The 5 star rating is because of one employee named Xavier. She did what 2 other employees seemed incapable of doing We reserved a full sized car labor day weekend . The car had over 40,000 miles. I asked for a car with lower mileage. I was told by 2 employees that ALL of their cars had very high mileage. We accepted the Malibu. Drove about 10 miles only to realize the cars engine sounded very rough. There was noise coming from the wheel hub on the right side of the car. We returned the vehicle and the 2 employees that were not helpful at all told us we would have to wait an hour or more for another vehicle. Xavier showed up and within minutes she put us in a vehicle with 1,800 miles on the odometer. We drove away as happy as could be. We were relieved to be in a safe car. All because of 1 employee with great customer service skills and knowledge.

This hertz is terrible. Reserved a car online for pickup as a gold member. 4 people in line in front of us to get cars as well. One person is working the desk. The guy working is trying his best to keep up and deal with people’s frustrations. However, people just continuously jump in front of the line and nothing is done about it. And the people are jumping in line “to ask a quick question” and then are allowed to stay and deal with their issues. Waited in line over an hour for a car. Probably should have more people working if you have this many people with reservations. Especially when some people (like myself) are on fairly strict time limits. Terrible location. Would never rent here again.

The lady made me wait 45 minutes after signing me on , after travelling the whole day and I still dont have a car. She said there were no people to transport the car. Awful experience. Should be a -100 stars. Waited for over 4 hours and still dont have a car. But we are suppose to reserve ahead of time. Oh yea we did that a few weeks ago. Whats the issue? Oh and customer service yea doesnt exist. Look at the attached pictures. What a joke!!!! How do I get a refund? Wheres the compensation? Oh yea Jackson International Airport located in Jackson Mississippi 39046 if you wanna know. What a joke!!!

Would be great if the location would pick up the phone. Tried calling for an hour or so, no pickup of the phone at all until the last attempt. They picked up and hung up without even a greeting. If it wasn’t for not having another choice, I’d be choosing a competitor.

Yet another disappointing experience with Hertz. I booked online ahead of time because Im a Gold Plus Rewards member with them. I also receive a discount through my employer, which is why I tend to book with Hertz. I received my confirmation via e-mail and was good to go to pick up the car, or so I thought. I only needed a vehicle (any vehicle!) for a one-way 2 hour ride to the next airport. When I got to the counter, where I thought I would continue on with my Hertz rental, the agent told me there were no cars available. Of course I was thrown off immediately, as for 1) I held my confirmation in my hand, and 2) the not existing explanation from the agent. No apology, no urge of trying to assist me, no willingness to help or solve the problem. Instead, she suggested I try Avis or Budget right next door !?! I asked her if the availability was only an issue at this particular location and if other Hertz locations in the area may have a car available. She responded by looking at me as if I was asking for too much and gave me a bothered look and simply said The other locations may have cars and left me to figure it out on my own. Not as if it makes a difference, but there was NO ONE in line behind me. This location was completely dead, as well as the entire airport, and she should have had all the time in the world to help me. I was on a time crunch, as so many travelers are, and didnt have time to make multiple phone calls to only hang in line for 30 minutes each. I was forced to book with Budget in person and ended up paying more than double of what my Hertz booking was! Now how is it possible an employee of a company in the travel industry such as Hertz, cannot find the time to assist a paying customer even with the smallest amount of effort in times of a recession? Extremely disappointing.

Don’t rent a car from these thieves. I rented a car for one day and they charged me for three days. I opted for an email receipt ( big mistake). Likely an employee took a joy ride at my expense. Called six times and manager never came to the phone or called back to even discuss. Rented 40+ cars from Hertz every year for ten years. Will not use the Jackson location again since they don’t have the courtesy to at least talk to me. Likely will not rent from Hertz as a whole either.

Counter closes too early, and way to much confusion for people needing a car. Myself and another person wandered around the 3 kiosks looking for a rental car. I ended up renting a mini van from Alamo and then came back to Hertz to get my original car and Hertz charged me for the day my flight was late and I had to pay for a day with no car. Drop off was ridiculous as well. Stood in line for 20 minutes because only one poor woman was swamped with customers.

This location is okay for people just getting off a plane who have no way into the city. But my suggestion is if you can get a ride into the city go to one within the city limits. The one at the airport is okay but its tax rate is higher making their prices higher. Besides this one thing everything else is good. They have good customer service and prices are acceptable in a pinch.

I love how easy Hertz is, especially at small airports like this one!Just take your bags and walk across the street (the inside counter is only for non-members/those without reservations) and go directly to the covered lot. The staff is friendly and efficient and youll be on your way in no time!

I will never ever rent from Hertz at the Jackson International Airport. Staff rudely hung up on me and their contract is hidden with multiple hidden fees. Also for the love of god don’t forget to not top you tank off. You’ll pay $9.99 a gallon. Bottom line rude staff that was hard to find when picking it up, and extremely rude on the customer service side when dropping it off

The front desk staff are very friendly. Process my reservation very fast. The low rating is for the guys in the lot. I left my beats headphone in the car. Came back the next day asking about. Unsurprising, the manager said his crew didn’t turn it in to lost/found. Maybe I have too much hope that people will have integrity.

Until recent, I have had a fairly decent experience with this Hertz car rental at Jackson Airport. But this past rental, which I actually currently have, has definitely changed my view of things. Let me start by saying that I am a Hertz Gold Plus Rewards member, my company also has a corporate agreement with Hertz, and I use them frequently. When I went to make my rental reservation online, it offered to upgrade me to a premium class car at the same price based on all the perks that I receive, but I declined it because I felt it was excessive and not needed and somebody else can use it. So I reserved an intermediate/standard car which is equivalent to a Mazda 3 or a Hyundai Elantra. When I arrived at the desk and went through the gold plus line, they handed me the keys and told me they had me in a Chevrolet Sonic, which I never heard of before and because Ive never had any issues with Hertz in the past, I said OK fine. Whatever you say. I had no reason to question them since it had gone smoothly every other time. When I made it to where the cars were located, they told me my car was at the very end of the lot and as I walked past all of the other cars available, I approached the Chevrolet Sonic that they were giving me, and it was/is barely bigger than a smart car! But I thought I mustve made a mistake so I did not question it. Whben I got back to the hotel, and was able to access my email for the first time since traveling early that morning, I saw that I had 2 emails- 1. reminding me of my rental and 2. telling me that there was a change to my rental. I did not change anything with my rental and so I started to compare the two emails where I saw that they had changed me from the intermediate/standard car down to a compact car. From my understanding, if they cannot accommodate something that you requested and you have a membership with them as well as your company having an agreement with them, they are supposed to upgrade you, not downgrade you. Because I had to be at work early the next morning, I proceeded to Google the corporate number and call them to explain my situation and see how they could assist me. The first person I spoke to did not listen to what I had to say and proceeded to tell me that if they did not have the car type that I requested, then they would give me something close and in same class. After I re-explained to him that I walked past a ton of cars on my way to this tiny vehicle, he then must have took the time to double check and see that I was a Gold Plus Rewards member as well as validated my companies arrangement with Hertz. He then told me that I should not have been downgraded and because I was a rewards member, if anything, I shouldve been offered a better car. After talking this over with my spouse, and realizing that they should do something to rectify the situation, I called back but this time to talk to someone at the corporate office. After I explained myself once again, this person told me that theres nothing that they could do at corporate and I would therefore have to contact the Hertz car rental at the airport. Their phone number is nowhere on the rental agreement I was given, so I had to go searching for them online as well as looking at my Hertz website to see what information I could find, and I have dialed two different numbers on four separate occasions and I can never get anyone live. So corporate tells me to take it up locally with the place I rented it from and theres nothing they can do to help me, yet when I reach out to the people who are here at the airport nobody answers the phone. So Im stuck driving this tiny car now because it was, NOT my mistake, but it was theirs and unless I want to Seriously inconvenience myself and go back to the airport to argue with them and exchange the vehicle for something better, Im just going to have to suck it up for the time being. Whats even better is that I have another rental two weeks from now thats already paid for and Im afraid this is going to happen all over again.

Did a 5 day rental at the airport Hertz. Counter girl was exceptional, fast, and gave us just what we needed. Paid extra for quickie return/no gas up, and that made the return very quick and easy. Garage staff was friendly and helped us find car and get us going. Would rent there again any time.

Rented vehicle through Travelocity for third time. Each time purchased coverage through Travelocity. This time, as usual,when I was asked if I wanted insurance, I said no. Was then asked for my credit card, had never been asked before. When I questioned why, was told by desk clerk that it was for a $200 deposit, which would be credited back when I turned the car in. Instead of a credit, I was charged $253 for insurance coverages I had said no to. Have registered a complaint to Travelocity, but seems little they can do. Will not use Hertz in any capacity again.

Service was exceptional. Made my reservation a day to my travel time. There was a long line at the counter, and as a gold member (i would advise anyone to sign up for one, its free) i was told to go to the gold member kiosk where I received the key to the vehicle i reserved, it was clean and ready to go. Made my travel transition from flight to driving smooth.

Utter garbage. I had to drive an hour one way to extend my rental, at which point the girl behind the counter told me I needed to get online to make a new reservation. I also expressed interest in modifyingy rental to add a one way trip 325 miles, to which they says would increase the cost by $1000. I returned the car and rented from Avis, they did the same thing in a better car for $220

Wonderful staff and process during both the pick up and return. Didnt care for the SUV (a Dodge) I was given, but I dont think there was much the staff could do about that. Steer clear of the Dodge SUV. Its big, bulky, and doesnt handle well on the road.

My Hertz experience was fantastic and likely achieved at the best rate possible, considering I was in a brand new sportscar. You can rent used cars or considerably older cars, but if you want a new car you are able to do so at Hertz for around $25 per day, which I think is extremely positive. I got a quick check-in procedure at the airport that went smoothly and with no hitches. I was into the airport and going thru security in less than 5 minutes. Thanks, Hertz!

Everyone was friendly and helpful but I used the windshield washer 4 times and the Low washer Fluid light came on and I was unable to see the speed in miles per hour. Obviously the level was not checked before I picked it up on 12 May. Also there was a squeeling sound when steering wheel turned to the extreme ends

UPDATE from 1 to 3 stars (original complaint below the following): the regional manager contacted me and was super nice. He personally drove a vehicle to my hotel the next morning, dropped the price significantly, and gave me a $100 voucher for the future. Though the Jackson airport location was not operating responsibly, he demonstrated why I will continue to choose Hertz over others generally.------Original complaint:Flight landing was delayed to where our people could only get to Hertz 15 minutes after close. Kiosk attendant was walking away as a line of us with reservations were walking up. Security guard tried to call them to get an attendant back and they told her were out of luck until 6:30am. Called customer service myself and they said the same thing but they would submit a complaint in their system and may or may not get a call back tonight. They already sent me my rental agreement via email as though I already picked up the vehicle. Now Im just sitting here on the curb next to my gold status car that doesnt have my keys in it waiting so I can get to the hotel room I already paid for.

I had a very disappointing experience with Hertz at this location.Not only the condition of my vehicle fell short of my expectations (the interior was very dirty, with bread crumbs everywhere and empty plastic bottles in the trunk).I also didnt receive the car class I had payed for: what I find to be particularly unfair is that I was not told about the change at all. The unfriendly employee just handed me the keys, without even mentioning that I was being assigned a car belonging to a lower category, instead of the one I had payed for in full. Only after seeing the car in person and realizing it did not correspond to the vehicle class I expected, I went back inside to politely ask for explanations, but I did not receive any kind of apology from the staff.They also told me I would be able to ask for a partial refund at the return location, which was incorrect: the employees there said they could no longer do anything about it, since the pick-up location agency was the only one allowed to issue any kind of refund.Overall, this was one of the most uncaring and unprofessional experiences I have ever had with Hertz.

I reserved a car in Jackson, MS. Im giving this experience a 2 because although the price was the best in comparison to other Rental places, the car we reserved was older and smelled of cigarette smoke. We had to use airfreshners and clean the car to get rid of the smell. Please we had to use an AUX cord with our phones because it had no bluetooth as well.

Was not satisfied with the customer service, it was terrible. The pick up date just so happened to be my birthday and the lady that was assisting my husband and I was the reason we were 2 and a half hours behind schedule and missed our appointment that evening, thanks to you guys. Keep both eyes open here. Despite having a Total Estimated Charge written into the contract, when the car was returned, additional fees popped up like dandelions. Gladly, all additional charges were reversed by Hertz customer service a week later.
