I called Chucks to have a simple ten minute repair done, it was literally putting a bolt on my car--thats it. The woman who answered the phone was incredibly rude, she refused to give me any options as to when I could get the work done and since they dont take appointments told me she couldnt get me in for a week. When I asked if there was anyway I could possibly drop off my car first thing in the morning or right before they closed (since I live in the area and could walk back to work) the next day so that I could get my car in their line, she told me no, too bad, take Friday or nothing. There was no options and they were not willing to help me, period. I started to ask her another question and she told me to take my car somewhere else and hung up on me. There are several car repair shops in the Midtown area, not to mention so many others in GR, this woman from Chucks is not professional, rude and not willing to help in any way, shape or form so I dont know why anyone would want to take their car here---If this is how they treat prospective customers it really makes me wonder how trustworthy their mechanics are---I wouldnt trust them with my car and I am going to take her advice and take my business elsewhere.

Had my car looked at after a spin out on the highway. Chucks was able to have my vehicle checked out within just a couple hours. Courteous and professional staff that care about veterans. Overall great experience.

If you go here, you are asking to get ripped off. They will act all honest and nice and tell you you need to replace XYZ on your car when you only need to replace one part.You are better off going straight to the dealership they will be honest, get the job done right, and sure make you pay for it in labor cost. But they will not charge you 3x on parts cost!

My window got stuck down, and after being turned away from another repair shop, Chuck’s fixed it same day. They’re great people.

Your making a mistake if you go here. I do not believe these reviews are legitimate. Be aware.I recommend you move your car elsewhere before they start doing work on your car without consent. Charging you quadruple for parts, and leaving halfway through their work day every day becuase they don’t have “too much work” even though your car is sitting there unfinished.

I would not recommend this shop to anyone or anything, save your time and money and go to Christians auto repair instead. Or honestly you might even save money going to a Murray’s.Almost 3x charge on parts for vehicle, fixing items that do not need to be repaired. I have been a mechanic for 35 years and recently had back surgery and can’t work on my cars so I’d figure I’d give a local a shot.Do not. I repeat, do not go here unless you want the most expensive service for used parts.

Warning.Changing parts that don’t need to be changed, charging a nice “low cost labor” but taking their profits in 4x parts cost.

I would only go here if you are a multimilllionaire and want to pay 3x for normal service and parts.If that’s you than I wouldn’t hesitate to take my car here. Otherwise avoid at all costs.

Great service...very honest company.

Chuck was supposed to do a simple oil change for me but he noticed some major issues that my car needed fixed. He called me prior to doing the work and got my approval before doing the work. He charged me a very fair price and was very nice. He also got everything done within a reasonable time. I would highly recommend chucks auto!! He’s the most reasonable mechanic I’ve been to in GR.

Chucks is hands down the best mechanic in the area and has the best customer experience overall compared to anyone else out there. They always give great quality services in all the years and really know what theyre doing. Ive been bringing my cars to them many years. I took my car for a simple repair last year, and was so impressed! The lovely woman up front, Elissa, gave me a ride to work to save me from having to Uber! So when my car started overheating last Friday night, I called Chuck’s and left a message and I was called back first thing Monday morning. I was able to have it towed in and they looked at it and gave me a quote just a couple hours later!! Price was very fair and the work was done very quickly! Chuck is super knowledgeable and I never felt he was trying to up-sell anything! I will always recommend him to everyone! I took my car to another shop just to have my brakes and rotors changed on my front two wheels on a toyota rav4, after inspection they had told me that the caliper were fused together and needed to be replaced. Knowing the symptoms, I didnt believe that the calipers were bad. I took my car over to chucks and they checked it out and confirmed that the calipers were working just fine. They do honest business here and tell you what your actual problems are without telling you about problems that dont exist. I will definitely be back when I need auto repair.

I was provided with a quick and accurate quote that ended up being less than half of what I was provided from Christian Brothers. They were able to get my car in right away and had it back in less than 3 business days. Extremely happy with their work and communication throughout the process. Great work and excellent value.

I strongly recommend Chucks for the following reasons:-They went above and beyond when my car wouldnt start. They set me up with a towing company, and even picked me up when the job was finished. The customer service was beyond awesome!-They were one of six local mechanics that I contacted. Four of those establishments said they wouldnt even be able to look at my vehicle until the following week. The fifth said they would need at least 3 days. Chucks fixed our car in less than 24 hours!-Chuck himself must be a wizard because he managed to get parts and repair my vehicle for 30% less than the next lowest quote!If you want quality work done in a timely fashion, at a fair price, then do yourself a favor and call Chucks. I was still struggling to find a good garage after moving here from Ann Arbor. One of my friends recommended Chucks and I am so glad I went there. They diagnosed and fixed my air conditioner quickly and offered options in my price range. 3 months later I notice a missing cover for my fuse box when I get an oil change. I called them and they replaced it for free. Talk about great customer service!

My car started shutting off when driving and ended up breaking down in the middle of Michigan/Fuller intersection so I had to push it to Chucks. I had never been there before so was a little concerned about how it would turn out. They offered to give me a ride back to work and would give me a call once they had taken a look at my car. This was my first visit to Chucks, and I will definitely be coming back for whenever my car needs help again! My car was overheating, and they were able to squeeze me in a day earlier to take a look at what was wrong and they fixed it quickly and efficiently! They were super nice and sweet; I didnt feel uncomfortable whatsoever in their business. Unlike other big named car shops, they dont try to upsell you on other problems you may or may not have on your car.

This is a great little Family operated shop.I have had Chuck do work on our cars and we found his work top quality at reasonable prices. Most of all, it was always done when he said it would be. And, The one time he did find something more that wasnt on the initial estimate, when he got into it, he called and asked us if we wanted it fixed while he was in there or not. He was totally honest and told us it was something that can wait, but will need to be done relatively soon. I appreciated that.There is no shortage of auto repair facilities in GR, and You can make your own choice, but I would trust this company and their staff with anything.I have already recommended him to all my friends and acquaintances via Facebook and face to face.Not easy to find places like this today. But they do exist. Chuck & Elissa have worked VERY hard - often for little or nothing just to help those in need. They especially take care of our Veterans.Well Done!

As a woman fairly clueless about cars, I needed an honest place to take my 2007 Jeep after the check engine light popped on, only 7 weeks after I bought the car!The tech at Autozone recommended Chucks, and after reading all the other positive reviews, I felt confident entrusting them with my vehicle. I was able to get in the very next morning after reaching out to them.Though I was hoping for a simple fix, when I explained that I would be needing to drive to Chicago and back in a couple of weeks, Chuck made sure that my vehicle would be up for the trip. Not only did he find and repair extensive damage that both the dealership AND inspectors had failed to mention about my car prior to purchase, but my total bill ended up $200 less than what I was quoted, and they had my car back to me the very next day.Chuck was patient with all of my questions and gave me tips on how to keep my vehicle running smoothly. And the polite lady at the desk even chauffered me home and picked me up the next day, free of charge, so that I wouldnt have to shell out extra for Uber rides.I was highly impressed with their courtesy, professionalism, efficiency, and fair pricing. Chuck is honestly the most honest mechanic Ive ever delt with. Chuck called me multiple times with updates with my vehicle. Was very upfront with the estimates throughout. Even said if the cheaper option didnt work that the price I paid would be absorbed into the more expensive fix. Had spectrum health & veteran discounts. Also offered to pick up and drop off! Hopefully I wont be back but if I need another mechanic Chucks is the place to go!

Chuck is the only honest person Ive encountered in business for the past 5 years. My niece lives in MI and I live in FL. Chuck gave the estimate for the needed repair. He called me back to tell me it wasnt worth fixing the vehicle because once he got in to the repair he found alot more wrong that made the total cost more than the value of the vehicle. Chucks Auto is the first place that I will take my vehicles. Hes worked on both a Nissan Altima and a Volkswagen GTI for me, and in all cases, Ive been completely happy. The last time I took a car there, he checked for the symptoms I told him about, diagnosed it as a body repair (work he doesnt do), and gave me the information that I needed to get it fixed. He didnt make any repairs. He didnt charge me. Who else will do that? The VW dealership wanted $100 just to look at it, which in this case, would have been a $100 to learn that there was nothing they could do. If youre looking for an independent tech, Chucks offers good work at a good price...reliably.

Went, to this,shop yesterday and,was told I,had to,replace,my entire,headlights assembly and,my,wiring was messed completely up, and,needed,a,$482 job did on my vehicle so I picked up my,car and,went to get a,second opinion and all I needed was a $1 fuse and to replace,.my bulbs,because,my neon pink bulbs were blowing fuses, so $482 turned n2 $41.83 for diagnostic,charges my $1 fuse, and,tax!!!

This is the only mechanic I will ever go to again!!! Always takes care of me and doesnt gip me in the price.
