I have been living on this apartment for more than 2 years. They do not comes to service most of the times on maintenance. They were really nice before renting the apartment. After I have moved to apartment, they were not responding the call and always busy on the line. They have lots of issue with the mice indoor and outdoor. I have also seen that there apartments are really old that leads coming in the waters and some of the apartments parts due to that reason I decide to move out. It is not safe for kids. Please stay away from this apartment. When I have moved out apartment, they charged me for wear and tear and lots of expenses that they have charged almost one month rent. They expect to be brand new appliances and all the things brand new. They are trying get money out of it. I wanted to give zero stars but I did not have any options to give zero stars.

I like to thank Laurrel, who came in this morning and did awesome maintained service. He did an excellent job on the repair work for my windows, dishwasher and closet door. The only pleasant thing about living here was the Maintenance guys. You will have a mice problem no matter what you do. My clothes constantly smelled of smoke (I don’t smoke). When I told management they told me to put dryer sheets in my vents…walls are paper thin in living room area. You can’t freely use the pool you have to apply to get a pool pass. They’ll find a way to keep your security deposit. Vents aren’t cleaned probably ever. (Unless you ask which again maintenance is wonderful and came same day) Overall spend the couple extra hundred dollars in rent elsewhere i wish I did.

Howards Crossing honestly looked great. Last year, around October I was looking to move from FL to MD around the Columbia and because I dont have Columbia money, I found Howards Crossing in Ellicott City and signed a lease sight unseen. When I arrived, I found my apartment clean, spacious well taken care of. I moved in and honestly really enjoyed living there up until I had to have any interaction with management. So far, Ive had to deal with extremely noisy upstairs neighbors who frequently have fights loud and violent enough that the police have been called multiple times. This, of course, isnt directly related to management, but their callous and aloof response of just keep calling the police whenever it happens is frustrating considering I have absolutely no power to resolve the situation. Most recently, however, I have been dealing with a much more frustrating problem: Bats. Yes, bats have been entering my apartment at night. Given how wild and unusual that was, when the first one came in on May 27th of this year, I simply sent an e-mail with pictures for proof to management (not expecting a reply, of course) and was hopeful that it was simply a one-off issue.Well, its happened two more times since then. Ive had a bat fly in while I was making dinner at 8pm and, more recently, I had a bat wake me up at 4am flying around my room.Perhaps if youre able to fix these issues yourself without relying on maintenance or happen to be particularly fond of bats, Howards Crossing is the place for you, but it definitely isnt the place for me.

If I could give this place a 0 rating, I would do it in a heartbeat. However, Google Review requires at least 1 star to write a review. Living here has been a nightmare. Our building had a roast infestation that never improved in the 6 or so months since it started, despite pest control treating our unit every week for a period of time. After reaching out to the property manager, Richard Vetter, he informed me that he would inquire about moving us to another unit and what precautionary steps we needed to take to ensure that the roaches didnt travel with us to the new unit. After reaching out to him multiple times afterwards to get an update, he never got back to us. From October until the end of our lease, which was in the spring, we never heard a word. It still baffles me to this day how someone could blatantly ignore a tenants emails on updates regarding the move-out process. The pictures alone show the horrible living conditions we were in. As time went on, we literally had to watch where we stepped because there were roaches crawling all over the bathroom, kitchen, bedroom, and living areas. Not only were they on the counters and floor, they were also crawling on the walls. One morning my husband woke up to a roach in our bed. Absolutely disgusting. In addition to the roach problem, we had a fridge that we had to put in a service request at least 10 times during the time that we were there. Please, save yourself the headache. Look elsewhere. This is a community where they clearly dont care about the living conditions of their tenants.

I tool this images at 8.40pm but it was not cleaned at all. this is not the 1st time that I called last time when it was icy I did call and inform. it is not our duty but still I did as I was scared walking out and get to my car. management really needs to work on people safety.

Ive lived here for 2 years now and overall the experience has been pretty good. There are pros and cons to living anywhere, and most of the negatives Ive been able to work around.Cons:1. Sometimes neighbors can be loud, or you can smell pot/cigarettes/strong cooking odors in the stairwell or from your balcony. Normally if your doors and windows are closed this isnt too annoying, and kind of just comes with apartment living.2. We have had a few small issues with pests getting in. There have been occasional bugs that get in through the balcony door or around the window frames, but weve never had ants or roaches. We did have a mouse last winter, and we couldnt call maintenance because their solution is poison and we have a cat. We put out a couple humane traps but my cat wound up catching it. We havent seen any evidence of mice since.3. For most minor issues, youll be better off fixing it yourself instead of calling maintenance. They are slow to fix anything that isnt an emergency, and will try to fix it when youre out at work. If they call you to come fix it while youre out then theyll just cancel the ticket. When small things break we just handle it ourselves, but they have always been really prompt for urgent problems(once a fuse went and our fridge wasnt working, emergency maintenance was here within 20 minutes). If youre living here in the winter, I recommend getting a snow shovel and salt to keep on your balcony because they arent always prompt about clearing the sidewalks and front steps.4. Sales people will come door-to-door claiming to represent BGE all the time. They are trying to get you to sign up with a service where they bill your for estimated utilities instead of you paying BGE directly. A little googling will show you this is a scam, and if you sign up its nearly impossible to cancel. The controlled access doors dont help because theyll wait for someone to get home and let them in the stairwell, and they ignore the no soliciting signs. I wish management would crack down on this, because some of the sales people are aggressive. I told one that we arent interested and not to send anyone here in a pandemic anymore and she started to scream at me about disrespecting her. Even after closing and locking my front door I was scared to have that person in my building.5. This is really my biggest complaint, we dont have access to our fuse box. It is behind a locked door and the office will not give you a key. Its ridiculous to need to call emergency maintenance to flip a switch on a fuse box, and incredibly aggravating to have someone speak down to you and say that its your fault for having too many things plugged in. We had a toaster and a tea kettle plugged in in the kitchen and that was apparently enough to blow the fuse.Pros:1. You really cant beat the location. This spot has been ideal for commuting.2. There are all kinds of people here (college kids, single adults, big families) but the community overall has a family atmosphere. I feel safe walking alone in the community, even in the evenings.3. Im our experience, utilities have been very affordable.4. About 2 months before our first lease was up, we were contacted to renew our lease and lock in the same rate for another 12 months. This was fantastic for us because we had planned on staying another year anyway.5. There is ALWAYS plenty of parking available. Places arent assigned, but I can always get a spot directly in front of my building.6. Noisy neighbors is a very rare issue from my experience. Ill occasionally hear laughing or a radio, but never loud or sustained enough to be irritating.

We lived at Howard Crossings for just over four years and it was a nightmare from the day we moved in. When we toured we saw the model apartment and it had plush carpet. Asked if we would have the same carpet. “Yes, this is exactly what your apartment will look like”. I made a huge deal about the plush carpet and how excited I was for it and the LC was equally excited for me. Go back, sign the lease and we got to see our actual apartment. There was a burn mark on the counter top that the LC said was unacceptable and would be taken care of, the door on the patio was completely chipping away, there were random water stains in the bedroom, and cracked tiles in the bathroom. I asked for all of these items to be fixed prior to move in. None of these things were repaired....AND NO PLUSH CARPET. We got a low end carpet that was steam cleaned instead of replaced. I also was excited to see the balcony with a clean door, but it was the same chipped door we saw when we toured. Our toilet constantly ran for the first three months we lived here. Maintenance came multiple times but did nothing. We ended up buying the part ourselves to fix the toilet...so much for the convenience of renting. Five months later, wake up to go to work and the wheels from our car were gone. Car up on cinderblocks and cost two days out of work so we could get replacement tires. Management (Jeannie) does nothing to help and only tells us “people suck”. We warn our new neighbors about it. A month after moving in they have their wheels stolen and come out with their car on cinderblocks. So many feral cats and turkey vultures in the neighborhood that dig through the garbage, but Jeannie will send threatening letters to tenants that they will fine us for the garbage even though the animals are the ones spreading the trash everywhere. Mice run rampant around here but all maintenance will do is lay poison down that is harmful to your pets and call the issue fixed. The issue is an infestation in the building that needs to be addressed. We catch mice on a weekly basis and see them daily. Our apartment constantly smells like pot so we can’t even open the windows. After winter and the grass is growing, it is difficult to walk the dogs because it is taller than they were (big dogs that are over two feet tall) but it still took them weeks to cut the grass when spring time hit. NO ONE picks up after their animals and ground floor residents tie their dogs outside to go to the bathroom unattended. There have been numerous occasions where our dogs have stepped in other dogs waste and tracked it through our apartment. We lived along the little stream and during the 2nd flood in 2018 a portion of the fence was taken out. Caution tape was up for a year until the elements tore it down. Management has done nothing to remedy the area and the fence is still down and wall is decaying(this is now 2021). We called maintenance for a clogged sink. A maintenance guy came, looked at it, told us it would take too long and left and didn’t come back. I called the office the next day and they asked me if the ticket was completed? I highly recommend you follow the Howard County Police Department on Facebook. Town and country blvd is constantly showing up as a place where crime has occurred. Peoples tires are constantly getting stolen, someone was robbed at 9pm at gunpoint near our apartment, and another man killed and hung a dog on a tree nearby. Jeannie sends emails that are demeaning and makes you feel like a child. When I respond to the emails I never get a response. Packages are stolen, so if you move here do not have packages sent to your home. Our neighbor just had her car broken into and had belongings stolen. The kids here are not supervised. On one Fourth of July, a few kids were lighting off fireworks in the parking space next to my car, causing dents and burns on my passenger door.Pro: no dog weight limit.Cons: poop is everywhere. Trash is everywhere. Random rotten food is in the common areas. Mice are everywhere.

Lived here for a few years. Reasonable rates for Ellicott City. I will say that management sent us a letter taking us to court for “unpaid rent”, when in fact we had overpaid by a few dollars...when we went to office they admitted it, but no apology. When we gave notice to move out they kept marking our account as month to month lease, even though we had given notice to vacate. Maintenance is quick to come, but their fixes were at times sub par. Also took them months to fix the tennis court. Lastly they closed the gym for what they said would be a week, but ended up keeping it closed for months for renovations.

A terrible place to live. The management is unprofessional. We had a problem with mice. We saw a mouse walks in to the unit twice, and found mouse droppings on the kitchen countertops every morning and carpet in the living room. After I installed a mouse repeller, I havent seen it so far. But I have been very stressed out while living here for a year; even during the night, I could not sleep well since then. Whenever I hear some noises, I just get freaked out and so stressed. The staffs pretend they try to fix it, but actually I dont see that they care/fix problem. Its surprising to see there are couple other reviews mentioning about the same problems too, but they still dont do anything about it. wow.... I am just disgusted and cant wait to move out when the lease is over in a month. The price is not that cheap neither. I regret that I chose this place to live a year ago. Each time I put out a request they are there that same day. I noticed some comments say that they take a while, but I always email my requests in on the site and will follow up if i dont hear back so I am not sure if that makes a difference. I am not happy with this complex at all Ive been living there for a year (unfortunately) you know with completely outdated appliances that always seem to have issues and they cant even replace it because theyre so cheap. When I was able to renew they stated they are going to include giving me some money back by a certain date so I made sure I turned in my paperwork before that specific date and they decided to upload the document on their end a week after so that they didnt have to give me that extra money. Worst management ever also having to bring in many different groceries and items for myself and my neighbors there was a chain to help leave the door open to make it easier for all of us and now the apartment complex took it away making it way more difficult having to make multiple trips when it could just be one now that the door just stays close there are so many weird smells it smells like things are burning inside it smells like things are getting laminated and I just dont want to live here anymore I regret even renewing my lease with them just very inconsiderate staff members. I would double check before you guys would sign a lease with them. I NEED YO GET OUT OF THEY CALLED MY PHONE AT 7:40 AM when the office does not open until not that jus interrupted my sleep and now Im unable to go back to sleep because of it and I have a long day ahead. I wish I could give this place less than one star to be honest. Do not even think about moving into this place, Im currently in the last few months of my year lease and it is by far the worst place Ive ever lived in my entire life.First of all, the staff are some of the rudest people Ive ever encountered so dont even think about calling them or talking to them for any reason because theyll just give you an attitude.Im in a freshly renovated unit and honestly, the entire thing is basically made of paper due to how poor quality everything is. The walls are extremely thin and when we first moved in all we heard everyday was a man downstairs screaming about killing everyone in sight and they did nothing about that.As our lease has progressed its only gotten worse and Im about ready to end my lease early and get so far away from this awful place. There are also destructive children everywhere who throw actual rocks and trash around near the parking area and the entire grounds is littered with trash.Theyre very unprofessional about in scheduling maintenance and inspections, they scheduled an inspection for the apartments and instead of a proper 24 hour notice when theyll be entering they gave a span of 10 days that they may or may not enter your apartment. The notice said if you have a dog or cat youre expected to crate it everyday until they maybe show up and inspect your apartment. If anyone on here knows, you cant crate a cat, especially not for 10 days in a row all day while youre at work.Honestly, go elsewhere. The little bit of money that you save by renting this instead of other places in the area isnt worth it at all.

Let me start off by saying, if you are reading this review then you have already put too much thought into this apartment complex. This is by far the worst place I have lived and I would not recommend it to anyone. This is the first time ive ever felt strongly enough about a place to write a review but I would like to warn others so they dont make the same mistake I did.The leasing office and staff are never any help and management isnt much better. Ive been overcharged twice now and good luck finding anyone who actually knows what they are billing you for. Its almost comical. I will receive multiple notices, each a different amount, there is no consistency in the charges and no reasons or explanations given for the charges. Ive also been charged random late fees that should not apply as the payments were clearly on time. This complex is unorganized, unprofessional and will rip you off without a second thought. Ive also had a number of maintenance issues as well. The apartments themselves are not horrible but definitely not worth the price. The only pro about living here is that the area is nice but if I was you I would enjoy the area from a different apartment complex. If you sign a lease here, you will most likely regret it.

The leasing office staff are rude and dont know what theyre doing. The appliances are very outdated. The floorboards and walls are VERY thin, you can hear everything from your apartment; the people walking above you or on the stairs, conversations your neighbors are having, and smells from different apartments through your vents. The kids in our neighborhood are almost never supervised. They will play in the parking lot and leave their bikes in parking spots (making it hard to park), play in peoples truck beds and throw things at your car. The trash is always full. They are charging us $400+ extra for month to month, (w/o notifying us) even though we want to leave when our lease ends. They dont care about their tenants or what they want, only about making more money.

I recently moved into this complex in September and i was starting to think that i made a good choice to move here but then soon found out i was wrong. first of all and most definitely the most off-putting is that the apartments are MICE INFESTED, even though we pay every month for pest control. also when I had requested an exterminator the representative i spoke to said it would be 2 weeks until someone could come to the apartment which was not ideal but what else was I supposed to do? But when the date for exterminator to come came around he did not show up so i had to end up calling again to have someone come and when he did come he came into the apartment without his bag and i went into my room while he was doing whatever he was supposedly doing and 2 minutes later he called me in the kitchen and said that he put traps and poison down but i have yet to see any other trap except the ones that i put down myself. maybe he might have put them somewhere behind the washing machine or something but i feel like i would have heard some type of noise if were to move an appliance like the fridge or the washer and dryer. also there have been many maintenance issues in the apartment (mailbox getting broken, sink not draining, on of the rods that you hang clothes on fell right out the wall when i tried to put my clothes on it, circuit breaks in the kitchen all the time, etc.) I know this place is priced relatively lower than some other places in the area but i can see why. Id gladly pay a couple hundred dollars more to live somewhere where I dont have to worry about a MICE INFESTATION and CONSTANT MAINTENANCE CONCERNS.my lease ends in May and i highly doubt i will be renewing this lease, already looking for new places.I like the gym and the option to pay rent online is a nice convenience but i cannot deal with any place that has any type of infestation especially for 1500+ a month.

Instead of taking necessary steps in identifying the leakage, Leasing manager went to the extent of suggesting that I should use room freshener...really. ‪After 5-10‬ mins of argument and me insisting they finally agreed to send a maintenance personal, who showed up after 2hrs, went around my apartment, and say he cant smell anything...ofcourse he wont (no one was smoking in next apartment) and did not make any efforts to find leakages, left saying call us when someone is actually smoking, I see maintenance ticket was closed. I will be chasing this till the end, but in meanwhile I did not want someone else to make a wrong choice.

Lived here almost a year the office staff is very helpful, Maintenance is pretty fast. The community is pretty quiet. Parking is always available even for our 3 vehicles. The only issues I’ve had with the overall appeal of the apartments is that the walls are semi gloss not satan or eggshell so you can see the many improfections and ruff patches that weren’t sanded completely flat. The paint also is chipping on most of the molding and shelving. Although some of these details bug me cause of my construction/maintenance background they do a great job. Especially love the double entry way doors great for packages. They always clean the grounds and the office has something for the community every month. Couldn’t be more pleased So Far.

My boyfriend and I have been living here 4 months and so far I love it! Its a peaceful neighborhood, mostly families with kids, and there are always groups of people outside socializing and kids playing in the lawns. Our apartment is on the 1st floor and I feel very safe there, and we have a small potted garden on the back porch. Everyone at the leasing office has been wonderful and helpful, and when I lost my house keys during a run my first week there, they replaced it within hours!I dont know why this place has bad reviews, because I love living here and highly recommend it. Its peaceful and a beautiful property, and the price is great for what youre getting. Oh, and the pool and gym are very nice too!

I am only giving one star because I HAVE to. I waited several months to make an unbiased review and now here it is: This place is pure trash. We moved here because this place is close to family and the rent was more affordable than most in the area. Well, you get what you pay for. Since the new property management co. has taken over, its been a damn mess. Change in staff and procedures. Most of the time, the phone just rings and rings and I have to call several times before getting someone. Maintenance is a joke- I have called so many times about nails in my carpet from them throwing down the carpet incorrectly. The closer you look @ the units, the more you can see how little effort and work was put into the build and structure of them. Hit or miss with the staff as many of the old staff left when the new company took over. The manager or whoever she is, Valerie, is rude as hell and doesnt possess bare minimum customer service qualifications. I told her that my 5 year old knows how to talk to people better than her and I meant it. As if over 60 crappy reviews isnt enough to stay away from this place- just stay away! and save yourself. I am only leaving this review honestly because you all kept sending that automated email requesting I tell you what I think and to management: A reply to my comment isnt necessary, theres no conversation to be had and Im not calling yall to talk about how trashy this company or the apartments are. Thanks

While Howard Crossings offers a cheaper alternative for rent in the Howard County area, it comes at a cost. Sacrificing basic needs, such as neglecting multiple gas leaks and wild cat populations to ignoring the countless drag races that occur down their main street, this leasing office only cares about money and signing individuals up for leases that they will soon regret. Run, do not walk, from this apartment complex!

Living here has absolutely been the worst living situation I have ever found myself in. When I signed me lease I inquired as to why there were so many negative reviews online and the leasing agent said that there have been a couple unhappy residents who spend their time writing bad reviews. Its my own fault for being so naive and believing that story. The leasing office is very helpful and kind until you sign your lease then they could care less about any complaints you might have. The apartments are dirty, the things are constantly breaking. You will hear everything your neighbors say and do because the walls are so thin. I can even hear mine talking. The floors creak more than I thought ever possible so I am constantly woken up in the middle of the night because every time the person above me gets out of bed I hear it. When maintenance comes they leave dirt and trash around your apartment. There are constantly kids playing in the streets and parking lots. I have talked to the leasing office and they consider all of this satisfactory. Do not live here under any costs, if I could rate it with negative numbers I would but 1 star is the lowest I can do.

So when back the next day because I was no longer comfortable talking with Ather I ask to speak with a supervisor, which Ather came and saw me ask what was wrong I told her again I am not comfortable moving into that unit, she then told me about a other unit with is out of my budget, I was told I would get back my money in 30 to 45 days I call back because I need to find some way else to live talk with manager and was told the same, mind you I never live at this complex call headquarters and no one as call me back need my money

Raised few complaints about services and that were sorted out quickly by management.------_-------------------The above review is in the past; now the apartments are not appropriately maintained and infected with rodents and mice. Apart from that the management is least bothered even to an emergency request, in this hot summer the Air-condition isnt working and the management said they are waiting for parts from the contractor.Cant the management predict these simple things? Not worth, waiting for the lease to complete.

I wasnt going to leave a review because I wanted to leave the negativity behind me, but I just received a bill from them in the mail and Ive lost all respect for this company. Please be aware that Howard Crossing will take your full security deposit and find any way to make you pay. We lived in our apartment for four years and they added made up charges for things like toilet not cleaned-$35 charge, oven not cleaned-$25 charge. First of all I am not a cleaning crew, second of all my oven and toilet were clean when I left. Also, we asked to be present for the final inspection and they never followed through with this. I believe they did this so they could put false charges on the final account. We asked to see pictures and the ones they showed us had signs that the apartment had been tampered with.Built in 1968-old, outdated and worn down on the inside. Do not be fooled by the pictures online-there are just a select few apartments that have been remodeled and they charge around $1600 for them. Not worth it. Even in the remodeled units the outside of them looks like a crack house. Graffiti and cigarette smoke smell everywhere. We had a hole in our ceiling for three months. I called numerous times. Maintenance would patch up the hole, but never fix the actual leak. I eventually had to call the corporate office in order to get roofing contractors to fix the roof. Then we went on vacation for a week and when we came back everything on our coffee table was ruined due to yet another leak. We didnt even bother calling because we put our notice in to leave. The manager of this property is a disgrace. She leaves harassing newsletters on your mailbox every week. For example, If we find out who is leaving trash next to the dumpster you will be fined If we find out who is feeding the stray animals you will be fined. Lady why dont you fix the source of the problem instead of blaming the residents? I know other residents who have asked her to contact animal control as there is a major stray cat problem in this community. Trap and release programs could work for this issue. I was also in shock one day when I saw the manager driving around the community yelling at residents that trash needs to be in the dumpster! The poor people were just trying to take a walk and it wasnt even their trash! Even if it was you should not be yelling at them and the dumpster were always full! Why dont you call and see if the trash pick up can happen more often? The leasing agents are never available. They only answer the phone during select hour and if you select I am a future resident on the phone menu. They truly dont care about the current residents. Once you sign that lease their mentality changes and they are focused on getting money out of you any way they can. Even though their hours say 9am-6pm they have these meetings several times a week where they shut down the office. Several times I have tried to go to the leasing office and they have a big sign on the door saying Not opening until 11 am. I always feel bad for the people trying to pay their rent waiting outside the door. In fact, on August 1st when I tried to turn my keys in they were having one of these meetings. I had a beg a maintenance man to get one of the staff members to take my keys. I wasnt going to let them say I never turned the keys in!Another issue-you need two keys to get into the apartment. One for the outside door, and one for your actual apartment. They say this is for added security. The problem is, there are no buzzer systems. I have gone outside many times and been completely locked out because I forgot the outside key. One time I got locked out during the snowstorm and it was really bad! Thank god one of my neighbors saw me freezing outside and let me in! This is a major safety issue!

BE ALARMED!!! I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone. Management lacks professionalism. You definitely get what you pay for with this place. Emailed management twice over the span of 3 weeks, never got a response. I terminated a lease here after having the keys for less than 12 hours. Found bed bugs in the unit the morning after signing and management carried the situation as if they (bed bugs) were ants. They tried to charge us a prorated rate for two days, ( less than 12 hours after signing the lease) and after refusing to pay two, we agreed to pay for one day. Management then told us to expect the 1,300 dollars to be back in my account in 30-45 days. Waste of time, money and energy.

DO NOT EVER lease from these apartment homes. We relocated from Ohio without knowing the area and did not have much time to research apartments. The walls are thin, the ceilings are cracking, and water stained but that I could handle. Our first fiasco was with a spider infestation which was great considering we have a 9 month old baby who likes to crawl and pick things up. It took many phone calls and in person visits to get this situation addressed let alone remedied. But the icing on the cake was the blizzard. I give one day of mercy for being unprepared but not THREE. Legally they have 48 hours and it has been way more than that. We have called many times but get excuses and indifference blaming the snow. Well at least make sure no one needs food or medical attention. A lot of families and elderly people reside here. My husband walked through the snow to a gas station last night but that is not going to sustain us for long. Gas stations do not have baby food. He also had to miss work as did I am sure many others had to as well. We called the non emergency line at the police station. He said to keep bugging them (which we are) and if nothing happens we can have a police officer take us to get food for the baby. They would plow us out but cant for liability reasons. This is outrageous, residents are not their priority. No one on the phone has sounded concerned, they act like I am mad that I am stuck indoors. The leasing office was plowed but not our complex. I asked why and there were maintenance men staying the night there. Are you kidding me. I said I am sure they have food and she said why yes they do. We made sure they got groceries before the storm. WHAT! We made sure we got groceries too but did not anticipating being stuck for three days. Incompetent management and they should not be allowed to rent. I worry for other tenants who do not speak English who are also hungry and probably do not know what to do.

I’m in the last couple days of my one year lease here and this is by far the worst place I’ve ever lived in my entire life. Before even entering the apartments you will be greeted by trash covering the outside, and completely everflowing dumpsters because somehow the residents here can’t seem to grasp that trash goes in the dumpster not outside it. The walls are paper thin and during my first couple weeks here all we heard was our neighbor below us screaming and saying he “wanted to kill everyone.” We talked to our neighbors and they all have mouse infestations, but luckily we have cats and only found one dead mouse in our apartment. Because of the mouse infestation they’ve come to our apartment 3 times this year to inspect for mice and that doesn’t include the other 4 “inspections” that they “had to do.” God forbid you have to call the administration office for anything, because they will give you the biggest attitude you’ve ever heard. The price is a little cheaper than other apartments in the area, but it sure shows. I have been counting down the days since I moved in until my lease is up. Oh and my first week here the bathroom water didn’t work and it took maintenance forever to fix it. The kids that live here have no supervision and go around pulling the fire alarms causing fire fighters to have to turn it off, and they run around screaming and destroying things. They also play in the parking lot near the cars and I’ve seen cars be hit by the Children’s toys. The real icing on the cake is the notice we got about yet another mouse inspection where they will be putting chemicals in our apartment just a couple days before we move out, we have cats yet they don’t respect that these are harmful to our pets.

Some of the office staff is rude and they are very quick to send you summons for failure to pay rent even though there was an error on their part. They hang out in the common area, and their voices echo throughout the entire building. When theyre not in the common area, theyre yelling outside or in their apartment. The walls and floors are too thin to muffle the noise. Theres about 7-10 of them and a dog living in one apartment. They leave for work at 6am every day talking to eahother loudly in the parking lot. Two days last week their dog barked nonstop for hours on end. Their broken down vehicles have been in the parking lot since the day we moved in (9 months and counting). Weve sent 18 videos of the noise and records of the broken down vehicles to management. Management wrote them letters but the noise continued, they talked to them, but its still continuing. EVERYTHING BREAKS! Literally, since day 1 we have had to call maintenance for something. And if you dont call and place an emergency request, you wont get help. It took 3 different calls to get both kitchen and bathroom sink leaks fixed. The first call, they said they fixed it. It stopped leaking for a day. The second time, I placed a neatly folded dry towel under the sink. They left a while you were our card on our table with a scribble on the back and DIDNT EVEN FIX ANYTHING!!! So the third time, I took a day off of work to make sure they did their job to fix a damn sink. Even from the day we got our keys and did our inspection of our place it looked like they rushed to finish our apartment. There are cracks around outlets and light switches, oh and only 4 outlets in the entire apartment work. The faucet in the shower was never fully attached. Literally this week with 90 degree heat and high humidity our AC wasnt fully working, our garbage disposal broke, our dryer blew a fuse, and now our washer is filled with water and towels that wont drain. So we did one load of laundry and now we cant do any for another day or two, or whenever they decide to come out. I was really hoping this new company was going to improve things, however its the same.

I had to take pictures with my phone to have proof the place was clean undamaged. I had a meeting with one person about my move-out date and she didnt have answers to my questions about the move-out process. Then, someone else blows up my phone the next day to turn in the keys. One day before my official date to turn in the keys, maintenance turned away the people I hired to clean the place. They told them they couldnt enter the apartment. Very, very poor communication.P.S. Living there was, meh. Expect the cheapest everything in the apartment. The cheapest stove. The cheapest fridge. The cheapest carpet that is impossible to keep clean. The cheapest blinds, that were broken after 1 week. NO installed lighting in the living room or bed rooms, and dead light switches in these rooms that do nothing.Youve been warned.

I spent many hours researching -- heres how to have a good experience at this complex. Background: I moved in exactly 2 weeks ago. I looked at this complex 2 years ago and decided to move to a Catonsville instead. I spent a lot of time researching each and every building and various unit (came in morning, noon, and night). Single mom of 2 toddlers. My main concern was safety and cleansiness. (I dont care if people are rude or cant speak english). Heres what I learned.1. Stay away from the larger buildings in the center of the complex or with large fields, go for the smaller buildings on the outskirts. Buildings like 1,2,5,6 were best in terms of privacy, but they didnt have updated units in my move time frame. (Search google for Howard Crossing Site Map or go in and get one from them). Have an apartment you like plus 2 backup in case they say its no longer ready/available. Be prepared to move in a month or so to get your ideal apartment.2. Upgraded apartments are worth it, I would beunhappy with a standard one. Upgraded doesnt mean its perfect, as others have mentioned the upgrades were clearly rushed/shoddy. About half of my outlets dont work and I found the old outlets accidentally left in a kitchen drawer. Im going to return those to them, but Im not that concerned about rushing to fix the outlets because I only have a few things (laptop, cell phone, vacuum, sewing machine) that I power on anyway.3. Yes, there are a lot of tiny things -- but maintence is really fast and theyve fixed everything Ive asked. Im going to send them and the office staff some Christmas cookies. I do that wherever Ive lived and I find getting to know people means you have less issues. Having an attitude back to someone with a poor attitude doesnt help.4. You only have no more than 6 families/units in your actual building, get to know them when you move in. Eliminates so many problems when your neighbors know you.5. To contact them, call or go in during weekdays at time when they arent busy. Try a Tuesday or Wednesday at 10AM. Realize everyone is probably trying to call on weekeneds or after work.6. I did get a notice about them entering our apartments today, but it was not 24 hours notice. Ok, but my apartment is clean and I have no pets so Im not worried. Its only 2 weeks and I will definetely come back and update you in 4 more weeks.

Compartments are OK to move into. They are not too expensive but the price moves from day to day. The price for a one bedroom with two closets is approximately 1030 to 1045 and it can go beyond this there are no efficiency apartments they only have one and two bedroom apartments. There is also no wide range parts for the children to play in. Swimming pool is overcrowded daily and then you have to pay for for entry of the pool there are no exceptions to the rule even if they are your relativesThe maintenance people to come on a timely effective manner to fix anything whats wrong in your apartment there are a lot of mosquitos B and spiders are outside im please do squirrels to see there are a mostly Pakistan and people from India living hereThere is no handicap accessible apartments there are no ramps for the handicapped to enter the apartment and no handicap parking in any of the apartment complexes you have to provide proof that you are handicapped and have letters written from numerous doctors before they will provide you any handicap accessibility in your apartment or outside I find this very hard to deal with because the ad a lot says that there has to be handicapped accessible apartments and there are non here

Please, Please add Verizon FiOS to this beautiful community, because Comcast is very expensive, Ive been living in this community for around 2 years never had any issues with maintainence tickets not been resolved in timely manners. Leasing and management staff is very friendly and provide all the details that every resident is looking for in future home.

Howard Crossing is essentially the slums of Howard County. When I first came to Howard Crossing looking to rend a 1 bed 1 bath they showed me a really beautiful apartment, however once i moved into the actually apartment it was a dump. There was a gash in the wall next to the bath room and the bedroom had a lot of tiny holes where it looked like someone hung up posters all over the place.i informed maintenance and they had someone come and patch the holes but they never bothered to come and paint over it. The bathroom tiles and light switch look like someone just tossed it together, i wish i could attach pics to show you. It also turns out that my unit does not have a garbage disposal which i am paying for. The microwave and dishwasher were not only dirty but they did not work. The Management here is extremely lazy and unhelpful. They had charged my account twice one month and charged me a NSF fee which means I did not have the funds to cover both the withdraws. instead of correcting their mistake i had to deal with my bank and it turned out to be easier to let them keep the money for next month as it would take 2 months for my bank to fix.So now I am trying to pay the NSF fee and the website is telling me to contact my bank. I spoke with my bank and there are no pending or incoming charges and i have sufficient funds. I then called the management and spoke with Gina. She informed me that there is nothing she can do (this is the same person who would not reverse the NFS fee) and that i would need to contact the website, after calling the number it was asking me to submit a survey about Walmart and other chains before I could even speak with someone.I also asked Gina about breaking contract and she stated that there is no written policy that she can send me.... but if i give a 60day notice (which apparently you have to give before your contract is even up or you are charged a fee) and pay a $500 turn over fee. then you can leave.Never again will I rent from home properties.
