle. There was not a single car available. There were 4 employee cars parked in the Aisle that renters were trying to get in (because it was confusing). The attendant checking cars out focused on those already with cars and didnt share any information with those waiting. After 30 minutes a frazzled manager ran over, said cars were getting cleaned and were on their way and ran back off. More time ensued, with 10 people waiting on cars. Finally cars came out. I didnt want a mini-van, but that was the one that came out when it was my turn. It had no seats in the middle or back (that seemed weird). I took it and got in line to exit the garage area. More time ensued. More cars came out. I had an appointment to get to, but this process took so much time that the venue closed before I could even leave the airport. So, I ditched the cargo-format mini-van and grabbed a more suitable car for my trip and went to the end of the line again. In total it took me 75 minutes to get a car that I had a reservation for and they knew I was coming to get. Very disappointed!

Ive called them multiple time over multiple days, it simply rings and rings.(the numbers are correct.)

I like the people and the service I get at in Jackson, MS. However, the cars typically are not full when I get them and if they are showing full, as soon as I drive a a couple of miles then go down 1/4 of a tank.Also, some of the cars smell like someone has smoked in them.

This was my first rental with National after being a long time and frequent Enterprise renter. I enjoyed being able to get my luggage from baggage claim and walk straight to the aisle to get my car. It took me a few minutes to figure out which cars were eligible for my Emerald Club membership because the cars closest to the airport were Executive class but the signs said Executive and Emerald on them. I walked further down the aisle and found the signs that just had Emerald on them and picked my car and was on my way. Overall a good experience and now that I know what I am looking for I will be good to go next rental.

Convenience of rental was great. Workers were not very friendly; and questioned me like I was a thief when I proceeded to Emerald Aisle to chose a vehicle. Vehicle selection was poor and I ended up having to upgrade to get a 3 row vehicle. Idk what it takes to upgrade but I think the guy just punched in whatever price he wanted too.. After I paid for an upgrade; I saw a minivan in Emerald Aisle when I return my rental.Still will use Emerald aisle as long as price is competitive due to convenience..

Plenty of clean new vehicles waiting for me when I arrived. Service was great. Only complaint is that I always get a loop of cable with two to three complete sets of keys. They wont fit in a pocket. You need another piece of luggage to carry them. There has to be a better way to keep up with the extra keys!

Arrived at counter on Thanksgiving Day with my reservation info (11:30am). Went through the paperwork and the was told to head out to the parking lot get my car. Well when I got out there the girl told me that all they have left are SUVs (but the parking lot was empty). She directed us to return to the terminal rental counter and wait in that she would call them call us out one at a time when the vehicle becomes available.11:45am - still waiting with about 8 other people to get our vehicles12:21pm - still here.. Went to the counter to ask how much longer I will have to wait. She called down to the parking lot to see if they have any returns yet. They did not. I asked if she could find out when they would get more and she said no. .. But did add that there was now only one person ahead of me.12:45pm called us up to the desk. They only had mid sized. We reserved and paid for full sized. The system says that we need to pay them more. Doesnt make sense that a mid size is more than a full size. After some arguing she agreed to give us the mid size for the price we payed on the full size. Headed to parking lot.12:51pm car wont start. Waiting in the cold. We requested a different car even though a jump start worked. We have a 2-hour drive ahead of us and didnt want to risk another breakdown.1:10 pm. Finally driving out in a large SUV.In spite of this horrible experience we are thankful for all the employees who are working on this holiday and being patient, professional, and friendly with the irate customers. Hopefully they will have enough cars to cover reservations the next time.

I arrived a little early at 7 A.M. to pick up my rental. I was told that there was some problem with the gate and the attendant would bring the car around to me. So, I sat inside the airport by the baggage claim and started to wait. Well, I waited and waited and was starting to get frustrated because I was potentially going to be late for my appointment. So, I went outside to try to speed things along. The attendant was nowhere to be found. Finally, I saw her down at the end of the lot assisting someone. I was getting pretty aggravated. She eventually made her way back toward the booth and approached me. She was so polite and apologetic that I forgot about my irritation. She hurried to assist me as quickly as she could and explained that she was working alone that morning. This wonderful lady turned a potentially horrible situation completely around just by being courteous. I give her 5 stars....wish I knew her name.

I had a reservation for a mid size car with a confirmation. I arrived at the rental car lot where I am supposed to pick any car I want to. The problem was there wasnt any cars. There were 4 people ahead of me all waiting for cars. In about 20 minutes there were 6 more people behind me waiting. We were told that they would bring out a car every 15 to 20 minutes. I did get a compact car after about 30 minutes. It all worked out but I dont believe the ads on TV anymore.

The car was delivered to the office before designated pickup time. The keys were available at my receptionist desk with the rental agreement. The car was a new (300 miles) Chrysler 200 which still had the applied for tag on it. No issues with the car on the trip. Returned it filled up. I had my rental receipt emailed to me the next morning. I expect they do quite a bit of business with us and have ironed out most problems. I have had few if any bad issues with this National rental office.

National was very fast and courteous given I was already upset with one of there competitors just a few desk down in the Air Port terminal. I had waited over an hour already to get a car I had reserved weeks prior. National was able to book me immediately and same rate and get me on my way less than 15mins. Thanks National. I had always been a satisfied customer prior but my Corp. changed preferred vendors. Thanks for altering my travel experience from bad to good

I usually do not have a problem with National Car Rental, but this trip to Jackson MS. was certainly an exception and one that has me swearing off the use of National Car Rental in the future!My plane was late getting in and National was notified of the delay. National only had three cars available (gone in seconds) and the rental lot agent location was closed, with no obvious sign directing you to the departure gate for rental assistance.I had to haul all of my baggage back to the rental counter, only to be told that I needed to go back to the exit gate area to get a rental car.Hauled all of my baggage back to the exit gate, only to be told that there were no cars available at the time. By now there were ten other people lined up behind me waiting for cars and overheard my conversation with the attendant. We were told that if we wanted to wait (who knows how long) cars would be brought down as they are available.National knew exactly how many people would be arriving to pick up cars, yet made no effort to meet the demand and no apologies to boot.Oh! By the way, the closed rental lot attendant station had a small sign standing on the counter facing the exit lot attendant, not where a renter would see it if they were coming to pick up a car from the staging area.This location needs to be closed and never allowed to open again! This location is a disgrace to the National brand and should be dealt with harshly!

We called the airport National Car rental there and were lucky to get Shandrea L. She went above and beyond for us, trying to get another specialty vehicle. Poor customer service. I reserved two cars. Once I was at the airport I was informed I could only rent one car by one person and another person told me I could rent both cars. No one seemed to know anything. I was sent to the counter to figure it all out. Once inside the airport the agent attempts to help, but made things worse come to find out. She was suppose to ensure one of the cars was returning to SAT but changed it to jaskson. She quoted 17.05 and I also asked about any other fees and was told there were not. The other car was changed from to another driver. They gave their credit card. We both proceeded to the cars and left after about an hour. A few days later after burying our mother, the cars were returned. The car back to Jackson one a separate card was charged to my work credit card. The other car was returned to SAT and billed $422 but then reduced to $171 also on my work CC even with me requesting and instructing to have someone call me before anything was charged. My card was charged and I never received a call. I called back after my card was charged and once again requested to have some one call me, and still me call. All of this has need the worst while dealing with the death of our mom!

Rented a car, had it for 5 days and returned it at 330 am using the drop box. Never received a receipt. When i called National they had me down as a no-show, despite the fact that I had the vehicle for 5 days and that they found the car in the drop off section that morning. No one at national seems to be able to help and theres no way for me to contact the jackson office directly. The national service reps have the same issue, apparently. Im hoping that someone at Jackson sees this and contacts me to make this right.

The city of Jackson was heavily occupied with visitors due to special events. I was pleasantly surprised to get in and out of National Rental Car very quickly with a quality vehicle. The selection of vehicles was scarce. However, the local staff was busy checking in and cleaning return vehicles immediately. The experience was hassle free and the staff was VERY friendly!

VERY deceptive, The sweet ladies at the counter will tell you to use the FSO fuel plan.Its charges you $2.80 / Gallon. When I ask do I only pay for what I use? They say YES!!!They charge you for a predetermined amount no matter what you use ($69.10). Dont try to get a refund I spent about 3 Hours on the phone, Customer Service 3 times with no call back then Ralph at the Escalation dept. with NO call back and NO number available to call Him.Also, the lady at the counter did not look at or use the rate I was promised online.She said Yes I have you right here. I asked do you need to see my reservation?Lets just say she did have me right there.So the lesson? at National?Reminds me of a song. Smiling faces tell lies, and I got proof!

I travel to Jackson on a regular basis for business. I am surprised to see how many positive reviews are listed here. Every time I arrive at the National parking lot, there always seems to be a shortage of cars. I was there last week and waited 40 min to get a car. There was no option to choose what car I wanted because of the amount of time spent waiting for a car to become available. When a car was available, it was not as clean as you would expect. There was only one attendant in the garage, and he didnt seem to have any answers as to when a car would become available. I was in line with about 10-12 other people waiting. It would be helpful if someone was out in the garage to greet you and advise what the situation is as opposed to the people waiting for rentals to stand around looking at each other. While waiting, another guy who travels to Jackson regularly, was able to tell us this is a normal occurrence at this location. Other people that were in line with me were getting so frustrated with waiting that they decided to go to where the cars were being returned and taking the dirty car. There is plenty of room for improvement here, and hopefully this gets fixed. I will be considering other options at this airport because I did notice that other companies seemed to have plenty of cars for the people holding reservations. I am also confused at how someone can walk up to the counter inside and rent a car, when there are none available for those of us that are part of Emerald Club?

Needed to get a new contract and also swap out my current vehicle when I visited Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston, Texas. I was told by front desk to talk to their manager in the car lot, Malik. Malik was extremely helpful and even though they didnt have any trucks I was looking for, Malik personally went and brought 5 different trucks from the back for me to look at and pick from. He was able to get me in and out in a decent amount of time and there was no hassle. I needed a truck for my job so it was very convenient! Will definitely be using this National again for any future car rentals!

I had not rented from this National Car Rental locatio in for a while because of a tendency to not get my bill correct. This was no difference. They always provide a clean and new vehicle, however, I had a charge for 1 gallon of gas - I topped off about 1/4 mile from drop off. Also, I drove the car over 2,000 miles for the week I had it rented, and the final report showed only 335 miles of use (so my audit department will question why I am turning in so many gas receipts). Dont know why it is so hard to get a bill correct. Should be something they are doing every day.

I arrived at the airport and went to the counter, where a sign directed me to the lot. I went to the booth at the lot where a sign directed me to the Alamo booth. After helping all the people trying to leave the lot, they finally found my reservation, and told me to pick any car in the midsize area. There were two, identical cars there. As I pulled up to exit the lot they noticed my car did not have plates.The folks were all very nice, but the experience was mind-bogglingly broken. I typically rent from Hertz (I am a Gold member there just like I am an Emerald Club member here.) Next time, it will definitely be Hertz.

Ive been to Jackson twice and not had any problems with the rentals. There were a few cars always available. They did try to charge me a one gallon refueling fee this time, but customer service removed that after a quick phone call (Ive had that show up from time to time erroneously). Very friendly people, and the agent on duty wandered around with me to chat while I looked over the available cars.

Flew in for a business trip on 7/30/18 and came to an empty lot. NO CARS at all in the Emerald Club lanes. I had a reservation and everything. The lady at the counter wasnt helpful too. Ended up waiting approximately 25 minutes and got a smaller car than was originally reserved--ridiculous. That was a 1-star service.

No cars available for rental, entire section in the garage was empty. My two colleagues and myself waited for approximately 3/4 hour for the first car to come and then the last two of us an additional 1/2 hour. Compensated by giving us a half a tank of gas. Have rented here several times on business trips. More than once I had to wait 45 minutes for a car. This was on a Monday. They cant keep up with their reservations demand. They appeared to be understaffed. Also, The vehicle type you reserved will likely not be available. Set your car rental service expectations accordingly here.

I would have given 5 stars but the for the confusion as to which car I was supposed to take. The signs at the Jackson Airport did not really distinguish one level from the other. However, the car was clean, got great gas mileage and getting and out of the airport was very simple! I will use them again.

The rental car had not been cleaned in a long time, so when my passenger adjusted her seat she got brown crud on her hand. There were multiple spills on the front and back seats. We had to stop at Target and purchase a package of wipes, to wipe down the dirt and grime off the steering wheel, seats, dash and interior door panels. Additionally the car had minor damage to the tail light and small dents on the back. I hope we never get such a dirty car again.

I was charged for insurance, tow, road side assistance, etc, etc through the Emerald Isle with out my approval or notification.I despise having to call afterwards to plead my case ....poor phone customer service was just as awful .How does $1307+ for a Chevrolet Impala for a five day rental sound?Yes $1307. Not a typo.Avoid at all costs!!

This is the second time in the past two months that I have attempted to rent from here. Both times they were out of cars. I was forced to pay an upsell fee to get an SUV, because they did not have any available. As an executive elite member, I generally book on the Emerald Aisle and pick what I want. I was told I could not pick what I wanted. I was also told there were no more SUVs, but two other customers behind me had SUVs. Not to mention every time I asked a question, he would answer me and then motion to help the customer behind me. If he had taken care of me initially, he would have known what I needed and taken care of me accordingly. Once he realized I was executive elite, he offered a discount, etc. My thing is never judge a book by its cover. I may not have looked as though I have status, but I have been a weekly traveler for over 5 years. National is not the only rental car company in Jackson. I only have bad experiences with this one as well as others in the Southern region. East, West and Northern regions are pleasant and accommodating at all times. Your staff needs additional customer service training, and you need to QUIT accepting reservations when you know you do not have vehicles available.

I rented a car from another agency months in advance for pickup. When I arrived at the airport there was a long line with no instructions on how to get my vehicle without waiting in the line to speak with a representative. Using my smartphone, I cancelled the reservation with the other agency and rented a car from National (I am in the Emerald Club). I was able to immediately proceed to the area where the cars were, and the agent ensured that I got a very nice car with the options I wanted with no waiting. I did not get any hard copy documents, everything was done online.

National Car Rental service at the Jackson-Medgar Wiley Evers International Airport is poor.Walking out to the Emerald Isle for car pick up, my first experience was missing cars. I arrived with other separate travelers and after contacting a security guard to find a National Car Rental service attendant they explained they are aware cars were needed and it will be a while before they show up. The first man in line, traveling with two others in their party, was upset because they had a business meeting to attend in the afternoon. The attendant offered him a white pickup truck. Next in line, I was offered a compact car that looked like something from Pee-Wees Play House and did not hold as many passengers. I would have rather been offered a Yugo.The business traveler behind me was out of luck. National Car Rental was physically out of cars. I walked to the end of the covered garage for my compact car, placed luggage in the back and began adjusting my seat and mirrors. After a short time, I departed and on my way out noticed a line of approximately 14 to 17 customers now standing in line waiting for their cars. Our corporate travel policy mandates we use this rental car agency and I have never experienced such delay and ineptitude from National before.Bottom line: For all those travelers arriving into Jackson, MS. on business and renting a car from National, dont expect to reach your business meetings on time the day you arrive. For all those travelers arriving on vacation or personal and family travel, don’t expect any friendly or empathetic service. For everyone arriving into Jackson, MS. good luck getting your car from National Car Rental.

I had a poor experience to say the least. Upon receiving the car I immediately felt that there was something wrong with the car (it was shaking and pulling) once I got to my destination (my hotel about 10 miles from the air) I called and described the issue and was asked to bring the car back,but did not feel safe driving it, (as i inspected the car closer and could tell it had been in a rather significant accident) I asked that they bring me one at the hotel, I was told they would check availability for that and call me back. When I received the return call they told me they didnt have any cars to bring to me. (which made me upset as they wanted me to bring it back and still would not have had another car to get into) I was then told they would contact me in the morning to see about arranging another car and I never received the CALL! Needless to say I did not drive the car anymore (I had other coworkers with a rental from another company) and basically paid for a car I didnt use and was told would be replaced. Upon return I was told there was nothing that could be done at the time and was charged the full amount. I am not happy at all about the experience.

I have rented cars from National in Jackson MS. for many years but over the last year I have had to start my rentals on Monday mornings and the last two time have had to stand in a long line with others because no cars were on the lot. It seems that on any other day they seem to be fine but Mondays are definite poor.

Car rental was great, attendant got me a car that met my needs. Return at MSY New Orleans was frustrating. Street signs directing you to the old location are still up. Glad I had spare time!

If you can get a car, theyre normally acceptable. However they frequently run out of cars on Mondays and you may find yourself in a line ten or more customers deep if you are unlucky.

The selection of cars was exponential! They were clean inside and out and I didnt have to wait in line for one. The last National I went to had a line for Emerald Club. The staff was also very friendly and the airport was easy to get out of.

After landing at the Jackson Airport, went to the front counter and took minutes to fill out paperwork. Walked to the parking area where there was a wide variety of cars for me to choose from. I selected a car of my choice and was quickly on my way.

Fantastic service from the personnel but they often run out of rental cars, its quite frustrating to stand around for 2 hrs while they try to source cars. I cant blame the customer service personnel but I can blame the corporate office for not having enough inventory to meet reservation demand.

Overall, the employees were friendly both during pick-up and drop-off, but I did have one significant issue. As I was leaving the rental lot, I was asked to supply my drivers license. After a couple minutes of trying to get the bar code scanner to work, I was checked out and on my way. However, the staff did not give me back my license, which I didnt realize until I tried to check into my hotel later that evening. Granted, I did get a VM from National while I was in a meeting that afternoon and when I finally got ahold of the rental counter at JAN, I was told I would have to come back to the airport to pick up my license...Should I have asked for it back before leaving the garage...maybe...should they have brought the license to me at the hotel (~25 minutes away)...yes.Again, nice & friendly, but this was an issue.
