My tow rep wasJimmy and he was absolutely amazing! I called after hours because I broke my key at the park! He told me 15 minutes and sure enough he was there! Very professional and courteous! Dropped my car off at the dealership with all the right information that the dealership needed! The dealership called me right at 7:31 when they opened because they had all information!! Butch, the tow truck driver was very courteous and took his time loading up my motorcycle, he got me to the dealership on time, so they could fix my issue and get me out on the road again, I hope I dont have to use them again but if I do have to use a tow truck again, I know who I will be calling, and I hope Butch is the driver again.

Absolutely terrible. They called me from a AAA request saying they are on the way and gave me a 1hr eta. They said I had to stay with the vehicle. So after waiting over an hr I call 40 west back and when they look into the status, I can hear the other guy start saying a bunch of excuses as to why my help has been cancelled. The rep gets back on the phone and said AAA cancelled my request...... these people seem to biting off more than they can chew with AAA contracts and then cancelling them for something worth more money while leaving people stranded. USE Mikes autobody and towing! Nathan the driver called to tell me he was on the way and actually showed up as promised and kept me updated.

As usual, the work performed on my car was done efficiently and professionally, and they made me aware of what was needed before proceeding.

Im glad I switched my car care to 40 West. I had been at another service center for about 20 years. I brought my older Honda CR-V to John for its routine maintenance and he was more than willing to go over the records I had kept on the car to make sure that my car was getting everything it needed. He had a great plan and could work within my budget to make sure my car stays running great. I feel that everyone at 40 West is trustworthy and that is the very biggest priority when it comes to someone working on my car.

I tried to schedule service here by completing the form on their web site over the weekend. I never got a call or an email back. So at 4:45 today, Tuesday, I finally called and asked about my request. The man on the phone, who did not give his name, said they were closed and that he only worked there part-time and knew nothing about the web site or scheduling.I requested to speak to someone else, and he said the foreman had gone home for the day. Google gives their closing time as 8, but even if the correct closing time is 5, it was not yet 5 at the time I called. Why was no one knowledgeable there to speak to during business hours?Since 40 West Auto doesnt seem to want my business, I guess I will take it elsewhere. Im pretty shocked that this AAA-rated business would treat a potential customer this way, and I will be reporting my negative experience to AAA.

Was in an accident before Christmas they still havent assessed the damage to my car to give me a quote or recomend junking my car a month later.

These guys saved our weekend. I had a flat tire in the middle of nowhere on a very special birthday weekend. We were about to miss all the planned events. Rodney made sure a tow truck got there quickly, ordered a tire and arranged a rental car when none were to be had in case the tire didn’t show up. I got into my black cocktail dress and jewelry in the back bathroom of the machine shop! They got and installed the tire, wished us well and we were on our way to a great weekend. Can’t say enough about those guys.

Reviews are so important for a merchant so I wanted to make sure I left one. I got a flat and after briefly reading the reviews I chose 40 west because they had the best rating. Not disappointed. Allen pulled up behind me after a 15 minute wait as stated over the phone. So glad it was Allen! I’m inquisitive by nature and he answered every single question I had with a smile. And although the tire wasn’t fixable and we couldn’t (I say we like I did something) put the spare on I completely enjoyed Allen’s company. We called triple A and Allen stayed with us almost until the end, just to make sure we were taken care of. That’s exemplary service and I really hope he is recognized for that. You can’t train someone to wait it out with the customer, that’s just who he is as a person. Thank You 40 West, you made an excellent choice in choosing Allen for your company!!

Today was the second time I have dealt with 40 West (both for towing through AAA), and they are honest, reliable, and a pleasure to deal with. The driver I met with this morning suggested an attempt to jump start my car that was dead in the garage. It started right up so I didnt have to have it towed. Both drivers have been very professional and I even received a phone call from the office to let me know the truck was on its way. I would highly recommend 40 West.

I first came in contact with 40 West as a result of a call to AAA for a dead battery. The gentleman who came out shortly after the call was knowledgeable and friendly. As we were new to Frederick, I asked him for a referral, and he gave me a business card for 40 West. I have been taking both our cars there ever since and cant say enough about how happy I am with all aspects of the business. The mechanics are very capable, and John, the head mechanic, is always available to answer questions. They are very honest and dont recommend unnecessary work. I heartily recommend 40 West!

Broke down on I-270 and 40 West came quickly to tow our car to their garage. They gave us a fair estimate for the work that needed to be done, and when we determined that the repair cost exceeded the value of the car, they helped us find a trade school nearby to take it off our hands. Friendly and helpful staff, highly recommend calling them if you need vehicle help in the Frederick area.

My Daughter hit a curb and flattened her tire at 9:00 p.m. on a busy road in Frederick. We called AAA and were told that a tow truck would be out in an hour. We requested 40 West Auto Care and Towing because we had used them in the past. My wife took my daughter home and I stayed with the car. In 15 minutes 40 West showed up and had the car loaded and we were on our way. The next morning the tire was replaced and ready to pick up by noon. Fast, friendly, competent and affordable service. What more could you want when your daughter is stranded on a cold dark night.

Spoke to Jill, very professional and extremely helpful! Clear communications, all that good customer service stuff. I dont live in Frederick any more, but she helped a family member, and Id definitely recommend!

Driver of one of their trucks re-entered I70 (70 mph zone) right in front of me from the shoulder from a stop. I ended up swerving out of the lane when I realized that we couldnt stop despite being locked up. Fortunately, car in next lane also jacked their brakes and swerved. Missed the truck with a Honda sedan on it by inches at most. Incredibly careless driver, and they would not answer when I called multiple times. I understand mistakes but this was almost fatal. Occurred on 6/6/18 at around 3pm.

Slow service, attitude problems, different price quotes than whats listed on the wall, mongoloid mechanic, they had my vehicle 3x LONGER than originally scheduled over a simple safety inspection WITH an appointment!!! The shop is literally 2 minutes from my house but Im NEVER going back to these hicks again!!! Save some money and frustration, go somewhere more professional

Dreadful customer service! Service manager is the worst...would not discuss issues when car was towed to 40 West & they couldnt figure out why the car stalled out and required towing. Service manager said if I didnt pay the bill he would NOT give me my keys. Refusing to discuss the car certainly is no way to communicate. Maybe if I picketed 40 West Auto (in order to warn other potential customers) they would rethink their customer service.

I CANT SAY ENOUGH TERRIBLE THINGS ABOUT THIS COMPANY AND HAVE ALREADY POSTED THIS STORY ON FACEBOOK. WE HAVE A LOT OF FRIENDS AND FAMILY HERE IN FREDERICK AND I HOPE YOU NOTICE THE LOSS OF BUSINESS.

Left me stranded in freezing temperatures after breaking their truck and telling me they would be back with another one. Called the dispatch and was told that they werent coming back and the dispatcher then proceeded to hang up on me. WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE!

This shop always gives me honest answers, and I feel entirely comfortable putting my car in their hands. Ive had two cars maintained and repaired with them over the course of several years.

Not military/Army/Fort Detrick friendly! Quoted me $99 just to get the truck to my house on post. I walked right out and called Bussards Auto and it was $69. Cheaper to look elsewhere. I will not call 40 West Auto ever again.

I would not recommend this place to anyone, I had my truck towed from Reston Virginia and decided I would let them take care of the repairs, after getting the call that my car is ready they tell me that my car would need a new distributor, I then take it to another mechanic to do a diagnostic test becasue my truck is now showing the check engine light, they tell me that this place used an aftermarket part for my truck and it needs the factory, at this point Im upset and go in person to talk to the supervisor and he tells me that it doesnt matter what someone else saids, he told me to bring it in person to check it out, and that to make things clear at least the truck starts, but at this point the truck is now having the same problems before it broke down on me, Id give i 0 stars if I could, this place is a total waste of time
