I want to thank everyone who worked on my 99 chevy these past 3 weeks.I just recently had my fuel pump, locking ring, fuel filter and fuel tank replaced. The fuel filter HAD NOT been changed since the very first owner had it (a couple people owned it before I purchased it from the last owner who was a friend of my husband and I). I have had no issues with the truck and they did an excellent job and when I called, David made me aware of what was going on and aware me of what the pricing was as well as his plans to fix certain parts.These guys are VERY reliable and DEFINITELY trust worthy. I will definitely be bringing my truck back to them for ANY work that needs to be done.Thank you for making my baby feel better again. πŸ’–πŸ’–

I have been going to them for years never has an issue then on July 8th 2021 I went to get an inspection and they came back saying I need a rear brake job and new rotors and a new bulb that came out to almost 500. they wanted to charge 35$ to change a simple bulb in the back which when I went to check was unplugged and I once I plugged it bavk in it worked then I check the brake pads their was more then a quarter left on them and i know the rotors where still good cause I just put new ones on 9 months ago. Complete rip off just trying to get money out of me

Burtons always goes above and beyond. The service is always friendly and professional and call me by name when I enter the shop. Today, I locked my keys in the car and called Burtons for advice on how to find a locksmith. Instead, Steve came out personally and managed to just tinker a bit and opened the door with no fuss! I was so relieved! Burtons is a place you can go to for all your auto needs.

My wife and I recently replaced four tires on my Chevy Tahoe in November 2020. The right rear tire blew out on my vehicle on I-95 at highway speed. I called Burtons Automotive and received directions to the shop. I drove the car off the ramp on to route 17 and made it to Burtons.I did not realize the full extent of the damage until I got to the shop. I had no tire left and was riding on the rim.I met Ronnie Meaux and Jeff Scott the owners of Burtons Automotive they were able to negotiate a great price on four tires and get us back on the road.Their professionalism and expertise made a difficult situation easier to deal with. Our experience with their customer service was great. The Ronnie & Jeff team at Burtons Automotive made sure all of our questions were answered and every step of the work process was explained.We are grateful for their help and are thrilled with the repairs. We have already recommend their Automotive shop to several neighbors and will continue to do so.

Sharing my experience with you that happened a while back but still makes me angry thinking about it:Been taken my various vehicles to Burtons over the years for inspections since 2002, and had good experience, never had a failed inspection or experience pushing of recommended service .So one day I decided to take my Nissan P/U with 75k miles in for diagnosis of a rattling sound from the exhaust system, and was told by a service advisor that I need a new catalytic converter for $1500, and went into great detail about the defect, and even offered me a discount over the phone after I told him I simply dont have $1500.Luckily for me, I took it to Pohanka Nissan for a second opinion and to see if that would be covered under some type of manufacture warranty, only to find out, and shown, by dealer mechanics that there was absolutely nothing wrong with the catalytic converter or the exhaust system, and the noise came from a simple loose heat shield. Although I no longer have to pay $1500, I still had to pay the dealer diagnosis for a non-existent problem, all because the Service Advisors lie.So not knowing if this is common practice for the business or just oneService Advisor who is dishonest, I suspect they all work on commission (but just a guess), so you are rolling the dice depending on which Service Advisor you get, which may explain why some people had great experience while other didnt as seen in the reviews, and I was one of those who had great experience until the last incident.

New to stafford. Dropped my F150 at night for minor stuff and an inspection. They called me by 9:00am and it was done. Didn’t try to find extra repairs. Front desk lady was super polite. Hope my truck doesn’t need help soon but I will go back definitely. I can’t believe some other jerk gave a one star review about masks. They have plexy glass up for gods sake.

Average place. I showed up for an inspection and emmissions test with no appointment and was told I had five customers ahead of me. No big deal, Ill wait. Well, here I wait coming up on four hours and no one has checked on me or any customer from what Ive seen. May be time to think about remodeling the lobby? Better/more comfortable seats? The environment is not ideal for waiting long periods of time. Larger dealerships may cost more money, but the service and environment is what keeps people coming back. Nothing wrong with Burtons. Just average. I love contributing to local businesses but its tough when the competition outshines.

I came in for my state inspection and noticed that not a single employee in the entire establishment was wearing a mask. Plexiglass barriers are set up at the service counter but are completely useless when maskless employees walk around the counter every 10 minutes to hand customers paperwork or grab a drink from the vending machine. It worries me to know that a mechanic may have been working on my car without taking any safety precautions while inside my vehicle. Very unsafe.

Repair shops are a hit or miss... After reading Jeffs review, i have to say hes absolutely wrong and has no idea what a honest extremely competitive repair shop is. This company has been here for a long time. Ive used them for over 20 years and ill flat out tell you and Jeff.. There is no one else around here or within 50 miles that can hold a candle to Burtons. They are extremely efficient, honest with what your car needs, its cost, and what really takes 1st prize is they will not stick you with other unneeded repairs. Wont find another great group of people to care for your car anywhere...if i could rate a 10 Id make sure i went 11...a Step above just a repair shop...dedicated, honest, loyal, friendly people..keep up the great job guys...

Excellent customer service. Got an oil change at Burton’s last week and it turns out the oil filter used was defective (the fault of the manufacturer) so I woke up to a large pool of oil in my garage today. I called Burton’s and even though it wasn’t their fault they were so apologetic. They replaced the oil and filter again and even offered to come to my residence to clean up the oil on the garage floor.Their level of customer service is what I consider to go above and beyond. I will continue to use Burton’s for all of my auto maintenance and repairs. They earned a very loyal customer today.

Been here a few times quick service but most recent visit I was told an inner tierod replacement would cost me $600 as a mechanic myself I know that is over priced. In addition I checked the tierods the same day I brought it in and they were fine seems like they were feeding of the symtom of the car pulling to one side Im sure just trying to get an upcharge very disappointing.

Burtons is a reasonable repair shop close my house. The staff is great, and no matter where I take my car I always feel like I can be taken advantage of just due to lack of knowledge about vehicles, however I usually do not feel gouged here. Theyve looked at my vehicle for low cost or no cost before road trips, for safety, and other small favors. All in all a good shop. Im disappointed some people had bad experiences. A friend who is a mechanic usually looks at my car before and after I take it to Burtons, and weve not felt lied too.........

Ive read the other reviews. And like most, you see only the ones where someone wants to complain.I have lived in and around Stafford for almost 18 years. I have used a few different repair shops, for work that I cant or dont have time to do myself.I have yet to have to return to Burtons for warranty work. I have yet to have something they installed break. I have yet to see where they are really more expensive than any other shop. And They have always had my car ready in the time frame that they gave me.And I have always been put at ease when dealing with their counter staff.

My husband and I were driving 16 hours to go to his brothers wedding and on our way we heard a noise and a little later I breaks sound like they were dragging. We went in and told him that we were traveling and what the problem was and that we had just had breaks rotors and calipers replaced. The inspected it and found that the previous place didnt tighten the caliper bolts so one fell off and and had damaged the wheel and the lugs werent tight. We had only made it 3 hours into our trip. They told us we should go back to the dealer who fixed it originally and get them to pay for our bill and a new wheel. And allowed us to go back why they were working to take pictures of the wheel.

Took my car there a couple years back. Only writing a review now because I pass it often on 17 and it brings back old resentful feelings. I took my car there to get an alignment. They did the alignment and when I went there to pick up they said I needed new tires and if I drove it, I would pull my car out of alignment again. I was not prepared to pay for new tires and installation so therefore if I had known that beforehand I would not have gotten the alignment. I felt taken advantage because I was a young woman and knew little about cars. Slowly learning! #stillbitter

STAY AWAY from these crooks at all costs!I am new to the area, and was looking for a good, honest repair shop near my home. I took my truck in (150,000 miles) because the brake lines were leaking, and there was a small fuel leak. I thought this would be simple, and they seemed like capable folks. I dropped it off in the morning. That afternoon I got a call saying my brakes were totally shot (I had them replaced less than a year ago!), my exhaust system was rusted through and was dangerous, my axles were completely unsafe, and the small fuel leak would cost $200.00 just in labor--and the parts werent made any more so they were hunting for them. According to them I also needed a head gasket, at almost $2000.00, since I was leaking oil. Also, I needed considerable other work, but they were only able to estimate labor costs...no parts costs were EVER discussed.The car was working fine other than the brakes. Even the fuel leak was minor. I told them to do the brakes and exhaust and see what they could do for the fuel leak. I asked for an estimate and Tom said Ill take care of you. He said it would be done the next day, and they would call with the estimated cost before they started--they had to fabricate the brake lines. They did not call. When I called the next evening, I was told the AXLES were almost done and they could not do the fuel leak since they couldnt find the parts. Also, they did the state inspection. WHAT state inspection? Im military, the car is registered in another state, and I never said anything about an inspection. And I never authorized the axles.I showed up immediately and they told me what I had originally thought would cost a few hundred was now almost $2000.00. I asked what they thought they were doing, completing unauthorized work without giving me estimates. Tom (the old guy, and the most dishonest) said he thought I had said you wanted to get the truck up to state inspection level. I would NEVER have said that.He also did the exhaust system--a new muffler was already installed! I had never authorized that but Tom said I thought you said to do that.I told him I had NOT said that, and needed to know the COST before I authorized any work. He just repeated that he would take care of me. I dont want to be taken care of...I want to know the price of things. My brakes were relined, NEW rotors, NEW calipers, NEW pads, even though the old ones were less than a year old. All I had asked for was to fix the brake leak, which they told me were in the lines. THATS ALL. When my displeasure showed, Tom repeated Ill take care of you, and proceeded to muddy up the invoice with a lot of extra charges, then took an hour or two off the already inflated labor charges. And adding insult to injury, I was charged the state inspection fee for an inspection I never NEEDED nor wanted.So overall, I got a completely new brake system, completely new axles, completely new muffler and tail pipe, and a completely worthless state inspection sticker. And I still had the fuel leak (which I fixed myself, properly, with OEM parts, for $30.00!) Oh, and the upshot? My car hesitates on acceleration after they put in the new exhaust. It runs WORSE now!Bottom line? If you go in for small work, they will scour your car looking for ANYTHING they can fix to charge you for. They will only tell you estimated labor costs....and then will pretend you authorized work so they can charge you more. They charge double the hours the work should take, and gouge on parts costs. Totally shady, and no wonder they are not very busy. Needless to say, I have taken my business elsewhere.

I am from out of state, but have lived in VA previously, so I know about the state inspections/emissions requirements. I had a check engine light on, and decided to take the car, a 2005 Volkswagen Passat. to Burtons Automotive to get it looked at. The following reasons are why I can not recommend their shop:1) When got there, I asked how long it would take so that I could make a decision about whether or not to wait there. Bob said it would be real quick. 2 hours later, nobody had said a word to me. I asked them how much longer, because I couldnt wait there all day, and Bob said, Its gonna be here all day, and probably all weekend. If it is, well get you a loaner car. I asked them to call me as soon as they knew.2) By 4:30, they still hadnt called me. I knew they closed at 5, so I called them. Bob went through a whole laundry list of things that were wrong with the car. Keeping in mind that the car showed absolutely no signs of anything being wrong other than the check engine light being on, I asked him what absolutely needed to be done to pass inspections/emission, he said all of it, and quoted me $2300 for everything. I found it hard to believe; I mean, the car isnt that old and only has 100K miles on it. Thats either a down payment for a new car, or a whole new engine...3) He told me afterward that they had to do over three hours worth of diagnostic testing to find out all the things that were wrong with it. This equaled over $300. Not once did they inform me that this would be the case until after they did so.4) I decided to get at least one thing fixed so that I wouldnt end up paying $300 dollars for a piece of paper telling me everything that was wrong with my car. So I told him to fix one of the things, and then he still ended up charging me for the diagnostics on top of the repairs. His reasoning for this essentially was that since I didnt have all the repairs done he had to charge me for the diagnostics. I argued this, and eventually he said that he would give me a discount and only charge me $200 for the diagnostics.Its easy to get the feeling youre getting taken advantage of when it comes to fixing you car because you just dont have the technical knowledge. But to feel like youre being out right lied takes someone special. For the first time in my life, I felt like I was being outright lied to.
