My plan was to drive my 64.5 Mustang from Seattle to San Diego and then onto Texas for a car rally. I made it across the California border and started leaking transmission fluid. We trailered our car to San Diego.While on the road, I started reaching out to San Diego Mustang groups on Facebook to see who they recommended for transmission work. Soon everyone was insisting on Trans Masters.Curtis and his team have been amazing. I feel so lucky that they took on my project and have helped us get back on the road. Curtis would call me with updates when he said he would and would explain what they were going to do and how much it would cost. He never threw up hands and sent me away, instead he said drive it a few days and come back and see us.I wish Trans Masters would open a shop in Seattle.They are awesome and I can not recommend them enough.

Really nice and professional company. I was referred to them by Johnny at woods off-road. Had to do a complete rebuild of RAM 2500 transmission and it works like new, and on top of it 24 months warranty.

Excellent and fast service. They rebuilt my C4 transmission, and I had it back in just over a week. I installed it with no issues, and my 1962 Ford Falcon is back on the road.

I have been bringing my cars to Rick and his amazing crew for many years. I will only trust my prize 37 Ford Woodie to Trans Masters because they always come through with honesty as integrity. Their work is second to none. I have very high expectations and they deliver every time. It’s even fun to visit the shop and see the really cool cars that they attract. I want to first make note that Curtis is a great guy. To be honest, my expectations for good customer service at car shops are fairly low. Curtis proved me wrong here. Curtiss friendliness, approachability, and transparency should be at the top of your list of things to consider when deciding which shop to take your car. My 2011 Saab 9-3 was running like it never had a misfiring issue after the talented guys at Trans Masters replaced an ignition coil and a spark plug within six hours of dropping my Saab off on a Monday morning. It is in your, and your cars, best interest to make an appointment with Trans Master for your cars next service/issue.

1st time I called for a quote, Rick was so attentive and patient and actually took so much time to speak with me. He took the time to explain everything and answer all my questions. He made me feel comfortable in trusting them and when I actually took my vehicle in, Curtis was great in getting our vehicles done right away. These guys are so personable. Its hard to find a trustworthy auto mechanic these days and I am looking forward to working with them in the future!

Went to my boyfriends recommendation, Curtis, to take a look at my car. Gave him a brief description of what was going on and he offered a free evaluation. Within a few hours he gave me a call to discuss my car and options with how to go forward. It took about 3 days to get my car back but Curtis was very helpful every step of the way. He called with updates everyday and gave me a step-by-step of what they were going to do. Very happy with customer service and overall business. Definitely knowledgeable about what they’re doing and I would 100% go back again in the future.

My 1993 Chevy K2500 p/u truck air conditioner system was completely rebuilt by TransMasters last December 2019. For the first 6 months months of 2020, the A/C worked great. From July through early October, my truck was parked and not operated because I was out of town. Upon my October return, the A/C was no longer producing cold air. After calling TransMasters, they worked me in early the next day after my call to them explaining the situation. I waited while they tested the complete A/C system and found a coolant leak due to a faulty “O” ring seal. The seal was replaced, the system was evacuated and recharged with new coolant and now, the A/C has been working fine ever since. TransMasters made the diagnosis, repair including a full load of new coolant plus all labor at no charge to me because it was covered under their 12 month/12,000 mile parts and labor warranty.We were not sure why the “O” failed, but TransMasters stood behind their warranty 100%.

I have a 1965 Corvette, and its my baby - I am very particular about letting someone work on it. My car needed some clutch work and a good friend recommended TransMaster in Encinitas. I took the car there and met with them. I had them replace my original 50 year old transmission with a new modern Tremec 5-speed. They did a great job and I love the way the car drives now. While the car was there, they noticed that it didnt run as well as it should. I took the car back in and they tuned it up. The car now drives like a NEW CAR. I cannot believe the difference in my Corvette. I had spent lots of money at previous shops and none of those shops made my car run this well. TransMasters will get all my future business!

I live in South San Francisco and was on a Goodguys tour to Delmar, (North County San Diego) CA. My 40 Ford street rod overheated and ruined the brass/copper radiator that came with the car. I took the car to Trans Masters Transmissions on the recommendation of my brother in law who lives in the area. I left the car with them for two weeks and they replaced the radiator with a state of the art aluminum one, and installed two high output electric fans. The car now runs beautifully and never gets to over 190 degrees pulling a grade in bumper to bumper traffic and runs normally at 185 degrees. I am very happy with their work, they were very professional and had to fabricate many aluminum and tig welded parts. Even though they ran over the shop hours in their estimate, they stayed very close to their original price quote. They were also very honest. All my personal property I left behind in the car was all there including my tools. These young guys work on current model cars but also work on exotics, street rods and classics. Theirs is a very high level of craftsmanship and attention to detail. Special thanks to Rick Frye, the owner and Philip, the service manager. I would highly recommend this business to anyone.

Trans master rebuilt my Jeep transfer case 4000 miles ago. It is making sounds which I am concerned could be a redo of the past issues. The guys at Trans Master think it’s fine. I hope so. I have documented the issue so I hope they are right.All of their previous work has been good.

I have brought my vehicles to TransMasters for over twelve years now. Immediately evident is their passion for cars (just look around the lot!!). For me, theyve replaced two catalytic converters, conducted two complete transmission rebuilds (separate vehicles), numerous diagnoses and as of late a full fluid change. Appreciable to be is their integrity in understanding and fixing what ails and my knowing that when Im back on the road, TransMasters stand behind their craft--I am safe. Granted, they were much more accessible to me (one mile away) when they were in Encinitas, but Im happy to make the trek East for the continued service and car camaraderie.

After moving I was looking for a trust worthy fair local shop to help me keep my truck rolling and TransMasters has done more than that. The entire staff over there is helpful and always willing to answer any questions. They will keep an eye out for things on your car that youll simply forget to check. Finding a consistently good/non-upselling shop is so much work, but it seems like this is one of them.

The TransMasters Team does excellent work. I have taken several of my vehicles to them and they always provide intelligent and cost effective services. They stand behind their warranty and the true testament to the quality of their workmanship is that people take their collector cars (babies) to them for service. I would highly recommend comparing them to any shop or dealer services.

This business is nothing but customer service driven with care and concern to deliver a good experience. My visit was fairly simple and should have been 10-20 minutes but due to computer glitch not their doing it turned into 1 1/2 hours. They were constantly offering me water / lounge seating etc. apologized over many times for the delay. I would absolutely return for their services. This firm is very resourceful. Not sure of the legitimacy of the two prior 1-star posts as I have been working with these guys for years and they are great. replaced of few transmissions for me and always available for follow up visits. Bottom line is: Transmasters is great. I have been a customer of Ricks for a long time, probably 20 years. I have taken many different makes and models of vehicles to him (and Transmasters) with varying issues beyond just transmissions. Each time my issues were dealt with fairly and professionally. I trust him and his team with my 68 California Special Mustang and they have taken very good care of it. I highly recommend Transmasters for any vehicle repair issue. They are all very good people who sincerely care about your driving safety.

Would have been so easy to get a five star review from me. All I wanted was a simple service check done to my car. Simple questions on the phone were met with sarcasm and indifference though.

It was a great experience having Transmaster Transmissions work in my truck transmission they fix the problem i was having for a few weeks just before I was about to take a trip vacations with my two doughters so a night before our vacation got my truck back praying that my trip is going to be safe and no worries of haveing any more issues dealling with my truck problem and thanks God with the experts mecanics of transmaster transmission it makes my vacations trip pleasant and stress-less and the most important that makes me feel safe in the road having my truck run so smoothly
