Our 18 wheeler was towed. It cost us 1,500.00. After getting the truck back my driver was returning to our shop and the entire drive shaft broke before he got back to the shop. Seriously dangerous! Just found out today from one of THIER EMPLOYEES that their driver broke our drive shaft, couldnt put it back on correctly and had some nobody put it on wrong! You are sabotaging peoples lively hood and placing them in danger. Zero stars

We have used Grimm’s for over 6 years for mechanical repairs and general servicing of our diesel pick up truck and RV’s. We have only had excellent experiences with them over the years. We have always dealt with Rick. Note: we are not related to, or personal friends, of anyone who works there.

Grimms picked my Dads Motor home up from 795 after failing brakes. Let him know that their shop in Frederick could fix it quickly for him. Tow truck driver was friendly, and knowledgeable. Motor home was fixed by 10:00 am the next morning. Everyone was pleasant from driver, receptionist, and owners. The price they charged for repairs was a very fair price. This is an example where you cant always let reviews help you make your decision of a business. Thanks to Grimms Automovation my Dad is on his way to his bluegrass festival, and wont have to miss a beat. Thanks again!

Ilegally towed my truck, I got it back after 1.5 hours of waiting. They dragged my awd car in park and attached the hooks to my leaf springs.Edit: I called Rob to inform him of how the towtruck driver towed my car incorrectly and he, without telling me he would be doing so, sent the driver back with a partner who proceeded to yell at me and get increasingly violent. They saw me 3 hours later and followed me to 7/11 and yelled at me from their window.Awful companyViolent driversScummy tacticsIn the end avoid this company at all costs.For background I work security and they had my car called in on a lot it was approved to be at, they ignored the security signs and towed it anyway. They were on another call so they werent able to get my car back for another hour and a half preventing me from doing my job.

I have a 2010 Montana 5th wheel and broke the rear set of leaf springs on I-270. They sent out Russel to fix it. He apologized profusely for being on another job and us having to weight for him.He helped us get the camper to a park and ride and off the interstate. He did not have the springs to fix them but helped us get them and came back the next morning to install the and the 2 new tires we had to replace.I cannot thank Grimms enough not Russel for their attention to detail and insistence on getting this fixed right. He gave us all kinds of advice for when we get back home for other small issues to check up on.Hope you never break down in Frederick, MD, but if you do, these are the guys to call for auto, truck and tractor trailer repairs.

I had an accident on Monday, January 22 at around 5PM. My vehicle was not driveable so the police officer on the scene called this company to tow my car. I advised the police officer and the driver of the tow truck that my drivers side door did not open. There was very little physical damage on that door, but the fender was pushed up against it so it couldnt open. Sometime between 5PM on January 22nd through Wednesday, January 24th when my insurance adjuster went to write the estimate on my car, someone from this company decided that they didnt care that my door didnt open, they were going to make it open. When I saw what had happened to the door, I was so upset. The insurance adjuster told me my vehicle is a possible total loss. But this damage on my door added $1500 to the cost of repairs as the door now has to be replaced when it did not when the accident happened. I called the manager of the company to discuss the damage that his company had done to my vehicle, his final words to me were to prove it! So here is my proof. If i was you and I was looking to get my car towed, I would run far away from this company as they do not care about you, or your vehicle!

I was towed during Covid for parking over the line in a neighbors spot. The neighbor did not have the right to tow. They towed anyway and asked the HOA later. They charged me twice!!! She said it didn’t go through but made me use Debit! So now I am out $400. I was home at the time and I would have been happy to move my truck, I had put my truck there to unload a huge amount out of my truck and the neighbor had already moved out. The neighbor had been parking over the line with their truck since they moved out. The bottom line! They did not have the right to trick me into charging me twice. The HOA president said that they were not to tow during COVID! And they said that they don’t care. They are crooks! They said they couldn’t help me with getting the double charge removed. Must be nice to hold onto people’s money. All it would have taken was a knock on the door. Simple people!

Wish I could rate lower. This place is a complete scam. They come around to the neighborhoods on a Friday night and tow. Then they either charge you an extra $65 for a gate fee because theyre closed on the weekend or you have to wait till Monday to pick up your vehicle and pay $50/day for storage fees. What a joke. When confronted about this they say, The county sets our prices. Hey, you know what you could do? Stay open on weekends. But that wont line their pockets. Thiefs.

Called to get a Drive tire changed. I have a a spare tire and Said I would be charged a two hour minimum @ &115hr. Plus a hundred dollars if he drives out to me. So that’s nearly four hundred dollars with tax for changing one tire plus I have a spare. Ok buddy...

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. This is a major bait and switch. Called roadside for a broken serpentine belt due to AC compressor locking up. I asked them to bypass the compressor with a shorter belt until we could get it to our mechanic. They said they couldnt but gave me a reasonable quote on towing it in and replacing the compressor. I agreed. They said they could have it out that evening. After towing it, they told me they couldnt get the parts til the next day. I asked how long it would take and they assured me they would have it out by 3:30 or 4:00 the next afternoon. At 3:30 I was told they werent going to finished that day, but would be finished by 9:00am the next morning at the latest. I called for over two hours and couldnt reach anyone. Finally answered and was told they didnt know when it would be finished and that they had to go get parts that werent included the first time. When it was finally done, it took them over an hour to get the invoice to me (still holding up my driver) and the invoice was $850 more than quoted. When I questioned it, they said the office manager would call me back. Over an hour later I called back and she was indignant and flat out called me a liar. I definitely should have read the reviews before I called them.

Extremely unprofessional, my car got towed and I wouldn’t make it back in time to get it before they closed. The woman who I talked to which was very pleasant (only thing going for them) told me after I paid they would leave my car out front after they closed. Needless to say they completely forgot about my car and I have been waiting over an hour for someone to get my car out of the lot...

The worst place possible. I’m a truck driver I needed $300 worth of repair they wanted to charge me 1400. For putting fuel in my reefer tank.You do the math I’m actually going to sue them. Then when I the manager about the charges he threatened to charge for my truck sitting on his lot for the weekends Which doesn’t make any sense my truck arrive on a Friday they were closed the following day.They illegal rack the charge to cover the fact that I didn’t utilize their tow company. super unprofessional teller at me saying it’s not my fault you guys can’t afford this service. If I could give them zero stars I would then I overheard them yelling at another guy trying to overcharge him for an illegal tow even through the sign there was maximum charge posted that they clearly went over illegally.

Brake line broke in the work parking lot (luckily for me).Arranged for a tow service with my insurance co. Got assigned Grimms Automovation.They called and showed up BEFORE the expected arrival schedule. Brandon, the TT driver was very courteous, friendly, and professional and had my vehicle safely on the TT and delivered to the destination in short time.We all have good and bad experiences - for any number of reasons. I am happy to report this was GOOD one.And, thankful to have places like Grimms Automovation, and pleasant people like Brandon, available to assist in the times we are stranded and in need of their services.

Car towed, took 2 hours to recover because I called before business hours. Driver said 20 minutes, ended up being 45 minutes. Dont steal my car, my money, AND my time.

I pay a lot of money to park in covered parking where I live and on multiple occasions I get home and find the lot full with multiple vehicles lacking permit stickers. Multiple occasions I have called this business to tow vehicles away so I can park where I pay to park and they have not showed up even once.

They made a super awful situation much more palatable. Everyone on the staff is extremely friendly, the owner couldnt have been any nicer. Had an issue with some missing items and he was kind enough to reimburse me on the spot instead of telling me to kick rocks. Will call for any towing needs in the future I highly recommend them to anyone who needs a tow.

This company will rip you off with towing charges. They tow our car for no reason, and when we got it back, it make noises at rear end. Stay away as possible to this company.

The worst place ever, very unprofessional they have no compassion I parked in my daughters parking spot to take care of her dog, she was away was there less then an hour and they towed my vehicle for not having a permit then wanna charge $200 to get it back. the deserve a -10star!!!! the staff was extremely rude and disrespectful

Great company.

If your a commercial company beware! There is a lovely lady in the office who works with clients on invoicing. We sent some checks in that never arrived that we did not realize were sent to an old address for the company. The owner calls our company multiple times a day screaming and yelling, using profanity because he was not paid. Now these invoice were not very old, aging no more than 60 days but we sent checks in (see pic below of returned checks). The owner decides to hire a collection company who has an investigator that wants to come out and do an audit of our inventory. He broke so many collection laws, that I have gotten with my attorney on the matter and may sue them. Once the collections company got involved we were able to send the returned checks from the mail to show we paid and show inaccuracies in their billing. Beware, their towing bills are outrageous, over $500.00 just to tow. As a business owner, I know not to treat my clients like that.

They stole a car from my lot and sold it to the junkyard. Shady place , Stay away from this place. Many of their drivers has been arrested for suspended drivers licenses. Stay away from this place.

Predatory towing company. Towed my car from my own lot at 3am for tags that were expired for one day. Had renewed two days prior and stickers were in the mail.

Predatory towing, charged $300 for car parked in a lot not clearly marked as tow away for less than an hour. Customer service is a joke—guy literally laughed and was complete jerk, takes forever to get your car back. Will never go to them for service.

I came here looking for a simple oil change and brake pad change, left with a $600 bill that I had to pay because they had done the work without my consent and would not release my car otherwise. I would stay far, far away from this place.

Very poor workmanship, uneducated tech did lousy job putting my truck back together, missed a dozen fasteners. Management was not any help, in fact were down right nasty.

My husband was going thru Frederick MD on business. He was driving a 35 foot box truck & broke down on the highway on a Fri. evening. Being unfamiliar to the area we resorted to the internet and called on Grimms Automovation. It was a shot in the dark, but the out come was great. Dale was not only very pleasant to work with but was also knowledgeable in his profession and did not believe in taking any short cuts. Last but not least I want to mention the fact that he could have raped a person in this position. This company will rip you off for towing prices. I got into an accident and had to have my car towed and the cops called for these guys to come out and tow it. I was charged $500 for towing in total including a $150 storage fee for 2 days. Funny thing about the storage fee is the guy that said he was towing me said they wouldnt charge that storage fee. I was towed only 3-4 miles too.

PLEASE GO AROUND THIS LOCATION.Very aggressive and unprofessional team. I newer saw such disrespect.I called them asking to inspect my truck. They did.I got my estimate. 5900$ for a 4000$ job. but because my truck was there and towing was expensive i said ok.I paid 2000$ down. today they requested 4100$ not 3900$ balance.I said ok, now they change the rules again and requested CASH. AT 4:30 PM FRIDAY!!!! Im in Chicago. i ask for one h time frame so I can go TO THE BANK and get a cashier EFS check. They said no. and hung up again the phone on me. Now they asked 2000$ cash more instead of down payment and it still was not reversed. Now they left and my laoded truck stay on there and delivery will be late too. I am gonna sue them for harrasment. A pure nightmare. PLEASE KEEP YOURSELF OUT.

Been around frederick for a long time family owed , blue collar ,serving the best . Charlie did a great job . Vervy professional, For heavy towing . And straight forward . Other companys that are new to area were to pricey.

Fast found what was wrong found the parts and had my tractor trailer fixed the next day. They work on everything from a chainsaw to well my tractor and they also have roadside service.

Customer service is the worst in the city and was late to opening the doors for service

I have been taking my 2004 International truck to these guys for service for a few years, their rates are less than the International Stealership across town, and they have always been able to find the problems and fix them quickly.

Predatory towing company. BEWARE. Towed my car; however, the signs on the lot from where I was towed stated that another towing company had towed my car and what that address was. After frantically running around Frederick, I find out that Grimms had actually towed by car. My car was towed within just a matter of minutes and they charged me $265.00 for the towing.
