This review is primarily for the amazing leasing consultant - Alex Murray, who has made my application process incredibly easy and so streamlined.I scheduled an appointment online & had the pleasure of meeting with Alex for an in-person appointment and self-guided tour this weekend. He was super helpful and very knowledgeable when it came to offering which units he thought would best suit the needs I was looking for. Not to mention, hes incredibly courteous & I even went with the unit he initially suggested! The building itself is very clean and has every amenity one needs - including ones for your pups as well. Its in a desirable location with lots of stores and restaurants in close distance.Thank you again Alex for all your help!

I’ve lived in Camden for almost two years and now because of work I must move. Things haven’t always been perfect but what matters is how you respond in times of stress or when issues arise. Brooke Copeland and Alex Murray have both always been very willing to help and make things as smooth as possible. They take ownership and see the issue through until resolved. Amazing Experience touring with Eric at Camden in Glendale! My wife and I toured the property about 2 weeks ago after receiving our renewal offer. Eric was there to help us and took us on a fantastic tour. Right off the bat, this guy was great, by far he was the probably the most professional, and knowledgeable leasing consultant that we had interacted with, he was very thorough. Not to say that we had bad experiences touring other communities, it was just that Eric was that good. I would personally hire him if I was running a community property, although I am sure he would be capable in any position presented to him. The property amenities were amazing, and it was nice to see that the people living there were actually using them! Throughout the tour Eric was very personable, and seemed genuinely interested in seeing if this was the right community for us. We loved all of the all of the entertaining areas, in unit appliances, and community amenities! Although we did not end up moving here, it was only because our current community offered us a larger unit for less than what we pay now, and we have been there for almost 4 years now. Had we decided to move out of the building, Camden was definitely a top contender. We were confident that amazing our experience touring with Eric would have translated into wonderful living experience at Camden, Glendale. I would highly recommend that you meet him and check out the property.

I would like to start by saying I love this community! When I toured this place with Alex going through the Live spaces I knew I would just love it here.  He and Brooke made the process and the move in for us, smooth and pleasant!  We moved here from San Diego, with that said, I am going to explain why Camden Glendale deserves 5 stars....Star 1: Friendly, above and beyond Office Staff (Professional)Star 2: Maintenance is amazing and prompt, anytime we have had an issue, (which is rare) its handled in a timely manner and always with a smile and future knowledge!  Cisco, Martin, and Margarito have all been to my home and have been extremely helpful!  I truly appreciate them all! They never have anything bad to say and will do whatever it takes to accommodate your needs. Best crew I have ever had to deal with! The grounds keeper/cleaner Alma and Lily of the building is always on top of things, and does it with a beautiful smile!Star 3: Amenities are perfect, Gym and pool may have been closed because of COVID but that’s not Camden’s call, Business Center, Conference Room, Social/sitting locations, roof top lounges, pool table!!! Like What!!!! I love it!Star 4: Community and Surrounding area are always beautiful and well maintained. Having the mall, grocery store and Starbucks across the street is a plus if you love the outdoors and have animals!Star 5: Portos Bakery, Tender Greens, and Lola’s Peruvian Restaurant all in a 5 min drive... What else can I say!!  Amazing place to live!!  (Highly Recommended) Camden Glendale we LOVE YOU!

Camden Glendale Apartments, where to begin? The amenities (pre-Covid) were great! The gym, office area, pool, etc. were all kept very clean and maintenance were always on top of malfunctioning items. However, where this place really shines is in the employees.I tend to be a very on top of, type A individual when ensuring a deal is going to push through. The employees here at Camden made the apartment search and acquisition very seamless. Valerie, Alex, and David were all very attentive and serving. At times, they made my wife and I feel as if we were the only residents in the building! From every concern to every request, theyve been more than accommodating and understanding. This review is for Brooke Copeland. We moved here during the pandemic after our old place gave us the option to break our lease. We needed more space and were looking to get out of LA, and we ended up here at Camden. We were scrambling for a new apartment since we only had a week to leave. We saw soooo many different apartments, but a friend from our old complex moved here and loved it. We took her word for it, applied for a unit at 8pm Wednesday night, and we moved in that Saturday without even seeing the unit.I dont recommend this usually. But Brooke called us the next day to verify our info, and set us up on our lease. She worked with me to get my ESA paperwork in and made our entire move-in process so pleasant, I knew we made the right decision. Brooke was so warm, friendly, patient (we were kind of a pain in the a**), but she always maintained a smile and never once hesitated to help us out. It doesnt end there.Weve lived here for almost 5 months now, and weve become Brookes number one fans LOL. And by that I mean, shes our go-to. We bug her probably more often than anyone could tolerate, but she is SO kind. Every thing weve needed taken care of, Brookes been there: My perishable meal prep ended up somewhere random? Brooke brought it to our door. Ants made it way up our balcony? Brooke got us in for the exterminator appointment. This is merely a fraction of what Brooke has done for us. She has worked tirelessly to keep us happy and were new residents. If thats not top tier care, I dont know what is.Brooke, we are so so grateful for you. Youve made moving and living in the times of COVID so pleasant, and we honestly cannot thank you enough.

Firstly, when I was looking to move in this luxury apartment I was busy with school and didnt have a chance to sift through all the HELPFUL yelp reviews, and they seemed to be hidden when I did look. Make sure to ask them questions about flooding!! Ask residents, and take it from me, dont move here!Secondly, since I have moved in, which was a little over a month ago, the fire alarms have gone off 3-4 times. That is ONCE a week. Once a week someones apartment unit has flooded, and that is simply unbearable!Thirdly, this is not a new issue, according to a recent meeting, this has been happening for over 6 months, and they are only now attempting to address the situation. They have not tried to inform the residents at an earlier time before this recent meeting. I would not be able to imagine living here for over a month and not being in the know.Fourthly, the flooding issues keep me up at night, sometimes Id rather not even sleeping in my own home because I am worried I will be woken up at any time with damage to all my furniture, my electronics, and the like. From what I have seen, they make people delete/edit their reviews, and I refuse to do this. I want to save you guys from making the same unfortunate mistake as I have made. It has caused me a lot of extreme stress in my life, I have no time to constantly move, and they are not helping resolve this situation anytime soon because according to them, they dont know what is wrong with the fire sprinklers and they wont have a solution at any time!I was not informed when I moved in about these issues, and now theyre saying they will be informing new residents, so please read these reviews and take them seriously! The floods are a real issue, they dont seem to have any solutions, and they dont communicate fully with the residents with any useful information!

This is by far the best apartment community I’ve ever lived. My wife and I rent a studio and we just love it. We’ve lived in 5 different Camden communities as well, all around the country. Nothing compares to Camden Glendale. They have a dog park, a dog spa, a 24/7 gym, which saves us a drive and pay if we lived in a different place. The rent is not cheap, but nothing in California is. And with the location, amenities, and extraordinary staff, it’s worth every penny. Our neighbors are always nice, polite, and very clean. The whole complex is spotless. We had a street side loft, the building could care less when tenants dogs pooped or peed right in front of our door. Homeless people would loiter all around the building with it being our responsibility to address it. Our loft was two floors with literally one window that barely opened. Lastly, management for the building used to be top notch, they slowly started firing every honorable worker they had and replaced them with soul drained corporate slaves. For the money people are paying there you can easily rent a beautiful house. First, Let me start by summarizing my story. DONT rent from these people, they are not a luxury apartment nor helping in situations. THEY ARE CROOKS!! I signed a Lease in October of 2017 and within 2 weeks, my apartment gets flooded because of corrosion in the sprinklers. Since my unit got flooded, 4 other units got flooded due to the same situation. My whole unit was flooded, not to mention I just furnished my apartment with brand new furniture. During this process, I was not informed that I am responsible for the time that I was not staying in my unit. How am I responsible when it was not livable when there are people coming in and out of the unit trying to fix everything. They removed the toilet and pulled all the carpet in the unit also left dehumidifier in the rooms with fans. How am I responsible for the time of November? They charged me $1,700.00 for 2 weeks in November while they were cleaning and fixing the unit. Then had the nerves to tell me that I have to go get it back from the insurance. So basically, the management said this Well Im so sorry that you had to deal with this and I understand your situation but this is how corporate runs these types of situation. You are responsible for paying for the unit everything is moved out. But you can go get the rent back from the renters insurance THEY WERE IN MY UNIT FIXING AND REMOVING THE CARPETS AND DOING REPAIRS. SHOULDNT I CHARGE THEM FOR USING MY UNIT SPACE!!!They removed the toilet so the whole place smells like sewage.Pretty much they making me pay the rent and I have to file paper work with insurances to get it back while they are fixing my unit. These people just want your money and dont even try to help with any situation knowing the fact is they ruined everything.

Review №45

Potential renters, do not waste your time with this place.Although its not clear when the root cause manifested, beginning in March 2017, the fire sprinklers have been malfunctioning such that they completely discharge *at random*. When this occurs, dozens of gallons of sewage water sprays onto your belongings every minute. Simultaneously, the fire alarms sound throughout the entire 300-unit complex. If this occurs on an upper level, the water seeps through the floors into apartments below, destroying property there as well. This has happened at all hours of the day - the most recent event occurred at 4am. Each time, evacuated residents are left milling about on the sidewalk with no word from anyone whether its safe to return to their apartments. Meanwhile, affected residents scramble to move their belongings into the hallway in a desperate attempt to salvage their possessions and valuables.Camden requires anyone seeking to be temporarily relocated to another apartment to sign a contract releasing them of all liability and imposing a strict social media gag rule silencing the victim from speaking out about the problem. The tenants is STILL responsible for paying rent in the destroyed apartment, that has to be vacated so drywall can be replaced in an effort to prevent mold. Electric blowers run 24 hours a day in the hallways hooked up to electrical outlets in the victims apartment, incurring huge power bills.Tenants were told that a plan was in place to work with the Glendale Fire Department to turn off the sprinkler system. Five months later, and no tangible actions have been taken. Any time someone raises general questions or seeks general information on the community forum website, management either ignores the question or quietly seeks out that resident and provides an answer in isolation, preventing any alarming information from reaching the overall community. This pattern of division is so well established and predictable, communications with management are now perceived as a joke by residents.Residents seeking to renew their lease have been repeatedly told that a solution is in the works and will be enacted in 2-3 weeks. But we recently were visited by corporate representatives who have finally explicitly acknowledged that the solution, whereby detergent is flushed through the sprinkler system to destroy rust-causing microbes, is waiting on sprinkler head manufacturers to verify that the detergent wont damage the sprinkler heads!Management refuses to put residents in touch with their fire safety inspectors and vendors, leaving residents in the dark about their objective factual findings and keeping us dependent on Camden for any information they decide to share.Worst of all, many recent new tenants were NOT informed about this ongoing systemic issue! AT ALL!Camden has acknowledged the basic failure to provide a comfortable living environment by offering to let tenants break their lease without penalty, along with a moving stipend. Many residents believe this is too little too late. The big takeaway is that, when things go well, the place is not bad. But if/when any major crisis occurs, you can count on Camden to politely treat you like a legal adversary, rather than a human being depending on them for basic safety and security.By the way, any recent positive reviews were likely written by residents of Building 1 - so far, all of the sprinkler discharges have occurred in Building 2. But less than a week ago, even Camdens VP of Construction acknowledged that they know of no reason discharges wouldnt occur in Building 1 as well.

Update: Camden has been proactive about replacing items taken and broken by workers, so Ive adjusted the rating. After living here almost a year Ive downgraded my review. Repairs have been made on a regular basis to every unit in the building since we moved in causing frequent disruption. The problems are building-wide and it was built only a few years ago. Repairs are necessary and out of the operators control, which I understand, but its the utter lack of tenant respect and violation of CA landlord standards of conduct which bring this review to one star. During the repair process, several days in a row, workers entered our unit and were left unsupervised. On multiple occasions they failed to lock our door after finishing work and left our place a mess. We complained but nothing changed. Furniture was moved and not returned to their place every occasion. We always moved furniture back ourselves. Appliances were left unplugged and random household goods like handsoap and cups, which werent near areas of work, were moved around. Paint now stains our comforter and windows. Repair work is understandable, but the lack of respect and safety is inexcusable.

They are negligent, discriminatory, harass residents online, violate ADA and retaliate against anyone who speaks negatively about them or complains because theyre a publicly traded REIT and cannot have negative press. I want to love this place soo much because if it weren’t for a major community wide sprinkler malfunction issue and some utterly sloth like responses to maintenance and security issues it’d be a great place to live. Amenities down for months. Unacceptable! However, residents have been dealing with random sprinkler discharges containing non potable water ruining their units, belongings and mental peace. Alarms sound in this community at least twice monthly since 3/17 and every single time it corresponds to another resident being flooded and displaced. Some twice!!!! The lack of urgency from corporate in dealing with this is appalling being that there have been 35 discharges so far with the most recent at 415am blasting us from our beds. It’s shouldn’t have gotten past two before they took action!Their moving compensation is a joke $500 in addition to your security deposit back. Many residents have moved and have yet to be made whole by Camden since they have admitted to the sprinkler system having the issue. Nor the renters insurance companies. It’s beyond upsetting to pay for “luxury living “ and get way less than that. Then have to spend more money to move to have some peace of mind as there is no concrete fix in sight in the near future. They have failed to disclose the issue to new residents moving in as recent as a week ago. Despicable!!!Get it together Camden!

I signed a 12 month lease and ended up terminating it after 11 months. Throughout the duration of my stay, I was moved into 4 different apartments, two of which were flooded by malfunctioning sprinklers (4/16/17 and 10/28/17). I even cant begin to express the devastating impacts these incidents had on my familys health, finances, time and sanity. Its almost insulting to see some reviewers try to downplay these issues, in light of everything that we went through last year.I am beyond frustrated with the lack of support that we received from the Camden management team. They are very good at moving people in and out of the building, but their skillset does not extend beyond those tasks. The leasing staff do not have the ability or perhaps empowerment to address customer concerns and there is no interest in retaining tenants.Ive experienced way better quality of life and service at Equity and Essex properties in LA. My advice is to stay far far away from Camden! Im sure they will eventually fix the sprinkler issue, however I am less optimistic that they will change the way they treat their tenants and conduct business if any unforeseen circumstances arise.

UPDATE: Be wary of good reviews. After me and a few other tenant posted bad reviews about the recent alarm triggers, some new 5 star reviews went up. At least one new reviewer, Britney Harner is a Camden employee at the Hollywood location.I moved here in mid May. From looking at reviews on multiple sites it had seemed like the issues with the fire alarms had been resolved, nothing had been posted in a long time about false alarms. That is NOT the case. Move here at your own risk. I guess older tenants just got fed up with posting about it. The fact that theyve been having issues as recent as a month or so before I moved in was not disclosed during the leasing process. In the past few weeks, there have been (3) false alarm triggers (4 if you count 2 that were back to back within 20 minutes of each other), with very poor communication from Camden. On the resident online board, people post about this being an ongoing problem since at least 2017. The office staff, while Im sure are frustrated because many are tenants, are stuck giving corporate answers and telling us to call or come by the office for information-- highly inconvenient. Of those false alarm triggers, only the most recent one was given a reason, which was supposedly a tenant smoking. Considering Ive accidentally smoked up my unit cooking once or twice with no alarm triggered and alarms are rarely sensitive enough to be triggered by the very small amount of smoke coming off of one cigarette, this is highly doubtful to be the legitimate reason. Supposedly, the whole alarm system was replaced but without the issues being fixed. In addition to the alarm issue, my unit wasnt technically move in ready-- having window screens covered in paint from the repainting and heavy staining on the balcony. Ive followed up about this a handful of times-- last update was a month ago saying that the replacement screens had been ordered. Meanwhile, theyre trucking right along remodeling the empty retail space on the ground floor into rentable live/work units to make money.Basically, beware and dont move here.

How that happened I have no clue, and I know I was only post to be about a year lease, because they send me a email every so often telling “you don’t have renters insurance” and which I already know that because it wasn’t meant to be a 2 year lease. Work orders take forever to get done, there’s been cases where I’ve made a work order several times for the same issue and it wasn’t fixed. I had pest control come yesterday to spray, and I’m still killing ants. to be honest I hate living here might opt out of my (forced) 2yr lease.

Whatever you do, dont move here! Multiple apartments have been flood from faulty sprinklers and corporate DOES NOT CARE about its residents. Not only are they not appropriately compensating us for the situation but also they have vacated us for almost 24 hours with only a 3 day notice and no accommodations provided. Any other decent place would have hotels booked for its residents in such a situation. Trying to discuss these issues with management leads nowhere. The sprinklers have been discharging for about a year and I was never informed. I just moved in about 3 months ago and now Im having to move again. I would never have chosen Camden had I known. The day I moved in, there were people at the complex repairing some water damage from a faulty sprinkler discharge and the leasing representative pretended to not know what was going on. LIES FROM THE BEGINNING

First of all the Americana on Brand Ave is SO much more money than Camden and you get to listen to their awful playlist of music all day and all night long. Really?? That sounds appealing? A lot more noise than this location. The train, well yes, it is a drag I agree but the station has been there forever, as well as the hospital on Central Ave, sorry you didnt notice when looking at apartments. Yes, the disruptions have be an inconvenience but the management team has been doing the best they can and at the end of the day they take care of business. I have been here for over a year and I absolutely love my place. I would not think of going anywhere else.

THE most unethical, unprofessional excuse of a business. I was completely scammed by these absolute frauds. The owners should be ashamed of themselves. DO NOT I repeat DO NOT GET A LEASE FROM THESE PEOPLE. THEY WILL ROB YOU DRY AND LEAVE YOU OUT ON THE STREET. THEY TAKE FOOD OUT YOUR CHILDRENS MOUTH TO FILL THEIR ALREADY HEAVY WALLETS. Disgusting. If I could rate them a 0 I would.

I have been living at Camden for 3 years now (6th floor, building 1) and all I have to say is that my experience there was nothing but positive. Every time we had a small issue in the apartment (which is absolutely normal!), the management team would fix it right away. The employees were always so nice and professional and always tried their hardest to help us with anything we needed. It is not Camdens fault if there is a train that is close by. You make that decisions when you move in! You know it is a busy road, you know there is a train close by and you cannot blame the building for that! Especially when the insulation is actually really good. When the windows are closed, we cannot hear anything. The location of the building is perfect as it is close by to very cool neighborhood Atwater village and not far away from Los Feliz as well. It is surrounded by many bus routes and allows people who do not have cars (like me) to go anywhere they want. The rent is not the same price at all as Americana at the Brand (and who wants to live above a shopping mall that plays the same songs over and over again). The thing we always loved about Camden as opposed to all the other luxury ones in Glendale is the fact that they were a bit cheaper and they promoted a quiet family lifestyle, no crazy DJ parties at the pool, just small and quiet events (pet adoption events, bagel delivered in the morning, Starbucks delivered to your apartment unit at no extra charge!).We are now living in a one bedroom (730 sq.feet) with top of the line laundry in unit, brand new dishwasher, beautiful counter tops, garbage valet, beautiful big windows and a great view of Los Angeles. We have visited many apartment for the same price as our one bedroom (in Atwater or Los Feliz, 3-4 blocks away) but with no pool, no barbecue, no gym, no computer room, no laundry in unit, no parking.People in Camden complain about the smallest things, and most of the problems in the building mentioned in these reviews are due to people not respecting the rules. They smoke, they leave their garbage outside of their doors, they leave the gym dirty or they dont clean after their dogs. Once again, all of this has nothing to do with Camden employees who (really) do their hardest.

Ive lived here for just about a year, and I will be renewing my lease. The quality of the apartments are nice (I have only lived in one better, and that was in the heart of Scottsdale, AZ). The staff is astounding! They are genuinely nice, not just nice while theyre working. I saw my leasing agent in the gym one time and she still said hey and chatted for a minute! I have never had an encounter with any member of the staff (leasing, maintenance, anyone) where I wasnt treated nicely.Let me address some of the negative things I hear people whining about:Sure, the fire alarm goes off occasionally (far more than any other complex) and its loud, but they know this is a pain point and have been working to identify the cause and address it (sprinkler issues, which isnt the current staffs fault people - thats constructed before they were even able to work here).Sometimes the trash chutes get backed up, but that charge youre also complaining about paying (the twentyish a month) for valet trash means you dont have to go to the chute. I have lived here for just under a year and personally havent used the valet trash because I just walk it to the chute, I think twice the door has been jammed. Twice. Big whoop.Wifi! Yeah, its included in rent. Im a software engineer, I need faster WiFi, it sucks I had to go through AT&T since thats who services here (and just them), but I pay an extra $50 on top of the existing $89 (which includes basic TV, not that I use it) for gigabit. Thats a normal price youd pay anywhere for damn well working internet. AT&T has surprised me here, but thats a different review.Side-bar: Technology packages and trash service fees are a common thing to pay for in any type of luxury complex, having lived in them for a few years now.

Previously lived at a Camden property back at home in Texas and decided to check this location out as we prep for a potential relocation to the area. My husband and I tried calling 3-5 times to schedule an appointment and no one answers the phone. We arrive around 11:00am and the guy working in the leasing office is beyond rude and uninterested in assisting with the search. We had already searched units on the website and knew exactly which one we wanted to rent assuming there was a place for our dog to use the bathroom. Cant express how disappointed I am that the Camden brand would have such a rude employee working for them. Maybe I was just spoiled by the exceptional team working at the City Centre property in Houston. To this Glendale location, I say no thanks. Ill take my $2800 a month to someone that will at least be friendly during the tour process. Do yourself a favor and dont waste your time here.
