Jason was so helpful today. He got us in last minute before a road trip and got our car fixed up. Jeremy was the mechanic and he was very thorough and explained everything to us. They stayed after close to make sure we were taken care of. They gained a loyal customer today! So thankful

I quickly found out what problems I was having with my car and was happy to hear that it was only my tires that was causing my car to sound loud while driving although I didnt have any work done today they didnt charge me for their time in looking at my vehicle. So when you get a bad review is this how you treat them, looks like something you would do, one more thing g that truck is 22 years old and no engine problems till car-x changed the oil that engine did not even have an oil leak, so whos at fault. Learn how to spell, yes I did owe you 40 dollars but I had a short pay check and I told your manager that I would pay next check well that wont happen

I have been going to Car-X for about 10 years now since Ive been living in Evansville and they by far are one of the best people to go to when you are trying to get your car fixed.I think the experience differs a little bit during covid-19 where money is tight for everybody and they were willing to actually let me order my parts online and they are going to do the installation of those parts so I was able to save about $1,200. I couldnt be more than happy with their service and the way they treat me is as a human being.

My husband and I always have a great experience with the CarX in Evansville, IN. The staff are professional, kind, and helpful in determining what needs to be repaired, as well as how to plan out the vehicles maintenance work so that each of our visits are affordable. It is really nice to know I can go to this particular CarX and feel listened to, be able to rely on the staffs expertise, and leave without feeling as if they tried to sell me something I didnt need.

Nobody was wearing a mask when I went in today. I have had work done there plenty of times in the past and the service was great, but they are not looking out for the health of their customers.Edit: In their reply to this review they are trying to play this off as being a summer heat issue, but my experience happened just recently in November.

The battery in my truck died and I was out of town. It was nearing closing time on a Thursday evening and I needed my truck the next morning. I searched Google for a repair shop near me and Car-X had a lot of good reviews. I called and asked if I got my truck towed there they would help me. It wasn’t easy for them to get me in on such a time crunch, but they did. Nate talked me through what was probably wrong over the phone, and then the owner Frank kept me occupied with good conversation while the guys changed my battery. I paid a reasonable price and the personnel was amazing.

Wow... These people really care about their customers! My car sunroof drain was clogged and water was leaking inside my car underneath the passenger side floorboard 😒 also had a check engine light on. He listened as I told him my van’s symptoms and my dilemma of being an hour away from home with no way of getting back. Frank loaned me one of their work vehicles free of charge so I could drive my kids home! He then arranged for my van to be seen first thing Saturday morning (this was on Memorial Day Weekend 2018). They opened at 7am and the mechanic called me at 7:30am to tell me what the issue was. I needed my starter replaced. By 9:30am the job was finished and we were able to drive our van again less than 24 after it broke down.The people at Car-X we’re an absolute Godsend. I’ve never taken a vehicle to a better repair shop!When the tow truck came to get my van on Friday, I told the driver about what they were doing for me and he said,“I had heard that their mechanics were great, now I know how great of people they really are!”

They do good work but had my car for over 2 months because of the people they were going through to help fix my computer system. They never gave my a car to drive until the last 3 days before my car got fixed. And still wanted me to pay full price and the shipping costs of my computer system.

I have been doing business with Frank and his staff for almost 15 years. They have always done a great job and are not your typical shop that will try and sell you repairs that are not needed. Very easy to work with and trustworthy!

A few years back, Frank and his team replaced a radiator in a 1989 Jeep Cherokee that I had. Despite it having numerous issues, they got it road ready and were very honest with the work that needed to be done. They were more than fair with the price and promptness of the repairs and service. I would recommend them to anyone. While a lot of shops in the auto repair industry have earned a bad reputation, Car X is not one of them.. They truly rise above the rest of the industry!

I spoke with Frank regarding a few issues on my vehicle and another mechanic had told me I needed these things fixed and quite a bit of money, Frank listened and gave honest help and helped me from getting ripped off. Thanks car-x and Frank!!

Miracle worker Frank and his amazing team worked hard to get us back on the road as soon as possible and at a 1/3 of the price we thought it would be! Our suburban broke down on the freeway far from home and the tow truck took us to Car X. We called before they opened the next morning and they had already started working on it. They were very friendly and went out of their way to help us. We would HIGHLY recommend them!

Finally found a car repair shop I trust!

I had Car X diagnose my 2008 Nissan Altima. They caught some things that another shop in town missed, including a serpentine belt the other shop said needed to be fixed but didnt. Amanda got me in very quickly. She gave great customer service, answering all of my questions and listening to me respectfully, even though I am a young adult who doesnt know much about cars. I told her I didnt want any service done without my consent and she assured me she had no intention of doing anything to the vehicle without first showing me the price and an explanation of why I should have it done. I had an air filter change, an oil change, and a tire rotation. They offer the tire rotation free when you get your oil changed! One thing I didnt like was the smell of smoke in my car after I got it back, but you cant really help if a mechanic chooses to smoke cigarettes. The rest of my car was clean and they made sure to put down a paper mat before they got in the drivers seat to test drive it. Another thing I didnt like was my radio had been changed. I dont know why it was. It wasnt damaged in any way. Just not the way I left it. Irritating, but not a big deal. Overall, I would recommend to friends and family.

I will always bring our vehicles here first for basics, like oil changes, all the way through to things like check engine lights. They are friendly, honest, and professional. The staff goes above and beyond to help answer questions, or fit you in on a busy day. I will continue to recommend them to everyone who is looking for reliable and honest mechanics.

The heater quit working in our Jeep. I made an appointment for Saturday and dropped it off on Friday afternoon. Not only were they able to diagnose the problem on Friday before they closed, they had it repaired by Saturday afternoon. And...the bill was less than the estimate. Ive been coming here for years and they have always been friendly and reasonably priced.

I am very displeased with Car-X. We brought our Vibe into Car-X to have the brakes replaced. After the team looked at our car, they stated that there was nothing wrong with our brakes but we needed to have the bearings replaced in our tires. This was much more expensive than getting the brakes repaired. However we trusted them, and had them complete the work. We were told the car would be ready to go at 5pm. Shortly before 5pm we received a call from Car-X stating that when they were removing the tire, the technician broke the screw off of the axle, so now we would need to purchase a new axle. When pressing them to explain why we would be responsible for the axle if they broke it, they blamed it on the prior technician, that he tightened the screw to much, so it was not their fault. However, the agreed to give us a $30 discount on the part. We told them to go ahead and do the work. They gave us a loaner car, that smelled like someone had died in it, and expected us to transport our children in it. When I asked them if they had been in the car lately, the agreed that it needed a good scrubbing. However, they did redeem themselves a bit, and gave us another car to drive that was very clean. The next day we called to check on the car, and we were told that when they removed the axle, they cracked the differential. Again, they agreed that it was completely their fault. So this time, they agreed to have the differential repaired at no cost to us. At the end of the day, we spent $1039.00 for all of these repairs. When driving the car away, we heard the EXACT SAME NOISES. So we called and they had us bring the car back. Now they are telling us that we need new brakes, but they could do that for us, without charging us labor. REMEMBER...ORIGINAL COMPLAINT WAS WE NEEDED NEW BRAKES, THEN THEY TOLD US OUR BRAKES WERE FINE, BUT HAD A MUCH LARGER PROBLEM. They looked at the car, and suddenly discovered that not only do we need brakes, but we also need to replace the SAME EXACT PART THAT THEY JUST FIXED ON THE OTHER SIDE!!!!! But they didnt notice that before. But since they did not notice the brake problem at first, they are going to go ahead and clean the brakes for us for free. I have filed a Better Business Bureau Complaint, and I have also entered a claim with my Insurance company. I caution EVERYONE who uses this place to be careful, that they are not CREATING problems on your car. They are not honest, and they are not trustworthy. This saddens me even more because the owner seemed to be an upstanding individual. I hope that he will stand by his word, and his character and do what is right.*******************RESPONSE TO OWNERS RESPONSE*******************YES, ALL REPAIRS WERE APPROVED, BECAUSE WE WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO DRIVE THE CAR AWAY AFTER THEY BROKE THE PARTS. WE WERE TOLD THAT WHEN BRANDON REMOVED THE HUB, HE STRIPPED THE SCREW, AND BECAUSE IT WAS THEIR FAULT THEY GAVE US A $30 DISCOUNT ON THE AXLE, THAT HAD TO BE REPLACED BECAUSE THERE WAS NO OTHER WAY TO DRIVE THE CAR AWAY. WE WOULD HAVE HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED. CARX KEPT SAYING THAT THE CAR HAD A LOT OF CORROSION AND WHERE DID WE LIVE BEFORE LIVING IN INDIANA. WE CAN POST A PICTURE OF THE BOTTOM OF OUR CAR, IT IS NOT CORRODED. AND WE MOVED FROM KENTUCKY PRIOR TO LIVING IN INDIANA. YES, THE CAR DOES HAVE A LOT OF MILES ON IT, WE TRAVEL. BUT IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM PROPERLY REPAIRING AN OLDER CAR, YOU SHOULD LET THE CONSUMER KNOW THIS AHEAD OF TIME. WE WERE TOLD THAT BRANDON CRACKED THE TRANSFER CASE AXLE HOUSING. WE EVEN SPOKE TO BRANDON, WHO ADMITTED THAT HE DID IN FACT CRACK THE HOUSING WHEN REMOVING THE AXLE. THIS WAS NOT OBSERVED. TWO PEOPLE ADMITTED THAT THEY DID IT. SO THEY DID NOT CHARGE US FOR THE WELDING OF THE CRACK. AGAIN, THEY DID NOT REPLACE THE PART, THEY JUST WELDED THE CRACK!!!!!! THE AXLE WAS NOT SEIZED!!!!!!!!! THAT WAS NEVER MENTIONED, AND IT WORKED PERFECTLY FINE BEFORE THEY WORKED ON THE CAR. THEY OPENLY ADMITTED TO CRACKING THE PART, NOW THEY ARE SPINNING THE STORY. THIS SHOWS THEIR CHARACTER. WE HAVE FILED WITH THE BBB. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE!

My family of 7 were traveling cross-country when my alternator began to flake out. We limped into Evansville on the eve of Good Friday. I began to search for a repair shop and found CarX was open on Sat at 7am Easter weekend! I called and Fred answered with such a friendly tone, and he got our Odyssey in. They also picked up/dropped me off at our hotel while the car was being repaired. They had us back on the road in 2 hours, and home for Easter! I am so thankful for the care and expertise of the CarX Evansville crew. I have rarely experienced this level of professionalism. Thank you CarX!
